NARRATORS POV☆
Vanessa's father , JAMES ST PATRICK, used to be a d-boy and was involved in the same life Zion got into , so you could say that the strong liking for weed and street-life ran in the family . Vanessa had her mothers last name and not her fathers because that's just how her mother wanted it to be .James died from being shot in the back and head , with Vanessa witnessing everything .
It went down like this, James and Vanessa were having a father - daughter day and Vanessa asked if he and her mother could come to her 13th birthday and be kind to each other . James and Lauren's arguments were terrible they'd choke each other and use vulgar language in front of younger Vanessa whilst she cried and had Zion cover her ears and take her out the house .
They were stopped by police officers , James felt irritated at how they were constantly bothering with him . Vanessa worried for her father and asked her father to keep his hands where they could be seen as she did the same but he shook this off and told her she didn't need to worry .
" hey get out the car !" The officer ordered Vanessa . She did as told not taking her eyes off her father.
" yo, you can't be doin this shit to my daughter !" He yelled in his thick New York accent before being dragged out of the car and having his body slammed into the front of the car.
Vanessa cried as she watched this trying to get out of her cuffs to get to her father but it was no use .
" hey baby, just stay calm for daddy , leave the cuffs alone ." James gently said to the girl .
This right here served as another reason as to why Vanessa was warned to not get involved in this life .
James came closer to his daughter to comfort her attempting to get something out his pocket until the officer assumed he was doing something he wasn't supposed he was shot in the back and in the head .
Vanessa screamed at the top of her lungs in sorrow seeing her father losing blood on that cold ground .
She cried like she never had before , the girl got closer to his body still in cuffs and kissed his forehead .
The officer came closer taking what was in his pockets hoping to see something that would incriminate him but it was a bloody necklace that had Vanessa's name on it and ring that he planned to give to her .
Vanessa was taken out of these cuffs and given these items and taken to the station whilst an ambulance came for her father .
This day would forever haunt the young girl , soon after being in a care home she went to live with Zion .
Vanessa felt disgusted at how her father was taken in front of her and would spend her days vomiting her guts out with her brother or Notti rubbing her back .
The girl spent her 13-14th birthday crying feeling that it wasn't special since her father wasn't there and barely ate .

HOW HER AND NOTTI MET☆
One time Zion had left Notti home whilst he went and got Vanessa things she needed and asked Notti to call if anything was wrong .
That left Vanessa and Notti sat in the living room in perfect silence until Notti started a conversation.
" hey ma , you aight?" He asked seeing her face stained with tears . She nodded but then felt that she was going to throw up and ran to the bathroom with Notti following behind her . As soon as she got to the bathroom she vomited her guts out crying with ethan rubbing her back and placing soft kisses on her forehead once she was done .
Notti called Zion to tell him this and he was making his way . It broke Zion's heart too see his sister suffering like this , she was too young . The girl Smoked so much weed and it was concerning , the girl began to hate being sober since that was when her mind would attack her with the memory of her father dying .
Vanessa kissed Notti on his cheek telling him thank you for the help and attempted to smoke a blunt until he put it out .
" I'm sorry baby but your brother wouldn't like this ." He said only wanting the best for her . She smiled lazily in return feeling surprised on how he seemed to care , she didn't feel as if she was loveable .
" what's your name?" She asked wanting to know more about the boy . " my street name is Notti but my real one is Ethan , only you can call me that cause your my friend ." He said rubbing her hand.
" I'm gonna call you E, my names Vanessa ." She said softening up . The 2 smiled at each other and gave each other a hug . That hug was comfortable and was needed the boy smelled nice , had a nice smile , was a sweetheart and was gentle and patient with her . That was all she needed at the moment.
Zion then came home and they left the bathroom .
Seeing her brother , she quickly hugged him having him kiss her forehead and rub her head .
Ethan then said his goodbyes but before he got to the door Vanessa stopped him and kissed his cheek thanking him for the help .
"You like him?" Zion asked . " that's my new friend Z don't worry ." She said to her brother who was now looking confused .
From that moment she had been craving the boy and desiring his touch .
