"Ohayo~" I greeted the world.
"Ohayo Yuriko-chan." A voice greeted.
"Hmm?" I yawned and glanced around to see who said that. Then, my eyes fell on him.
"Ai-kun!" I shouted in shock when I saw him sitting at a seat of a study desk.
"What are you doing here?" I asked while getting out of bed and walking towards him. I took a peek at the paper on the table. They were lyrics for a song. "A new song?"
"Yeah," he said. "I will be performing it with Quartet Night later at a concert."
"I see. Can I come?" I asked sweetly.
"Of course," he replied. "Why wouldn't I let you come? You've gone to all our concerts."
"Oh yeah, that's right," I laughed.
"What's so funny?" he asked.
"Ah, it's nothing. Oh right, do you remember what tomorrow is?" I asked and grinned.
"14 February. It's your birthday if I am not mistaken," he said.
I nodded happily, then continued, "It's also Valentines' Day."
"So?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
I gulped. You can do this Yuriko! You've practiced many times in front of the mirror! You can do it!
"I was wondering if... you would like to go out with me tomorrow," I said in a nervous tone, Ai gave no response to the question. I panicked and continued, "As friends."
"Oh. Sorry I have work," he said. "I have a shoot tomorrow."
"Oh..." I said sadly and replied, "I will go prepare breakfast..."
"What's the matter?" he asked and put his hand on my shoulder.
I turned around and replied, "I was really hoping to spending my birthday with you..."
"Oh. Sorry, I never quite grasped the meanings of birthdays. What's the use of celebrating a day that only proves you will be one year older? It's like a waste of time and money," he replied and shrugged.
Ouch. That bit me hard. I felt a tear slipped down my cheek. Then another and another.
"What's wrong? I was only speaking the truth," Ai said when he noticed me crying.
I felt a strong urge in my heart. It was begging for closure and I gave it closure. I slapped Ai and pushed him out of my room roughly.
"You will never understand the happiness of friends and families celebrating together and feeling happy! You are a robot!" I shouted and slammed the door shut.
I felt better for a moment, but then I felt weird... Tears formed in my eyes.
Why? I don't understand.
My heart was aching. I clutched on my chest and kneeled down. Trying to ease the ache.
I was crushed and could hardly breathe.
My lungs burned as I tried desperately to cry and breathe normally.
Was it guilt?
I was burning up, then I heard a loud thud on the ground.
Was it Ai? Did he malfunction and 'faint'? Is it because of me?
I wanted to go and check on him, but I couldn't move.
Then, I realized everything around me was pitch black.
It was me who fainted.
I opened my eyes when I regain conscious. It was blurry. I saw a certain cyan head staring down at me.
Ai?
My vision became clearer and it was indeed Ai.
"Ai? Why are you here? Don't you have a concert?" I asked.
"I was about to go, but then I heard a thud coming from your room," he said.
"Oh." That was all I could say.
"It's strange," he said.
"What is?" I asked.
"You were burning up earlier when I found you, but now you appear to be fine," he replied.
"Oh, fast recovery. I guess. Well, we better get to your concert or the rest would be angry," I said.
"All right. Please hurry and change your clothes, then we can go," he said.
"You still want me to go?" I gasped. "After I said such a horrible thing?"
"You were only speaking the truth. I will never grasp the importance of such emotions as I am a robot," he said and left the room.
That's right... You are just a robot. You won't understand how much such statement would hurt another...

"You guys are late," Ranmura said angrily.
"Now now Ran-Ran. At least they are here now," Reiji said. "Ohayo Ai-Ai and Yuri-chan!"
"Ohayo," I greeted. "Sorry we are late..."
"It's okay Yuri-chan! We still have a lot of time! Let's get on to practice!" Reiji said.
"I guess I will use the other practice room for composing," I said and waved goodbye, then heading to the other practice room.
"You don't want to watch us practice?" Reiji asked sadly.
"I'll watch the concert! I don't want to get spoiled from your practice," I replied, loud enough for them to hear before I entered the other practice room.
I settled down on the piano and placed the script in front of me. I tried thinking of a tune, but nothing came to mind. So I daydreamed about Ai and a tune came to me. I started to write and play. Soon, it was finished. I tucked the script with the other scripts I wrote. I sighed as the events from earlier replayed in my head and I thought of lyrics and played the piano as I sang...

I stopped because I realized I was crying.

"Thanks Yuri-chan!" Reiji thanked and ran on stage with Ranmura, Ai and Camus.

The concert was over.
The crowd cheered wildly.
The four members went back backstage.
"That was awesome guys!" I said happily. After listening to the song, my breath was taken away.
"Thanks Yuriko," Ai said and patted my head.
It felt weird... He never did this before.
"What are you doing Ai...?" I asked.
"Checking your height. My data says you are 160 cm, but you look so much shorter to me," Ai said.
"Hey! That's so mean! My height has nothing to do with the concert!" I pouted, blushing.
"Yeah It just suddenly came to mind," he replied. "Why is your face so red?"
I backed away and replied, "Ah, no reason."
"Hey Ai! We got to greet the fans!" Ranmura shouted in an agitated tone.
"All right, come on Yuriko," he said and pulled my arm.
"Huh? Are you sure I should walking with you guys?" I asked in an uncertain tone.
"It'll be all right, just stay close to me," he said and grabbed my hand, heading to where the rest of the members are.
"Ai! Look here!" I heard the fans scream when Ai got out.
"Who is that girl?"
"How dare she get close to our Ai!"
I heard a few whisper. I then felt someone else pulling on my other arm. I looked towards the direction. It was one of Ai's fan girls. She looked really angry. I struggled to get out of her vice-like grip, but my efforts were futile.
"Get away from Ai!" she shouted at me.
Then, a hand slapped the girl's hand away from me. I looked up and gasped. It was Ai.
"Please don't hurt her. She's my friend and I would hate it if you hurt her," Ai said.
"I'm so sorry Ai!" she apologise with a half-hearted smile, but when Ai looked away, I could feel a several burning glares on me.
This sucks... but at least I am with Ai...
