Robin raced through the city streets on his motorcycle. "Range to target." Robin said through the headset connected to his helmet. Raven and Cyborg were closing in while comfortably seated in the Titan car. "Five hundred and closing. Should have a visual any-" Cyborg start to say before Starfire interrupted him. "There he is!" Starfire said flying beside Beast Boy. "Correction. There it is." Raven said as she stared at the beast.
A giant spider with a human body attached to it turned to face Robin's bright headlights as it stood in front of a jewelry store. The Titan car pulling up not a moment later to back up Robin. The beast's eyes glared at the group as it raised a gun towards them.
A soft gasp left Robin's mouth right before the creature fired the weapon at them. Both vehicles easily dodged the attack while their tires left scuffs on the asphalt. The spider creature took its chance and jumped up and onto the roof of the building. The titans watched as the creature started to flee before quickly going after it.
A few streets over, a teenager the group of super heroes knew all too well stood at the entrance of one of the various calmer alleyways in the city. An excited smirk was placed under her mask as she glanced down at what Gizmo had fixed up for her. She adjusted the black wrist, arm, and knee pads on her body before looking down at her feet where a pair of checkered boots sat.
The girl looked both ways down the main road. It was as empty as it was going to get. With an excited smile, the girl tapped a button on the side of her left boot with the heel of her right. Her boots started to change as two pairs of wheels on each shoe formed. She got into a position to kick off her test ride as an excited smile was visible even under her masked mouth. Using her dominant hand, she gently pressed a small button on her wrist pad. As she did, two small but powerful rockets formed on the outsides of the skates. The moment the girl pushed off, the rockets turned on sending her speeding down the city streets. An excited yell leaving her mouth as she weaved between people and a few cars.
The titans continued to chase the creature through the city. Starfire shot her energy beams at them, but they easily dodged. Robin fired at them only to have them dodge those as well. The Titan car caught up with the creature and got ready to fire at them.
As Raven lined up the shot, they were unexpectedly cut off. The missile accidentally fired towards the new figure in front of them.
Nightshade had accidentally cut the two titans off. Hearing the car behind her, she turned to come face to face with a missile pointed right towards her. She quickly crotched down causing the missile to miss her. Night didn't bother looking at the car as she continued through the streets.
"Robin, Nightshade is here." Cyborg said making Robin confused and annoyed. "What?! What the hell is she doing here?" Robin asked more to himself. "Not sure. She made us miss that thing though." Cyborg informed. "Titans, make sure to keep a visual of Night." Robin said.
"But we do not know if she is part of the robbery." Starfire defended. "Tsk I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't put it past her." Beast Boy said as he watched the teen impressively zip through the streets doing a few tricks here and there. "Beast Boy's right. I don't think it's something she'd do nowadays, but we can't rule her out." Robin said truly hoping it was just bad timing on her part.
In the team's distracted moment, the spider creature shot a ball of webbing. The was hit Beast Boy causing him to be stuck to the said of a building. "Super loogey. Bleh!" He yelled trying to free himself.
The spider continued to shoot webbing towards Starfire. She successfully dodged all of them. The creature moved on to try and block the path behind them. As they started to block the path, their eyes widened at a familiar figure coming down that way. They made the decision and left a small opening at the side of their barrier for her.
Night glanced up at a familiar face running along the building only to roll her eyes. "So you're the reason I got shot at." She immediately noticed where they'd left a path for her. Night crotched down again making it through the small opening. She'd sped up so she could be somewhat in front of the creature. She skated backwards as they both gave each other a salute of thanks and acknowledgement.
Raven had split the road into a ramp and just as they'd made it back to the ground, Robin saw the two's exchange. "She's with him. Don't let Night get away." Robin almost yelled. "We'll take care of Night." Raven said only for their windshield to be covered with the sticky silk webbing. "I can't see!" Cyborg yelled as they spun out. Starfire was the next to be hit. She watched Robin zoom past her before using her powers to free herself.
Night continued to weave through the streets. She jumped over a few obstacles here and there, did a couple spins, and even weaved through people and cars backwards. The rockets on her boots switching back and forth where she needed them for the best ride possible. She had a loud happy laugh leaving her mouth as she sped up. What surprised her was when green energy blasts were sent her way.
Glancing behind her, Night was able to see Starfire hot on her tail. A smirk appeared under her mask as she started skating backwards. Starfire and Night's eyes met. She felt guilty about fighting her friend, while Night merely saw it as friendly competition and a game. Night pressed a couple buttons on her wrist pad before getting into a position to push off. Star was about to catch her when the rockets on her boots changed directions. She sped past Starfire in the opposite direction going down a completely different way from before. It took a few seconds for Starfire to realized what happened before changing directions and going after her.
