Dex sighed as he made his way into the library and towards the table he expected Fitz would want to meet up at.
As Dex appraoched the table, he seen Fitz already sat down by it and he seemed to notice him.
Fitz smiled at Dex and Dex couldn't stop himself from smiling back.

Dex made his way over and sat down across from Fitz, setting the bouquet of flowers onto the desk.
"Hey, my Mentor wanted to talk to me after class so that's why I'm a little late." Dex said, sighing as he ran his fingers through his hair.
Fitz stared at the flowers on the desk.

"You... You've been carrying that all day?" Fitz questioned, looking back at Dex.
Fitz noticed how Dex began to blush and he couldn't help but grin.
"I'd forget them if they were in my locker. And my bag would squish them so..." Dex shrugged, looking away from Fitz.
"It's not been fun, I mean... every single girl at Foxfire keeps glaring at me because you gave me these flowers."

Fitz sighed.
"Yeah, they kept bothering me about that too." Fitz said.
"I mean, I can't give a bouquet of flowers to my friend? To apologise?"
Dex's heart sank, but he didn't think much of it. He knew he would only be Fitz's friend. They would never become anything more. But... he was okay with that.

"Apparently not. You need to start courting a girl apparently." Dex said, grinning at Fitz.
Fitz let out a laugh.
"Yeah, God... All of those girls are so exhausting though." Fitz sighed softly.
"I mean, I nearly didn't come here because a whole group of them swarmed around me."
"Hey, you are an attractive guy. They all just want to try and claim you as theirs." Dex said shrugging.
"Though they have no reason to be jealous of me. You're not into guys. And like you said, we're just friends."
Now Fitz felt a strange emotion overcome him.
"Exactly." Fitz said, smiling at Dex.

"Y'know, I should've started being nicer to you sooner." Fitz sighed softly.
"Mmh, how come?" Dex asked, raising an eyebrow at Fitz
"It's just... it's nice talking to you, I guess. If I started talking to you sooner, maybe I'd feel less pressured about trying to be perfect all the time..." Fitz shrugged, smiling at Dex.
God, Fitz really knew how to make Dex fall even more for him, didn't he?

"Other than Keefe though, right?" Dex questioned.
"Ugh, Keefe doesn't count." Fitz said, shaking his head.
"He's more like a brother to me. You're my friend. It's different!"
"Is it...?"
"It is."

As they continued to chat, Dex felt more and more comfortable as Fitz seemed to open up a little more towards him too.
Fitz wasn't lying. Talking to Dex was different than talking to anyone else. It felt... better to talk to Dex than to Keefe. Fitz loved Keefe, platonically, and he loved talking to him but now...
Now he had someone else he could talk to.
Someone else he could rely on when he feels like he's trapped, like he's stuck having to be this perfect guy all the time.

And... that was honestly pretty cool. Fitz was thankful towards Keefe for convincing him to talk to Dex in the first place, even if it started out rocky.

Dex sighed as he was struggling to finish this homework one of his mentors assigned him.
Dex rubbed his eyes, groaning and leaning back in his seat.
He hated homework so much.

Dex the looked over by his dresser by his bed and he seen the bouquet of flowers he had placed in a vase with water in it. Dex smiled as he stared at the array of flowers, admiring them from afar.

What a silly little thing. Everytime Dex looked at the flowers, his heart fluttered and he could not stop smiling to himself.

Okay, he knew that there was no way he'd have a chance with Fitz. Especially with how many times Fitz seemed to state that they were just 'friends'. A little heartbreaking to hear multiple times, but it's not as if Dex expected Fitz to think of him as a possible boyfriend. Especially since it was so obvious Fitz was straight.

But... it really did warm Dex's heart that Fitz gave him flowers and apologised in front of all of his admirers. I mean, yes Dex hated how the girls glared at him all day. Though, it felt... powerful in a way. To be holding a bouquet of flowers from the Fitz Vacker, and the fact that Dex wasn't a girl or from a super noble family, and making all those girls jealous? Yeah, Dex couldn't help but feel a little pleased with himself and more important than those girls.

Dex quickly snapped out of his thoughts.
He couldn't let himself get distracted by his silly feelings for Fitz. He had to get this homework done!

"It worked?" Biana questioned, smiling at Fitz.
Biana was sat on the edge of Fitz's bed and Keefe was laying on the bed, his head by the end of it. He sort of hung down from the bed, his vision of everything upside down. Fitz was just pacing back and forth.

