The loud horn of the yacht was the only thing heard over the excited teenagers talking. The ship was decorated in various stars and moons with a large banner that said, Junior Prom Your Date with Destiny. A loud engine of a motorcycle raving caught the high schoolers attention. All of them were surprised to see the infamous leader of the Teen Titans step off his red bike.
Robin removed his helmet placing it on the bike. He fixed his tuxedo as he looked around. A grimace appeared in his face as he dreaded what was to come. He definitely didn't mind the idea of dances. They sounded a lot more fun than the events Bruce used to plan.
"Ugh...really hoping she doesn't show." Robin said letting out a sigh as he pulled at the collar of his shirt. A light tap was placed on his shoulder making his mood even worse. He didn't want to face Kitten, but he knew he had to. For the good of the city, he kept telling himself. His gaze turned to his left side only to be pleasantly surprised by who was in front of him.
Starfire wore a beautiful light purple full length dress. She had on light blue gloves and matching short purple heels. A white corsage placed around her wrist.
"Starfire?" Robin questioned her as she shyly placed her hair behind her ear. "Star, you're supposed to be helping the others track down Killer Moth." Robin said. He was glad to see her, but he knew the rest of his team could use her help.
"Your orders were to investigate the girl. I intend to investigate her thoroughly." Starfire said with a smirk. "Besides, you may require saving. This Kitten is perhaps some form of ooze monster in disguise. She sure is ugly like one, yes?" Starfire asked her jealousy making itself known once more. Robin was about to answer when someone approached them.
"Well if it isn't the Boy Wonder himself come to crash my party." The girl in front of the two was wearing a black and red dress, black face mask, black gloves, and a pair of black heels. Not to mention the thin red velvet choker around her neck and white rose around her wrist. The sight of the girl in front of him immediately made a soft blush creep up Robin's cheeks.
"What are you two doing here?" (Y/n) asked the pair as she crossed her arms over her chest a smile evident from her raised cheeks under her mask. Robin opened his mouth to fill (Y/n) in on their situation when Starfire beat him to it.
"Robin is being forced to go on a date with a manipulative grimplork!" Starfire said as she had a fire powered by hatred and jealousy in her eyes. (Y/n) only let out a soft laugh. "You're telling me, you're getting blackmailed into going to a high school prom? I wonder who the lucky lady is." Robin was about to tell her about Kitten when she cut him off. "Well since I'm assuming this is your first date, you'll want to look your best." (Y/n) said as she got closer to Robin.
The pair was only a couple inches away from each other as (Y/n) adjusted his bow tie. "No offense, Bloom, but I'd rather not look my best if possible. And it's not even a real date." Robin said catching her (e/c) eyes with his masked ones. "Don't be such a buzzkill, birdbrain." (Y/n) said straightening out his suit jacket making a soft blush appear on Robin's cheeks. Starfire didn't even notice the pink on Robin's cheeks as she kept her eye out for Kitten.
"And the finishing touch." (Y/n) said softly as she brushed a few strands of hair to the side revealing a beautiful white rose that bloomed once the hair was out of sight. Gently plucking the rose, (Y/n) placed the boutonnière in the front left pocket of Robin's jacket. "There!" (Y/n) said before taking a step back. "I've definitely outdone myself once again. Handsome as always, Robin." (Y/n) said with a smile as her mask filled with soft pink petals.
"And you look extravagant, Bloom. I don't think I've ever seen you this dressed up before. You look beautiful." Robin said softly to the girl in front of him with a kind smile. The roses quickly turned red, including the one on her wrist and Robin's jacket.
"So, I'm guessing this is your plans for the night?" Robin asked and (Y/n) nodded. "Yup, just waiting on my date." The mention of her having a date made Robin raise a brow. "Date? You have a date?" (Y/n) only raised a brow at his question. "N-not that I don't think you're capable of having a date, of course. B-but...you have a date? Who is it?" Robin stuttered out trying to save himself.
"Indeed I do. Honestly it's n-" (Y/n) was cut off by someone yelling behind them. "Could that absolute goddess be my date? I repeat, MY date for the evening?" A voice yelled causing the three to look for who exactly was yelling. Robin was surprised as someone quickly wrapped their arms around (Y/n) and spun her around making her laugh.
"Put me down, you idiot!" (Y/n)'s laugh was loud and clear catching everyone's attention. The mystery person with red hair did as she said putting her gently back on the ground.
"Wallace? You are here as well?" Starfire asked catching their attention. "Oh my goodness. Is this princess I see in front of me THE Starfire?! Let me see the full picture." The teenager said gently taking Starfire's hand and having her give a spin to display her beauty. "Gorgeous as always, Kors." They said with a bright smile. Robin couldn't help but raise a brow at the other guy.
"Uh, Porcupine, who's the guy?" Wallace asked (Y/n) making her roll her eyes. "Robin of the Teen Titans, Wally West." (Y/n) introduced them and Wally raised a brow at Robin. "So...he's-" "Yeah." "Huh...interesting...nice to meet you, Robin." Wally said with a smile as he held his hand out to him. "Likewise." Robin's tone was as harsh as his glare as they shook hands. "You know, you're definitely a lot shorter than I imagined you'd be." Wally said with a light laugh only to be met with (Y/n) jabbing him with her elbow.
