The first month of Gaty being away was going very well. Saw had felt better about her being away, and the two talked all the time.
Gaty also has been sharing her adventures with the team, and she has found the experience to be a great stride towards working in different educational settings.
Unfortunately, once the second month had hit, Saw had obtained a nasty stomach virus. She had woken up in the middle of the night feeling queasy and was not able to go back to sleep.
Once the team woke up in the morning and learned what had happened, they expressed concern for their fellow Team8er.
"Saw, are you okay?" Needle asked, her worry evident.
Saw weakly smiled, "I'll survive, just a stomach bug. Happens to the best of us, right?"
Pin offered a bowl of soup, "Here, this always helps me when I'm feeling under the weather. You need to stay hydrated."
"Thanks, Pin," Saw replied, appreciating the gesture. She took a few sips of the soup, feeling the warmth soothing her unsettled stomach.
Coiny chimed in, "You know, it's a good thing Gaty isn't here. She would've been hovering over you like a worried mother hen."
Saw chuckled, "True. But I miss her fussing over me right now."
Barf Bag handed her a ginger tea, "Ginger is great for nausea. And don't worry, we're here to fuss over you in her absence."
Barf Bag and Donut had to go to work soon after. Coiny and Needle went to go help out at the Bakery, while Pin decided it would be best to stay back with Saw, not only to take care of her, but since Saw was too ill to watch Thread, it was best for Pin to watch Thread too.
As the day went on, Saw drifted in and out of sleep, with Pin taking care of her and keeping her comfortable. The team members who returned from their work took turns checking in on Saw, bringing her small treats and keeping her spirits up.
By the evening, Saw started feeling a bit better. The worst of the stomach bug seemed to have passed, and she was grateful for the care and support she received from her friends.
"You guys are the best," Saw said, genuinely touched by their kindness.
"We're family," Pin replied, "and family takes care of each other."
As night fell, Saw drifted off to sleep, glad that the worst of the stomach bug was over.
Or so she thought.
Again, she was woken up in the middle of the night, throwing up, possibly worse than the day before.
Barf Bag started to go into Dr. Gutterson mode when she heard what had happened, "Saw, this doesn't seem like a regular stomach bug, they should usually clear up within 24 hours."
Saw nodded, "I feel like crap, I don't know what we should do."
Pin made some more soup, "here, have some, it seemed to make you feel better yesterday."
Saw took one whiff of the soup and immediately dashed to the toilet, throwing up yet again.
Pin exchanged a worried look with Barf Bag, "You and Donut should head off to work, me Coiny and Needle have this under control." Barf Bag nodded as they left for work.
Saw continued to not feel well, even after trying some remedies. Coiny told Saw to go up into her room to rest.
Pin continued to think about what this sickness could be, or where it even came from. They had all been eating the same meals, so food poisoning was out of the question. Plus, almost no one else she knew had gotten any sort of stomach virus.
"You know," Pin remarked, "I'm realizing that Saw is reminding me of when I was pregnant with Thread."
Needle looked up from helping to clean up the kitchen, "Pregnant? Are you serious?"
Pin nodded, "Yeah. I had this persistent morning sickness that lasted throughout the day. It wasn't just a regular stomach bug. Maybe we should consider the possibility."
Coiny, who had been listening, raised an eyebrow, "Pregnant? Well, that's unexpected. But you might be onto something. Saw and Gaty did mention wanting a family eventually."
Needle agreed, "It's worth checking. I mean, we can't rule out anything at this point."
Meanwhile, Saw was resting in her room, still feeling unwell. The sudden revelation about the possibility of pregnancy caught the throuple offguard. While they didn't want to make Saw uncomfortable, they knew they had to ask her about it.
Coiny knocked on the door to Saw's room. "Mind if we come in?" he asked.
Saw sat up from her bed, "yeah, you can come in."
As the three of them walked in, Pin decided to start the conversation, "do you mind if we ask you something, it might be related to why you've been sick."
Saw, slightly confused, responded, "sure, what's up?"
Pin took a deep breath and jumped straight to the point, "Saw, is there any chance you might be pregnant?"
Saw's eyes widened in surprise at Pin's direct question. She blinked a few times, processing the unexpected inquiry. Pin, Coiny, and Needle exchanged glances, realizing they might have caught Saw off guard.
"Pregnant?" Saw repeated, a mix of emotions crossing her face. "I mean, we've talked about starting a family eventually, but I didn't think it would happen so soon."
Pin gently spoke, "Given your symptoms, Saw, we thought it might be a possibility. It happened to me when I was pregnant with Thread."
Coiny added, "We just want to make sure you're okay and figure out the best way to help."
Saw's admission hung in the air for a moment. The room fell silent as the throuple waited for her to process the revelation.
After a moment of introspection, Saw spoke with a mixture of uncertainty and excitement, "I haven't taken it into serious consideration, but I guess with everything going on, it's definitely a possibility."
Pin, Coiny, and Needle exchanged glances, a mixture of concern and support. They wanted to approach the topic delicately, knowing that such news could be overwhelming.
"We're here for you, Saw," Pin assured her. "No matter what you decide or how you feel, we're a team, and we'll support each other."
Coiny added, "And if you need anything, just let us know. We're in this together."
Saw smiled, grateful for the support of her friends, "hey...could you guys get me a test, just to be sure?"
Coiny nodded, "Of course, Saw. We'll go grab one for you."
While Coiny and Needle headed out to get a pregnancy test, Pin stayed with Saw, offering a reassuring presence. The room was filled with a mix of anticipation and nervous energy as they waited for the test.
When Coiny and Needle returned, Saw took the test with the support of her friends. The minutes felt like hours as they waited for the results. Finally, the moment of truth arrived, and the test confirmed what they suspected – Saw was pregnant.
"Oh my sheet metal, I'm gonna be a mom," Saw said, trying to contain her emotions. It wasn't long before tears of joy started to form.
"Congratulations Saw," Coiny said.
Needle smiled, "You and Gaty are going to do great!"
Pin added on, "it's gonna be a journey from here, that's for sure, but we're gonna be here for you."
Once Barf Bag and Donut came home from work, they heard all the commotion coming form Saw's room, and went up to investigate.
"Is everything okay guys," Donut asked.
"Well, we found out why I'm sick," Saw said, a smile beaming on her face.
While Donut and Barf Bag were initially confused on how Saw could be so happy in her current state, Saw handed them the positive test, and it all made sense to them now.
"Dang, I wasn't even thinking about pregnancy, you guys beat me to it," Barf Bag noted.
Donut, his eyes widening, said, "Wait, you're going to be parents? That's fantastic news!"
Saw nodded, "Yeah, it looks like it."
Barf Bag grinned, "Well, congrats! This is huge!"
Saw smiled through her tears, feeling a flood of emotions. "Thank you, all of you. This is unexpected, but I couldn't be happier to have such an amazing support system."
As the news settled in, the team celebrated the impending addition to their family. The unexpected turn of events brought a new sense of excitement and unity to the household.
