"You gave the vase to your mother?" Dex questioned, looking at Fitz.
Fitz nodded.
"My father likes to give her flowers every now and then, so I thought she'd need it more than I would. Plus it's in the living room, so it's not as if I don't get to see it..." Fitz shrugged.
"Our mother loves it, by the way." Biana stated.
Dex looked at the Vacker siblings who sat across from him at the table in the cafeteria.
"Ah, well, I'm glad." Dex said, nervously rubbing his neck.

Biana sighed softly.
"Sometimes I think she loves you more than us, if I'm being honest." Biana said.
"Oh, that can't be true-" Dex rolled his eyes.
"No, no. Every time we have tea together, she asks about you and your family." Fitz said.
"I mean, I love talking about you to her, but..yeah, she loves you."
Dex couldn't help but smile.
"Well, let her know I'm thankful that she likes the vase I made, it really does mean a lot." Dex said.

"Dexyy!"
Dex blinked as he looked over and Keefe slid down next to him, wrapping his arms around the Technopath. Fitz grumbled and glared at Keefe.
"Uh, hi?" Dex smiled at Keefe.
Keefe frowned at Dex.
"Tam just ditched me." Keefe whined.
"You're the only person I can count on wanting my presence!"
Fitz scoffed.
"Uhm...what about your childhood best friend?" Fitz questioned.
Keefe blinked as he looked at Fitz.
"Oh..uh..." Keefe hesitated.
"Dex is superior than you."
Biana snorted a laugh and Dex tried to hold back a laugh as he smiled.
Fitz sighed.
"...I...I have nothing to say." Fitz said, raising his hands.

"Why did Tam ditch you anyways?" Dex asked, looking at Keefe.
Keefe sighed as he unwrapped his arms around Dex, now just wrapping his arm around Dex's shoulder rather than his body.
"I called him hot again and he hates it when I do that." Keefe said.
Dex laughed and smiled at Keefe.
"Jesus Keefe, seriously?" Dex questioned.
"Hey! My Tammy is super hot! You can't deny it!" Keefe exclaimed.

Dex sighed and he looked at Fitz.
"Why don't you ever call me hot?" Dex asked.
"Uh, you're more adorable than 'hot', no offence Dex." Fitz said.
"The question is, why don't you call me hot?"
"Because I don't have that confidence." Dex said.
"Hey, back to me!" Keefe exclaimed, snapping his fingers.
"Our Empath needs to be in the spotlight, you guys can't flirt!" Biana exclaimed, looking at Fitz and Dex.
"See? Biana gets me!" Keefe smiled at Biana.
Biana stuck her tongue out at Keefe and Keefe frowned.

"Anyywayys..." Keefe said, looking at Dex.
"Tam's probably not gonna talk to me for the rest of the day! So, Dex, I'm coming over later on to cause mischief with your siblings!"
"Please, no." Dex frowned.
"Lex, Bex and Rex keep on asking me to get you to come over so you can teach them more pranks to pull on me."
"...I won't tell them any pranks?" Keefe said, smiling at Dex.
"You're just gonna do them if you aren't gonna tell them." Dex stated, shaking his head.

"Uhm!"
Dex and Keefe looked at Fitz, who seemed to want to speak up.
"I kinda wanted to go over to Dex's place later on." Fitz said, looking at Keefe.
Keefe grinned. "Ooh, jealous, are we Fitzter?"
Fitz glared at Keefe.
"...Never did I think I'd see the day where Dex would have two guys wanting to go to his place after school and never did I think it'd be Fitz and Keefe." Biana said, looking at Dex.
Dex laughed and he covered his smile with his hand.
"Haha...I didn't think I'd see this either." Dex said, smiling at Biana.

"You know what? Keefe, you can babysit my siblings and make sure they give me and Fitz space while we do our own thing in my room. How does that sound?"
Dex glanced between Fitz and Keefe.
"Mmh, sure!" Keefe exclaimed.
"I'll ensure you guys have your private smoochy time-!"
"Keefe, oh my god, we do not make out all the time-" Fitz began.
"What? Oh you're missing out, I love making out with my dear Tam!" Keefe grinned.
"God, Keefe!" Dex scowled.
"Please, just...eugh..."

