"Paulene! I wasn't saying that. I'm just reminding! Reminding you to take your pre-law course seriously. I want to see only the highest grades at the end of the semester, okay?"
"Okay Mom. I get it," I said as I closed the door of my room.
Damn it.
Two days of school and she already suspects me of slacking off? How unreasonable is that? She really won't give me a chance, eh?
I head to the shower.
I closed my eyes as I felt the water kiss my bare skin. The cold water rejuvenates me. Funny how I used to get the same effect with hot water back when I was still in Canada.
I pumped body wash from the bottle onto my palm and lathered it all over my body. The smell of tangerine makes my senses come alive. I washed my hair with shampoo before putting some conditioner by running my hands through the wet strands. Finally, I rinsed it off.
I stepped out of the shower and put a towel around my body. I feel fresh and alive. My mother can be really stressful to deal with, but- stress no more!
I flipped my Mac open. I logged in to Facebook to check my Notifications. Hmm. A Friend Request.
From Ashton?! Ashton Harding?
I opened his profile and confirmed that it's really him.
It's really him!
Wow. His blue eyes are so beautiful in this photo. It's almost hypnotic.
I sprang up from my bed and quickly put on something to wear. I then jumped back and excitedly pressed "Confirm".
Relationship Status? Single? What about Blondie Hottie?
I checked his Profile Pictures. No pics with Blondie.
I could look at his pictures all night. It's not a sin to save just one, right?
My stalking was interrupted when I saw a chat pop up... from Ashton.
"hey thnx! :D" He said.
Oh my god. What am I supposed to reply?
Calm down, Pau. Calm yo' titties down.
"np! ty for the request! how did u find me?"
"horace. i asked for krista's last name. krista didn't accept my request yet. huhuhu. :( "
Oh, I see. So much for feeling special, huh? Seems like he just added me just because we were together last night.
"ill tell her later. ;) " I typed.
"so whats up?"
Oh my god. He wants a conversation. I sat up and typed,
"nothing much. u?"
Ashton is typing...
Why am I so excited about all of this? I can't stop myself from smiling like an idiot.
"nawwthing much too. just thinking about u."
What?!
Such a flirt! Ha! Ha! I can play this game too, Mr. Harding.

I grabbed the nearest pillow and buried my face in it. What is he gonna reply? Please reply!
"i was actually wondering if ur tired already..."
Huh?
I quickly typed, "y?"
Ashton is typing...
My heart is beating so fast. I hugged the pillow tight as I wait for what he''ll say next.
"coz uve been running on my mind since last nyt. :/ "
I let out a squeal and quickly covered my mouth with the pillow, but, realized it's too late.
Is he being serious?
What do I do?! What do I do?!
And then my door swung open.
I quickly closed my laptop.
"Paulene?! What happened?!"
"Oh, nothing Pops! I was, uhh, I was just.. I think I saw a rat. There!" I pointed at the direction of my closet.
"Where? Let me have a look."
"No Pops. No need. I'm not even sure if it's a rat. I don't know. It's fine now."
Dad still looked unconvinced.
"Promise." I gave him my most reassuring face.
"Okay, Dearie." He then closed the door.
Phew.
I ran to the door and locked it. I hurried to my bed and flipped my Mac open.
"pau still there?"
"yes ash. im so sorry. it was my dad"
"oh. what happened?"
Damn it. Am I stupid or what?
"nothing i just thought i saw a rat so i squealed and he came over -.- "
"I HATE RATS TOO!!!! :S "
I had to laugh at this. He's so cute!
"what else do you hate? :D " I asked.
"girls ignoring my pick up lines! >:| "
I bit my lip. Was "running on my head" a pick up line?
"haha. u r funny"
Lame. Just lame.
"thnx. and u r pretty"
I felt my cheeks burn. Is he hitting on me?
"r u drunk or something? :P "
"prolly drunk on u? ;) "
What the hell? Ha, ha, ha!
"whatever." I replied.
What else should I say?
I waited for him to reply, but, I can't even see an "Ashton is typing...".
I feel stupid. How else is he gonna reply to what fucking ever?!
Ashton wants to start a video call.
Accept or Reject.
No! Wait! I jumped off my bed. I quickly ran a brush through my hair and put tint on my lips.
"hey answer! :p " He typed.
"wait. sorry call again. i didn't see. i was fixing my things for tom." I lied.
He called again and I accepted.
He waved at me. He looks so cute!
I waved back.
"Wait, I'll just get my headset," I said to him.
I plugged it in and placed it over my head.
"Why did you put me on headset? Unfair. You're on speaker here! Put me on speaker!" He demanded.
I just let out a laugh and he laughed along.
