Fontaine: Jaden! I can barely hear you!We've been surrounded. They're trying to get in! Blair needs that first aid kit--
Jaden: You're breaking up! Hello?
Fontaine: Come in. Jaden, come in! We need help. Please hurry. She sighs. 'I hope they get here fast, cause we're running out of time. Poor Blair. Without that medicine, her condition is only going to get worse, and with those things out there trying to get in, I could be in need of medical attention too!
Duel Ghouls: Duel me! Duel me. Let me in!
Jaden: It's no use. I can't get in touch with miss fontaine anymore. We have no choice! We've got to go rescue them! We may be their only hope! And I don't plan on lettin' em down!
Jesse: Jaden, wait!
Jaden: What? We can't just stand around and do nothing.
Jesse: We understand.
Haru: So we're joining in! We stick together!
Jesse: Hope ya didn't think we'd let ya do this all on your own. We're all in this together!
Jim: Sounds like a plan. Now while we're gone, Hassleberry and Alexis, you two take these supplies and make your way over to the gym.
Alexis: But we should help you!
Hassleberry: They'll be ok, alexis. Our job's just as important as theirs is.
Adrian: Yeah, we need to keep the gym secure. So you can't let it get overrun. It might be our last stronghold.
Jesse: Okay, Jaden! Let's do this!
Jaden: Alright!
Axel: Hey guys, I've been thinkin' about a way to keep those duel ghouls distracted. Trust me, I think I know someone who can wing it!
In the infirmary, Miss Fontaine was barricading the front door.
Fontaine: Those things will never get through this door now! She gasped when one of them comes through the ceiling.
Duel Ghoul: Du-ellll! Must...duel...now.
Out in the halls, many Duel Ghouls were wandering around. Winged Kuriboh and Kuriboh appear and grab their attention.
Jaden: Winged kuriboh's leading them away!
Jesse: That was a great idea, Axel!
Axel: And I'm just gettin' warmed up! Follow me! They enter an empty classroom. Now if the schematics I saw online are correct, this floor board opens up to a vent shaft. He pries the floor board loose. Bingo! This shaft'll give us a clear path to the nurse's office. There's no way those duel ghouls will be down here.
Haru: Then let's hurry.
Jaden: Everybody in, we're going doowwwnnnn! They all enter the vents.
Axel: So far, so good! Come on!
Duel Ghoul: Duel me. One of them appears.
Haru: Looks like we spoke too soon!
Jesse: You said there'd be none of those things down here.
Axel: Guess I was wrong.
Duel Ghoul: Du-el...duel me....
Jim: Little...help... Fellas.
Adrian: Listen guys, I'll hold this one off.
Jaden: You will?
Adrian: You just keep heading to the nurse's office. And I'll meet up with you there. This won't take long. Now, Jim, you go with them alright?
Jim: Got it!
Haru: Let's hustle!
Jesse: We'll see ya soon!
Duel Ghoul: Duel me.
Adrian: Okay, let's duel! 'That's it, Adrian, be the "hero" and make Jaden think you're on his side. But you better win this duel quick if you don't want whatever's stealing your energy to take too much. You can't risk getting too weak.'
Duel Ghoul: Duel me.
Chazz: The Chazz wants to duel.
Syrus: Wait up for me. The others peek out.
Haru: You know people always said Sy was a follower.
Jaden: Coast is clear! Now what?
Axel: We wait here.
Jaden: For what? They're gone! Now let's go!
Axel: Hold on! There's another one coming! True to his word, another showed up.
Jaden: Know it all! Are we just gonna stay in here? I mean it's just one of them.
Jim: Shirley, ya ready? Boys, I think we'll take a crack at 'em. Now let's go duel!
Jaden: Are you sure?
Jim: G'day! The name's Jim. Are you ready for a fight?!
Duel Ghoul: Duel me...
Axel: Jim, you sure you got this guy?
Jim: No worries, mate, just get those meds to Blair!
Jaden: Good luck!
Jim: Don't need it.
???: But luck is all any of you have! Ha ha ha ha! Hee hee ha ha!
Back in the infirmary...
Fontaine: That's one down! She then noticed one thing odd about the students deck. 'Am I seeing things?' She noticed a dark aura coming from the cards. 'What could that be? Maybe his deck can give me a clue as to what's happening to all the students.' She takes a card and analyzes it. 'It seems normal. I don't understand. There's got to be something in this analysis that'll tell me what's going on.' She turns around and sees more Duel Ghouls coming in.
