Bella was sitting in bed. She looked up as Mark walked in. She grinned and smiled. "Hey. Where have you been?" She asked.

"Been looking at houses. I know we love this place. But we're having a baby. And I want us to have the best. So if that's a house, then let's get a house," he told her.

Bella smiled. "Babe. I'm happy to be here with you. And we have the guest bedroom we can turn into a nursery. It's gonna be fine," she said.

Mark shrugged and smirked. "Well I'm still gonna look. You can't stop me looking," he told her as he kissed her lips.

"Fine. But don't buy anything. We can make it work here," Bella said. She groaned. "I feel sick."

"sickness?"

"I have no idea."

****

Mark held Bella's hair back as he looked to her. He smiled. "You look so cute," he said.

Bella turned to him. She frowned. "I have vomit coming from my mouth. I need to pee. And I'm tired. I don't look cute. I look a mess," she mumbled.

"Yeah but you're having our baby. So, I think you look cute," Mark told her as he kissed her head and smiled  "I love you."

"I love you too."

****

Mark was waiting for Bella when she arrived. He handed her a donut and a decaf coffee. "What's all this in aid of?" She asked.

"You need to keep your strength up. I'm going to take care of you," Mark told her as he kissed her.

Bella smiled. "Thanks. But decaf? I'm allowed normal coffee you know. Only one. But still," she said.

Mark shrugged. "Decaf all the way baby. Donuts are okay. Cause the baby needs them."

Bella raised her eyebrows and smiled. "You're so sweet and dorky. You know that?" She said as she looked to him and walked off.

****

Grace looked up as Bella walked over to her. She smiled. "You okay mama?" She asked.

Bella nodded. "Yeah. I'm good. Just tired. And haven't really been sleeping. How are you?"

Grace shrugged. She grinned. "Well Derek is being super nice to me. He's told me he's going to speed up building the house. Says he wants us there by the time the baby makes their appearance," she told her.

"Isn't he sweet. You seem happy. Like all your life is working out," Bella said.

Grace nodded. "Yeah. It feels like it. I'm so happy. I'm having a baby with the man I love. So I am so happy," she told her.

"Good. Keep at it. Happiness looks good on you," Bella said as she hugged her.

****

Amelia Shepherd walked over to the nurses station. She looked around. "Where could I find Dr. Shepherd?" She asked.

The Nurse looked up to Amelia. "You have an appointment?"

"I don't. Uh, could you just point me in the direction of his office?"

The nurse didn't respond as Mark walked over. "She has that look on her face because the last time someone walked into this hospital looking for Dr. Shepherd without an appointment, he shot him," he told her.

"Mark!" Amelia squealed as she hugged him. "Oh. Oh, my God!"

Mark smiled. "Hi, Amy."

"You still look hot," Amelia commented as she ran her eyes over him. She smiled. "Really hot."

Mark nodded and smiled. "And you, uh, look a lot more grown-up than when I last saw you."

Amelia shrugged and grinned. "You can say "hot, " you know? 'Cause I am. I'm hot."

He turned to look at Amelia. "No. I can't. Because in my mind. You're still Derek's 12 year old sister. So what are you doing in Seattle?" He asked.

Amelia shrugged. "Uh Derek is an ass who won't return my calls. Derek's an ass who got shot and won't return my calls. So I bought him a present. Or a bribe. Or a peace offering. Whatever, I bought him that," she said as she pointed over to the guy she had.

Mark frowned. "You bought him Brett Favre?" He asked.

Amelia shook her head. "No. I bought him a brain tumour," she told him.

****

Bella walked along the corridor with Derek and Grace. The three of them walked into Amelia. "Amy?"

"Oh god. What is it with my sisters turning up here," Bella mumbled.

Amelia smiled. "Well, if you'd pick up the damn phone, I wouldn't have to stalk you," she told him.

Mark nodded. He winked over at Bella.  "Yeah. Why didn't you call your sister?" Mark asked.

"Sister?"

"Grace, Cristina, this is Amy," Derek said as he introduced his wife to his sister. Not really knowing why she was here.

Derek knew how Bella and Amelia never got along. They always fought growing up. And he knew she wasn't happy that Amelia was there.

