Pihu's POV:

"What the hell is she doing here?" was the only question that was going on in my mind.

"Hi, Shlok and Pihu. How are you doing?" Khushi said, hugging Shlok first and then me.

Shlok cleared his throat trying to compose himself. "What are you doing here?" he asked her.

"This is not a way to welcome your guest son," Mom intertwined. Since when did she start liking her? Am I missing anything?

"Mom let us not pretend she is the same person you hated the most when I wanted to marry her," he shouted and I could hear anger in his voice.

At the same time, Aditya came by and asked "What is going on here?" He looked concerned and I assured him through my eyes that I was fine. I hate when someone shouts or fights it just makes me anxious.

"Nothing just Shlok's friend came by to say hello to him and he is acting so strange with him," Mom said sitting on the sofa.

"Mom," this time Shlok shouted and I flinched at his voice. Aditya came by me and stood beside me assuring me that he was here.

"Shlok lower your voice when you are talking to your Mom," Dad warned him. I can see anger radiating through his voice. I have never seen him so angry.

"Son we are here to celebrate your anniversary so why can't we do that," his mother said with a smile on her face. I don't know calmness that I could see in her face is something else.

"We can but first let me show Khushi the door," he said and stood in front of Khushi. "Why can't she join us?" she asked out of nowhere.

"Because she has some work to do," Shlok tried to give some reason. "Shlok I came here to attend the party as you were not returning my calls," she said with the fake innocence I have ever seen.

"See now she is also free so come Khushi join us," Mom stood up from the sofa. "Mom, what are you trying to do here?" Shlok asked as this was becoming awkward.

"Trying to celebrate the anniversary of my son and sweet daughter-in-law," the way she emphasized the word sweet it did not look as if she was praising me.

"Pihu come here," hearing her I went to stand beside her. "So Pihu which son should I celebrate your anniversary with?" when she asked that question the color of my face drained.

"What is happening here?" the voice boomed and it was none other than my Dad. Mom and Dad were standing at the door with a gift in their hand. I never wanted them to hear it like this.

"Mom please," I tried to control the fire which was about to start. "Why? Are you ashamed of your actions Pihu?" she asked, touching my cheek.

"What is happening here Pihu?" this time it was Mom as they came near us followed by Dad. Dad kept the gift at the side of the table.

"Mom not know please," it was Aditya who knew how serious the matter was.

"When you guys did not feel ashamed while doing it so why feeling shy now?" she shouted and I flinched at her voice. Tears started to flow from my eyes and I could not control it.

"Mom you are scaring her," Aditya came in between his Mom and me. He pulled me towards his side but I knew hell was going to break soon.

"Oh now I am scaring her?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "Khushi you need to leave," Shlok asked Khushi.

Khushi came in front of me and said "This my gift for stealing what was mine. If he can't be mine then he won't be yours too."

She had a sinister smile on her face then she turned to Shlok and said "Hope you will call me when this whole drama is over." Shlok was about to say something when she left not before kissing him on the cheek.

"One person was done more to go. What a lovely day it could be?" I thought.

"Can anyone explain what's going on here?" my Dad asked as they were clueless.

"I will explain to you Mom and Dad alone," I told them. "Why can't you tell them here? Are you afraid to say that you are having an affair with your brother-in-law?" finally she dropped the bomb without even taking a pause.

"Mom it's not like that," I tried to explain to her. "Don't call me Mom. I am disappointed in you Pihu," she told me.

"Mom it's not her fault," Shlok tried to defend me. "Of course, it's the fault of her husband who can't give her the love that she deserves," Mom scolded him.

Then she turned to Aditya and said "What were you thinking? She is your sister-in-law for heaven's sake. You both make me disgusting."

"Mom," Aditya tried to defend himself but was shut out by his Dad. "Enough of this drama. You are leaving this house and won't meet Pihu again," his Dad commanded him.

"But Dad that's not fair," Aditya told. "Aditya the decision is made and it's final," his Dad concluded.

"Now Pihu and Shlok try to work on your marriage and let us move past this ok?" his mother told us.

"Mom you need to understand," Shlok tried to make him understand. "Understand what Shlok?" his Dad raised his voice.

"Enough everyone," I shouted as I was done with their drama. It was my life and my right to decide.

"It is my life and I will decide with whom I will stay," I finally said to everyone.

"We get it. We are not deciding we are telling you what is right for everyone and best for the future," Shlok's Mom suggested to me.