Duel Ghouls: Duel...Duel. Must duel...
Fontaine: So you want to duel huh? I'll take you all on if I have to! Outside, some were still trying to claw in.
Jesse: Fontaine's boxed in alright.
Jaden: Yeah. For the time being. But we gotta figure out another way to get in there.
Haru: Axel, any ideas? In fact he did. Axel used his device to reach the ceiling and climb inside.
Jaden: Little back there. Hello? Huh? They look up and see Axel.
Axel: Up here! They climb inside.
Jaden: Okay, so what do we do next?
Axel: Now we set up another diversion. But this time I'll be the decoy that leads those things away.
Jaden: Then we drop down...
Jesse: And rescue miss fontaine.
Axel: Exactly. Axel whistles gathering their attention. He then readied his deck. Hey!Come and get me!
Duel Ghouls: Duel me...Duel me...
Axel: Sounds like you guys wanna duel. Now catch me if you can. He makes a run for it.
Jaden: Look at that! They're following!
Jesse: Jaden! Over there! That's directly over the nurse's office!
Jaden: And the ceiling!
Jesse: It's open!
Haru: That could be bad.
Jaden: Miss Fontaine, Blair, you in here? They all jump down.
Jesse: Are we too late? He asked looking around. They then see Fontaine with Blair. The boys sigh in relief.
Haru: Thanks goodness! You're both okay!
Jesse: Super! Boy are we glad those things didn't get in here. We were afraid we wouldn't make it in time.
Jaden: We brought the first aid kit! Blair, you're gonna be alright now!
Fontaine: Thank you Jaden, but I think Blair's gonna be fine without it!
Jaden: Huh? Ya' don't need it?!
Jesse: Why no--
Fontaine: Ha ha ha! I'm prescribing a different treatment! She said revealing she turned. To become one of us! So then, care to duel?
Jaden: Oh, no! They turned you too! But it's not too late to save Blair!
Haru: That's right. You guys get her and taker her to safety.
Fintaine: Submit to us, Jaden! It's easy. At least it can be.
Jesse: Understand this, that's not gonna happen!
Fontaine: Too bad, guess it's the hard way then. Which won't be much fun for you.
Jaden: Jesse, it's now or never to save Blair.
Jesse: Ok! What are ya thinkin'?
Jaden: Here. And while Haru's dueling, we sneak around to help her.
Haru: Miss Fontaine, get ready to duel!
Fontaine: Ha ha ha! Prepare to join us. You too, Jesse, Jaden! But first things first!
Duel ghouls: Duel...duel....
Fontaine: Down, boys. I want this one for myself! Time to operate! Ha ha ha!
Haru: Guys, get into position, cause it's go time!
Jaden & Jesse: Got it!
Haru: Alright then! Let's do this!
Fontaine: Ha ha ha!
Haru: Game on!
(Haru: LP: 4000)
(Fontaine: LP: 4000)
Back with Adrian, he just finished off the ghoul.
Adrian: That was easy! Now to see how jaden is fairing.'
Duel Ghouls: Must duel.
Adrian: Uh oh, there's more on the way, and this one doesn't know when to stay down. I can't fight 'em all cause I have to conserve my energy.
With Jim...
Jim: 'Alexis was right, those things are relentless. I took one of 'em down twice. Now to get back to the boys.' Huh? Arr! He was stopped by a group of them.
Duel Ghouls: Duel me... Duel me... Duel me...
Jim: Looks like I might be the one who needs some help!
Fontaine: My draw. And I summon: my nurse, Reficule the Fallen One! Her monsters summoning causes a shockwave that shakes up the room.
(ATK: 1400)
Haru: 'Not good. She summoned one monster and it almost toppled the place. I have to win this fast before the whole place comes crashing down.'
Fontaine: I'll end my turn with two facedowns.
Haru: Okay, I'll go! Now watch this! I activate Cost Down!
Haru: By sending a card from my hand to the grave, I can lower the level of one monster in my hand. So I can summon Dark Magician Girl!
(ATK: 2000)
The summoning of this monster shakes the room even more and causes the ceiling to break.
Jesse: The ceiling's giving out.
Jaden: I'll take care of Blair!
