The following day, we split up again, tracking down two more Alphas. Kid and I had tracked down a reindeer-like monster and were now fighting it.

We had already taken down the smaller monsters leaving the Alpha by itself. Kid shot at it while my wolves snapped at it. It backed away until it was cornered.

With its back against a small cliffside, it stood its ground, snorting and pawing the ground as it pointed its antlers toward us.

I held my hand out for Kid and the wolves to stand down. Kid looked a little confused, but lowered his pistols as I grinned at him. I knew what I was doing.

I slowly approached the beast. As it tried to headbutt me, I grabbed it by its antlers and forced it to the ground. It struggled to get free as I kept a firm hold on its antlers, straddling it to keep it within my grasp.

I quickly jerked its head around, snapping its neck as its body stilled under me. I released my hold on it and stood up, stepping over the lifeless corpse.

Kid smiled at me as I walked over to him. "You never cease to amaze me."

I grinned. "Am I that entertaining?"

"Yes, you are. I could watch you all day."

I giggled and pecked his lips before climbing onto one of my wolves. Kid climbed on another and we rode them back toward camp.

The others were still gone, so I made a fire and we all sat down and ate. Looking at the clear sky, I realized tonight would be a good night to see the northern lights.

As we finished our meal, the others soon arrived. Sitting down with us, Maka let out a sigh.

"That arctic fox monster was pretty annoying. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm glad Blackstar was there."

Blackstar jumped in front of us. "WAHOO! TOO BAD YOU GUYS WEREN'T THERE TO SEE ME BEING SUCH A BIG STAR! HAHAHA!"

I rolled my eyes as the others began eating by the fire. "Well, that's four down, one Alpha to go."

Kid looked at me and asked, "Do you know how to find the last one?"

I gulped at the memory and shook my head. "I don't. I've only seen the fifth Alpha a couple of times. This one will be tricky to find, that's for sure."

It grew quiet as the others finished eating. We all headed into our tents for the evening. I kept an eye out for when it got completely dark.

I poked my head out of the tent, seeing the aurora lighting up the night sky. I looked back inside as Kid questioned me.

"What are you looking at?"

"Come see for yourself."

He poked his head out alongside mine. His eyes grew wide as he looked at the sky. I noticed the others had also gotten a glimpse and were sitting outside of their tents to see it.

I quietly asked Kid, "You want to get a better view?"

He nodded with a smile. I grabbed his hand and led him as we snuck away from camp. I took him to a small hill, sitting him down beside me in the snow.

"Isn't it beautiful, Kid? The aurora borealis, or northern lights, is only visible on the clearest of nights."

Kid looked at me. "It is. It's almost as beautiful as you are."

I scooted closer to him as he wrapped an arm around me. I kissed his lips and he quickly responded by kissing me back.

As I pulled away, I laid my head against his shoulder. I felt his head rest against mine as we gazed up at the colorful sky. After a bit, we snuck back to our tent, going to bed for the rest of the night.

The next day, we split up and head out in search of the final Alpha. I knew my wolves wouldn't be able to track it, so we looked for it ourselves.

Unfortunately for us, a small snowstorm had whipped up. Kid and I stuck close together to avoid getting lost. We could barely see in front of us.

"Luna! We can't keep going! We should turn back until the storm passes!"

I could barely hear his voice over the howling of the wind. "We can't turn back! The sooner we find the Alpha, the sooner we take down the necromancer!"

The storm seemed to disperse in an instant. I knew storms around here were unpredictable, but wow. I smiled at Kid.

"You see? The snowstorm has already died down enough to-"

I let out a shaky gasp, realizing where we were. "What? What is it, Luna?"

My eyes darted around at the ground. "We're on the ice. We shouldn't be on the ice."

We had made it too close to the ocean, where the snow turns to solid ice beneath us. Kid looked at me in confusion and worry.

"W-Why?"

I looked at him in fear. "There are things that dwell below the ice, hunting beneath our feet. The Alpha."

My eyes grew wide upon seeing a large, grey form moving below us. "Run. Kid, Run!"

We ran in the direction we came from. As I ran, I could hear the cracking of ice followed by a large splash. The ice around us broke apart, separating us.

Kid and I both stood on platforms of ice, floating over the water. I could see the large form circling around us. Kid began shooting at it while I formed ice over the water to get to him.

As I began rushing across the ice path I made, I saw the large creature heading straight for me.

"Luna, look out!"

Kid and the twin's voices seemed to echo as I quickly rolled out of the way as the monster emerged, breaking the path I had made. Using my claws to stop myself from sliding off the ice, I stood beside Kid.

"We need to get it above water!"

I formed another ice path, connecting us back to the land. We ran across and made it to solid ground.

