Outfit of the Day
Violet groaned as her alarm went off causing her to place her head underneath her pillow "Shut up" she told the alarm as she didn't want to get up yet, and that quickly changed when she felt someone grab her ankles pulling out of bed "What the fu-" she went to say as she looked at the culprit and saw that it was Shawn. She still couldn't get over her birthday surprise all those months ago, she remembered how she couldn't stop thanking him the next day until he placed his hand on her mouth to get her to quit it. Moving on to today, she almost forgot that Shawn was staying with her again this month while he was working, as Shawn looked at her laughing "You forgot I was here again didn't you" he said as he turned off her alarm that was blaring. He knew that she had to be getting ready for school soon "You need to start getting for school Sky I don't want to hear Cory's mouth about you being late. Also I already fed the animals" he told her as he walked out of the room to allow her to change.
She groaned loudly again as she kicked her feet before getting up to take a quick hot shower which she enjoyed before she got out and looked in the mirror to start applying her makeup after doing her morning routine. Violet looked to see what she should wear and decided to go with something simple, when she finished getting dressed she looked at her clock and saw that she still had an hour before she had to leave. She pulled on her boots and walked to the kitchen when she heard commotion and sniffed the air immediately smelling burnt food "Shawn I know you're not burning my food" she teased as she leaned against the counter watching him fail once again at making breakfast. "I am and I'm sorry you know I'll replace what I ruined. I don't know how you cook so perfectly" Shawn told her as he dumped the burnt food away with a sigh.
Violet giggled as she walked in the kitchen pulling out butter, milk, eggs, bacon and sausage as she quickly washed out a pan and quickly got to work as she cut up the sausage and bacon before she started to fry them in a pan. She quickly whisked the eggs pouring milk in as she went before placing butter in the pan and started to make an omelette "Grab a plate please" she said to him as within the next five minutes the first omelette was done as she placed it on his place and began making hers. After hers was done, she quickly cleaned up everything placing them in the correct spot before grabbing two glasses pouring orange juice and brought it to the table "Breakfast is served" she said with a smile as they began to eat and once again Shawn melted at the taste of her food "Jesus Sky you need to teach me how to cook like this" he told her as he finished his food within an instant.
"I'm glad you enjoy my cooking" Violet told him as she finished her food and drank her juice before placing them in the sink and did the same with Shawn's dishes when he finished. "Don't worry about those dishes I'll clean them since you cleaned everything else. You took your medicine correct?" he asked looking at her knowing that she needed a reminder sometimes and Violet shook her head "No thanks for the reminder. That would've been a disaster" she said as she went to her cabinet and took her anxiety and depression medication. Violet looked at the time and she saw that it was time for her to go as soon as she grabbed her bag, her doorbell rang "That's Lucas I gotta go" she told Shawn as she walked over and gave him a side hug and whistled for Eclipse, who came bounding over with a jacket in her mouth and she already had her vest on.
"I like the outfit but it's gonna get cold so you can borrow my jacket. Now have fun, tell Cory I said hi and yes I had made sure she's all set and she has her treats in the holder" Shawn told her with a smile as he knew that Violet would appreciate not having to remember to do so much. She nodded a thanks as she gently took the leather jacket from Eclipse and placed it on and walked out the house smiling at Lucas who smiled back immediately "Shawn's over again?" Lucas asked as he noticed the happiness basically emitting from her and it was something he enjoyed seeing as he knew there was something missing and it seemed that Shawn was that something. "Yeah he is and I forgot he was even here again" Violet said sheepishly as they left for the subway.
After taking the subway, they began walking through the halls of the school as they could hear their teacher talking about young love "Ah, the end of the year. The weather changes, kids pair off, first love. It amazes me how the power of love sometimes guides the perfect couples right into each other's arm." He starts off saying as Yogi hops into a Darby's arm with a smile. "And sometimes it does that. But it's still first crush and I love this time of year. Probably because I don't have to worry like those poor sap, seventh grade father. Wait a minute!" Cory finished as he laughed before turning towards Riley who seemed to be waiting for someone, more so waiting for Lucas to look at her like they do in the movies. Lucas and Violet failed to noticed this as they were too busy catching up but what they did notice was Cory yelling "No!" as he picked up Riley taking her into the classroom and placing her on her desk before he closed the door in their faces.
