I felt a warm hand rest on my shoulder and when I looked up I saw Riley. I had a mini heart attack “come” he said and I stood up and looked to Blaze who was staring at me with a confused expression. I followed Riley out to the oval and towards the back of the school “Keep away from Catherine and her brother Mikal there trouble” he said turning around and staring down at me

“Did you sense that too?” I asked wondering if he had felt that coldness I had

“No I saw the future she's trouble why what happened to you” he said. It was all so strange they were all talking to me now. I'd never spoken so deeply to Riley and Sophia none of them but now it was like we were closer than ever. I explained to Riley what I had seen and heard and he smiled “So your like me” he said it still made no sense so I made a motion with my hand showing him to continue

“When I concentrate on a certain object I can tell its past” he grabbed my handbag and held it between his hands. I was still not sure what he had meant “Your father brought this from a Dior store in Italy” he said my jaw fell open and I stared at him unbelievably “Here take this” he handed me a red ring that sat on his finger and so I took it and felt it in my hands. I focused on the ring and its little red rubies that were inside and thats when the images flashed into my head.

I could see Ryan and Riley standing at the end of a bed there faces filled with sorrow. It was really creepy because the images looked centuries old. There mother came over and hugged the boys before going over to the cupboard and going through a jewellery box. I saw the man now lying still on the bed unmoving. I suddenly pieced it together. That was there father who had died and the ring belonged to him. Riley's mother came back to Ryan and handed him a Green ring with Emeralds that twinkled in the sunlight. Then she handed Riley a ring that was matching but with rubies. Then it ended and I looked up to Riley

“Your father died and this was his ring” I said slowly looking at it. It was beautiful

“I could teach you more?” he said taking the ring back and sliding it onto his finger and looking back at me “You need to think of someone you know and then think about how long ahead you want to see. I concentrated on my mother. I thought about seeing her now and then I felt my spirit leave my body and the next thing I see is my mother and father at a dinner table eating away as they discussed me. It was strange hearing them talk about me they discussed at the possibility of me getting into the national team and they went on to discuss about the trouble I was having with that teacher and breaking her arm.

I opened my eyes and smiled at Riley at how cool it was and that was when the bell rang. The last period of school was a free period so Molly, Courtney and I were going to my house for a swim. Blaze had to go home and Steph was going out with Richard. I walked to the car and that's when I was looking at the ground when I ran into someone “Sorry” I said looking up at the person I had just ran into. His eyes were a dark brown and his hair was black. He was very muscular and almost dream like “No problems” He said smiling. He held his hand out to shake mine “Mikal” he said and I stretched mine out feebly and shook his “Kate” and it was like Deja Vu I could hear screaming and darkness and red and blood all over the floor. A deeper shiver ran through my body and I let go and forced a smile “Nice meeting you” I said trying to side step him. He quickly stood in front of me

“So whats a pretty lady like you doing this weekend” I suddenly realised he wanted to ask me out

“Well on Saturday I'm going shopping and I can't remember, there was something I was supposed to be doing on Sunday?” I said holding my jaw pretending that I had no idea what I was doing on Sunday.

“That's right I'm going to meet my boyfriends parents” and then his devilish smirk disappeared and this time I successfully side stepped him and walked away with a cheeky grin on my face.

The thought of having so many powers at my hand and not even know how to use them was scary to me. It was cool I could see the future and the past of different objects. I drove towards home looking around me. I wondered to myself if these enhanced senses worked. I was on a one kilometer stretch of back road and I focused on the building at the end of the road. I gasped in shock when I could see in through the windows and watching the little girl sitting at the table with her family playing monopoly and watching as she moved the little horse passed go and her mum handed her the money. I remembered when my parents were like that and we would sit around hanging out. Then my mother went back into modelling and then my father got a hit movie that shot him to stardom. I remember those summers were I stayed at home while my mum was in New York for a fashion show whilst my father was in Italy shooting the next smash hit. I sighed and remembered spending nights over Sam's house because his parents didn't want me to stay alone. And at the end of the day I thank Sam's parents for that because then we wouldn't have had that friendship and there would be no us.

I pulled up outside followed by Molly. Molly was my soul mate no doubt hands down. We were the sun and the moon, ying and yang, hands and feet we were complementary. There was nobody in the world that I could trust more than her and that's why we were best friends. We went upstairs were I changed into my bikini and so did molly. Courtney showed up and she put her bikini on as well. We went outside to the pool. We walked on a small dirt pathway that went winding into our small forest out back. We walked for about two minutes until we stood in front of a three storey waterfall that was man made that then ran down into our pool below.

The evening was great and the girls all came back for tea. I had to admit I did give up on cooking and ordered pizza but the girls loved it. The girls left for home and I was left by myself. It was eerily silent. I couldn't even here the usual bugs outside that chirped in the night. I sat there downstairs watching the tv when I heard a loud crashing noise from the kitchen. I crept quietly along the floorboards my hands curled up in fists. It ran through my head that if someone was in here and it was a guy twice my size what were my puny little fists going to do to him. I peered around the corner of the wall and sighed. On the floor was cups and containers that had spilt on the floor from the cupboard. I had just packed the last of the containers away so I grabbed a cup and had a drink of water. I walked up the stairs to my room were I sat with my phone in my hand looking around nervously. I screamed loudly when the power went out and I dialled the number for Ryan quickly. Don't ask me why I have the number of a really cute guy in my phone I really have no explanation

“Hey Kate” I heard his soft voice ring from the other side of the phone

“Ryan I need you quick I think there is someone in my house” I heard the phone end all of a sudden and I prayed he was coming.