Keefe raised his eyebrows at Dex and Fitz.
"You guys...seriously don't kiss that much?" Keefe asked.
"They smooch a lot when Dex is over at our place." Biana said, looking at Keefe.
"But not at Rimeshire?" Keefe looked at Dex.
"The triplets like to steal Fitz and harass him and also try to eavesdrop in our conversations. So, we tend to tone things down." Dex said.
"And, well, I wanna show Fitz this gadget I've been working on too...so..."
"Oh, is it that gadget you began working on when we were hailing last night?" Fitz asked.
Dex nodded at Fitz and Fitz smiled.
"I can't wait to see it then."

Keefe felt a lot of positive emotions radiate from Fitz and Dex.
He was happy for his friends, I mean...they seemed genuinely like they were meant for one another and it was sweet listening to them.

*****

Fitz sighed out as he draped his cape on Dex's chair by his desk. Dex made his way over to Fitz and wrapped his arms around Fitz's waist, causing Fitz to smile. Fitz turned to face Dex and Dex was smiling at him.

"For once, we have no one listening in on our conversations." Dex sighed out.
"Yep, it's like a dream come true." Fitz said.
Dex smiled as he reached up and pressed his lips against Fitz's. Before Fitz could even kiss back, Dex pulled away.

"OH I'M GONNA DYE YOUR HAIR PINK KEEFEY!"
"YEAAH!"
"I BEG OF THEE, NO!"
"C'MERE KEEFE!"

Dex couldn't help but laugh as he overheard Keefe yelling and running past his room as the triplets seemed to chase him with some sort of hair dye.
Fitz sighed out.
"Well, even without them listening in, it's good to know they can still interrupt us when we're gonna kiss." Fitz said, looking at Dex.
Dex smiled as he took his hands away from Fitz's body.

"Well, did you really expect we'd have a lot of peace and quiet with Keefe and my siblings in the house causing chaos?" Dex questioned, making his way over to the chair and sitting down on it.
Fitz sighed as he leaned against the desk.
"I guess that's on me then." Fitz said as Dex opened a drawer by his desk and took out the gadget he'd been working on.

Fitz stared at the ring-shaped gadget and he smiled. Dex fiddled with it and stared at it.
"Okay... Well, I know where I'm gonna place the button, I just need to create something that'll be able to project a small image of-" Dex was about to ramble as he searched for more equipment and things he needed.
"First of all, what are you making? I know it's for me but... I need you to tell me, Dex." Fitz said, cutting Dex off.

Dex smiled at Fitz.
"Well, obviously it's a ring." Dex said, holding a golden ring towards Fitz.
"I made it myself, my dad knows how to make jewellery, so he shown me how and helped me. And I want to add this button, maybe a crystal on top and then when you press the button, an image is projected from the crystal. It isn't huge but it'll be small, and what I'm thinking, as cheesy as it may sound, I could insert a picture of myself with my hands in the form of a heart. So that if you ever feel like you need a break from being perfect, or if something is overwhelming you, you just press the button and a small image of me will appear! "

Fitz had to take a few moments to process what Dex had just explained. He smiled and he leaned in, kissing Dex's cheek.
"God, that's adorable. I love that, thank you Dex." Fitz smiled.
Dex's cheeks turned red from embarrassment and he smiled.
"You can thank me when I've finished it!" Dex exclaimed.
"So... you don't mind if I spend an hour or two on this?"
Fitz shook his head.
"I don't mind, I'll watch." Fitz said, smiling.
"Ah, I'll bring in a chair for you so you're not standing! Give me a moment!" Dex exclaimed, placing the ring down on the desk and getting up.
Fitz watched as Dex quickly left the room.

Fitz looked at the ring on the desk and he delicately picked it up. He admired the, for now, bland golden ring and he smiled. He slipped it onto his index finger and it fit perfectly. He wasn't sure how it did, perhaps Dex was just really good at guessing sizes. But he adored it.
Fitz looked at the desk and seen a small sort of technological card on the desk, which Dex may have been wiring to have an image of himself.

Fitz wasn't sure how Dex would be able to make such an object, but he had no doubt in his boyfriend's brilliant talent in his ability, how skilled he was with gadgets and all that techy kind of stuff.

He was excited to have the ring in his possession once Dex was finished with it.

"Okay! You drag the chair in while I get to work!"
"Mmh? Alright, I can't wait to watch you get in the zone."
"Shshshsh! You'll distract me!"

*****

Fitz watched as Dex covered up the small card in the ring by placing the button which he wired with it onto the bottom of the ring. The crystal Dex had glued on top was a teal coloured one, as it matched Fitz's eyes and the image would appear in that sort of hue.