"What the fuck Matthews" Violet cursed as they walked around for the other door just for Cory to close that door in their face as well as he looked at Lucas "Not today Chachi" he said to him from behind the door. Lucas with eased pushed the door open. "Sir, you've known me all year. You like me, admit it." Lucas said to Cory who shook his head "I don't wanna" he told him and Violet rolled her eyes as she walked to her desk snapping her fingers for Lucas to follow which he did. "I'm one of the good kids what are you so afraid of?" Lucas asked and Cory went straight to the bored wiping "Belgium 1831" from the bored causing Farkle who happened to be wearing a Belgium shirt to scream out "No!" Violet felt bad for Farkle as she knew that was the one thing in history, he didn't know about but she knew about and wanted to brag about it but decided against it as she wanted to know what Cory wanted to say.
"Okay, guys. It's the seventh grade spring fever, which leads to dating, which leads to movies, which leads to popcorn, which leads to putting your hands together in the dark touching popcorn, which leads to holding hands, which leads to that!" Cory rants as he points at Yogi and Darby who were rubbing noses together. "Oh, I am not ready for this." he said as he picked up Yogi and placed him in his assigned seat as he looked at Riley "Riley, I am begging you stay in Neverland, okay? No growing up." Violet thought that this was all too much as she really didn't see the benefit in dating anyone, she's never had her first kiss let along a date but of course once again it's the Riley show but what surprised her was when Farkle raised his hand. "The way I see it, i'm in an interesting position here." Farkle said to Cory who seemed interested "How do you figure Farkle?" he asked as he looked at him with a raised brow.
"Let's approach this as a scientific equation. You're scared of Lucas going out with Riley, right?" Farkle asked him as Cory scoffs "Oh, does it show?" Violet decided it was her best interest to join in "Come on Matthews look at him. There's a reason I keep him around" she pitched. Cory snapped his head into her direction "How so Sky? Why do you keep him around" he asked her and that made her smirk "Well for instance, he's handsome, good at sports and a real flirt. There's a reason he's every teenage girls dream" to which Cory screamed "He's 36!" Lucas turned in his chair to look at her as she focused her gaze on him raising a brow "Did you just call me a teenage dream do I look like a Katy Perry song to you" he asked as she blinked at him. "You're literally a cowboy version of Ken" Violet said to him and that made him squint his eyes "Whatever you say grape juice" he replied and Violet's eye twitched as she knew what he was implying "You wanna tussle cowboy" she growled.
"Give your daughter to me. I'll Give you four oxen and my best milking cow." Farkle interrupted the two as he looked at Cory, who looked at Lucas before looking back at Farkle. "Are you actually thinking about this?" Riley said in disbelief as Cory just smiled "It's a good deal" and that made Riley stand up. "I will decide who I go on my first date with at such time as somebody asks me" she said as she turned hoping Lucas would raise his hand or even speak up about asking her out, but Lucas was too busy getting scolded by Violet for calling her Mineta from My hero. After class, Violet stood with Lucas and Farkle as the latter said "Girls have it easy" and Lucas agreed "Yeah we have to do the asking" in which made Violet laugh as it wasn't all that simple. "All they have to do is say no" Farkle responded to Lucas as he looked at him, "Or they could say yes" Lucas told him and that made Farkle look confused "They can do that" he said in disbelief and that made Violet pout as she knows that all Riley and Maya do was reject him.
Violet looked at the two "You guys are unbelievable. Do you realize how easy it is to ask rather than be asked? Girls often have a ton of anxiety or nervousness hoping soon enough their crush will ask them out. I don't get nervous much on the whole aspect of dating though" she told them and watched as they took in her words. Lucas nodded as he could understand where she was coming from "I mean yeah I can see that but girls don't really ask guys out as they are afraid"he said to her as Farkle looked at him "Wanna know what I was always afraid of?" That made Lucas look at him curious "What's that?" and Farkle pointed at him "You. I know we're good friends and all, but I've always considered you a bit of a threat. Just like I know you've always considered me a bit of a threat."
