Sweet

That evening, I was overwhelmed by emotions. I wrote a blog about lying in relationships before I went to bed.

Hello my lovely readers,

Have you experienced being lied to by someone, especially in a relationship?

If you lie in a relationship, it can really hurt. Trust is super important in any healthy relationship, and lying can totally destroy it. Just so you know, lying doesn't only mean telling a complete lie. Not being completely honest can also be seen as lying.

If your partner lies, it can throw off the balance of power. The lying partner might think they're in control because they know something the other partner doesn't. This could make him/her lie more and mess up communication...

After I posted my blog, my readers were curious about why I picked the topic about lying in a relationship. Oh no! They were wondering if someone had lied to me, or if it was Sebastian.

Okay, Sweet. Calm down. Just calm down. I said to myself.

I felt a bit relieved when I continued reading the comments. Majority thought I just did it for the blog.

***

Monday morning, I woke up early to see the comments on my blog, but turns out everyone was talking about Sebastian. There were even pics of him in the karaoke joint.

Guess who's back in the game? Sebastian Stavrakos, the young Greek billionaire and future CEO of the Stavrakos business empire. He was spotted chilling in a karaoke bar in NYC last night. People were like, does this guy even sing? No one's heard him sing before.

No sign of Sweet Treble, the girl he's dating right now. Is it 'cause we sense trouble in paradise? It's over already after two and a half months of dating? Most likely, 'cause he stayed away from the bars and girls to chase that small town blogger. So, what went down? Is our hot young billionaire tired of chasing and ready to go back to his old ways?

Well, that's another mystery we'll uncover soon!

Looks like he's back in action. My lips got all tight after reading the article.

I was furious and completely let down. He was trying to charm me last night, making me think he really wanted me back. He even said "I love you," but just a few hours later, he went back to his old ways.

Oh God! Does he really think I'm that clueless? Or he was just testing my reaction.

Last night, I was thinking of giving him a chance. What if he's really serious about me? What if he truly loves me?

But after reading this article about him, I changed my mind. I got convinced he'd never change his bad habits. A relationship with him would feel like hitting my head with a stone.

At breakfast, we talked about Sebastian after I showed my family the article.

"See? You deserve better than him. He's already out partying and hooking up with girls less than 24 hours after you turned him down. I never trust that guy. I'm telling you, he ain't gonna change." Dad was all like, "I told you so."

"That's right, Sweet. You're already a public figure, no need to get tangled up with someone who's always in the middle of chaos and scandals. That's a huge stressor. It could totally mess up your life and mental health." Erin advised like an expert.

"If you keep dating Sebastian, your life will be a total circus and you won't have peace of mind. The media and paparazzi will be all over you. You'll have no privacy," Mom warned. "You need a simple man to make you happy and live a peaceful life."

"You mean a guy like the one next door?" Erin was teasing. "I bumped into Jace this morning. He was heading back to the city."

"So soon?" Mom asked.

"He has an urgent meeting." Erin lifted her brows. "Anyway, he mentioned that he's turning his house into his second office. He prefers spending time in Dansville because it's peaceful, has fresh air, and is close to nature. He's able to really concentrate on his work here."

"Of course. He's a down-to-earth guy who finds joy in living an ordinary life. Despite his money, he prefers a humble lifestyle." Mom added.

"He's a great guy, Sweet. Trust me," Dad said. "Yeah, he screwed up when he was younger. He was under the influence and not thinking straight. But that was ages ago, and he learned his lesson. Because of that, he only drinks alcohol in moderation and when there's a reason to celebrate."

"You might wanna give Jace a chance. You were still in love with him until Sebastian came along. Figure out if he's really the one that got away, or Sebastian. Before you make a choice." Erin suggested.

"Please never suggest that," I turned to my sister, "I'm hurting right now, and it's not right to entertain another guy to seek comfort. All I need is my family's love and support to help me move on."

"Of course. My bad. I'm sorry, Sweet." Erin shrugged.

"We're always here for you, Sweet. My wish is for you to heal the wounds in your heart right away." Dad said, "I'm hurting also seeing you hurt."

"Aww, Dad. Thank you." My eyes welled tears, but I controlled myself not to cry. Not again.

Later that evening, I was just browsing my phone, checking out the internet. Articles about Sebastian and me kept pouring in. People on social media assumed we broke up.

She was talking about lying in her blog last night. They're probably not together anymore! [sad face and broken heart emoji]

No doubt, Sebastian got tired of her easily. She's just plain, simple and boring. He needs a worldly woman who can match his fast-paced life [woman in a red dress and bag of money emoji]

This totally crushes our hopes. No billionaire would want to date a regular poor girl like us.

Long-distance relationships never last. Even a billionaire like Sebastian, with all his helicopters and private jets, couldn't handle it.

