Sophia’s Pov
“Have you ever had the feeling when your stomach is all knotted up? Or when all you want to do is be swept away with the wind?” I felt every emotion sweep through my body when Ryan had burst in the door. It was one of those afternoons where the clouds where golden and sparse throughout the sky and as you walked down this small municipality it just seemed peachy
“She is one of a kind, amazing to put it in other words” Riley kept going on and on about his date with Molly and how they where destined to be, Had no one even looked at me? I was lonely Blaze loved god knows who Ryan had Kate and now Molly and Riley. Where did that leave me? I hated Molly from the beginning, I waited to bring her back to Carlisle so he could give the orders to have her done with, She was beautiful even before she changed and what annoys me more is the fact my brother loved her so much. I sat down in a small corner cafe where a small group of teenagers from our school sat in the back drinking coffee while they studied for exams. Its rather funny the thought of studying for exams, ha I guess thats what happens when you’ve done exams over thirty times. I sat there watching as a newly wed couple walked along the street in complete bliss with each other. A couple with a new born baby strolled along past us. An elderly couple sat feeding birds on a park bench and where was I? Sitting in a cafe with my brother. I of all people know I’m a mean person but does the rest of the world have to rub it in so much?
After enduring an hour of coffee with my brother he went off to visit Molly and I went out to the shops for our weekly food supply. After I had shopped I headed for the checkout, I looked around in each of the checkouts. Number 1 had a rather old looking lady with a permanent scowl on her face, 2 was some grungy teenager with a whole lot of angst against the world, 3 Hello there, standing there was a boy around my age with brown hair and a smile that made my knees weak. I walked forward to the checkout barely standing behind some old lady who smelt like moth balls “Go to checkout 1” I whispered in her ear. Automatically the lady picked up her shopping and walked off, the joy of having super powers.
“Hi are you having a nice day?” The young man said to me smiling when he looked up to see me
“I am now” I smiled wickedly the mans eyes widened as he looked me deep in the eye. I leant right over into the trolley just for the man to check me out. It felt good for once having someone look at me like that for a while. I payed the money and walked away checking the receipt I was given, I smiled when on the bottom of the paper was the number of the check out guy. I turned to the man and smiled at him and walked to the car. I was halfway through packing the car when my phone began buzzing wildly in my pocket
“Hello?” I said continuing to pack the car
“Sophia get home straight away, Ryan called he needs us urgently” Before I could speak the phone call ended. I dialled up Riley’s number
“Riley meet me out the front” I said I pushed the trolley up the curb and drove off to Molly’s house
I stood there not knowing why I had agreed to go back to carlisle I hated living there. Ryan had left to go and see Kate and it was my turn to see Catherine Grossi. There is nothing more terrifying I could think of than going to visit her and her brother. Blaze tagged along with me and Riley all shook up when back to see Molly. We rounded the street where the Grossi’s
“God I hate that smell”
“Me too” I said wrinkling my nose that was filled with the horrid stench of the most deadliest supernatural beings that where ever created. The house we pulled up to had a large archway covered in climbing roses and a fence with black roses covering every inch of the fence
“Wow” Blaze said walking over to them
“what do you think your doing” I snapped
“ I was just going to touch them”
“And die!” I said impatiently Blaze looked at me puzzled
“those flowers where used back in the time of the royals and even Hitler for a quick easy instant death that left no mess, remember there deadly poisonous?” I said feeling as if I had picked the dumbest person to accompany me to something as dangerous as this. As I walked under the archway I took a step onto the first stepping stone and then the second making sure that my feet never touched anything else. A shadow flickered in the corner of my eye. I spun around to try and see what it was, nothing. I turned back and walked up the porch and to the front door and knocked. Nobody answered again something moved behind the curtain
“Open up I know you’re in there” I said impatiently I knocked again
“Go away” a voice echoed in my head icily. I walked around the back to the door and knocked there
“Get out” Another voice soon followed I concentrated on the door and the lock mechanism inside and suddenly the door flew open. I walked up the back steps and inside. It was completely empty just bare dustless rooms. I walked towards the staircase when a strong arm wrapped around my neck. Blaze jumped forward and hit the person that had such a strong hold onto me. I spun around grabbing who I now realised as Mikal Grossi by the back of the arm
“let my foolish brother go” Catherine said behind me” I let him go instantly Catherine was beautiful but she was down right scary. Her bronze hair framed her pale face and her eyes were so green that I couldn’t keep direct eye contact.