Amelia smiled. "Amelia. He's the only one who gets to call me Amy," she said. She hugged Grace. "Um, nice to finally meet you."

Grace smiled "Likewise."

Derek looked to his wife. "Amy ... Amelia ... is also a neurosurgeon."

"Another one? You Shepherds grow them like weeds," Cristina said.

Bella scoffed. "Hello. Not a Neurosurgeon," she mumbled. She was feeling sick again.

Derek turned to look at the guy who was with Amelia. "Who's this, your husband?" He asked as he looked to Amelia.

"Derek, this is Tom. Todd."

"Oh, best of luck to you both."

Amelia looked to Derek. "No, we met on the plane. He has a probable pituitary tumor."

Derek turned to him. He raised his eyebrows. "Did she say you had spongy hands?" He asked as he looked to him.

Todd nodded and smiled. "Yeah. Yeah."

Derek nodded. "Were your hands on her breasts at the time?"

"Yeah."

"So this was a mile-high hookup?" Derek asked with a roll of his eyes.

"That doesn't change the fact that he's a very sick man," Amelia said as she looked to him.

"If he has symptoms, it could be a tumor."

Amelia rolled her eyes. She sighed. "Not just "could." It ... it is."

Derek nodded. "All right. Well, this fine lady will find you a surgeon."

Grace stopped her husband from walking off. "Derek, she's your sister. You can buy her a cup of coffee."

Derek turned to her. "I have a lot of sisters, and if I bought them all coffee, we wouldn't have anything," he said.

"Derek."

Derek ignored her. He turned to Cristina. "All right, Todd needs a workup. Will you take care of it?"

Grace frowned. "I can do it," she said as she looked to him.

Derek shook his head. "Yang's on my service. Why don't you just go have a good day with Amy, okay? She's a laugh a minute," he said as he walked off.

Amelia looked over to Bella. "Well if it isn't the baby. Ever plan on getting from under Derek's coattails?" She asked.

"Oh Amelia. How I wish you weren't here," Bella said as she walked off.

****

Bella was working with Meredith. She looked to her. The two of them had had a slight disagreement about Cristina.

She sighed. "Decreased breath sounds on the right side," she said as she put her stethoscope back around her neck.

Meredith looked to her. She sighed. "I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings. There's a few things I don't talk about, and Cristina's one of them."

Bella nodded and smiled. "Um, so is there any chest pain or is it just difficulty breathing?" She asked.

"Uh, it's ... it's kinda both. It's cancer," Gretchen, the patient said.

"It's not cancer."

Gretchen smiled as she looked to Bella. "Ooh, it's cancer or it's, um... Anxiety about the wedding."

Bella grinned. She turned to her. "Oh, when are you getting married?" She asked.

Gretchen smiled as she looked to Chloe. "Two weeks. Are you seeing anyone? You're really pretty to be single," she said.

Bella smiled. "I'm actually seeing someone. We're meant to be getting married," she said. "Well, we're gonna need to get a chest X-ray, so is there any chance that you could be pregnant?"

Gretchen shook her head. She smiled. "Oh ... Mnh-mnh. Not pregnant."

"You're sure?" Meredith asked as she looked to Gretchen.

"She's sure. Mm-hmm. Really super sure."

"Shut up. I am a virgin."

Danny nodded and smiled as he looked to his fiancée. "Yeah. Uh, we're waiting for the wedding," he told them.

"Danny's had sеx before. It is important to him that you know that," Gretchen said as she smiled.

"I didn't say anything."

"Okay. They think we're freaks."

Meredith smiled. She looked to them. "No, we don't."

Bella shook her head. "No, not at all. I'd go back to being a virgin if I could," she said with a smile.

"No, they think you're a freak, and I'm just very, very understanding."

****

Bella walked over to Mark. Bailey had asked her to get Mark for her. "Dr Sloan, Dr Bailey needs a consult in room 11-35," she told him.

Mark nodded. "Okay. I'll be right over," he said. He watched her as she walked off.

Callie sighed. "Look away."

"What?"

Callie looked to him. She knew how he was always checking on Bella lately. "Stop staring at her like you want to drag her into an on call room," she told him.

Mark rolled his eyes. "I can't. She's like a drug. I'm an addict when it comes to her."

Callie rolled her eyes. "You always look at her like you want to rip her clothes off. You can't do that."