Lucas couldn't help but to chuckle a bit as he nodded his head to humor Farkle "Yeah you keep me up at night" he told him. "But now I realize you're actually the solution to my Riley-Maya dilemma." Farkle told him and that peaked Violet's interest as she played with her ring "How so Farkle?" she asked and Lucas nodded in agreement as he also wanted to know the answer. "I just never asked one out because I knew it would break the heart of the other." Farkle explained and to anyone else that would make sense but to Violet she didn't see anyone's heartbreaking but his. "Well what if I wanted to ask Violet out?" Lucas questioned and that made Violet stop fidgeting with her ring. "And why would you want to ask me out" she asked confused as Farkle watched the two "That would ruin my perfect cycle of a plan."
Before Lucas could answer Maya walked up to them "Hey Ranger Rick" she greeted and he responded back "Hi Maya", he was confused on why she came over. "You wanna go out with me" Maya asked and that statement made Violet choke on her spit not expecting that out of Maya and neither was Lucas as he replied "What?" "Do you wanna take me to a movie and put our hands in the popcorn at the same time and see what happens, or what?" Maya said to him as she explained the 'Date' concept as Farkle ran over to Riley "Okay you and me cause I don't care" he said with a smile as Riley only looked shocked at the events. Violet wasn't sure what was even going on anymore as she could only stare at the scene, but she noticed Lucas never answered so she wasn't quite sure what to think.

~Violet's Residence~
"I still can't believe Maya asked you out and I also can't believe you even brought up the subject of asking me out. Cowboy you're not ready for all this, no matter how close we are" Violet told Lucas as they were laying on her bed, Shawn was out working again so she knew he wouldn't be back til later. Lucas looked over at her "I feel like I could if I was given the chance, I'm not saying I have a crush on you or anything it was more so seeing what Farkle would say if I chose you over the other two" he explained and she nodded as she understood what he was saying before she smirked "Maybe one day Cowboy but that's not today because today you're asking out Riley because to avoid any drama that could possibly even come my way you're asking her. She also likes you and hey maybe you like her" Violet said as she rolled over on her side.
Violet really didn't want to go on a date with anyone especially if there was a chance that she was someone's second or third choice, besides that she's never had a date before let alone kiss anyone and she wasn't going to start that anytime soon. She didn't understand the concept of love no matter how hard she wanted to, she just didn't. Lucas looked at her as he was conflicted on trying to convince her otherwise but knew it was fatal as he knew she was right about the drama "Okay fine I'll ask her, but you're coming with me" he told her causing her to groan "I'm tired of you dragging me over there." He chuckled as he rolled off the bed "Let's get this over with" he said as he placed on his shoes and watched as Violet threw a hoodie on before she put on her boots "You owe me big" she told them as they headed out to the Matthews' residence.
Once they reached their destination, Lucas rung the doorbell causing Cory to answer the door "You" he sneered as Lucas playfully returned the tone "Me" and Violet rolled her eyes at the scene. "Auggie's not home" Cory said as he placed his hand on his hip and Lucas looked at him "Yeah I'm not here for Auggie" he told him with a smile. Violet thought the two men were being unbelievably as she leaned against the wall watching Riley stand behind her father "Riley's not home either" Cory blatantly lied as Riley waved "Hi Lucas". After more back and forth, Cory slammed the door in Lucas face causing Lucas to push open the door as Violet followed close behind him, ignoring the stares from the girls. Violet saw Topanga and walked towards her "Great an actual sane person" she joked as she hugged the woman before they both watched the scene as Lucas lied back to Cory "I'm asking you permission to ask out your daughter."
"You tricked me!" Cory said in disbelief as Lucas smirked "That's right I lied right in your face" and that made Violet giggle before Topanga left her side at the call from her husband "My pleasure. Lucas, you are about the most charming young man I have ever met." "Yeah!" Cory agreed before he realized what she had said and at this point Violet was tired of all the back and forth and did what she did best, zone out. She soon came to her senses at the sound of a door opening, "Hey Kiddies" Josh greeted as he came in and Maya swooned at the sight of him watching him and Cory greet each other. "I come with good news. I'm joining N.Y.U. Pre-college program so i'll be here all summer." Josh told the group and Violet couldn't help but to be proud of him as she knew that was one of his goals. "Josh, would you do me a favor and explain to your niece that she is way too young to go out on her first date?" Cory asked his brother as he pushed him towards Riley.