"You already did enough for my future mother-in-law," I told her as I remembered I could not call her Mom.

"Mom Dad I want to divorce Shlok," I told my parents. They were shocked to hear it. "Why Pihu?" Mom asked me.

"Mom we were never really a couple. Shlok loved someone else and was forced to marry me," I told them the truth.

"That was his past," Shlok's mom interrupted but my Dad showed him his hand. "I need to listen to what my daughter needs to say," my Dad told her.

"Dad I wanted to talk to you but could not get enough courage. I decided to talk to you once you were back. I am sorry you have to hear like this but I can't live with Shlok," I told him with tears in my eyes.

"Are you sure?" he asked me. "Yes please," I told him. He hugged me and said "It's final my daughter is giving divorce to your son. Pihu pack your things you are leaving this house with us," My dad announced his decision.

"But you need to understand. What people will say about us," Shlok's Dad tried to make my dad understand.

"I don't care what people say. For me, my daughter's happiness is above all," this time it was my Mom who encouraged me. I was happy that my parents were supporting me in their decision.

"Pihu go," Mom told me and I nodded my head in a yes. I then went straight to my room and packed my things. I did not have time to pack I just picked the important things which could fit in one suitcase. I came down with my suitcase and when Aditya saw me carrying the suitcase he helped me.

"Aditya leaves it not your duty," his Mom told him. I felt hurt that she behaved so rudely with me.

"Mom not now," Aditya tried to make her understand but she was adamant. She came in front of Aditya and blocked his way. I did not want to create any scene so I took the bag from Aditya and started to move.

"Remember one thing. Once you take one step from that door you won't be contacting Aditya also," his Mom warned me.

"Mom I love her. You can't force me," Aditya told everyone which was a shock but not for me.

His Dad came and slapped him. I was too stunned to react to anything. "Enough of this nonsense. We have always forgiven you for your behavior thinking you are a child and will understand. Not this one," his Dad warned him.

"But Dad it was not in my hand to decide who to love," Aditya said with tears in his eyes. He felt disappointed in his parents.

"It is all because of you," Shlok's Mom pointed her finger at me. "I told you to stop if anything is going on," she made me remember the day when she warned me.

"If only you would have stopped," she clenched her teeth. "And you Aditya I won't accept her as my daughter-in-law," she informed him.

"Mom try to understand," he tried to plead but his Mom turned her face in a different direction.

"Are you happy now?" his mom barked at me. "Leave my house. Never think I will accept your illegitimate relation," she shouted at me.

"And Aditya you are leaving for London you will be staying there," his Dad told him. "Pihu let us leave," my Dad told me.

"But Dad Aditya," I wanted to be with him to support him in this situation. "It's their matter they will solve it for now let's leave," Mom tried to make me understand.

"We will be sending divorce papers first thing in the morning. Shlok sign it. This is the least you could do," my dad told Shlok with anger. He used to love Shlok but now he is just filled with anger.

"Leave before we throw you out," his Mom told us. "Take your whore daughter with you. Let's see who will marry her with this reputation," she said last sentence with so much venom.

"You can't talk about her like that," my Dad warned her. "What should I say to the woman who married one brother and having an affair with the other?" she asked in a loud voice.

"You should have told us that your son loves someone else," my Mom replied.

"She could have done something to stop making him love her. If only she would have concentrated on your husband more than your brother-in-law," she was spitting facts.

"I tried," my voice became so weak that I wanted to defend myself but could not.

"Yeah, I have seen you trying. Meeting your brother-in-law late at night in the garden, hugging him, and so on. I don't think I even remember the instances I had seen you but I ignored thinking it's just a phase and it will pass," I was shocked to hear that she knew.

"Maybe if you had spent half of the time you spend with your husband that you did with your brother-in-law your marriage would be right track," she gave the advice and my tears started to flow.

"Mom let us not accuse each other. What's done is done," Aditya tried to defend me. "Don't worry Pihu nothing is done yet. You think it's easy for you to live a life after this divorce?" she asked me.

"This society won't let you live and once they are done with you then you will remember my words," she warned me.

"Don't worry about my daughter Mrs. Kapoor," my Dad took my stand.

She snorted and said "Oh that you will but ask your daughter to never contact my sons. If she does then I will show her who she has messed up with," she warned my parents.

"And don't worry never in my life I will send my daughter back here," Dad said looking directly at Aditya.

I and Aditya looked at each other one last time before I was dragged out of the house by my parents.
