Monday I skipped school with Avery, Jake, and Parker. We decided to spend the day in the forest running and having fun. I was also going to tell Jake and Avery about the mysterious note I found on my pillow Saturday.
“Cecilia, you feel so distant.” Jake said. I looked up at him and gave him a small sad smile. “What’s wrong?”
I looked at Parker silently asking if I should go on, he nodded at me and I started to explain about the note. “Saturday after I came home with Parker, I was getting ready for bed and I found a note on my pillow.” I said. “It was kind of creepy.”
“Well, what did it say?” Avery asked.
“Something about how I’m not safe, anywhere I go.” I said.
“Maybe it’s a joke.” Jake suggested.
“We thought that too, I’m surprised your dad didn’t say anything actually.” I said staring at Jake. “But my dad and your dad searched my room, they couldn’t sense anything familiar. They think maybe it was a rouge or a human, but they are keeping on high alert.”
“A human?” Jake asked. “Why would a human do it?”
“I don’t know.” I said.
“Why would anyone want to hurt Cecilia?” Parker asked looking very suspiciously at Jake.
“Maybe it was you.” Jake said. “I mean, it’s not like you want her as a mate, why not just off her so you won’t have to put up with her.”
“JAKE!” Avery and I yelled at the same time. Parker was glaring daggers at Jake, Parker wouldn’t do that. Would he? No he wouldn’t
“Okay guys; let’s not talk about this anymore.” I said and stood up from the ground.
“Right.” Avery said standing up. “We were going to go for a run.”
A few seconds later, Avery and Jake were standing in front of me in their wolf form. Avery had fur the color of the snow with some brown streaks here and there. Jake was a brown and tan color, he looked similar to Avery.
“It’s okay Cecilia, just concentrate, and see yourself as the wolf and you will become it.” Parker said and shifted. I relaxed my body and visualized my wolf, a dark brown and black wolf, the color of chocolate, with long soft fur and yellow glowing eyes. I felt my body morph and I fell onto all fours. It was the first time I shifted since I first shifted, my heart was beating and I was a mess.
Good job Cecilia! Avery yelled. I looked around confused, she was still in her wolf form but I could hear her. It’s a mind link, when you’re in wolf form this is how we communicate. She explained.
That makes sense. I said.
Shall we go for this run then? Parker asked. It’s a lovely day.
Let’s go! I said and we ran.
Parker was right it was beautiful outside; the temperature was perfect for it almost being September. The sun was high in the sky and there were barely any clouds. I loved the feeling of the air blowing through my fur, as of this point and don’t think I could see my life without my wolf side.
Everything just seemed to rush by me, the trees, and the big, grey rocks that stood out of the ground and the clouds above just floated right on by as I ran. It was the best feeling the world, I felt free and it was amazing. Finally we came to the small creek, Avery and I spent so much time here with our parent and Jake while we were growing up and now it was being introduced to Parker.
Shall we go swimming? Jake asked through our mind link.
Why, I believe we should, what about you Cecilia? Avery asked looking at me. I nodded my head furiously; all this running made me hot and sweaty two of the things I didn’t like.
We shall. I said, we all shifted, we weren’t naked like I expected to be, but we were in our clothes we had on before we shifted.
“How are our clothes not torn?” I asked confused.
“I think you have been watching Twilight and reading too much.” Avery said.
“Our clothes don’t get ripped when we shift Cecilia, it’s kind of like when a reptile sheds its skin, their skin is still there, so are our clothes.” Jake explained. “Ya know what I mean?”
“Suure.” I said, his explanation just confused me but I decided to go along with it. We stripped down to our underwear and made our way to the creek. Jake and Parker stayed on the shore while Avery and I dived in and started to splash around.
“I want to jump off the waterfall.” I said and swam towards the shore.
“You go ahead, I’m not going to.” Avery said and turned to float on her back.
“What about you Parker will you?” I asked.
“Of course.” He said smiling, he grabbed my hand and I led us up the small path towards the waterfall. The rocks stood about ten or fifteen feet from the water below, the water was a deep green meaning that it was very deep this time of year. I laced my arms around Parkers waist.
“Ready?” I asked. He leaned down and gave me a quick peck on the mouth.
“Ready.” He said and we jumped off the waterfall and smashed into the water below.
Around two we got back to the house Avery and Jake said their goodbyes and left Parker and myself alone, I was sad to see them leave, but I was happy I would get some alone time with Parker before we went back to school.
“We should go out Friday.” Parker said pulling me out of my thoughts. We were currently sitting in the clearing not far from my house.
“We just went out last night.” I told him.
“I know, but I think we should do something fun.” He said in a bored tone.
“I thought you had fun Sunday night.” I said kind of hurt.
“Oh no.” he paused. “No Cecilia, don’t get the wrong idea, I did have fun, I really did, but I want to do something exciting.”
“Okay.” I said cheering up. “There’s an amusement park in Thomasville, we could go Saturday.”
“That sounds great!” Parker beamed. I smiled at him and kiss him lightly, we I pulled away he seemed kind of shocked.
“I’m sorry,” I said out of nowhere. “I shouldn’t have done that.”
“It’s okay.” He laughed and pulled me onto his lap, I smiled so big I felt like a clown. Parker pushed his hand threw my hair and down the back of my neck, he pulled me into him until my lips were placed directly and perfectly on his.

I watched as they made out in the clearing, Cecilia was supposed to be mine. Just watching them making out in front of me made my blood boil, I felt my wolf howling to get out and to take control but thankfully I kept him at bay, I didn’t want Cecilia to know it was me, not yet at least, that surprise could wait until her birthday. As I watched closer I noticed Cecilia had pulled away and whispered something to Parker, that piece of shit mate of hers. He glanced around them and I ducked out of view before his eyes could land on me, when he turned back around to face her I took the time to leave before I really did get caught.
*Parker*
Suddenly Cecilia pulled away.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“I feel like someone is watching us.” She said glancing into the trees behind my back. I took a quick glance around to see if there was anyone there and turned back to her.
“No one’s there, we are good.” I said and kissed her once more. “We should start heading back.”
I stood up and pulled Cecilia to her feet, quietly we made our way back to Cecilia’s house in a comfortable silence.
When we got back to the house I saw a note tapped to the front door, Cecilia went up and pulled it off, at first I thought it was a note from her parents saying they were out and would be back later but why would they leave it on the front door?
“Cecilia, what’s wrong?” I asked once I saw the look on her face. She held the note out for me and I quickly skimmed over it.
Cecilia, it’s not very lady like to be
making out in an open area like that.

Who was this sick fuck? What would he want with my mate? I didn’t know what to think. I noticed the tears gathering in Cecilia’s eyes and pulled her into my arms.
“It’s okay, he’s not going to hurt you.” I told her.
