At Phileo's room.
Phileo and his daughters have a rest together after their breakfast. They sit at the couch inside of the room. Luciana was about to sit at somewhere else when Leonia pull her hand.
"Lady Lucy! Sit beside me!" Leonia said patted the place beside her. Luciana just nodded and sit beside her. Phileo sit beside Leonia on the right make she sit between them.
"My Lady, here's your book." Connie said gave Leonia a book. "My Lady." Mina also gave Luciana her usual book. "Thank you." Leonia and Luciana said together. Phileo then turned at them.
Phileo looked at the cover of Leonia's book. 'Live is meaningless' is the title make he looked at her with blank face before turned at Luciana.
The expression of his face changed drastically when he saw the book at Luciana's hand. 'True, live is meaningless' is the title.
"... Is it the same series?" Phileo thought in confusion.
"Lady, after you done read it, can you give me the next season?" Leonia said pointing at the book at her hand. Luciana nodded at her. Phileo still looked at them with blank face.
"... What about fairytale?" Phileo quickly asked them, taking their attention. "They're too childish." Leonia said to him while Luciana agree with her.
"Kids at your age are supposed to read stuff like that." Phileo said to them. "I'm nearly done with the first season anyway. I'll read the next season that Lady Lucy's read right now." Leonia said as they continued read together.
"... Looks like Lucy's influenced getting Leonia." Phileo thought.
"... Where'd you two find that books?" Phileo asked them. "My library. I brought this books a few years ago but I love to read it over and over again." Luciana said to him casually. "And I borrowed from Lady Lucy." Leonia said.
"... Why'd you brought that books, Lucy?" Phileo asked her. "... The title seems interesting to me when I found it." Luciana said to him.
"From my experience, life is truly meaningless." Luciana said with blank face. "Me too." Leonia said with the same expression.
"I guess that could've been your realization. Since living at the orphanage must've been tough." Phileo thought. He stare at them before looked at Leonia.
"... Leonia, do you ever want to see your birth parents?" Phileo suddenly asked make Leonia turned at him but Luciana flinched from behind.
"Mister. I don't know who they are." Leonia said to him. Phileo and Luciana turned at her with wide eyes.
"I don't remember anything before at the orphanage. You're my parent and Lady Lucy is my sister now." Leonia said continued read.
"I don't remember anything about my birth parents. And I don't have any feelings for people I can't remember. It's just sad that they're just a 'secret' part of me. That I can't ever meet again." Leonia thought in sadness.
Luciana glance at her before looked back at the book. "... If I remember, my 'parents' abandoned me at that orphanage because of my eyes." Luciana thought.
"... But really. I don't hold any feelings to someone who abandoned their child just because of stupid reasons." Luciana thought.
"Do I need to remember?" Leonia nervously asked Phileo when he didn't say anything.
Phileo hold his arms out to Leonia and gently put her at his lap. He then told Luciana to sit closer to them. Luciana did what he told.
"It's fine if you don't." Phileo said to Leonia. He takes out the strawberry milk candy and feed it to Leonia as she eat it. Phileo then turned at Luciana to feed her favorite caramel candy.
"Well, at least you remember that, I'm now your parent." Phileo said to Leonia.
"I thought you'd forgotten since you never call me 'Dad'." Phileo said. "T-That's because I'm not used to it!" Leonia said in embarrassment. "That excuse is getting old." Phileo said teasing at her. "You wanna fight?!" Leonia angrily said to her.
"Arghhhh!" Leonia yelled as she repeatedly punched Phileo's chest but she missing it and Phileo didn't feel anything from it.
Luciana sweat drop at them as she started to getting used the fights between the father and the youngest.
Leonia then pouted at him make Phileo stare at her. "Leonia, let me see your eyes." Phileo said to her.
Phileo stare at her make Leonia stare back in confusion. "... Stare competition?" Leonia thought as she stare at him in determination.
Luciana looked at them from beside as she also confused why did Phileo suddenly started to staring at Leonia.
Phileo slowly activated his beast fangs and continued stare at Leonia. He slowly put his hand to Luciana's face to protect her from their beast fangs.
Leonia activated her beast fang with Phileo's power. Luciana feels the bloodlust from them make she flinched.
They eventually stop staring as Leonia brushed her eyes. Phileo pull his hand away from Luciana's face.
"... That bloodlust... Is it Beast fang?" Luciana thought in surprise. She already familiar with that power make she already recognized it easily.
"Mister?" Leonia said in confusion. Phileo glanced at the servants behind them.
"Everyone, get out." Phileo ordered them. The servants bowed at them and walked out to leave them alone.
"Leonia. I don't like beating around the bush. That's when people who don't have anything act like they're something important, when they really aren't." Phileo said once the servants left.
"Umm... Does he have the bad memories about it or something...?" Leonia thought in confusion when he suddenly said that.
"I'll be honest with you. It looks like you're my niece." Phileo suddenly said make the girls turned at him in shock.
"Niece?! So Leonia's parent was..." Luciana thought in surprise. Leonia also surprised when he said that.
"I-I'm just an orphan. You saw me at the orphanage, Mister." Leonia slowly said. "I don't even know where to start with this information!" Leonia thought.
"But your body has the traits of a Boleoti." Phileo said to her. "It's probably coincidence." Leonia nervously said.
Phileo touched her black hair. "Black hair is a genetic trait that only runs in the House of Boleoti." Phileo said taking the strands of her hair.
"The bold child got intrigued, so she bared her fangs at me on purpose. The sparkles in her eyes back then. I thought that was the flow of mana." Phileo thought.
In order to protect themselves, young magicians often let out mana as a natural defense mechanism.
But that wasn't mana.
"You know what's your fangs are, right?" Phileo asked Leonia. "Yeah. That things where your eyes change color and you get the bloodlust." Leonia said.
"You wouldn't have known, but your eyes were glowing back at the orphanage. That's because your power resonated with mine." Phileo said.
"Then, that glow just now... Was that because of that resonance? But it wasn't scary at that time?" Leonia asked him. "That because it's wasn't meant to." Phileo said.
"I just wanted to check whether you had this ability. The beast's fang resonate with those having the same ability." Phileo said.
"... Then, I'm a real Boleoti." Leonia said as she was in disbelief about it. She looked down on her hands.
Leonia suddenly pulls her cheek make Phileo and Luciana surprised. "Hey... This isn't dream, right?" Leonia said as she was hurt because of the pinch. "Do you need to pull your cheeks like that?" Phileo said as he sighed at her behavior.
"Then... Who gave birth to me?" Leonia finally asked him. Luciana also looked at Phileo to confirm about the women inside her mind.
Phileo didn't answer it right away. He takes time before answer it. "... My older cousin." Phileo said make Luciana surprise. Even though, she have suspected about it.
"She was the most annoying woman in the world." Phileo said as he remembers Regina inside his mind.
"Phileo!" Regina lovingly call his name inside his memories.