"Stay out of it. I don't wanna rip her clothes off," Mark said as he walked off.

****

Amelia was with Derek and Cristina in the scan room. Amelia looked to him. She smiled. "Did it hurt? Getting shot?" She asked.

Derek rolled his eyes. "Oh, you're amazing."

"Well, did you feel the bullet or did you just feel pain?"

"I feel pain now because you won't stop talking," Derek said as Todd's scans came up. "And we have images."

Amelia nodded. "Yeah, there it is."

Derek turned to Cristina. "Dr. Yang, what's the best approach on a tumor like this?" He asked.

"I don't know."

"Y... it's a pituitary tumor, so your, uh, access would be coming in from?" Derek asked as he looked to her.

"You go in transnasally. Can we book an O.R.?"

"What's the chance of me finishing a thought today?" Derek questioned turning to his sister.

"Not great. Um, there's some compression, so I'd like to get in sooner than later," Amelia said.

"Dr. Yang, can you book an O.R. , please? You'll be scrubbing in."

"You know, if she wants to do it, you know, be my guest," Cristina said. Knowing how she was still struggling.

"Dr. Yang, book an O.R."

"Fine," she said as she walked out of the room.

Amelia turned to Derek. "Okay, that's my patient in there. You're gonna let what's her face with the learning disability scrub in? Why don't you just shoot the guy?" She asked.

Derek shook his head at Amelia. "Don't talk about shooting people in this building. Don't criticize my surgeons. Leave your patient. Go home," he told her.

****

Bella smiled as she looked to Grace. "So you met Amelia. Thoughts?" She asked.

Grace shrugged. She sat with her. "She's not like the other two. But I'm not sure I like her. There's something off about her," she told her.

"She's my sister. I get that all the time. Trust me. At least one Shepherd sister likes you," she said as she grinned.

Grace rolled her eyes but smiled. She looked good her. "Are you okay?"

Bella nodded. "I'm actually okay. I think life is working out for me. And I don't think I could be happier."

"Aren't we just soppy loved up fools?"

"Basically."

****

Amelia was standing near the OR board. Grace walked over. "Hey. Got a kick ass surgery today," she said.

Amelia smiled. "Nice. You think it's bad if I write my own name on your board? I mean, I did bring in the patient, and they gave me privileges," she told her.

Grace filled out Amelia's name on the OR board.  Amelia smiled. "Shepherd and Shepherd. Classic."

Derek walked over and wiped her name from the surgery. "What's going on?" Amelia asked.

Derek turned to her. "You think I'm gonna let you do to him what you did to my mustang? I don't think so," he said.

Grace frowned. She was confused. "She's your sister. I don't get why you're being like this," she said.

"Mm-hmm."

"Because she crashed your car a couple of years ago? I totaled my mom's car. People make mistakes," Grace told him. Not understanding why he was treating Amelia like he was.

"Right. When you totaled your mother's car, were you high on pain pills?" Derek asked.

"No."

Derek nodded. "Did you steal your mother's prescription pad so you could feed your addiction?"

Grace frowned. "She stole your prescription pad?" She asked.

Derek nodded. Yeah, and then when she went home, she O.D. 'Ed. She was dead for three minutes. I saved her after Bella found her passed out. That's what she put my mother through after losing my father and raising six kids on her own, so, no, I don't trust her in my O.R., okay?" He said as he walked off.

****

Bella walked down the hall with Alex and Meredith. Grace was working with Mark. "A condom?" Alex asked as he looked to her.

Bella nodded. "Yeah."

"Wait. She aspirated? A condom in her lung?" Alex asked again.

"I'm gonna gag."

Meredith nodded. "And her fiancée thinks she's a virgin," she told him.

****

Bella was sitting with the other residents at lunch. Jackson looked to Karev. "So, Karev, how old were you your first time?" He asked.

Alex turned to him. "15. School nurse, back of her car."

"15? That's impressive."

Alex nodded and smirked. "When I was 16, she taught me how to drive that same car," he told him.

Meredith looked up from her salad. "Sophomore in high school, Paul Waxman, had absolutely no idea what he was doing."

Jackson smirked. "Junior prom, Sarah Richardson and penny caraway, together. I knew exactly what I was doing. Bella?" He asked as he turned to the red head.

