The odd sensation of swaying slowly woke me from my sleep. As soon as it did it almost lulled me right back. That was until the realization I’d fallen asleep in the first place caused my eyes to snap open. The moment I did this I wished I hadn’t.

“Ah good, you’re awake,” Logan greeted as he gave a small smirk down towards me. “You were passed the fuck out.”

“Where-“

“I didn’t want to wake you up,” he cut me off, turning the corner tightly. “You talk in your sleep you know.”

I ignored this and instead looked around at the dirty peeling paint of the hallway we were walking down. Rather, the hallway he was walking down. My legs weren’t moving other than a gentle sway as they hung there. “I’m awake now. Put me down I can walk.”

For a moment he stared down at me as though honestly considering it. This passed as quickly as it came, soon replaced by a big grin. “And miss carrying you over the threshold? Never.”

I rolled my eyes at his teasing and set my hands against his chest to try and push my way out. “Oh come on,” I groaned. We both already knew he was stronger than me. He’d had no problem proving it in the past. Rubbing it in  my face seemed to be the plan as he instead held my body closer to his chest, nearly breaking my ribcage in the process.

“We’re almost there princess,” he teased, turning sideways to scoot through the door into his apartment. We passed through and he paused a few steps into the room. “Could you be a doll and close that for me? I would, but sadly my arms are full.”

I scoffed as my brows furrowed angrily. This was definitely not something I’d wanted to wake up to. Not in a million years. But when he didn’t move an inch I realized I had no choice but to go along with it. “I’m in, you can put me down now,” I insisted as I reached over his arm to push the front door closed as hard as I could manage while being squeezed in his arms. It gave a loud slam as it shut and, had Logan ever heard of art, pictures could have fallen from the wall with how it shook the cheap foundation.

He gave a dramatic sigh before setting me on the ground, moving as slowly as he could mind you. The instant my feet touched the floor I scuttled away from him, smothering down my mess of red curls. I’d fallen asleep in his car on the ride home. Lord knows what I said in my sleep. He was right; I did have a habit of sleep talking. That was the whole reason I had always avoided the whole sleepover scene. Except with Maver of course, but he was beyond used to it.

I was snapped from the mindless worry as Logan broke the silence of the apartment. “So I take it it’s past your bedtime little one?”

I meant to shoot him a glare but it was interrupted by a yawn that just had to pick the worst moment to rear its head. My hand covered my mouth as I tried to fight it off, my eyes closing as it passed through me. By the time it finished I decided to avoid his eyes and instead nodding. “I’m tired, all right?” I admitted begrudgingly. There was no reason to lie about it. The active hustle and bustle of the races had proven to be a little too much for me.

I’d go again. God would I go again! All of the excitement in the air was contagious! I didn’t even know who I was supposed to be cheering for but that didn’t matter. When the roar of the engines kicked to life it was like everything made sense. You had to get from A to B. You had to beat the other guys to win. It was simple and yet so complicated to master.

Surprisingly Logan dropped his teasing and instead nodded. “Maver’s home. I saw his car outside.”

Taking the hint I scurried off down the hall towards his room. The door was closed and I whipped out my phone for both light and to see the time.  Six in the morning already. No wonder I was tired. I yawned again and pushed open the door as slowly and quietly as I could. I knew that Maver was a heavy sleeper but I didn’t want to take any chances nonetheless.

I crept into the room, pointing the phone towards the floor to make my way across the floor. The dim light landed on a light pink shirt I knew wasn’t mine. Furrowing my brow in confusion I took a few steps further before I found a pair of jeans with a bra set on top of it. It was most definitely not mine. Even before I turned my phone’s light up towards the futon bed I knew what I’d find. I tried to stop myself but the curiosity was overwhelming.

Sure enough there was Maver’s broad muscular chest with a blonde topless girl laying on top of him. Both were fast asleep and both incredibly naked. My eyes flashed lower then I wanted them to and I fled the room with my eyes closed, the image of a naked Maver’s package burnt into my eyes. Oh how I did NOT want to see that!

I slammed into something hard in my haste to flee the room and bounced back, falling on my ass. The laughter confirmed that it was Logan before I even opened my eyes to look up at him. “Whoa there, what’s the hurry?” he asked, offering down a hand. I ignored it and instead pushed myself to my feet with a childish huff. It only caused Logan to laugh again as he watched me once more push my hair back behind my shoulders. “I know a few minutes away from me must feel like an eternity-“

“Maver’s having a sleepover,” I cut him off, not wanting to deal with his sarcasm. I met his eyes and when I realized he didn’t catch on I felt the need to add, “A very naked sleepover.”

