---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday morning Jenny and Adam were awake earlier than usual, their mother had just woken up and was happily surprised to see her children sitting at the table eating breakfast.

“Why are you up so early?” she asked poring herself a cup of coffee,

“Well we wanted to talk to you” Jenny informed pushing a chair out for her to sit on.

“Alright, I have work in half an hour though” she said sitting down,

“That's kind of what we wanted to talk to you about” Adam said,

“We think that you've been working too hard lately” Jenny started,

“Oh don't start with this again” their mother cried but was cut off by Adam,

“No mum, you've been working way to much and we don't want you hurting yourself.” he argued

“So we have arranged for you to go and stay with Aunt Clare for a few weeks” Jenny explained with an innocent smile,

“Jenny! Adam! You can't just ship me away to my sisters. What about you two?” she asked shocked,

“We are going to stay with Kelly, Rachel and Zack and before you say that we can't ask Tray to look after us, we have already asked him and he's fine with it.” Jenny said crossing her arms,

“And we both have a job and will pay for ourselves” Adam added before their mother could object,

“It is all sorted, Aunt Clare will be here in half an hour, We have already called in to work for you and they said that you have four weeks holiday time that you haven't used yet. So you are going and there is no arguing” Jenny ordered, Mrs Price looked at her children and smiled she was so proud of them. She stood and hugged them tightly squeezing all the air from their lungs in the process, before asking Jenny to help her to pack.

Max had woken up late and was racing around the house frantic looking for his school book,

“Max? I thought you had already left, your going to be late” his mother called as he ran past the kitchen, “I over slept, has dad gone yet?” he asked shoving a folder in his bag roughly,

“If you run you might catch him before he goes, have a good day” she called but Max was halfway out the door. He had just made it to Mr Rhead's car as the engine started, “Can I have a ride?” he asked jumping in and buckling his seat belt, “I guess I have no choice, don't want you to be late” his dad grumbled pulling off and driving down the street. “So why are you not coming to practice today?” he asked and Max gulped taking a deep breath, “I told you yesterday that I promised Jake that I'd help him study for his biology test” he lied with a smile as the car pulled into the school.

“Alright then, We will have to have extra practice tomorrow” Mr Rhead explained getting out of the car, slamming his door in the process.

“Kelly!” Zack called as he ran to her side during break, “I need your help” he informed grabbing her by the arm and pulling her down the corridor ignoring her shocked complaints.

“Zack, I was in the middle of a conversation!” she cried,

“Oh you and what's-his-face can talk another time” he dismissed still dragging her behind him until they stopped outside the headmaster's office. “His name is Tom and we were discussing the homework” she informed causing Zack to roll his eyes. “Why are we here?” she asked confused looking at the office door,

“That's a secret,” he said pushing himself to the wall and looking around.

“What are you doing?” Kelly asked holding in the giggles as Zack began to sing the mission impossible theme tune.

“Just keep a look out” Zack whispered as he carefully opened the office door to cheak that it was empty.

“What are you doing!” Kelly cried as Zack entered the room quickly.

“I'm just changing some information” he explained as he sat behind the computer desk and clicked on the screen.

“What!?” she screeched causing Zack to shush her before continuing to type on the computer.

“Live a little Kelly, you need to relax and take a walk on the wild side for once” he teased, “unless your scared” he challenged and Kelly scowled at him, “Just keep watch I'm almost done” he informed and she stood outside the door innocently watching for any teachers.

A few moments later Zack walked out of the room with a grin, “We have pizza for dinner tomorrow” he cheered, causing Kelly to laugh. “That's what you were doing?” she asked shocked before bursting out into laughter. “You don't even eat school food” she said shaking her head walking down the corridor with Zack,

“It would be really selfish if I didn't change the menu. Just because I won't eat it, doesn't mean everyone else has to suffer. Plus it is the last day of school tomorrow they deserve a little treat” he explained seriously.

“I can't believe we went through all of that” Kelly groaned.

“Oh stop moaning, you finally did something rebellious before school ended” Zack said wrapping in arm around her as they strolled down the corridor together.

Jenny was smiling happily as she walked to the warrior house after school, holding Max's hand and chatting aimlessly to Rachel and Adam, while Max was laughing at Kelly who was being teased by Zack as usual. “You all seem happy” Tray commented at they walked into the living room, stopping suddenly when they noticed a stack of blue practice mats.

“What's going on?” Zack asked pointing to the mats and dropping his bag on the sofa with everyone else.

“We are going to do some training” was Trays vague answer, “Everyone help me carry these mats outside” he added grabbing one side while Zack held the other and they led the way outside.

It was a lovely summer day and the sun was shining down on the field in front of the house, Tray positioned the six mats so that there were three areas. “Alright, Jenny and Max on the first mats. Adam and Zack on the second and Rachel and Kelly on the third” he ordered pointing to the corresponding areas. Once everyone was in position and ready Tray continued, “Today we are going to do some sparing” this earned a few worried looks. “Now obviously I don't want you to use full power with your attacks and I will be going around helping you, this is just a good way to practice and get use to actually fighting instead of hitting a wooden target.” he explained,

“I don't understand. What are we doing?” Jenny asked looking nervously at Tray.