We both took a minute to catch our breath before the creature jumped onto the land in front of us. A large seal-like monster stood before us, it's large fangs visible as it roared at us.

I growled as we began attacking it. Kid and I circled around it, shooting and scratching it. It was a lot slower on land, allowing us to easily move around it, dodging its attacks.

I summoned fire around it, but its thick hide seemed to resist the flames. The creature looked at me and lunged straight through the fire.

I caught its jaws as it tried to bite me. It pushed me to the ground, coming closer to try and catch me between its jaws.

That's when I got an idea of how to kill this thing. Kid had gotten a clear shot right into the beast's eye. It roared in pain, reeling back as blood poured out of its eye.

I quickly got up, rushing toward it and grabbing its jaws again. I pried its mouth open and used fire magic to burn it from the inside out.

The monster pulled back, rolling around in pain. It started rushing back toward the water, but collapsed before it could make it. I could see a few smaller seal monsters in the water as I walked over to the edge.

I looked out into the water, seeing the other monsters beginning to swim away in fear. I put my hand on my hips.

"We did it. We killed the last Alpha."

Kid came over to me. "You did most of the work, Luna. Let's meet up with the others back at camp."

I nodded with a small smile. I followed him as we made our way back to camp. We sat down and enjoyed a meal with the others when they came back.

I quietly told Kid. "I'll be glad when we can go home. I've had enough of the cold."

I pulled my thick coat closer to me as Kid wrapped an arm around me. "Me too. I may be a reaper, but even I'm tired of this cold."

We soon set out with me leading the group to the necromancer's fortress. We crouched down against the snow as I pointed to the fortress ahead of us.

We watched as the monsters in the area gathered to it. Soon enough, the necromancer appeared, with white hair and clothes, he looked as if he belonged in this winter wasteland.

I summoned more snow cloaked shadow wolves and told everyone, "We split up and surround him. Go."

Everyone nodded and split up along with the wolves. Two wolves stayed by my side as I slowly got closer. When I got into position, Maka, Crona, and Blackstar, along with some of my wolves, jumped out and slashed away at the monsters in their path.

The necromancer looked around at the sudden assault on his pets. Kid soon jumped in, shooting down a majority of monsters. They slowly closed in on the necromancer as I stood from my hiding place.

My two wolves took down a couple of monsters in front of me as I approached the necromancer. He looked at me in fear and frustration.

"You must be the ones killing off my army of monsters."

I smirked. "That is correct. Now it's time to die."

As he started mumbling some magic words, I rushed forward, grabbing him by the neck and silencing him. He gasped for breath as I held him firmly in my grip.

"It's over, necromancer."

I squeezed his neck until he ceased to move. I released his body, letting it fall to the ground. I watched as the others finished off the rest of the monsters before looking at me with smiles plastered on their faces.

I took the necromancer's soul before going over to the others. Blackstar and Patty both yelled in excitement.

"Yaaaay! We did it! We did it!"

I sighed in relief. "Now let's get out of here. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm ready to return to sunshine and warm weather."

They all nodded in agreement, muttering replies of 'yes' and 'I hear that'. We rode the wolves back to camp where we quickly packed up our things before the plane came to pick us up.

Everyone rushed ahead of me. Kid waited for me as I double checked to make sure I had everything. As soon as we got in the plane, the pilot had hot chocolate waiting for us.

I noticed everyone else had already gotten some. So Kid and I both grabbed a cup and headed toward some backseats, hand in hand. As we began passing Maka and Soul's seats, I saw Soul smirk at us.

"Hey, you two heading to the back by yourselves? We better not hear any strange noises back there, hehehe."

I pouted at him as Maka looked like she was going to Maka-chop him. Before she got the chance, I calmly poured my hot chocolate on his lap.

He jumped up out of his seat. "Owwwch! Hot! Hot! Hot!"

I smirked and sarcastically said, "Oops, my bad."

Maka stifled a laugh as Kid grimaced. I led Kid by the hand to a couple of seats toward the back. I sat by the window as Kid sat next to me.

His hand stayed connected with mine the whole time. He suddenly held his cup of hot chocolate to me.

"Here. We can share if you like. Just as long as you don't pour it on me."

I smiled and took it from him. "I'd never do that to you, Kid. Unless you deserved it."

I noticed him scoot back slightly as I took a few gulps of the warm drink. I could feel myself already warming up as I giggled at him.

"I'm only kidding, Kid."

He smiled as I handed him the hot chocolate. He took a few gulps before sighing in content. After all the fighting we've been doing lately, I'm ready to relax a bit now.

Feeling a bit tired, I laid my head against Kid's shoulder. I felt him bring my hand up and kiss the top of it before lacing our fingers.

I smiled to myself and closed my eyes. I knew it would take a bit until we got back to Death City, so I'll just enjoy this time with Kid.