"Niece, what kept you going so long? Welcome to the party, guys. Enjoy" Josh said with a smile as bumped Riley closer to Lucas causing Cory to growl "Get out of my house!" "I'll go to the party with you, Josh" Maya told him with a flirtatious smile. Josh shut the idea immediately "Still too old for you, Maya." and Violet couldn't help but to laugh causing Josh to notice her "Dang Sky I didn't even realize you were here" he told her with a smile as he walked over to her to avoid Maya who seem to glare at Violet before she focused her attention elsewhere. "Story of my life. Also congrats on getting in. I remembered you telling me about you applying, sooner or later when you get in and I know you will. You'll maybe be seeing me" Violet told him with a wink. "Can't wait and as much as I love to stay and talk I have my first appointment with my campus advisor downstairs." he told her as he gave her a quick fist bump before heading out with Cory slamming the door behind him.
"So I have everybody's permission except Mr. Matthews" Lucas said as Cory looked at him "Lucas, I like you. I really do. But do I look like the kind of guy that would let his child go out on a date this young?" he asked him and as if karma was biting him in the ass, Auggie came running in with his girlfriend Ava "I put a ring on it." Violet enjoyed watching Topanga and Ava go at it before Farkle came in the door "Greetings, Matthews, I've come to ask Riley out on her first date now that Maya has asked out Lucas" and Cory looked confused as he turned to Maya "What? Why would you do that?" And once again Violet got bored, she hated Lucas for dragging her to this slump fest, she could've been home watching her cartoons until Shawn came home. "Damn it Matthews just give the boy permission to date Riley" Violet groaned and Cory blinked looking at Violet "I'm not even gonna question when did you get here but I'll give it to him on one condition" he told her as he trusted her judgment in a person more than anything.
Violet looked unsure "And that's what exactly" she asked as Cory had a mischievous look on his face "I want this to be a double date. Okay? If you are gonna go out with him." he said as he moved Riley towards Lucas before doing the same with Maya and Farkle "Then you are gonna go out with him" he said with a laughter. Violet didn't see the harm in it as she shrugged "Sounds good to me" she said and that made Cory laugh more, "I wasn't done while this double date is happening. You're going to chaperone" he told and that made her send a glare to Lucas. "I told you I should've stayed home" she said to him before she agreed to the terms "Sure whatever and now that's that settled I'm going home" she said as she left and Lucas soon followed after. The whole way home Violet was glaring at Lucas, who was nervous of the outcome of what she would do to him.
"I'm sorry Sky" Lucas tried to apologize when they walked into her room, but he was met with a punch to the stomach which made him double over as she put power in the hit. "Now I forgive you" Violet told him as she breathed out her anger as Lucas rubbed his stomach "At least it wasn't my face this time" he said to her and sat down. Violet didn't feel bad not one bit as she looked through her dresser "Do you know what you're wearing to your date" she asked him, she knew she didn't have to over dress as she was only a chaperone. Lucas thought about it before he nodded "Yeah it's not like we're going on actual date I'm pretty sure we're just riding the subway" he told her as he decided he was just going to dress casual.

Violet stood at the subway with Lucas and Farkle as they waited for Riley and Maya to show up, "You know Spitfire, for someone who doesn't have a date you dressed up well" Farkle complimented her with a smile. She threw the boy a smile "Thanks Farkle you look nice as well. Maya is a lucky lady" she told him as the girls finally made their appearance, Farkle was the first to speak "Oh my gosh, look at Maya. She's giving me like eighty-four percent. I expected a cat t-shirt and sweatpants, but look at her." Farkle looked at Maya "Hey Maya, let's run towards each other in slow motion" he suggested as he started to move in slow motion as he said her name "Maya!" Maya immediately shut down the idea "No!" not wanting anything to do with it "Farkle, Who else would-" she started to say before realizing Riley was doing it and stopped her.