Fontaine: No you won't! Fontaine tried to stop him, but fails. Jaden jumps onto the bed and protects Blair from the debris.
Jesse: Jay's got her, Haru! Oh no! A few Duel Ghouls try to grab Jaden, but someone knocks them away.
Jaden: Huh? Jaden sees who it is. Viper?!
Viper: Haru, attack!
Haru: I was planning on it! Dark Magician Girl, let her have it!
Fontaine: Not so fast, Haru. I play one of my facedowns, Dark Cure!
Fontaine: You see when this Trap is played, your LP will increase by half the number of the monster's ATK you just summoned.
Haru: Wait, I gain points?
Jaden: Blair's not doing so good. Jaden said carrying her to safety.
Fontaine: And neither are you!
Haru: Why's that?
Fontaine: Because I activate Reficule's special ability, which negates your LP bonus and removes half your monster's ATK from your LP!
Haru: So that's why you played it!
Fontaine: Go Anti-Cure! Her monster fires an attack.
Jesse: We got Blair, Haru!
Jaden: We're giving her the first aid now.
(Haru: LP: 4000-3000)
Haru: Good to hear. Now I'm gonna give her a taste of her own medicine.
Fontaine: Well I don't think it will have time to take effect, cause I'm ending this duel stat!
Jesse: Haru, you gonna be ok?
Haru: Yeah, don't worry. I've still got Magician Girl out there. And she's about to send this nurse to the ER.
Fontaine: Think again! I reveal my facedown Brutal Potion.
Fontaine: Once this Trap is activated my Reficule the Fallen One gains 1000 more ATK. But it only lasts the duration of a turn whenever you take damage from an effect. (ATK: 1400-2400)
Haru: What?!
Fontaine: That's right, Haru. And here's more bad news, my prognosis doesn't bode too well for you.
Haru: Hmm. Well, since your monster's stronger than mine, I'll just play two facedowns.
Fontaine: And now, with your turn over, my Reficule's ATK return to there original state. (ATK: 2400-1400)
Jesse: 'If Haru doesn't step it up soon, Blair won't be the only one who needs some first aid!'
Fontaine: My turn. I draw. Now I'll play the Spell Bonfire.
Fontaine: I can now take a level 4 or below Pyro type monster from my deck and add it to my hand. Then I shuffle. Next I play Magical Stone Excavation.
Fontaine: Which lets me send two of my Burning Algae to the graveyard, and in return, I can take a Spell card from my grave and add it to my hand. Oh, and by the way, with two Algae in my grave, you gain another 2000 LP!
Haru: This can't be good.
Fontaine: That's right, Haru. Reficule's special ability activates and, those extra LP, are instead taken away from you! Go Anti-Cure! The effect zaps Haru again.
Haru: Aah!
(Haru: LP: 3000-1000)
Fontaine: Oh yes. And don't forget Brutal Potion! (ATK: 1400-2400)
Jaden: 'Haru's almost out of LP and she hasn't even attacked him!
Jesse: Don't give up!
Fontaine: I would if I were you Haru. There's nothing you can do that will help win this duel for you. Ha ha ha! And now thanks to my Magical Stone Excavation, I activate Bonfire! This Spell allows me to add another Burning Algaea from my deck to my hand! She summons the monster.
(ATK: 500)
Haru: So you're turning up the heat huh?!
Jaden: Not cool!
Haru: Guys! Protect Blair!
Jesse: On it! Jesse grabs a fire extinguisher and puts out the flames. 'Man, we're not gonna have a way to get Blair to safety until Haru beats miss Fontaine! And if she turns up the heat anymore, all our gooses are gonna be cooked!
Fontaine: Algae, attack Dark Magician Girl!
Jesse: 'If Burning Algae gets destroyed, it gets sent to the grave, and then Haru will get 1000 LP. But because of Reficule's ability, he'll lose those LP and the duel.
Haru: Hold it! Watch this! The Spell, Roulette Spider!
The spider spins until it lands on 6.
Haru: Perfect! Now your attack becomes a direct attack instead.
(Haru: LP: 1000-500)
Haru: That's was too close!
Fontaine: So you stopped its effect, but let's see you stop my attack from Reficule! Now go, Incectious Wrap! Her monster grabs Haru's Magician and destroys her.
Haru: Dark Magician Girl!