"15. Junior prom also. Ended up sneaking off with someone not my date. Grace?"

"16. Some guy from school. Can't even remember his name now. Too many sexual encounters since then," Grace said. She turned to Cristina. "Go on."

"19."

Alex frowned. He looked to her. "19?"

Cristina nodded and smirked. "Mm-hmm. I was very focused on my studies. It was my chem T.A. He was a whole head shorter than me, but ... man, he was smart," she said.

"Hey, April."

April shook her head. "I'm not talking about this. It was a private ... private memory," she told them.

Alex laughed. "What happened, did the guy die?" He asked.

"Alex."

Bella tilted her head. "Oh, did it last, like, three seconds, so you don't know if it counted?" She asked.

April shook her head. "No. It was on the beach at sunset. It was beautiful," she told them all.

Grace frowned. She looked to her. "The beach? At sunset?" She asked.

"Yeah."

Bella frowned. Really? Weren't ... weren't there people there?" She asked.

Jackson nodded. "Oh, on the beach? Man, you get sand up in places you don't want to get sand. Mosquitoes," he said.

"Mm-hmm. Yeah"

"Ha!" Alex said, making Bella jump a mile. "You're a virgin."

April shook her head. "No, I'm not."

"Oh, my God. You are!" Bella said. She looked to her. "Do you not get turned on? I only have to look at Mark and I want to jump him."

"She is. Oh, my God."

Cristina laughed. She looked to Alex. "Do it. Do it. Do it to her right now. Alex, go deflower her. Do it. Do it."

April was walking off. "It was ... it was on the beach at sunset, okay?"

****

Bella was sitting in the residents lounge. She looked up as Mark walked in. He smiled. "Hey. I hear your patient is a virgin."

Bella nodded. "Yeah. I don't know how they don't get urges. I want to jump you as soon as you look at me," she said.

Mark smirked. He walked over to her. "Well I can always let you jump me now," he said.

Bella rolled her eyes and smiled.  She looked to him. "Amelia is here. And I'm not too sure I like her," she mumbled.

Mark pulled her close and smiled. He knew how Bella and Amelia had never gotten on. "You're a much better person than she is. Think of it like that. And you have my baby inside you right now. So you're looking extremely fine."

Bella grinned. She sighed. "Ever wanna just climb into bed and pretend the world doesn't exist?" She asked.

"With you? All the time."

****

Derek was waiting for Amelia outside the hospital. Bella was sitting down on a bench close by.

Amelia looked to them both. "Don't worry. I'm leaving the premises," she said.

Derek sighed. "We were in the back of the store. Dad had just given you two pennies, and you always hid them behind the counter in this big crack in the floorboards. You said you were saving them so you could buy a town. And then the two guys came in. We could hear them talking, but you weren't paying attention until dad yelled, and you looked up. They had already pulled the gun, they had already taken the money, but now they wanted the watch that mom gave him. He wouldn't give it up. There was a gunshot. You ... lunged forward," he said.

Amelia nodded. "I remember. I was trying to get to him, but ... I couldn't move," she told him.

Derek nodded. He saw Bella who was in tears. "That's because I was holding you so tight that you couldn't budge. I put one hand over your mouth so you wouldn't scream and wrapped the other one around you and just held on for dear life, prayed to God that you'd be quiet and you wouldn't say anything. You were so little. I think that's what I've always wanted all these years, is you just to stay ... Little and ... Quiet and safe. But you're not any of those things. You're loud and fearless, and it scares the crap out of me. How am I supposed to call you up and tell you that I've been shot? I can't tell you about my pain. I don't want you to know that pain exists," he said as he looked to her.

****

Bella walked into the apartment. She smiled as she looked to Mark. He grabbed her and covered her eyes. "I have a surprise for you," he said.

"Oh?"

Mark took her into the second bedroom. He removed his hands from her eyes. She felt tears as she looked to him. "Y-You did this?" She asked.

Mark nodded. "I did. Figured the baby would need a bedroom. So I left earlier than you. And did this. I got the crib I bought for Sloan. Just until I can get a new one," he said.

Bella friends to him and kissed him. "I love it. And I love you."

Mark held her close and sighed. Knowing he was going to do all he could to not hurt her again.