Sebastian is always up for an adventure and thrills. LDR's excitement died when he realized he could only see his lady-love on weekends.

The chase is over, cravings fade. So, he gets bored. Hahaha. Bye, girl. Next...

I can't believe Sebastian is back on the market! Can I put in my application? [blushing face emoji]

Yeah, we want him to stay single forever. He's our daddy, lots of love for him [too many heart emojis]

The comments made me really mad. Not the ones who commented, just Sebastian. If he still cared about me at all, he wouldn't have jumped at the chance to go to the bar and start living his life to the fullest again. He should've been more thoughtful. We've just ended whatever we had.

I thought I'd reply to my emails to distract myself from thinking of Sebastian.

I saw a message from my publisher, Carol Sanders.

Dear Miss Treble,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to you today to request the final draft of your manuscript as soon as possible. As you may know, we are eagerly anticipating the release of your book, and we are confident that it will be a success.

However, I would like to stress the importance of including your interview with Sebastian Stavrakos. Without it, we will not be able to proceed with the publication process. We understand that writing can be a challenging and time-consuming process, but we ask that you make this a priority.

As a publishing company, we are committed to producing high-quality books for our readers, and we want to ensure that your book meets our standards. We believe in your talent and your vision, and we are excited to work with you to bring your book to life.

I groaned aloud, feeling the pressure. Instead of taking my mind off Sebastian, now I have to deal with this thing that involved him.

It annoyed me I needed to include him in my manuscript, or else they wouldn't publish my book.

Why? This is my book. My creation. I should be the star of my book, not him.

It felt as though my life became intertwined with him, as if there was an indelible mark on my forehead, signifying that I belonged to him. It was imperative for me to include him in the story in order to achieve my dream of having a book published by the Dreamers Publishing Company.

Darn it!

To be honest, I don't want to include Sebastian in my book after he betrayed me. There's no motivation there anymore, since all I feel for him is hate, anger, and disappointment. These emotions will just reflect in my writing and it wouldn't get an excellent result.

I hit the reply button and sent a message to my publisher.

Dear Miss Sanders,

Thank you for your email. Yes, I'm working on my final manuscript at the moment, including the captivating secret of Sebastian Stavrakos that you have been eagerly awaiting.

Please grant me sufficient time to prepare the manuscript. A duration of two weeks would suffice for me to submit the final draft.

Carol Sanders got back to me right away, giving me the time I needed to finish. They couldn't wait to get their hands on the final draft of my manuscript.

Later, I stared at my laptop's screen, thinking.

What will I write about Sebastian?

Sebastian

Monday morning, Mom stormed inside my office.

"What in the world, Sebastian? You're going viral again! I thought you were over your bar-hopping phase."

"I didn't stick around for too long. I went to see Tucker."

"Oh no," she shook her head, "what did you do to that boy?"

"To put him in his place. After what he did, he totally deserved it." My lips thinned with anger, remembering what that bastard did.

"Did you really punch him?" Her eyebrows raised, and I nodded. "Oh, my goodness. I get why his dad avoided me in the lobby."

"I got the same treatment this morning. His son is a real jerk." I said, then sighed deeply. "Sweet is still angry with me."

"Aw, that's sad, Seb. Did you explain your reasons to her?"

"Yeah, I did. But she didn't believe me." I sighed heavily. "Even when I confessed my feelings and dropped the L bomb."

"Really! That was so sweet of you." Her eyes lit up, "you know what, I'm really happy that my prayers have been answered. That is, for you to find the woman to love."

"Well mom, bad news. She didn't think I was serious about her."

"Oh," she pouted.

"Anyways, I listened to your advice, to give her some breathing room to heal. Hoping it would help."

"Good. You have to wait, cause if you pressure her too much, she'll get annoyed and steer clear of you. I'd suggest you concentrate on the business and cut out the bar visits, even if it's just for a bit. You know how the media loves to exaggerate, and Sweet definitely would hate that for sure."

"Oh, speaking of which, I have to explain that to her as well. I hope she doesn't think I'm back to my old habits when she sees those articles online."

"Wait until she's ready to talk and then explain it to her."

"I really hope it won't take forever," I sighed, feeling so frustrated. "I hate this emptiness inside. It's like a big lonely hole. I'm dying to be with her."

"That's what heartbreak feels like. But don't stress, you'll be back together in no time. Just be patient."

I agreed with Mom and trust that Sweet and I would sort things out. I promise, when that time happens, I'm gonna treat her like the most precious jewel and build a strong bond between us.

"Well, I'm here because I have a challenging project for you to handle. The Malik International Airlines in Dubai wants to buy ten planes. The Latsis Company already sent their quote. I need you to take care of it, give a competitive quote, and seal the deal. Okay?"

"No worries." I said confidently. "You can relax. I'll take care of it and ensure the deal is successfully closed."