Violet watched the couples mingle as the train finally arrived "Thank god" she muttered as she got on the train and stood against a pole and noticed Josh talking to a pretty girl, she was happy for him. She decided to eavesdrop without making it noticeable as she watched the girl get up to leave "Sophie, Sophie, um I thought we connected pretty well" Josh said to Sophie who looked at him. "I'm a junior, Junior. I got a couple years on you don't I?" Sophie said to him causing Josh's face to be a look of disbelief "What's three years? You think three years matters at our age?" he asked her causing her to nod "Yeah I do" before she stepped off the train. Violet couldn't help but feel bad as she walked over to him sitting next to him "Hey big fella" she greeted him.
Maya had the same idea to comfort him, but of course Violet got to him first which made her jealous and frustrated as she was forced to stay in her spot. Josh looked up in surprise "Sky? I'm taking it you saw the whole thing" he had asked her embarrassed as she nodded "Yeah I did. If she can't see how nice of a guy you are then she's not for you" Violet told him as she wrapped an arm around his shoulder. Riley, who saw Maya looking down, checked the scene and saw Violet and Josh sitting together as she looked at Lucas "Lucas?" Lucas understood that she wanted to comfort her friend and smiled "Go over there, Riley Be with your best friend. I had a good time" he reassured her and she immediately went to Maya.
Violet stroked Josh's cheek slightly before she removed her arm "How about I take you out for ice cream after I finish being a chaperone?" she offered him and he couldn't help but to smile as it did make him feel slightly better about the situation "Yeah that sounds nice. Just text me and I'll meet you there" he told as he went to get up. Maya who saw the scene was shaking in her boots from frustration "I can't deal with heartbreak 2 times with him Riles, I'm going to say something" she told her before storming over to the two, giving Riley no room to talk. "Oh hi Josh didn't see you there. Did you know that Violet is only pretending to be friends with you? She doesn't even like you, you should be friends with someone who actually cares unlike her" Maya ranted as Josh looked at her in surprise.
Violet raised a brow at Maya's accusation as she felt Josh's gaze on her "Believe her if you want Josh, she's only jealous that I'm able to talk and connect with you and you guys have a long game age gap thing going on that makes no sense to me as it just sounds illegal" she told him before she looked at Maya. "Hart, you're once again in my business when you know you shouldn't be. I've done more than enough for you to get off my back and yet here you are being an immature brat with a raging jealousy over a guy who doesn't even like you back and is only sparing your feelings. I suggest you go back to your little friends before I cause an actual scene" Violet told her as she had so much distain in her eyes. She already didn't want to be on the date with the group in the first place, she wasn't going to deal with the disrespect as she felt Josh take her hand as she didn't notice she was digging her nails into her hand.
Josh couldn't believe his ears as he looked between the two girls "I believe you Sky. Maya I honestly thought better of you but if this is who you are then I guess I don't know you" he said as he got up "Text me when you're ready" he told Violet as he got off the train. Maya opened her mouth to speak "Josh I-" but it was too late he was already gone as she walked back to Riley who seemed disappointed "Riles I- I don't know what got a hold of me" she told her. Riley only shook her head "Maya you were wrong, sometimes it's best to say nothing when you're angry" she said to her and Maya knew she had to make it to her as she unlatched Riley's hands making her fall into Lucas lap. Violet let out a deep breath as she gripped her pants trying to calm herself down.
Lucas smiled politely at Riley when she fell into his lap just like the day they first met and just like that day, his feelings for Riley were clear, he only saw her as a friend. "You know those moments that you were talking about that we're going to remember forever?" Riley had asked Lucas making him nod "Yeah?" he responded and saw her close her eyes and lean in for a kiss. He felt bad but he knew better than to kiss her as he turned his head at the last second making her kiss his cheek. Riley felt slightly disappointed that he wasn't her first kiss, but felt proud that she had the courage to even kiss him. Farkle saw the situation and immediately ran to Maya who had her hand out as he made out with it passionately "Not bad Farkle" she said impressed as he smirked "Tell your friends." Violet saw the whole ordeal and made a note to herself to ask Lucas about the kiss when they made it home.