Robin had ditched his bike and was now swinging after the spider using his grappling hook. Robin was hot on their tail when the creature looked back at him. A bright pink substance left their mouth hitting Robin instantly.
Night had managed to lose Starfire. She was about to think about how fun the little chase was when her eyes caught something else. Night's eyes widened as she saw Robin falling straight down from a building. The sight confused her. Why wasn't he doing anything to help himself. She managed to see the spider creature. She knew exactly what was happening.
Starfire had seen her friend falling as well. She quickly flew through the air towards him. She raced towards him with one of her hands out. Starfire got closer to him. She was ready to grab him, but...she missed. Robin's eyes widened as he watched Starfire miss his hand. He continued to plummet towards the ground. He closed his eyes ready for the hard impact of the pavement.
"Gotcha!" The familiar voice made Robin open his eyes. He was shocked to say the least to see Nightshade. "Who would've thought I'd have to be saving your butt tonight, Wonder Boy." Night said with a laugh as she skidded to a stop.
Night pressed a button on the side of her skates with her heel causing the rockets and wheels to go back into the boots. She stood Robin upright just as the Titans ran up to her.
"Robin!" Starfire yelled as she approached them. "He is...okay?" Starfire asked Night as she held him up. "He will be." Cyborg said as he inspected Robin. "Thankfully that guy's venom is only temporary. Give it around 3 to 24 hours and he'll be back to running around chasing bad guys." Night said as she put her hands on her hips.
"Getting...away! We have to...go after...him." Robin mumbled out making Night roll her eyes. "Ah, just leave the guy alone. He's got enough to deal with. Trust me." Night said as she thought about the guy. "But he is a criminal." Starfire said making Night let out a laugh. "The only thing criminal about that guy is his girlfriend. Girl is a piece of work. He's a pretty nice guy though." Night said making the others glare at her.
"Wait...if you helped Robin...then you weren't with weird spider guy?" Beast Boy asked and Night shook her head no. "No, I was just going for a test drive. But I did appreciate you guys coming after me as well. Now I know I can use these to get away quickly and seamlessly. So, thanks for that!" Night said as she started to walk away.
"You...aren't...going-" Robin started to say only to be cut off by Night. "No I'm not going to help you. Your business is yours, Birdbrain. Besides, I got plans for tonight. This was just a little something to kill some time. I'll catch you guys later!" Night said before hitting her heels together again and taking off through the city.
Robin had been forced to go back to Titans Tower with Starfire. The teen girl proceeded to crack his bones while he hung upside down to try and speed up the effects of the venom. Her attempts surprisingly worked!
"Better?" She asked as Robin hung upside down. "Ah, much. Thanks." "I welcome you!" Starfire said with a smile. "There are few problems that Tamaranian acupressure will not solve." Starfire said proud of herself for helping her friend.
"Now we can focus on solving our other problem." Robin said pulling out his communicator. "Titans, any luck finding our jewel thief?" "We found something worse." Raven answered.
Raven, Cyborg, and Beast Boy were surrounded by large moth like creatures. They immediately started eating away at the support beams on the bridge. The bridge quickly started to become unstable. One of the beams fell towards the heroes, but they easily dodged.
"Teen Titans, go!" Cyborg yelled making the other two start their attack. Beast Boy turned into a pterodactyl while Raven used her magic to give Cyborg a boost. "Thanks for the lift, Raven." Cyborg said as he jumped onto one of the support beams almost losing his balance in the process.
Cyborg shot at the mutant bugs killing them instantly. He quickly moved to hold the supports together using one of his many tools to fix it before jumping down to join Raven and Beast Boy.
"Booyah! Huh?" Cyborg said and the three heroes watched as a swarm was able to be seen headed their way. "Uh...we're gonna need backup." Cyborg said into his communicator.
"We're on our way!" Robin informed just for the screen in Titans Tower to start to glitch. "Don't bother." The voice made Starfire and Robin stop in their tracks as they turned back towards the screen.
"Even if you defeat a few of my children you won't be able to stop me from releasing the entire swarm." A villain by the name Killer Moth threatened as an army of bugs stood behind him. "Unless you want your city reduced to a moth eaten wasteland, you'll do exactly as I say."
"What do you want?" Robin asked as he glared at the screen. "My demands are simple. The city will declare me ruler, the Teen Titans will surrender, and Robin!" Killer Moths tone was loud and threatening taking Robin back by surprise.
"Will take this lovely young lady to her junior prom." Killer Moths tone changed to a more neutral one as a teenage girl appeared on the screen. "Hi, Robbiepoo!" The girl's obnoxiously high pitched voice said loudly as she waved to the hero.
