"God, I wish I could, but I really have absolutely no time. I'm sorry. I have so many meetings... Bruce wanted to work on something with me... I promise I will make time as soon as possible." He gives you a sad smile and a kiss on the forehead before running off.
You pout, being left alone in the living room. You wished you could be like them. Be an amazing spy, or... A really cool thing with super strength! Or even a goddess!
"No, you really don't, little one." A voice says from inside your head, cool like ice but as smooth as velvet. It sounded... Mocking, almost. But charming...
You gasp when you realize that isn't your mind's voice. Definitely not. You recognize the voice, but not who owns it.
You look around the room, making sure it definitely came from your head, which it did. No one else was in there with you.
