My attention is solely on Nash as I walk up to him and Aaron. I'm sure it's obvious but I don't care, I nod at Aaron in greeting before returning my attention to the beautiful blue eyed boy sitting in front if me. Nash's eyes widen when he notices me and his cheeks turn pink, it makes me smile and I feel good about the fact that I have that effect on Nash. He seems interested and that makes things so much better because I think he won't turn me down for a date.
"Hi, Nash." I greet him softly. I didn't want to disturb Nash's work this morning even though I've been itching to approach him for hours but I managed to wait until his lunch break. Aaron probably knows what's going on so he makes an excuse and leaves us alone.
I really don't even hear Aaron say goodbye, my gaze is locked with Nash's. His intense blue eyes .
"H-hi," Nash replies, stuttering slightly. He's so fucking cute and I want him so bad. I boldly take a seat next to him, sitting a lot closer than Aaron was sitting, Nash runs a hand through his hair before he turns his head to look at me. I don't think he realizes how desirable he is.
"How's the new position?" I ask as I stare at Nash, I'm not shy in my perusal of Nash's body, my mind begins to drift off to dirtier thoughts but I stop them.
"I love it," Nash confesses softly. "I... I used to take care of a couple of horses with my mom. But she's gone now so... I haven't in a few years."
The way Nash says that sentence lets me know that she died and not that she left them. I don't press the issue, not yet, because I know exactly how it feels to lose someone and how painful it can be when someone presses for more information when you aren't ready.
"I'm happy you got the position there," I say impulsively,smiling softly at Nash.
"Me too," Nash replies shyly. I think about how to spend more time with Nash and wonder if he'd like to go riding with me.
"We should go riding one day," I offer, he seems to miss riding horses." Maybe on your day off?"
Nash looks really happy for a few moments and I get excited because he's going to say yes but his face falls,making me frown.
"I would love to," Nash replies, I can tell he's being honest. "But I take care of my little brother and sister on my day off. It's really the only time I can spend with them. I don't want them to feel abandoned, you know?"
"I met them at the store, right? They're so cute. You... you can bring them too. Maybe they'll enjoy riding as well." I don't give up easily, I'm determined to spend time with Nash and I won't let something like that stop me.
"Really?" Nash asks, he looks so hopeful and earnest that it makes my heart skip beats.
"Really," I reply firmly and smile, happy that I convinced Nash to say yes. I really won't mind his siblings presence, they seemed like good kids and deserve a nice day.
"Then we would love to. We all love horses," Nash says and we smile at each other.
"This Saturday then, yeah? We can ride out and take a picnic too, it'll be fun." I say as I get more excited, I love the happiness on Nash's face. I want to make him happy like this all the time, it's kind of crazy but I'm already getting attached to him. I've really never pursued anyone like this and it makes me nervous but Nash seems so innocent.
"I'll let you get back to work, I'll see you around, yeah?" I say, standing up. Nash smiles at me and nods. I leave him, feeling accomplished and excited.
I spend the rest of my day with Bart in the office but I peak out the window to catch glimpses of the beautiful blue eyed boy that's caught my attention. He and Aaron work together with the horses and I can tell Nash feels completely comfortable with his new position.
The next morning comes quickly and I head over to Nash's trailer as soon as I'm ready. I beep the horn and the door opens immediately, Nash steps out carrying his little sister and his younger brother exits behind them. She looks small for her age and I know she'll need a booster seat, I make a note in my mind to purchase one for her because I intend to spend as much time as I can with Nash and by association, his siblings.
Nash opens the back door to my car and smiles at me, he has such a beautiful smile, it's mesmerizing. He straps Skylynn in and Hayes slides into the car from the other side. He shuts the door and gets in the front, still smiling at me, and I feel a little dazed by how beautiful he is. No one has ever made me feel like this before and surprisingly I don't care. I don't care that he makes me weak and that he makes me feel vulnerable. I've always kept an emotional distance from the people I casually dated but I don't want that with Nash, he makes me want more, he makes me want something different.
"Hey," I say and give him what I'm sure is a lovesick smile.
"Hi," Nash responds shyly and I put the car into drive, the tires squeal as I leave the trailer park in dust.
I drive to the diner and pull into the parking lot, I look in the rear view mirror and Hayes eyes widen when he realizes where we are.
I honestly enjoy making the kids happy as well. I can tell they deserve it so much.
He begins to bounce in excitement. Nash gets out and picks up Skylynn from the back seat, Hayes is out of the car faster than anyone, Nash grins at his childish excitement and I chuckle as I get out of the car as well.
They follow me inside and are lead to a booth by the hostess. Hayes and Sky sit next to each other with Nash and I sit across from them. The hostess brings Skylynn crayons and some pictures she can color.
Skylynn giggles happily, Nash and I share small smiles.
We're handed their menus and Nash opens it, perusing it quietly. I love the food here, it's greasy perfection.
"Can... can I have a milkshake?" Hayes asks shyly, he has a hopeful smile on his face that I doubt I could ever say no too.
Nash glances at me, he's so cute and shy, it just makes me want him that much more.
"You can get whatever you want, buddy. Anything at all," I answer for Nash, Nash smiles gratefully at me.
I know he probably doesn't want to take advantage of my kindness, I can tell he's genuine and it's refreshing to be with someone who isn't seeking to take advantage of me or wants something from me.
My thoughts are uninterrupted by the waitress who comes around and takes our orders. Before long Hayes is sipping on a cookies n cream milkshake while Skylynn sips at her very own milkshake.
"Yummy!" She says brightly and they bring our food shortly after, the entire table is filled with plates of food. I just want them to enjoy their time out, their time away from that depressing looking trailer.
Hayes and Skylynn aren't shy, they're making noises of pleasure as they eat their pancakes and eggs. I can't help but have a smile playing on my lips when I notice Nash glance at me. I turn my head to meet his eyes and Nash mouths a silent 'thank you' and I nod in understanding.
They all finish their plates of food, no one leaves any left overs. I pay the bill without allowing Nash to look at it. It's absolutely my treat and I can tell that Nash struggles with receiving help. I just want him to be comfortable enough with me to ask for help, I want to help him, I want to make his life better.
We head back to my car and it doesn't take us long before we're headed to my ranch. I turn on cartoons for Sky and Hayes to watch during the ride. Their looks of awe at having TV in the car are entertaining and soon their attention is solely on what's playing on their screens.
Nash is looking at me while I drive and I glance back at him.
"What?" I ask, smiling slightly. I like having Nash's attention on me, it gives me butterflies. It's a feeling I haven't felt since my first crush.
"I'm just thankful, Cam. You don't understand how much this means to me, to see pure happiness on my brother and sister's faces is something I haven't seen since...well since a long time," Nash confesses softly, my heart breaks for Nash and his siblings. I can tell that they've gone through so much in such a short amount of time. I honestly believe that Nash shouldn't be worrying about how he's going to feed his siblings or how he's going to pay the bills. He should be off to college worrying about skipping class, partying and making new memories.
He deserves the life I've been blessed with and in that moment I make a promise to myself that I will do everything is my power to make Nash's life better.