After the date, Violet looked at Lucas in question "So a cheek kiss huh?" she teased as Lucas rolled his eyes "My first kiss will be on my terms. How about you? How you feeling after that whole Maya-Josh madness?" Violet stared at him "That's smart and ugh don't even remind me. If she doesn't stay out of my way she will get punched at some point and I won't feel bad about it. Speaking of Josh, I need to raincheck him. My social battery isn't up to going back outside" she said as she pulled out her phone and texted him and was glad that he understood before he wished her a good night. She let out a yawn as she looked back at Lucas "I'm sleepy and Shawn should be home soon, we can hang out tomorrow after all it is summer break" she told him causing Lucas to nod and gave her a hug before leaving as he came face to face with Shawn once he reached the front door "Night Mr. Hunter" he said to him before heading out.
"Gem?" Shawn called out to her with Chinese take out in his hands as he placed it on the table knowing that it was her favorite. "Coming!" Violet called out as she was pulling off her shoes and ran into the living room to see Shawn as she did her signature koala bear hug "Hi" she greeted as she wrapped her arms and legs around him. Shawn had caught her as he always does as he held her legs "Well don't you look nice. Don't tell me you and Lucas went out on a date and you didn't tell me" he said to her causing her to shake her head. "More like he tried to ask me but I pushed him to Riley and so him and Riley had a date and Maya and Farkle had a date. It was a double date thanks to Cory because it was the condition for Riley to go with Lucas and he made me the chaperone which pissed me off" she explained with a pout.
Shawn raised a brow "You rejected Lucas? I thought you two had a thing going on I guess I was wrong. But any who guess what's for dinner" he told her as he carried her to the kitchen and he could feel the energy wanting to burst out of her once he heard her smell. "You got us Chinese food ugh you do love me" Violet said in excitement as she released from the hug and stood next to the food stimming in excitement before she realized what he said to her. "The only thing me and Lucas got going on is us being best friends. And yes I rejected him I didn't want to deal with Riley getting upset that her crush asked me out plus I've never been on a first date before and I rather it not be on a subway" she explained as she opened the food and grabbed her special chopsticks from the drawer. "Aren't you going to change before you eat?" Shawn asked as Violet pouted "Fine but I'm not showering until the morning I don't even stink" she mumbled as she stomped to her room.
Not even 10 minutes later, Violet came back out with a bare face and comfy pajamas on as she grabbed her food and chopsticks "We're eating in the room right? I wanna watch Madagascar" she asked him with puppy eyes knowing he couldn't resist them. Shawn looked at her with a smile "Yeah of course we can" he told her as they carried their food to her room and carefully placed on her bed "I'm gonna change real quick" Shawn said to her as he went to the other room to change. Violet smiled in content as she was really getting use to having Shawn around, but she knew soon enough he would have to leave her once again and she wasn't ready for it, she never was but she knew he would be back. She shook her head as she knew better than to dwell as she turned on the TV and went to Madagascar as Shawn came back "Alrighty! Food time" he announced as the two got into their usual spots.
Violet pressed play as she grabbed her chopsticks and started to eat and noticed Shawn looking at her "I forgot you knew how to use those. I wish I knew how" he told her as he ate with his fork. She raised a brow as she plopped the rice in her mouth before she handed her sticks over to him "I'll teach you and then we can get you some of your own" she told as she positioned his fingers accordingly. After a few fails, Shawn started to get the hang of it before he handed them back "Well now I can knock that off my bucket list" he joked as he went back to his fork. The two enjoyed their meal as they made jokes back and forth as the movie went and Violet couldn't be happier. Soon enough the movie was about over and Violet managed to fall asleep against Shawn's chest. Shawn smiled "Night my little gem" he said to her as he kissed her head and switched the TV to a show before he dozed off himself.

"Girl Meets First Date"
Disclaimer: Hope you guys enjoy! Please tell me what you guys think :). Clearly Lucas likes Violet but won't admit and Violet doesn't like anyone at the moment as she doesn't know what it's like to like someone or even love someone. Question for you guys, should I make a chapter about what she does over the summer or should I just go to season 2. Also feel free to give me ideas of chapters to write that aren't in the show for Violet. But again ty for the support!