"Um...what was that last part again?" Robin asked hoping he didn't hear that right. "Robin, who is this girl? And why does she call you poo?" Starfire asked while Robin cringed at the before mentioned nickname.
"Her name is Kitten and you will take her to prom!" Killer moth demanded while Kitten made kissy faces to the hero. "This prom is some manner of duel, yes?" Starfire asked taking her glove off and using it to slap the girl in the face. "Robin eagerly accepts!" She yelled throwing her glove aside.
"It's not a duel, Star. It's a date." Robin informed sadly as he pulled her glove off his face. His best friend let out a shriek at the news of what prom really was. "He does not accept! Do you hear?!" Robin couldn't help but rub the back of his neck as he weighed his options. "Robin does not accept!" Starfire continued to yell only for Robin to grab her by her foot leading her away from the screen. "We're going to need a minute."
"Odium! Atrocity! Scandal! These demand must not be met!" Star yelled as she paced back and forth fuming. Robin simply pulled out his communicator to check up on the rest of his team. "Cyborg, report. How bad is it?" Robin asked while Starfire continued to yell.
"Bad! Can't hold em off much longer! If you're gonna do something, do it quick! Get Perci down her or something! We need help!" Cyborg yelled while they struggled with the mutant bugs. Robin had considered calling Perci, but as she stayed before, she had plans. He didn't want to ruin them for her. On the other hand, her plans would most definitely be ruined by a mutant bug invasion. Robin continued to weigh his options while Starfire vented about the girl he'd have to go on a date with.
"I have to do it." Robin said closing the communicator. "What?!" Star yelled. The power of her volume messing up Robin's hair. "It's the only way to save the bridge. The only way to give us enough time to stop Killer Moth." Robin explained while he fixed his hair. "But-but-but..." Starfire said while Robin walked away.
"I have to, Starfire, no matter how much I don't want to." Robin said while they entered the room again. He glanced at the girl still on the screen and grimaced. "And I really don't want to." Robin said before he walked back up towards the screen.
"Do we have a deal?" Killer Moth asked already knowing the answer. "I'll take the girl to prom." "Don't tell me. Ask her." "You gotta be-" "Do it!" Killer Moth yelled making Robin sigh.
"Kitten...was it?" "Meow!" Kitten said as she stared Robin up and down. "Right...Will you go with me to the prom?" Robin's voice came out just as uninterested as he really was. Starfire's eyes glowed green as she caught on fire burning up with rage like a match. "Ah! Oh, Robbiepoo! I thought you'd never ask!" Kitten said with a smirk making Robin's eye twitch in annoyance.
The call between Killer Moth and the Titans quickly ended. Robin made quick work at pulling up a number on the screen. The phone rang a couple times before they answered the phone.
"If I remember correctly, I told you I already had plans tonight. Did I not?" (Y/n) asked into the phone. She was currently in her bathroom getting ready. "Perci, we need your help! There is a she beast-" Starfire started to say only for Robin to cut her off. "I wouldn't be calling if it wasn't an emergency."
"Oh shit, the venom wore off already?" (Y/n) asked as she heard Robin. "Thanks to Starfire's acupuncture, yeah." Robin responded getting off topic. "Now, I'd absolutely love to drop everything! Leave all my plans behind just to help you guys out!" (Y/n) said with an excessive amount of sarcasm. "But?" Robin asked as he crossed his arms over his chest. A light smile on his cheeks from her tone. "But this is one of the very few nights I take for myself. Sure I go to the club sometimes, but we all know that still is work for me. Some little evil scheme one of the villains in the city isn't going to stop me from having my day off. And if they try...let's just say they're going to have to deal with me first hand. If that happens, I suggest you pull up a seat. It'll definitely be a show to remember." (Y/n) explained into the phone.
"But there is an awful creature-" Starfire started to yell only for Robin to cut her off again. "I understand. Whatever your plans are, I hope you have fun tonight. We appreciate you even answering us." Robin's tone was genuine making (Y/n) paise her movements. The Robin she'd come to know always put work first for literally everyone and everything. A soft smile formed on her cheeks accompanied by soft pink and red roses. "Thanks, Robin. I'll definitely do my best. Good luck with whatever you guys have to do. Later!" (Y/n) said before hanging up the phone.
"Robin! Why did you not inform her about this Kitten monster?!" Starfire yelled at him. "She's right, Star. She doesn't normally take days off or breaks even. She deserves to relax. Plus, she's helped us so much already, it's the least we could do for her." Robin said with a soft smile as he thought about how (Y/n) had been helping them out more and more with their missions.
"I do not agree with you not informing (Y/n) on the dangers...but...I do want her to be having the good time." Starfire said calming down from her previous state. "We've done this stuff before without her, we are more than capable of handling things ourselves." Robin said before getting ready to call Cyborg to check up on them.