For a second his face blanked as he tried to process what I said. It was obvious the second he did understand for a big cocky grin crossed his lips. “Well good for him! About fucking time. Started to wonder if maybe he really was hopeless.”

I scowled at him, not appreciating his word choice. There was no reason to correct him on it though. It’d only make him use the word more often to try and annoy me more than he already did. If that was even possible.

After a second his grin morphed into a smirk of such magnitude it made my stomach do a little flip. “What?” I asked, unsure if I even wanted to know the answer.

“Looks like you’re in need of a bed,” he responded, stepping closer.

I backed away, putting up my hands. “Uh, I think I’ll just take the couch.”

“You don’t even want to know what’s been done on that couch sweetie.”

I couldn’t help but wince in disgust. “I’m not sleeping in your bed,” I shot back at him. “I’m sure worse has been done in that then on your couch.”

Logan smirked, his blue eyes disappearing behind his black hair for a second. “Don’t worry Kara, I haven’t gotten laid since laundry day, it’s clean as can be.”

“I did your laundry on Thursday,” I responded, not amused.

“Right, three whole days of abstinence,” he nodded with a sly smile as he set his hand over his heart. “It may just be a record. I think I’m turning over a new leaf-“

“Oh shut up,” I grumbled, playfully pushing him away. I was unable to keep myself from smiling as he shot me a smile of his own, his eyes shining.

“Come on, we’ll get you something to sleep in.”

I looked at him skeptically but he already turned and started down the hall. I could do nothing more than follow alongside behind him. The entire way I couldn’t help but wonder what type of crazy thing he’d give me to wear as pajamas. Knowing him he probably had a whole slew of left over lingerie that girls had forgotten at his place. I stood in the doorway, glancing around as he started to go through his drawers. His room was surprisingly clean. Granted there were piles of clothes here and there, but that was expected from a guy in his twenties.

My eyes traveled downwards to the clothes being pushed against my breasts. Surprisingly it was a pair of boxers and a teeshirt. “Thanks,” I responded blandly and walked off towards the bathroom that I wasn’t very fond of. Nothing but bad memories came with it and I found myself changing as quickly as I could. The clothes smelt of smoke and some faint cologne I wasn’t familiar with other than the fact that Logan wore it.

I pushed from the bathroom and let my barefeet carry me across the dirty carpet of the hallway. As I neared his room I made a mental note that I’d vacuum in the morning. Lord knows if Logan even owns a vacuum. I’d already found out he didn’t have a broom. Just use a dirty shirt and push it around with your foot, he’d said. Wasn’t honestly a surprise.

“Ready for bed?”

I stopped dead in my tracks just as I passed through the doorway to Logan’s bedroom. He stood in nothing but his boxers in the center of the room. For the first time since I’d met him I was able to see the black tattoos that had always been barely visible through his white tank tops. Tribal spikes were littered here and there across his chest getting more and more intricate as they went downwards until finally coming to the main focal point. A black pistol angled down towards his package was tattooed into his skin with a wispy tribal patterned hand holding down the trigger, making all of the above tribal spikes look as though they were meant to be smoke.

My eyes traveled over his smooth hard abs that were exactly as I had pictured they would be. By the time they made it up to meet his eyes my cheeks were as red as his smirk was large. “Cat got your tongue Kara?” he asked when a few moments of silence passed over us.

In a second flat I went from embarrassed to snappy. “Where are your clothes?” I asked, my tone not amused.

“On you?” he teased as he turned his back on me. With a groan he stretched, his muscles flexing.

For a moment I forgot I was upset as my eyes scanned over his muscled back. A few bullet holes had been tattooed with blood dripping out of them. I found myself wanting to touch them to see how smooth they were despite how realistic they looked. The second my arm itched forward to move towards touching him I remembered that I’d been scolding him. “No, why aren’t you wearing clothes?”

He laughed, shaking his head as he fell chest first onto his poorly made bed. “I’m tired. I don’t wear clothes to bed.”

My eyes widened as they flickered over to the spot beside him. “I’m not sharing a bed with you.”

Logan rolled over, spreading out his arms as he lay on his back and smiled slyly up towards me. “If the couch isn’t good enough for you it definitely isn’t good enough for me.”

I set my hand on my hip as I glared at him. He was truly a pain in my ass. When I realized he wasn’t going to move I gave a huge sigh of frustration. “Forget it. I’ll take the couch,” I spat at him and did a 180, marching out of the room.