"Yes, it worked- Keefe. Please sit up. This is... distracting." Fitz said, looking at his best friend.
"Boo! You're not fun!" Keefe stuck his tongue out at Fitz.
Biana looked at Keefe and she giggled as Keefe got up and shuffled about to sit next to her.
Fitz looked at Keefe and Biana, standing in front of them.

"It was a little embarrassing though." Fitz said, fiddling with his hands.
"Embarrassing?" Keefe raised his eyebrows.
"How come?"
Fitz's cheeks turned red and he shrugged.
"I dunno, there was just a lot of girls watching and it felt more of a private moment." Fitz stated.
"And, it's just the fact that Dex laughed at my apology before he accepted it, it made me feel weird."

Biana raised her eyebrows.
"Yeah, okay... but who cares about a bunch of girls who were there just to see if you were going to confess?" Biana questioned, shrugging.
"They're all so nosy. I hope you never confess to one of them!"
Fitz looked at Biana.
"Well, I don't intend on confessing to any girl." Fitz said.

"Oh, are you coming out right now?" Keefe gasped, looking at Fitz.
"Will you confess to Dex~?"
Fitz's face turned completely red.
Biana smiled at Keefe and looked at Fitz.
"Haha! Okay Keefe, shut up. Leave my brother alone." Biana said.
Fitz looked at Biana.
He felt... strange when Biana shut down Keefe's comment so quickly.
"Yeah, C'mon Keefe. I don't like Dex like that." Fitz said, scowling slightly.
Keefe looked at Fitz and he frowned.
"Mmh. Yeah, my bad." Keefe said.

Suddenly, Biana's imparter went off.
"Oh!" Biana exclaimed, taking out her imparter.
"Ah, it's Tam. I need to answer this."
Biana got up and smiled at Fitz.
"I'm glad things worked out for you and Dex!"
Biana patted Fitz's shoulder before she left the room.

Keefe watched as Biana left and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Tam's hailing Biana?" Keefe huffed.
"What is this? Do they have something going on?"
Keefe looked at Fitz.
Keefe's expression softened as he seen how Fitz was biting at his nails now.
"... Fitzy, everything okay?" Keefe asked.

Fitz sat down next to Keefe and he kept nibbling at his nails.
"I'm fine." Fitz said, shaking his head.
Keefe sighed as he rested his head on Fitz's shoulder.
Fitz froze for a moment but he lowered his hand from his mouth and looked at Keefe.
Keefe fiddled with his hands and took a deep breath.
"You're feeling a lot of things right now." Keefe said.
Fitz bit his lower lip.
"I've had a long day, Keefe." Fitz said.

"Mmh... yeah, with girls bothering you about giving Dex flowers." Keefe said, lifting his head from Fitz's shoulder and looking at Fitz.
"I...I still can't believe you gave Dex flowers."
"And chocolate." Fitz added.
Keefe raised his eyebrows, smiling.
"Mmh, yeah and chocolate. I mean, did Biana put you up to that?" Keefe asked.
"Well, yeah but... I dunno. I thought it'd also be suitable for an apology instead of bothering Dex with telepathic communication like I did a few days ago." Fitz shrugged.

"And... I think it was the right thing. He seemed to like the flowers, I mean, he seemed happy. I just wish he didn't laugh in my face before he accepted my apology..."
Keefe looked at Fitz and he smiled.
"Mmh... yeah, well... you seem pleased that Dex seemed so happy." Keefe said.
"Speaking of which, I didn't see you at lunch. What were you doing?"
Fitz cleared his throat, feeling his cheeks warm once more.
"Aha... I was having lunch with someone else." Fitz smiled at Keefe.
Keefe smirked.

"Uh-huh...I'm winning this bet."
"You're not."
"Mmh, I beg to differ."
"Keefe, I'm this close to kicking you out of my house."

Fitz was a little confused with his emotions.
Why did it seem like Biana couldn't cope with Fitz liking a guy? I mean, Fitz didn't like a guy, he didn't. He did not. But... if he did, would she... see him differently?
Fitz knew he didn't like guys, but his emotions towards Dex were something he never felt before.
He felt comfortable around Dex. Like, he felt as though he could just talk to Dex about whatever he wanted to and that Dex wouldn't judge him...

Okay, yes, Fitz also had Keefe to talk to but his emotions towards Dex were different. Way different.

But it was not love! Fitz did not have feelings for Dex Dizznee!

He just didn't.
