"New arrival detected, Wayne Manor perimeter."
The 2's playful moment was instantly forgotten as they turned our focus to the incoming threat.
Bruce's expression grew serious, and he moved swiftly to the Bat computer to gather more information.
Jason and lauren exchange a quick, concerned look.
The stern and robotic voice of the Bat computer's announcement had halted the between the 2 teenagers flirtatious banter, bringing them back to the seriousness of the situation.
Bruce's expression turned grave, and he swiftly made his way to the Bat computer, his fingers dancing across the keyboard as he gathered more information about the approaching figure.
As the unknown individual drew closer, the grand entrance to the Batcave revealed a striking and elegant figure.
Nightwing the first Robin stood tall and confident in the entrance to the Batcave, his presence commanding respect and admiration.
His dark blue costume was sleek and form-fitting, a testament to his acrobatic prowess and combat abilities.
The black bat emblem on his chest was a symbol of his legacy as a former Robin and his evolution into his own hero.
His dark hair was neatly styled into a small curl at the from.
his handsome features were framed by the white filmed mask that concealed his identity, giving him an air of mystery.
Nightwing's self-confidence was evident in every step he took mixed with a a fluid grace a testament to his acrobatic background as the original Boy Wonder.
his charismatic aura was hard to ignore.
His reputation as a seasoned crime-fighter and a hero in his own right had earned him respect among both allies and adversaries.
Nightwing's presence in the Batcave added another layer of complexity to the dynamic between heroes, making it clear that he was a force to be reckoned with and a respected figure in the world of crime-fighting.
JASONS POV
Slowly he took in the scene of the bat cave I feel his gaze landed on the unfamiliar face in the Batcave.
Lauren, the newest member of our team, stood there, her presence catching him by surprise.
Nightwing, our older counterpart, had just arrived, and I couldn't help but feel irritated by his usual swagger.
There was a sense of rivalry between us, and his arrival had only added to the tension in the room.
I could sense his curiosity and surprise, and he spoke with a hint of questioning in his voice.
"Who's this, Batman?" Nightwing inquired, his tone polite but inquisitive.
Bruce, who had temporarily forgotten to introduce Lauren in the midst of the incoming threat, cleared his throat and provided the necessary information.
"Nightwing, this is Lauren, a trusted member of our team. She's been assisting us with monitoring the missions and providing valuable support."
Nightwing's eyes widened in recognition as Bruce's words registered, and he took a step forward.
"Ah, Lauren, it's a pleasure to finally meet you. Batman mentioned your contributions." He flashes his usual charismatic smile that charms all he speaks to not me though only pisses me off.
I could read Laurens body language becoming more and more impressed by Nightwing's self-assured demeanor and the charisma that accompanied him.
He exuded a quiet authority that was hard to ignore and most choose to lap it up.
When Nightwing inquired about Lauren, I couldn't help but interject, my tone tinged with annoyance. "Nightwing, it's great to see you."
My voice held an underlying tension as I addressed the older vigilante, my irritation evident.
Nightwing's calm and self-assured demeanor didn't go unnoticed, but there was a spark of irritation in his voice as well. He asked, "Missed me much?"
I couldn't let his comment slide and shot back, "Maybe not as much as you missed showing off."
Nightwing, always the provocateur, took it a step further.
He leaned in slightly and lowered his voice, a smirk playing on his lips, and made a comment that hit a nerve.
"Or should I say, our new friend who's quite the charmer, Jason? I wonder what she thinks of all this."
The insinuation that he might share Lauren's feelings with me was a low blow, one that didn't escape me.
My jaw clenched even tighter, and I felt a surge of anger.
Before the situation could escalate further, Alfred appeared, and his commanding presence instantly settled the tension in the Batcave.
His reminder that this was neither the time nor the place for such exchanges was clear, and both Nightwing and I understood the unspoken command.
We both nodded in agreement, setting aside our rivalry temporarily and refocusing my attention on lauren.
As the tension in the Batcave dissipated, I turned my attention to Lauren, who had approached Alfred to greet him.
The conversation between Nightwing and me had been set aside for the moment, but it was far from forgotten.
While Alfred and Lauren engaged in conversation, I took the opportunity to clean and inspect my suit, trying to ignore the presence of Nightwing, who seemed to be lingering and copying me for no apparent reason.
As we both began to clean our suits, I couldn't help but glance over at Nightwing.
He seemed to be taking his time, almost deliberately annoying me with his nonchalant attitude.
I couldn't contain my curiosity any longer and asked, "Nightwing, what brings you here?"
He looked up from his suit, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Alfred invited me to dinner thought it would be a good idea for me to catch up with the family."
I raised an eyebrow, not entirely convinced by his explanation.
"Dinner, huh? Seems like you could've come earlier if you were really interested in catching up."
Nightwing's smirk widened, and he decided to push my buttons even further.
"Well, you know, I might have if I knew I would be introduced to Lauren quicker." he flicked me a sly smile as if to rub it in that he knows.
The insinuation that he wanted to meet Lauren earlier to spend time with her irked me. I clenched my fists, feeling a surge of frustration.
the night only grew worse from there.

1 HOUR LATER
The dinner was a formal affair, held in the grand dining room of Wayne Manor.
Alfred like usual had spared no expense in preparing a lavish meal, and the long table was set with fine china and crystal glasses.
The atmosphere was cordial, but there was an underlying tension in the air.
As the meal progressed, Alfred introduced Nightwing, who went by his civilian name, Dick Grayson, to Lauren.
She seemed taken aback by the presence of another vigilante and tried to maintain a friendly demeanor, despite the tension between Dick and me.
During dinner, Dick couldn't help but regale everyone with tales of his recent exploits.
He shared stories of his crime-fighting endeavors, and it was clear that he took pride in his accomplishments.
"I managed to stop a major drug ring in Blüdhaven last week," he said, his voice filled with confidence. "Took down the ringleader all by myself. It was a God's honest miracle."
I exchanged a subtle glance with Bruce, who remained stoic, while Lauren listened intently.
I couldn't resist a snide comment and remarked, "Well, aren't you the amazing first Boy Wonder?"
Dick raised an eyebrow, not missing the sarcasm in my tone. "What's that supposed to mean, Robin?"
I leaned in, my voice dripping with bitterness. "It means you always have to one-up everyone, don't you? You were the first, and you want everyone to know it."
Dick's gaze hardened, and his jaw clenched as my words hit home.
The room grew uncomfortably quiet as he formulated his response.
Lauren's eyes darted between the two of us, sensing the deep-seated tension, and Bruce and Alfred exchanged concerned glances.
Finally, Dick broke the silence.
"I don't have to prove anything to anyone, especially not you, Jason " he pauses cocking his eyebrow "want to now why? ... "
I give no response setting my anger harder my face showing all.
"I don't have to prove anything to you Jason because You'll never be as good as me." his voice was low and accusatory.
I could sense the weight of his words, the unspoken history between us.
The rivalry, the comparison, and the ever-present need to measure up had always loomed over our interactions.
Despite the bitterness of our exchange, I couldn't deny the sense of hurt that had welled up inside me.
He was the original Robin, and it felt like I was always in his shadow even when he's not here.
With that I couldn't bear to stay in that room any longer.
Without uttering another word, I pushed my chair back, the harsh scraping sound reverberating through the room, and stormed out, leaving behind the lingering tension and the unresolved issues between the two of us.
As I left the dining room, I grappled with the complex emotions that had been stirred up.
The amazing first Boy Wonder was a tough act to follow, and I couldn't help but feel the weight of that legacy.
