Brandy's POV~
When tragedy as such happens you wish things were easier. Simpler. As I cry on the floor of the balcony, Jinx gone and the three of us confused, I look to what was and I question everything. Why? What did they have to do with this? What were they talking about in there? Did anyone survive? The answers to all these questions were sadly "I don't know."
Caitlyn's arms fall from around me as she crawls forward a step before she screams into the floor. It's devastating. My best friend in such pain. Pain that I can recognise. And so can Vi.
Me and my girlfriend look to each other and we come closer together and envelop ourselves with our arms.
"It's ok. It's all going to be ok. We will figure this out." Vi calms me down, this affected her much less than it did me or especially Cait.
"Those were real living people in there. Their lives are just gone now. They don't exist anymore."
"We don't know that. Some people might still be alive."
"Did you see that impact? That explosion? Vi they are gone."
"Well, we're ok. That's all that matters now."
She pulls away from the hug and holds my face in her hands. Her eyes are so sad yet so relieved. I suppose she's holding onto that relief. Maybe it's what's keeping her going right now.
"Yeah, ok. We're ok."
She smiles reassuringly at me and I give her a soft smile in return. She gently pulls my face closer to her and kisses me. The sky turns red around us and I melt into the kiss. Freedom.
It was relieving to feel her like I did. She still kisses the same and holds me the same. She still knows when I need it and when I'd punch her if she tried. She knows me like she did. And so do I. I know how she likes it and how she hates it. I know how and when to hold her. Just like I did all those years ago.
Back in solitary. Back in our cell. Back in Vander's basement. Back in Benzo's shop. Back in her room. Back in my room. I just wish I could go back