(Haru: LP: 500-100)
Haru: Okay, time to bring in my trump card. I play Call of the Haunted!
Jesse: Call of the Haunted?!
Fontaine: Your Trap doesn't scare me or my Reficule! You see, with Anti-Cure you're finished!
Jesse: 'She's right! With her Dark Cure and Reficule combo, Haru'll lose LP equal to half his new monster's ATK! Now if he summons too powerful a monster, there's no way he'll be able to remedy the situation!
Haru: 'I think I have just the cure for what's ailing me.' Now I'm summoning, Dark Magician!
(ATK: 2500)
Reficule's ability activates and tries to hit Haru, however the effect was rendered null.
Fontaine: What?! Kuriboh appeared and absorbed the blast before breaking apart revealing another Kuriboh.
Haru: Sorry, but thanks to Clear Kuriboh's effect, your damage is negated.
Fontaine: But then you won't lose any LP!
Haru: And I'm not done yet! I play Card of Demise.
Haru: This lets me draw until I have five cards from my deck and add them to my hand. Haru looks at the cards. 'Perfect!' I play Polymerization to fuse Dark Magician with Buster Blader to summon, Dark Paladin!
(ATK: 2900)
Haru: Now, Paladin, attack! Put her Reficule in intensive care! Go Dark Magic Slash! Paladin slashes the monster to ribbons.
(Fontaine: LP: 4000-2500)
Fontaine: Reficule!
Jesse: Alright! Now anti-cure's effect is put out to pasture!
Haru: And next, De-Fusion separates my monster and brings back Blader and Dark Magician.
(ATK: 2600)
Jaden: 'Since Dark Cure still in play, Haru gets a LP boost equal to half of Buster Blader's ATK.'
(Haru: LP: 100-1400)
Fontaine: Not fair!
Haru: Now, Blader, destroy her Burning Algae!
(Fontaine: LP: 2500-400)
Jesse: Great! With Algae goin' to the grave, Haru gets 1000 more points!
(Haru: LP: 1400-2400)
Haru: 'Time to pull the plug on this duel!' Dark Magician, Finish this!
Fontaine: Aah! The impact blows them all away.
(Fontaine: LP: 400-0)
Viper: Get going! Viper grabs Haru and they all jump out of the infirmary.
Jaden: Miss Fontaine? Duel ghouls? You guys make it?
Jesse: Are you ok? Jaden!
Jaden: Yeah, stings a bit though!
Haru: How's Blair?
Jesse: She seems alright. She's sleeping!
Jaden: Ha ha! Looks like she sleeps even more than I do!
Viper: There's no time to waste. Let's get moving.
Fontaine: Ha ha ha! We're not finished!
Jaden: Wha?!
Fontaine: Don't you see. There's no stopping us!
Jaden: I guess she made it!
Jesse: I summon Crystal Beast Topaz Tiger!
Topaz: [Growls] Jesse places Blair on Topaz's back.
Jesse: Take Blair to the gym! Got it?
Topaz: Yesh!
Jess: Let's make tracks!
Jaden: Ok.
Topaz: Tally-ho! They all follow Topaz.
Fontaine: You escaped this time.
In the gym, Blair was resting well.
Alexis: Her fever's dropping. The medicine saved her.
Jesse: That was a close one!
Jaden: Yeah.
Haru: No kidding.
Kuriboh's: Kuri.
Hassleberry: It's good to see Blair feelin' better.
Alexis: Now we gotta worry about saving the others.
Jaden: No joke...
Jesse: If we saved Blair, we can save 'em all. One at a time if we have to!
Axel: He's right! If we stay focused, we'll figure out the cause and effect of this place.
Jim: And also a way to get home! Right?
Haru: Yeah! So, uh, what about him? They all look to see Viper sitting against a wall staring at the floor in silence.
Jim: Get as much information out of him as possible. With his help, we might just do a a way back home and get a few of our questions answered.
Adrian: 'Not if it has anything to say about it.'
???: Ha ha ha!
Syrus: Jaden...come out wherever you are...You're my best bud. Don't you want to duel with me?
Chazz: Syrus...we'll take 'em all on! One at a time.
Ojamas: We're comin' after you...
Winged Kuriboh: Kuri!
Jaden: What's wrong? Who's out there?
Hassleberry: Who's not out there? The whole school's slowly turning against us!