“You’ll change your mind when you see it!” he called after me, his voice muffled by the time I reached the dingy livingroom.

Determined to hold my ground I started to peel the plates and bottles off of the dingy plaid couch. After there was a substantial pile of junk on the already dirty coffetable I scanned over my handiwork. Spots and blotches littered the fabric. I hesitantly touched one to find out it was still moist. Instantly I drew my hand back, wincing in disgust. No amount of willpower would get me anywhere near that couch unless it was with a handful of industrial strength cleaners.

Begrudgingly I stalked back to Logan’s room taking my sweet time. I didn’t want to admit my defeat. The thought of a nice long rest in a warm bed was drawing me inwards and I found myself too tired to even try suggesting walking back to my place to crash in my bed. I entered his room and met his satisfied smile with a disgruntled pursing of my lips.

“Come to bed, I don’t bite,” he teased, patting his open chest for me to join him.

I quirked a brow, my hands wandering to my hips once more. “I am not getting in that bed until you put some more clothes on.” He opened his mouth to give some witty retort but I cut him short with a stern look. “I’ll start walking home if I have to.”

“Don’t be so drastic,” he groaned, peeling himself off of the bed. His legs hung off the side of the bed as he shoved his hand through his long black hair. “I’ll put on some pants or something, that good enough for you?” He snatched a pair of sweatpants from the ground and laid back on the bed, working his legs into them.

I watched for a movement before adding, “And a shirt?”

Logan looked up at me, his gaze holding his amusement. “Want me to grab socks and gloves while I’m at it? Maybe throw in a hat for good measure?”

I rolled my eyes and had to fight off a smile as he grinned up at me. “Oh ha, ha.”

He kept up his grin until I had to turn my face away to keep from smiling. I swear this boy was programmed to push all my buttons. “I’m warm, it stays off.”

When I turned to look at him, ready to tell him to just put it on it was just in time to see him crawl under the covers on the far side of the bed. I watched as he pulled the two most comfortable looking pillows and pushed them towards my spot, keeping the smaller one for himself. My smile betrayed me and showed as I gave a shake of my head. Just like when he’d admitted to staying up in worry when looking for me; Logan could surprise me when I least expected it.

I shut off the light and stepped across the room, carefully avoiding his piles of clothes. I made my way to the edge of the bed and carefully crawled beneath the covers. I made sure to stay as far away as possible without actually falling off of the bed. It was a bit dramatic of me, I admit, for the bed was at least a grand king size. Something about knowing that Logan was shirtless and just a few feet away made my stomach do a few flips.

Scratch that, ontop of me.

“Hey!” I yelped in surprise as he rolled onto me, burying his head against my chest as his arm wrapped over me and his leg hitched up and fell in between mine. The sensation of his warm body against mine made all my nerves tingle in response. “What are you doing?” I asked, squirming to get away from him.

He tightened his arm around me, his hard muscles flexing against me as he did so. “I’m cold,” he whined.

“You just said you were warm,” I reminded him, pursing my lips as I set my hands on his shoulders and tried to pry him off of me.

Logan didn’t budge and instead snuggled against me tighter. “Now I am,” he quipped happily back at me.

I let out a huff of air realizing that pushing wasn’t helping me at all. I pulled my hands away from his shoulders and instantly realized my mistake. Once I’d pulled them out from under him to try and get him off I’d given up on a place to lay them down. “Logan-“

Sensing my dilemma he acted quickly, the arm that wasn’t draped around my wait reached up and grabbed my wrist, forcing my arm down so it rested over his shoulder, my hand on his smooth shirtless back exposed where the blanket had been pulled down the slightest bit. “Shh, I’m trying to sleep,” he cooed, his breath warm against my skin. I could almost feel his smile burning into my chest.

Even with Logan being full of surprises he was still Logan. Obnoxious pushy Logan. Someone who never ceased his mischievous ways.  It was impossible to win against him. He made sure of it.

So instead I gave in, resting my other hand on his smooth warm back as well. I closed my eyes wanting the weird butterflies in my stomach to go away. I’d slept with Maver plenty of times. The boy was always grabbing onto me in his sleep. He was a cuddler by habit. I should be used to this. I shouldn’t have such a tingly feeling.

“You know, you really do have a great body Kara,” Logan muttered sleepily into my breasts making me blush profusely.

“Logan I’m not-“

“Shut up,” he muttered, cutting me off. “You feel good is all.”

I blushed deeper, my cheeks searing hot. You feel good too. I didn’t say it, lord almighty I’m not that stupid. But I did think it. I thought it again and again until I fell asleep with him still in my arms.
