whatever distraction the poison calmed his mind gave was rudely stripped away in a days time
waking the chameleon back to the cold, cold cell that would be his forever home
the pain from his dislocated arm, a daily reminded of the complete loss of hope that surrounded them
everyone was dead
no one was coming
the deafening silence of the closing once more room did not help in convincing otherwise
he was tired
feeling so small
he could just wait for the walls to crush him
and yet something in his mind told him to not give up
An aspect that he knew "Eggman" kept trying to destroy
to fog his mind
if it had only been that simple
the doors slid open once more
but he knew who it was
"I believe I've given you all enough time, are you ready to behave?" the voice of Eggman coldly began
"all you have to do is give your devotion to me and all this will stop" the man continued to convince
"better food, better base, all this pain can end in an instant" Eggman offered
it sounded so simple and yet so desirable
how he wanted it all to be over
but nothing worth in life was easy
"no" espio answered indifferently
"no," the man asked with confusion
"taking advantage of us like this is true cowardice, and hiding behind that facade just shows it further" the chameleon growled as he regained some of his fighting spirit back
"you imply I am an imposter?" the monster questioned
"how you speak, the cards, the glitches, your performance, it was an excellent attempt but no amount of poison can hide the truth" Espio began as he shakily stood up
"infinite" the chameleon pointed an accusing finger at his captor
