Please do not copy the diary entries. They belong to the author, I would not be sharing any of them if I did not purposefully comment and respond to almost every other sentence. And FYI STARTING AT P9 of the annotation the book is not for the age group below high-school as there are really dark stuff coming up. Unless you use it as a model to write your own example of annotation or a challenging writing prompt to follow NEVER COPY IT EVER. I will never put this book in stores or on another website either. This is a solo Wattpad story only and only exists for the convenience of those who wish to catch onto several writing skills and practiced them, Skylights, when they have no resources to use and accessibly provide themselves off line. I don't want any money for it and I don't want popularity for it. It is just a simple gift to less fortunate than me and to me them being able to read this is satisfying enough. It is enough for me that readers will want to read it.

You, however,  may quote whatever annotations I have stated that you find make a very good lesson and point I will allow that. I quote people all the time. And I will be listing several quotes from the story in these chapters to come up later because they are really good to quote, my friends.

9th Diary entry annotated
Next day
Even though we don't live but a short walk from each other, Wook and Missy and I don't get to visit much durin' the week — just on Saturday nights and Sunday. (31 words within the last sentence) I got to'fess, I likes Wook better than Missy. (10 words in the earlier sentence) Missy always pushed and hit us when she was young. (10 words makes up the former sentence) Now that she's a big girl, she push and hit with words. (12 words made up the previous sentence)(Some bullies do change strategies of making others feel inferior to them as they grow up.) Just yesterday she come sayin' I thought I was somebody 'cause I work in the Big House. (17 words within the past sentence) Aggie and Wook and Missy work in the fields, hunched over all day in the hot sun. (16 words in the former sentence) Aunt Tee say that's enough to make a body mean. (10 words within the former sentence) (Sun Sickness is not a fake thing over exposure to the sun can damage skin causing other things to happen such as dehydration, nausea, dizziness, chills and headaches being way more common than blisters or vomiting.)

10 Diary entry annotated below.
Friday
Fear of another frost is over, and the moon is full. (11 words within the sentence)
Aunt Tee said it was time to plant the house garden behind the kitchen. (14 words within the sentence) The family will eat out of it all summer and well into fall. (13 words within the sentence) Put in greens, goobers, cabbage, okra — all we could plant on that one spot.
Takin' care of the house garden is one job I don't mind doin'. (14 words within the sentence)
It's fun workin' with the plants, watchin' them grow and make food. (12 words within the last sentence. Betcha she's sighing finally an easy task taking care of a garden of veggies and other greens.)

11th Diary Entry Annotated down below
Next night
It stormed earlier tonight. (4 words within the last sentence) Flashes of lightning' lit up the attic room. (8 words within sentence, It is so hard to sleep when lightning flashes outside your window it is no different to the moon making your bedroom at night look like it went through silver daylight, Skylights. These are the nights went I can't sleep well are absolutely guaranteed.) I try not to be scared. (6 words within the last sentence) Lord, I miss Mama. (4 words within the last sentence) When I was little and it would storm, me and Mama would hug up close and I wouldn't be so scared. (21 words within the last sentence. Thunderstorms with lightning strikes are quite alarming if you don't expect them and their dramatic display and are particularly off to yourself as well.)
The rain has finally stopped, but it's still hot, and muggy — cain't sleep. (13 words within the last sentence) Besides, I woke up dreaming' 'bout Mama again. (8 words within the last sentence. Oh, ouch! Biting Nightmare time, besties. Brace yourself; you've all been warned!) I slipped quiet-like out of the kitchen, careful not to wake nobody, so I could come write. (17 words within the last sentence)
I am here at the live oak, my spot. (9 words within the last sentence) Here I can let my tears drop like the rain and tell the moon 'bout my sadness. (17 words within the last sentence) Writing' 'bout my dreams helps the hurt go away. (9 words within the last sentence, and writing down negative thoughts and things you need to ignore does help them get slowly flushed away. I rant here in some books so that one I get all my anger out, two don't accidentally take it all out on the family members I live with everyday at the current time everybody's strict and oversensitive.)

In my dream, I touched Mama's round, brown face. (9 words within the last sentence) Like she used to do, she wet the tip of her apron and dabbed away the sweat over my upper lip and on my forehead. (25 words within sentence) I saw myself readin' to her. (6 words within the last sentence) She smiled and clapped her hands. (6 words within the last sentence) I heard her soft voice praise me the way Mas' Henley do William when he gets the least li'l thing right. (21 words within the last sentence)
"I knows so much more, Mama. Let me show you." (10 words made up the previous two sentences)The soft in her face changed and her eyes held a warnin' I couldn't understand. (15 words within sentence)"What's wrong, Mama?" (3 words within sentence.) She wanted to say somethin', but she was pulled away into the dark by some powerful big hand. (18 words within the previous sentence)"Mom, wait." (2 words within sentence) She was gone, and I woke up to the cold hurtin' truth. (12 words within the last sentence) Mama is dead. (3 words within the last previous sentence. That is a pretty tense nightmare Clotee just had and the weather didn't help settle her mood either)