“Let me demonstrate” he said stepping forward onto Jenny's mat. “Now just defend yourself and attack when you have a shot” he instructed picking a rock from the ground and transforming it into a deadly sword. “What are you going to do with that!” Jenny cried suddenly fearful of Tray who now welded a magnificent sword. “Just defend my attacks” he advised beginning to swing at her. Instinctively Jenny used a column of water to bat the sword away, Tray quickly attacked again using more power this time but Jenny used her element to block the sword once again. They continued this way for a few moments, “It's alright defending yourself, but you also need to find a space to attack” Tray informed between strikes. Jenny nodded her head trying to find her opportunity but Tray continued to produce attack after attack. Suddenly instead of batting the sword away Jenny wrapped it in her element freezing the water and encasing it in solid ice. Tray dropped the sword unable to hold it with the ice weighing it down, Jenny didn't hesitate before sending another ball of ice at Tray who only just defended himself with his energy shield. “Well done Jenny!” he said clapping along with Kelly, Max, Zack, Rachel and Adam. “Do you all understand what you have to do?” he asked receiving nods of understanding and excitement, “Good, begin when you are ready” he said stepping off the mat and watching as each pair began to spar with each other.

At first everyone was a little hesitant to attack each other, especially Max who didn't want a ball of fire flying toward his girlfriend, but slowly they became more comfortable with their attacks knowing that their partners could defend themselves. Tray had paired each group with a suitable partner that would challenge and build their attacks. He smiled at Jenny and Max who seemed to be able to distinguish each others elements before they could reach them, causing a constant battle between Water and Fire in between them. Zack had taken to the air to dodge Adams powerful attacks both finding their attacks instinctive. While Kelly and Rachel were finding it more difficult, Tray walked over to the girls. “Alright, Rachel you start with an attack and Kelly you defend” Tray instructed. Rachel nodded allowing her element out of the cage she had built to contain it, from the grass grew a thick vine that wiped at Kelly, who used her shield to block the powerful blow. The vine wiped once again and this time Kelly transformed it to water watching it splash on the ground around her feet. “Attack again Rachel, don't give her an opening” Tray advised watching as Rachel created another vine that Kelly instantly turned to water. Kelly transformed the mat beneath Rachel into snakes causing Rachel to jump away with a scream. “Kelly!” she yelled now a safe distance away from the snakes that slivered on the floor. “Transform them back” Tray ordered Kelly who did as she was told with a giggle.

“Sorry Rachel I couldn't help myself, I know your scared of snakes” she giggled as Rachel returned to the now snake-less mat.

“Rachel, I noticed that you were holding your element back. I thought you have overcome your fear of it” Tray said voicing his thoughts, “the reason your attacks are so slow and weak, is because you haven't fully embraced your element.” he informed and Rachel nodded her head, she knew that she was holding her element back but she didn't know how to embrace it.

“You should go and work on your element for a while try to find the connection, because without it you will be powerless if you are attacked” Tray warned sending Rachel back into the house.

Kelly watched her friend enter the house sadly, she knew that Rachel was finding it difficult to connect to the Earth and wanted to help her.

“Don't worry about Rachel, she will figure it out” Tray said, “as for you, I think I should teach you how to use weapons” he added picking up another rock and transforming it into a bow and arrow. “We will start with archery” he said with a smile. Kelly transformed her own bow and arrow and Tray instructed her on how to shoot it. After she had practised with this for a while they moved onto sword fighting. Kelly's sword wasn't as detailed as Tray's but she quickly picked up the skills to use it and soon she was sparing with Tray blocking his attacks instinctively.

As the sky got darker, training came to an end, with everyone breathing heavy and tired after working so hard. “I am proud of all of you, well done” Tray praised grinning from ear to ear. Jenny and Adam had planned to stay at the warrior house while their mother was away, only returning home to pack a small suitcase each, although Jenny's definition of small was completely different to Adam's, who complained as he lugged both cases through the forest.

“Jenny did you really need all of this?” he asked his sister,

“Yes! I need options” she explained, “You would understand if you were a girl” she added.

“Well next time you decide to bring your entire wardrobe with us, you are carrying it through the forest” he said as they finally reached the house.

“Oh don't be such a drama Queen” she sighed closing the door behind them and skipping into the living room where Zack and Tray were sat. “Where are -?” she began but Zack pointed in the direction of the corridor saying “Rachel's room” and she scurried off to see the girls.

When Kelly had finished training the first thing she did was find Rachel, who was sat in her room looking at a small potted plant in the window.

“Rachel, are you alright?” Kelly asked finding a seat on the bed,

“I don't know how to connect to my element, I've tried and I just can't” Rachel cried holding her head in her hands.

“Well, what is stopping you from letting it in?” Kelly asked trying to help her friend,

“I don't know I'm not scared of it any more, but there is something inside me that doesn't want to embrace it” was Rachel’s answer and they both sat in silent thought.

“Didn't Tray say that your element was like a child?” Kelly asked receiving a nod from Rachel who looked at her intrigued, “Well maybe the child needs a mother” Kelly explained, “You know like mother Earth” she added seeing the confusion on Rachel's face.

“But how am I suppose to be a mother to it? I'm just a child myself” Rachel cried,

“I'm not sure” Kelly admitted as Jenny entered the room, dramatically landing on the bed.

“What's going on?” she asked as Kelly and Rachel just sighed in defeat.