“We need to ask you a favour”
“A favour........ You know 16th century mere beings as yourselves begged us for favours. A long living line of royalty from the city of Venice and you ask my Brother and I give you a single favour. It spits in the face of everything our family worked for” By now she began to bore everyone with her ancestory
“Kate Waters is in danger, my family and I are heading back to Rome next week to deal with such matters and all we ask is you keep an eye on our friend I might even dare say one of our family” I said feeling myself getting all emotional
“ A dangerous person is coming to harm one of our family and we need your help” Blaze stepped in for me when I began to cry. Catherine’s piercing eyes softened and her rigid body relaxed. She turned to her brother who was glaring at Blaze and pulled him aside
“Why should we help them Blaze they just attacked me” Mikal said throwing his hands in the air.
“Don’t you remember anything Grandma taught us in her lessons, What would happen if you offended Carlisle?”
“What about if you fail Carlisle forget that little important one?” Mikal retorted
“I don’t care I’m going to help as best as I can, you don’t have to if you don’t want to” Mikal folded his arms and sighed
“You have yourselves a deal” and that was the first steps to amending the relationship between Xanthis and Vampires
Riley’s POV
It was a short while after the girls had gone I had made a cup of tea and sat in the study flicking through the old books
“Supernatural beings 101, ah my favourite” I said to myself, every time I picked that book up it gave me a warm feeling. It was a day after my mother had passed and my Aunt had brought Ryan and I into Belgium with her. Sitting in the corner of a street sat a old store
“All beings welcomed” it said in gold cursive writing on the door. As we stepped in side the acrid smell of incense filled my nostril. I scrunched my face up from the smell. As my Aunt danced her fingers along the back of so many book spines she picked out a book
“Elements” And handed that to Ryan with the instructions he must guard it with his life. She continued down the cramp aisles of book until she found another book. She hummed to herself in interest as she looked back and forth between the book and I. After a while she gave an approving nod and handed me the book
“When all else is lost look to this book to remind you of who you are and who will stand for you” When I opened the front cover I couldn’t believe my eyes, in front of me was the exact words Aunt had said but written in the front of my book signed by Aunt. This whole place exited me it was truly magical. I never visited that book store again after I had left.
As I flicked through the pages the smell of incense wafted up from within in the pages and like a small child I wrinkled my nose. As I flicked along the pages a word jumped out “Shifters” I flicked back until I found the page. There on the page was a finely painted wolf howling to the moon. I remembered one day in school reading Kate’s mind and seeing the new teacher as a werewolf. I jumped from my seat the hot tea smashing onto the ground as I ran towards Kate’s house.
I knocked on the door of Sam, Kate’s neighbours house.
“Hello?” A strong voice answered me when the door opened
“Hi, I’m looking for Michael?” I said looking past him into the house.
“Your looking at him” I looked up and took a closer look at his body. It was true, he had the dark tanned skin and his eyes where black and he had a large build it was like every other shifter I had ever seen.
“Would you like to take a walk?” I said hoping he would agree.
It was quiet amusing going through their property it stretched past Kate’s house and began to climb slowly up the hillside. Michael walked along a well trodden path up towards the back of their property
“What did you say your name was?” Michael said looking back at me
“I’m Riley”
“what did you want to talk about?” Michael turned to me
“Something extremely important that you can help us with”

So this is the next chapter and soon everyone will be off to Italy, I'm rather excited to see what happens between Carlisle and Ryan's family!!!!
