In real life
Nevaeh FaceTimes me and I quickly answer. "Hi, angel." I smile at her. "Hey, baby." She grins. "Ugh, Bil, I miss you so fucking much." She groans. "I miss you too, baby." I sigh. "I think I have some free time in a few weeks and I could come see you." I shrug. "Really?" Her eyes light up. "Mhm." I nod. "Don't get your hopes up, though. I can't guarantee it 100%." I tell her. "Okay." She nods her head.
"Ugh, why'd I have to fall for someone who lives all the way in fucking Jersey?" I groan. "Maybe make sure you're typing the right number in next time then." She laughs. "Greatest mistake of my life." I say, making her smile shyly. "I'm so glad I met you, Vaeh." I tell her. "I'm so glad I met you too, baby."She says. "We've only been together.. like, 3 weeks and I'd already say this is my best relationship I've ever had." She chuckles. "Really?" My eyes widen.
"Yeah." She nods. "I like you a lot, Bil, like.. a lot." She says with a small smile. "I like you a lot too, Vae. You're honestly my favorite person." I laugh. "You're my third favorite person." She tells me, causing me to frown. "Third?" I ask. "Isaiah first, Sunny second and you third." She explains. "I guess that makes sense, but I should still be number one." I shrug. "Okay, maybe." She rolls her eyes. "I'll take it." I chuckle. "Baby?" She says.
"Yeah, angel?" I ask. "I really miss you." She sighs with a frown on her face. "I know I already said that, but I can't help it." She laughs. "I hate that I'm already so attached to you and I can't even get a hug from you whenever I want one."
"I know, me too, baby. I want to be with you so badly right now." I sigh. Long distance is so fucking hard. "Everything sucked today and all I wanted was a hug from you." She says, making a frown grow on my face. "Why did everything suck?" I question. "My depression is sort of bad today." She shrugs. Nevaeh has been open to me about her struggles with her mental health and I'm really grateful for that because I don't want her to go through this alone.
"Did you take your meds?"
She was embarrassed for some reason when I found out she's on antidepressants, but I told her it's nothing to feel bad about. It's important that they help her feel better.
"Yeah, I did." She nods her head. "Like, I literally almost had a panic attack just because I couldn't get one move right for a dance I was making. It's probably cause I'm on my period or some shit." She rolls her eyes. "I'm sorry, angel." I sigh. "It's okay. I told my parents about you today and they were all like 'Nevaeh, you should focus on work and not all of these girls!' because apparently I'm always 'in between girlfriends,' but I'm literally not." She says.
"I just wish they could be happy for me once in a while." She sighs sadly.
My poor girl.
"You deserve better than that, baby. I'm so proud of you regardless and don't listen to their stupid opinions." I say. "Thank you, B." She gives me a small smile. "Of course, Vae." I grin.
Nevaeh stays on the phone with me while she gets ready for bed and once she's done, she gets into bed, Sunny laying next to her. "I've been cuddling Sunny more because you're not here." She tells me. "Wow, the dog's replaced me?" I put a hand over my heart, pretending that I'm offended by that. "Girl, she was here first." She laughs. "True." I giggle.
She shuts her lamp off and lays her head down. "Baby, can you stay on the phone with me till I fall asleep?" She asks. "Of course, my love." I nod my head with a smile. "Okay. Goodnight, baby." She says softly. "Goodnight, angel." I blow her a kiss through the screen which makes her laugh.
She closes her eyes while holding Sunny close to her. The two both quickly fall asleep and I take a FaceTime photo of them since they look cute.
"Sleep well, baby girl." I whisper before hanging up.
I really like Nevaeh.