12th Diary entry annotated
Next day
I slipped off to visit with Missy and Wook today. (9 words within last sentence)I found them 'mongst the tobacco plants, 'longside Rufus. (9 words within the last sentence) I was so glad to see them. (7 words within sentence) We used to have a great time together, playin' games. (10 words within sentence) Then Mas' put Missy and Wook to work in the field, and I got put to work in the Big House. (21 words within sentence) Wok's face looks tired and drawn. (6 words within sentence) All Missy wanted to talk 'bout was how cute she thought Hince was. (13 words within the last sentence) Cute? Hince? (2 sentences of 1 word in the very last previous sentences) Missy got eyes for Hince? (5 words within last sentence) She did say somethin' that made good since. (8 words within the last sentence) She say that Rufus had asked Mas' Henley if he could hold a service at Eastertime. (16 words within the last sentence)(Quite a bold move Rufus but someone has to make the first step become super duper active, Skylights.) I'm surprised. (2 words within the last sentence) Mas' aine in the habit of doin' things nice for nobody less'n it serves him. (15 words within sentence. True that was the mind set of majority of non True Northern Eastern U. S White men citizen folk unfortunately back then, precious Skylights, sadly true.)

13th Diary entry annotated down below, precious Skylights.
Easter Sunday
After breakfast, we all gathered in the Quarters for the Easter meetin'. (12 words within the sentence)
Most times all of us be so tired, we just fall out on Sunday. (14 words within the sentence) Try to rest. (3 words sentence) Be ready for sunrise bell come Monday. (7 words within the last previous sentence) But Rufus lifted everybody's spirits today. (6 words within  the last sentence)

Mas' Henley came to the service to see what we was doin' — come talking' 'bout how he didn't want no shoutin' and carryin' on'brought fredum. (26 words within the sentence) He told us to pray for good weather and a big harvest. (12 words within the last former previous sentence) Sing 'bout joy and happiness. (5 words within the last sentence)No sad songs. (3 words last sentence)I wonder does he really believe we'll pray for his good fortune and not our own? (16 words within the last earlier former previous statement. Awkward Mas' Henley is indeed, sweet preciously-beautiful and darling Skylights!) He say if we do like he say, then he'll let us have more meetin's on Sunday. (17 words within the previous sentence)

Anyhow, Mas' Henley sat down, and Rufus took over. (9 words within sentence) (Even more awkward having your slave master present by your side for majority of Easter Sundays.) Wook tol' me once that Rufus had once been the slave of a preaching man before bein' sold to Mas' Henley. (21 words within sentence) Uncle Heb say Rufus had learned the Bible from cover to cover — know all the stories by heart. (18 words to describe an impressive achievement Rufus has and with the knowledge God gave him he brought hope, comfort and healing to his slave mates that no Master except God could ever see and recognize to everyone white it's hidden in plain sight right under their own white noses.) One day, I want to read the Bible for myself. (10 words within the previous sentence)There's a Bible that stays on Mas' Henley's readin' table. (10 words within sentence. While it is a good thing to always have a copy of the real Bible just owning one doesn't mean you ever thought about believing in the words. In fact many people today still don't believe in the Bible's true words, you need to actively read it and commune with God in prayer to be able to understand the book. And I'm glad one of Clotee's goals is to eventually read the Bible in this Rufus as a believer is being an excellent fellow black role model for a very young girl. Honestly there aren't enough men in any race who want to be good role models for young girls. For instance Prince James in Sofia the First is a great boy example role for young boys his age to see that is not embarrassing to his sister learning girl duties like his pouring tea for friends. Or Peter Moseley in the non Disney Little Mermaid live his little sister in that movie is fixated on finding a real mermaid that she always believed were real when he realized she was right the entire movie through he doesn't mistreat either character instead he specifically takes his sister with him on the adventure to save the mermaid from the Magician villain in the story and get her back safely into the ocean we all need to do more stuff like that.) I've looked at it many times, but never touched it. (10 words within sentence) I think he'd know if I did. (7 words within the last sentence)

Rufus began the meetin' by askin' Uncle Heb to speak a prayer. (12 words within sentence) Then he called Aggie to sing. (6 words within sentence) Then Rufus told us a story'bout a brave man named Daniel who stood down lions with just his faith. (20 words within the sentence)

When we find ourselves in the lion's den, Rufus say that we should be like Daniel and believe that God will deliver us from all harm. (26 words within the sentence) Everybody shouted "'amen'" to that, even me. (7 words within the sentence, Clotee would never had said "'Amen'" if God hadn't been calling and urging her to say even though she was slightly frightened with the aspect of the danger relayed in the story Rufus was preaching about.) But I'm not so sure 'bout facing' a lion. (9 words within sentence) What a scary thing. . . facin' a lion. (7 words within sentence; the only lion I know that is typically vicious by nature here in the U. S. is the Cougar or sometimes called Puma down in Mexico and the blonde Florida Panther in the Everglades. In the Bible it is stayed lions and bears were more likely to go for livestock over an actual wolf, David described both those encounters when he was watching his father's flock of sheep.)

