Erik was relaxing in his apartment. He was still having vivid memories of his debut match with Grayson.
It was really exhilarating. But he knew it wasn't perfect. There were a few things in that match that could've gone better.
He decided to take a couple of days off to rest his body.
He was watching TV when his phone rang.
He picked it up, and and smiled when he saw it was Lyra.
Erik: Hey you!
Lyra: Hey you!
They both giggled. He couldn't get enough of that cute accent.
Erik: So how are you doing?
Lyra: I'm doing great! Thank you for asking.
Erik: You're welcome.
Lyra: Are you doing anything tonight?
Erik: No. Why do you ask?
Lyra: I was wondering if you want to come over and maybe watch a movie with me.
Erik: Really? Ok. Sure.
Lyra: Great!
Erik: I'll come over at around 7.
Lyra: Ok. I'll see you later tonight.
Erik: Okay. Bye.
Lyra: Bye.
Erik sat there a bit surprised. He was a bit nervous.
But he calmed himself down.
They're just hanging out watching a movie. That's it.
Meanwhile
Lyra was extremely excited, but also a little nervous.
She looked at her movie shelf to see what they could watch, but she didn't have a lot of movies. Her shelf was mainly filled with documentaries and shows he probably wouldn't be interested in.
She then called Carla.
Carla: Hey Lyra!
Lyra: Hi Carla. Listen. I need your help with something.
Carla: What is it?
Lyra: Do you know any good movies to watch?
Carla: Why? What's going on?
Lyra: I invited Erik over to watch a movie with me tonight. And he said yes.
Carla: Really? Oh you go girl!
Lyra: Yes. Except I don't have anything he might like.
Carla: I might have something he'd be interested in watching.
Lyra: Really?
Carla: Yeah. I'll come over soon and I'll give it to you.
Lyra: Okay. See you.
Carla came over a half hour later.
Lyra: Hey!
Carla: Hey! I got something for you two to watch.
Lyra: Really? What is it?
Carla gave her the DVD.
Lyra looked at it. Her eyes went wide and her jaw dropped.
Lyra: Nightmare on Elm Street?
Carla had a big smile on her face.
Lyra: You brought me a horror movie?
Carla: Yep!
Lyra: Carla! You know I'm not a fan of horror movies!
Carla: Come on. I'm sure he'd love to watch this film. It's a classic. Plus you said 'Any' good movies. You didn't say 'no horror movies '.
Lyra lets out an annoyed groan.
Carla: Come on! At least you'll have Erik to cuddle with during the most frightening scenes.
Lyra still felt a little unsure.
Lyra: I guess.
Carla: Well I got to go. You two have fun tonight.
Fast-forward to early evening.
6:45 pm
Lyra was reading something on her kindle when her phone rang.
Her face brighten when she was Erik calling.
Lyra: Hey!
Erik: Hey!
Lyra: Where are you at right now?
Erik: I'm leaving my place right now. I'll come over soon.
Lyra: Okay. I'll see you then.
Erik: Right. Okay bye.
Lyra: Yeah. Bye.
Lyra put her phone down. She was extremely nervous. She has never watched Nightmare on Elm Street. She's not sure how scary the movie really was.
Some time went by when she heard a knock on her door.
She was very happy to see Erik standing at her door.
She opened the door, and saw he was holding a bag.
Lyra: What's that?
Erik: I stopped at a Chinese restaurant and got us chow mein, if that's ok.
Lyra: Yeah it's good. I do appreciate it. I am getting a bit hungry anyways.
Erik: Same.
They ate some chow mein while making some small talk.
Erik: So what movie did you want to watch?
Lyra: I got Nightmare on Elm Street.
Erik: Cool. Haven't seen it in a long time.
Lyra put the movie in her DVD player.
She was about to play the movie before she froze up.
Erik: You okay?
Lyra started to get nervous.
Erik: Hey Lyra.
She turned her head to look at Erik.
Erik: If you don't like horror movies then we don't have to watch Nightmare on Elm Street if you don't want to. We can just watch something else.
Seeing his face and hearing his voice calmed her down a little. And it gave her a nice feeling inside her.
Lyra: No it's ok. I want to watch it.
Erik: You sure?
Lyra. Yes. I'm sure. At least I'll have a handsome strong man to keep me safe.
Erik was caught off guard with what Lyra had just said.
Erik: Oh. Okay.
Lyra pressed the play button on her remote and the movie started playing.
Throughout the movie she got more and more nervous. She doesn't know if there were any jump scares. But she didn't want Erik to see her nervousness.
There were a couple of times where she would get frightened during the scary scenes.
At one point she incidentally jumped onto Erik's lap.
Once Lyra realized, she looked at Erik, who looked back at her.
They stared at each other for a few moments before Erik gave Lyra a smile.
Erik: You don't have to worry. I won't let anything bad happen to you.
Hearing that made her heart flutter.
She gave him a big smile.
A scream from the movie made her jump a bit, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and put her head on his chest.
He was a bit surprised for a moment before he hugged her back.
He tries to calm her down by caressing her head and back.
Erik: It's okay. You're safe with me Lyra.
Lyra lifted her head and smiled again.
Lyra: Thank you Erik. I really appreciate it.
She laid her head back on his chest.
They went back to watching the movie.
Soon they got tired and they ended up falling asleep on her couch.
The next morning
8:00 am
Lyra groaned a little as she was starting to wake up.
She felt a pair of arms wrapped around her.
She then looked up and saw Erik, who was still asleep.
She smiled widely, feeling extra comfortable with his arms.
Lyra's mind: He looks so cute while he's sleeping.
As much as she was enjoying this, she knew it was time to get up.
Lyra: Hey Erik. Wake up.
Erik grunted a bit as he woke up.
Erik: Wha- What?
Erik shook his head a bit.
He then looked down to see Lyra's head on his shoulder with a smile on her face.
Erik was a bit flustered at first, but was able to keep his cool and smiled back.
Erik: Hey!
Lyra: Hey!
They laughed softly a bit.
Erik: I guess we fell asleep last night.
Lyra: Yeah. I guess we did.
They laughed again.
Lyra: We better get up.
Erik: Yeah. We should.
They both got up from her couch and they stretched for a bit.
Lyra: I'm going to make some breakfast. Do you want some?
Erik: Really? You don't have to.
Lyra. It's not a problem. Besides I wouldn't want you to leave on an empty stomach.
Erik shrugged his shoulders.
Erik: Yeah. You're right. I am a bit hungry.
Lyra: Does pancakes sound good?
Erik: Yeah. Sure.
After fixing the pancakes they ate them.
Erik took a bite.
Erik: This tastes good.
Lyra: I'm glad you like it.
After they finished eating Erik thought it was time to leave.
Erik: I had a good time last night.
Lyra smiled brightly.
Lyra. I'm glad to hear that. Because I had a good time too.
Erik: Good.
Lyra: Before you go. I just want to give you something.
She walked towards him, got on her tip toes, and hugged him.
Then planted a sweet kiss on his cheek.
Erik stood still, completely in shock at what had just happened.
Lyra was still hugging him with a smile.
Lyra: That's me thanking you for protecting me.
Erik: It's no problem. Like I said I wouldn't let anything bad happen to you.
Lyra: I know. And I'll always appreciate it.
Erik: Well I better go. I'll see you later.
Lyra: Yeah. See you.