An awkward silence floated in the air as Robin glared Wally down. "So...this is your date?" Robin asked with a raised brow. (Y/n) was about to say something when a loud car horn caught all of their attention. The group watched as a bright pink limousine pulled up.
"How much you wanna bet it's her?" Wally asked (Y/n). "Of course it's her Walls. Who else would have a bright pink limo?" She said crossing her arms over her chest as she had a smirk under her mask. The group watched as Kitten stepped out of the vehicle in a bright pink dress causing Robin's mood to turn sour.
(Y/n) immediately was able to notice Robin and Starfire's change in mood. Robin had a look of pure disgust while Starfire's eyes glowed green just from looking at her. The super being glanced between the two and Kitten as a gasp left her mouth quickly followed by a laugh.
"Your date is with Kitten?!" (Y/n) almost yelled as she tried to hold in her laughter. "You know her?" Robin and Starfire asked the two. They would have received their answer if it wasn't for the two giggling to themselves.
"Yoo-hoo! Robbiepoo!" Kitten called out to Robin doing a small wave to him. "Robbiepoo?!" (Y/n) couldn't help but laugh harder at the stupid nickname. "Good luck, you're gonna need it." Wally said as he tried to keep his laughter down.
"Your Kitten has arrived! Meow!" Kitten yelled out to Robin as he glared at her. "Bloom, if you can get me out of this I will do anything. And I mean anything." Robin tried to bargain. "Not so fast, Wonder Boy. I want to see how this plays out." (Y/n) said as she crossed her arms over her chest. Robin didn't need to see her mouth to know she had a large smirk on her features as he sauntered over to Kitten. "Oh, please, friend Bloom. Is there nothing you can do to stop her?" Starfire asked desperately.
"Take a breath, Kors. It's just one date. Besides, it's not like he's into her or anything. Just look at how miserable the guy is." Wally said gesturing towards Robin while he placed an arm around her shoulder. (Y/n) knew that Wally's words wouldn't help Star feel any better.
"Don't worry, Stars. We'll keep an eye on him for you." (Y/n) said with a kind smile. "You/we will?!" Wally and Starfire asked at the same time. One obviously more enthusiastic while the other was immensely bothered by her statement. "Of course!" "Seriously?! You do realize this is Kitten we're talking about, right, thornberry?" Wally asked making her roll her eyes.
"Robin is my friend to, you know. Way before we were even friends." "We talking about the same Robin? Because I've heard of two very different ones. The one we don't like and the one you-" "If this will help Star feel at ease, then why shouldn't we help them out?" (Y/n) asked while Wally let out a groan. "But-but I hate Kitten." "Cmon, Walls! It's just for a couple hours! Please?" (Y/n) pleaded with him making him let out an over exaggerated sigh. "Fine, fine! You win. We'll watch over Robin for you, Kors. But I'm allowed to take breaks from her!" Wally said the last part pointing a finger at (Y/n).
"Oh, ROBIN! My DATE! ROBIN!" Kitten yelled so everyone knew who she came with. One of her hands raised to stroke his face before squeezing his cheeks together. "Don't you look handsome?" Kitten called out making Starfire's eyes to glow green again.
"Compliment me on my dress." Kitten whispered to Robin as she hung onto his arm. "No." He said blankly. "Do it! Or else!" She threatened making Robin's glare harden on her. "Nice dress." Robin said in a monotone voice while Kitten gasped dramatically.
"Ah! Oh, Robin! You're such a gentleman not at all like my worthless ex boyfriend, Fang!" Kitten yelled making everyone look at her. "Ex boyfriend?" (Y/n) asked Wally and he groaned with a nod. "That actually makes a lot of things fall into place." (Y/n) said more to herself than the others.
"Now, take my arm, and lead me in. And would it kill you to smile?!" Kitten whisper yelled the last part to the hero. Robin showed an extremely broken and forced smile as he grabbed her arm. "Maybe." He said before starting to pull her towards the entrance.
"Ready?" (Y/n) asked with an amused smile. "You owe me big time for this, porcupine." "Oh, don't act like we can't have some fun with this, Flashy. Besides, you owe me way more than I owe you for this." With that Wally led them to the entrance.
(Y/n) was able to quickly spot Kitten and Robin seated at their own table. Robin sat with one leg over the other with his arms crossed over his chest. She gestured towards the to for Wally and he let out a groan.
"It's not too late to tell Kors we can't do it." Wally said only to receive a glare from (Y/n). "Ugh, fine! Let's just get this over with." Wally said making (Y/n) laugh. "Don't worry, I'll find outs for you to go have some fun." "I wanted to have fun with you!" Wally said making (Y/n) laugh. "You make sure Kors has a good time, I'll handle Kitten. Sound fair?" "You know I love you so much, right?" Wally said making (Y/n) shrug her shoulders. "Yeah, I am pretty great."