However our lions actually may metaphorically be people who refuse to change their ways, their actions and use wiser words. For instance some people are always angry and will never stop being angry no matter what we say. Well, I say to you people out their, my lions that drive me nuts when you are so angry quiet yourself down and collect yourself. Bit your tongue and swallow your pride, honestly. And listen up to this advice in the arousal circle of anger there are five stages:

1st Stage is the Triggering Stage (Remember how I said in my "To Be A Princess Song" Prince Julian's song that there are a couple Disney Princes who break the rules of what a Prince should act like. Simba falls into that category too and he becomes a catalyst in this stage for Scar by constantly embarrassing his uncle while bragging about his rite of kingship. Simba is not an innocent cub.

2nd Stage is the Escalation Stage (Scar's character as a villain only made it to this stage in the movie)

3rd Stage is The Crisis Stage (The Destruction of the Pridelands is an indirect result and not just consequence of Scar's actions the lionesses weren't doing anything to make him do something about the animals leaving. They just let them leave. Only Nala was the active character only she and Zazu can't be blamed besides Simba for the destruction to the land. But Simba is not completely innocent unlike the other two. Because of that I can not say it is Scar's fault and cannot place him this high on the anger stages because it doesn't exist.

4th Stage is The Recovery Stage

5th Stage is The Depression Stage Claude Frollo's anger reaches all the way to depressive anger when he feels like he has to keep proving his right and obviously we know is very wrong but if you listen to the background emotions in the song of his Hellfire we get a self aware sense from himself that he has driven his mind and body into depression because there is an essence of sorrow emitting from that song in his words through his force as it builds up. And this is really what destroys him in the end at the end of the movie. Depression will and has killed people. And God does not want us to worry about such miniscule things. The Lord knows your worth is more valuable to him than anything else anyone person can say negatively towards you. And I encourage you to believe it with all your heart. Guard your heart for everything you do flows from it-Proverbs 4:23

If you don't want to write your anger down on line save a person note book write down the negative feelings and if the paper and the feelings on it still bother you and your mind won't release those thoughts I recommend letting a candle burn away that piece of paper I'd totally do that myself as to me it is as if the fire sends my fears and worries up to God and protects me for them. I would do it more here if our weather wasn't so muggy or so extra dry. North Carolina weather is tricky for campfires and you never know what you're going to get every year.

As I said there is a reference from Julian that there is a time and place for everything and it is very similar to what a passage in the Old Testament of the Bible says:
"'There's A time for everything there, and a season for every activity under the heaven:
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to uproot.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build.
A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them.
A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embrace. (Everyone majority wise who was smart were following this during Covid were following this verse without even knowing they did regardless of their knowledge of the One True God.)
A time to search and a time to give up,
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be silent and a time to speak,
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for and a time for peace.
(Ecclesiastes Chapter 3: 1-8)'"
(Here heavens are just another word for the sky, but this is not the rule in the New Testament it means some way more behind even the space that exists beyond our atmosphere, Skylights.)
(Ecclesiastes Chapters 3: 9-15.)
"'What do workers gain from their toil?'"
I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people to be happy and do good while they live. (In other words do every good you can even while no one is holding you back, Skylights.) That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in their toil — this is the gift of God. I know everything that God does will endure forever; and nothing can be added to it and nothing can be taken from it.  God does it so people will fear him. (Human earthly fears are far worse than the fear of the Lord as surprising as that may actual sound it is all but too true. And often our natural humanly fears make us think God is punishing us when nope it's just the way of our current world we live in day by day, Skylights. And that's why we get angry at him and in that way our mind is still very evil, readers.)
But that is not the point I wish to bring up, but I need to clear that big misconception up that false Christians will totally believe and you can see an example of falsified Christians in Miracles From Heaven a movie based up a true story of a little girl who gets heal by God in one of the most unusual ways.

Totally recommend this to see a better example of what a united family is actual like when they support each other in a critical time. The miscommunication trope between husband wife does not exist in this movie. The pastor is incredibly good himself. But it is two members of the Christian congregation that have a poor judgement of what Christianity and being a Christian means. There are false witnesses and believers in any religions and having that makes them instance hypocrites whether they like it or not. There are others who spread what they think is good advice and then never act upon it period. That is another form of hypocrisy unfortunately Skylights. These two women stick out like a sore thumb when they gave such stupid scalding pointing bad perspective and view saying, "That the sins of parents are what is responsible for a child's physical ailment!" is stupid advice and never helps a Mother calm down when her child is suffering. Saying stuff like it is insult-tive not only to the family member who worries about their sick more than the one who advises following these could possibly understand it burns them too. It closes them off from other people. It is equivalent to them this awful advice is like dropping a bowling ball on their head or getting drenched in a boiling pot of water! And above all it is not a metaphorical and literary lie it is very much false testimony to the one you try to educate. And God also instructs us not to give false witness against our neighbors, Skylights.)

Ecclesiastes Chapter 3: 15-17
Whatever is has already been,
And what will be has been before;
and God will call the past into account.

And then I saw something else under the sun:
In the place of judgement—wickedness was there,
In the place of Justice — wickedness was there,
I said to myself, "God will bring into judgement both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.