"This is fascinating, watching you work." Fitz said as Dex was looking at every single part of the ring, ensuring nothing was wrong.
"Haha, I'm just doing something I love." Dex said, shrugging.
"Still, my mind sometimes can't comprehend what you say when you explain things, but it's sweet to listen to you talk so passionately about how it all works." Fitz said, resting his cheek on his hand as he watched Dex still staring intensely at the ring.
"Well, as much as I love making such complicated gadgets, it's sometimes frustrating." Dex sighed out.
"Now, it's time to see if this will work."

Dex turned his chair, facing away from Fitz as he pressed the button on the bottom of the ring.
Dex smiled as a image of himself projected, making a heart and disappeared after a few seconds.
"Aha!"
Dex turned around in his chair to face Fitz again.
"Here you go!"
Dex held out the ring for Fitz and Fitz smiled.
"It works?" Fitz questioned.
Dex nodded, a huge grin on his face.
"It works! But you have to really press down on the button, so that if you accidently graze it with your finger, it won't just suddenly project the image of me." Dex said.
"And...it keeps things a little less...erm, obvious."

Fitz gently took the ring and placed it on his index finger.
"Thank you, Dex." Fitz said softly.
"I really...I do appreciate this."
Fitz shuffled a little closer and Dex smiled as Fitz leaned in slightly.
"Of course, you're my boyfriend. I know you're under a lot of pressure, sometimes you just need a reminder that someone loves you just the way you are." Dex said.
Fitz gently cupped Dex's cheeks and Dex really couldn't stop smiling and he leaned in slightly too. Their lips slowly met and Dex melted into the kiss as he rested his hands on Fitz's lap.

Fitz smiled into the kiss and he pulled away very slightly, letting out a soft laugh.
"Ah, god...I love you." Fitz said in a quiet voice.
Dex smiled. "I love you too."
They were about to lock lips once again but both of them got startled as the door slammed opened.
"I am done!" Keefe scowled.
Keefe stopped as he looked at Dex and Fitz, seeing how close they were.
"Oh! Whoops!"
Fitz grumbled and glared at Keefe while Dex pulled away and looked at Keefe.

"Oh god..." Dex grimaced, trying to stifle a laugh as he seen Keefe.
"What did my siblings do to you?"
Keefe's hair was a mess and it had a bit of colour in it. Only the tips of his hair were colourful, but Keefe didn't look too pleased.
"They tackled me and tried to dye my hair." Keefe scowled.
"So, I am gonna go back home and bleach out all this colour from my hair!"
Dex sighed.
"No, stay behind. I can make you something that'll get rid of the colour, something better than bleach." Dex said, getting up.

"Fitz-"
Dex looked at Fitz who was putting on his cape.
"Uh? Are you leaving?" Dex questioned.
Fitz smiled at Dex as he got up and kissed his cheek. Dex's cheeks turned red and he looked at Fitz, still a little confused.
"I need to get home soon anyway, my father wants me for dinner, apparently Lord Vincent will be over with his daughter and so... I can't really stay." Fitz said.
"But, I will hail you if I have the chance later, okay?"

Dex felt strange when Fitz mentioned that Lord Vincent guy but he smiled at Fitz.
"Yeah, okay. Have a nice dinner." Dex said, nodding.
Dex quickly kissed Fitz's cheek and Fitz smiled as he dug out his home crystal.
"Uh, later Fitz." Keefe said, smiling at his best friend.
"Later Keefe." Fitz said, smiling back at the Empath.
Fitz held his crystal up and he light-leapt away, back to Everglen.

"I never liked that Lord Vincent guy." Keefe said.
Dex raised an eyebrow at Keefe.
"You know the guy?" Dex asked.
"He used to visit Everglen often when Fitz and I were younger. Always brought his daughter around." Keefe answered, looking at Dex.
"They attempted to get Fitz and her to have a play date a couple of times. I don't remember her name, but it's some proper sort of fancy name. Man, she was annoying, thankfully Biana took the fall and stole her away so Fitz and I could run off to our spot."

Dex scoffed and bit his lower lip.
"I met him once. He was an ass." Dex said, grumbling.
"Yeah? Don't worry, Fitz wouldn't get with his daughter. Especially since he's dating you now." Keefe said.
"But let's take your mind off it! Help me fix my hair please!"
Dex smiled at Keefe.
"Haha, come on. We gotta go to my dad's workspace." Dex said, walking off and leading the way.
Keefe followed Dex behind.

He didn't like the emotions radiating from the Technopath, but he decided to not bring it up. Not when his hair was in dire need of help.