Wally put on a large smile while (Y/n) held a soft smirk under her mask as they approached the table. Robin raised a brow at the two as they stood in front of the table. Kitten on the other hand glared at (Y/n).
"Hey!" Wally said with a smile. "Wally!" Kitten enthusiastically greeted. "You remember, Bloom, don't you?" Wally asked gesturing to (Y/n). Kitten attempted to intimidate the teen as she glared at her. "Of course...how could I forget?" (Y/n) simply held a smirk as she stared at her.
"Long time no see, Kitty Cat." (Y/n) said making Kitten's eye twitch in annoyance. "I'm sure you two haven't met my date, Robbiepoo!" Kitten said with a smirk thinking she'd won.
"Actually, Bloom and I go way back." Robin answered. He couldn't help the slight smirk on his face as Kitten's eye started to twitch. "Is that so?" She asked. "These seats taken?" Wally asked trying to break the awkward silence.
Wally sat uncomfortable at the table while Kitten glared daggers at (Y/n) for sitting across from her date. Robin continued to look anywhere but at Kitten while (Y/n) held a smirk towards Kitten. Noticing her friend being uncomfortable, (Y/n) finally decided to break the silence.
"I'm going to get us some drinks. Wanna come help me, Robin?" (Y/n) asked with a kind smile under her mask. Robin and Wally stared at the girl wide eyed. Wally's with absolute panic while Robin's were happy to find some sort of escape. "No, why don't I help you with those?" Kitten asked with a forced smile. "Works for me." (Y/n) said with a shrug of her shoulders as she started to walk away with Kitten right behind her. It didn't take long for Kitten to start bragging about how Robin was her date.
Wally and Robin sat at the table sending each other slight glares. Robin had definitely remembered the times (Y/n) had mentioned Wally to him and the other titans. Wally on the other hand had heard a lot about Robin from (Y/n). He didn't know the leader of the Titans well enough to form an opinion on him now, but he definitely knew enough about the twos past to worry about his friend's involvement with him. Wally was about to say something to the hero when (Y/n) showed back up with three cups full of punch.
"Where is she?" Wally asked as he looked around for Kitten. "I just paid some random couple to ask her about her 'super awesome date'. You owe me. Both of you." (Y/n) said using air quotes before pointing at both boys. She sat back down across from Robin.
The three chatted for a couple minutes before a song came through the speakers. Wally let out a gasp as he turned to face (Y/n). "Porcupine, wild thornberry, the absolute light of my life-" Wally was about to continue when he was cut off by (Y/n)'s soft giggle. "Go dance." She said shooing him away. "Really?! You're okay if I go? Just for a few minutes?!" Wally asked excitedly making her laugh. "Yes! This is your and Star's song. Go dance with her!"
Robin raised a brow at Wally. He didn't like how eager he was to leave (Y/n) with someone he didn't know. Sure him and (Y/n) knew each other rather well. But Wally didn't know Robin. For all Wally knew, Robin could have ill intentions. He didn't, but it seemed like Wally didn't care for her safety like he did. His glare only seemed to harden as Wally placed a quick kiss to her cheek before running off to find Starfire.
"I bought you about 20 minutes of Kitty free prom time. Why don't you go enjoy yourself? It's not like you'll really get to go to another prom again." (Y/n) said as she gestured towards the dance floor. "How come you're not out there?" Robin asked changing the subject to her. "This is your night off. You should be out there enjoying yourself." (Y/n) couldn't help the soft smile that grew on her cheeks as well as the light pink flowers. The rose on her wrist and Robin's jacket matching them.
"Can I be honest with you?" (Y/n) asked taking Robin by surprise. "U-uh, yeah...what's up?" Robin asked. "I really...really didn't want to be doing all of this tonight." (Y/n) confessed. "Really? How come?" Robin asked as he leaned forward against the table. Robin couldn't help but smile as he noticed a soft smile behind the mask.
"I do stuff like this all the time with Walls and Star. I spend a good portion of my time at the club and this is just a C grade version of my place." She explained. "I can see that. What would you rather be doing then?" "I would much rather be sitting on my couch watching some movies." Robin couldn't help but smile at the simple answer.
"I know it's not much, but-" "No, it sounds perfect." Robin responded. His smile grew as he was able to see the pink petals peaking through the top of her mask.
The music in the background changed and both teenagers turned at the sound of a loud excited yell. Wally was the one who yelled as he quickly made his way to (Y/n). Robin and (Y/n) quickly recognized the song as Low (aka apple bottom jeans aka the best club/school dance song ever). Wally looked down at (Y/n) as he lip synced the adlibs in the beginning of the song before offering his hand to her. With an eye roll, (Y/n) turned towards Robin. "I'll be back, promise." Was all she said before she was pulled onto the dance floor by her date.
Robin watched from the table as (Y/n), Wally, and Starfire all danced together. His eyes seemingly stuck on the girl in the red and black dress. The hero watched as Wally whispered something into (Y/n)'s ear causing her to push him away jokingly. The rose on her wrist changing to one that was mixed with the vibrant red he'd only seen when she was around him as well as the bright yellow when she was around friends. The colored rose definitely made more questions rise.
