Echoing.
Echoing inside me.
But other than that,
The room was static.
"Are you sick? I remember you said you were complaining about being cold."
I wanted to cringe at the thought
From that evening
So much went wrong.
There wasn't a single answer.
It was so dark in here, though.
I opened the blinds,
"It's not healthy for you to be stuck in darkness..."
I'm in front of him.
His eyes are wide and open,
Sparkling,
Looking at me,
"The dark can cause a lot of things, Frank. None of which you want. It can cause blindness, melancholy, corruption, and horror. Please, don't let them creep up on you."
He just stared.
I smiled.
No smiles back.
"I'm going to fix your favorite: French Onion Soup."
No answer.
Nonetheless
I cooked it.
