A few weeks had passed since the break started, the house was looking more and more clean and Sirius was finally starting to warm up to the boys. The order had gotten larger, with a few of the old members deciding to join, and even a few new members.
Kirra was always happy when Tonks came around, the two of them seemed to get along really well. Mattheo, Jasper and Theo tended to stick together, a large percentile of the order didnt trust them and sent them dirty looks whenever Kirra wasnt looking.
They werent usually allowed to attend the meetings either, though they didnt care, they only wanted to go to the meetings if Kirra or them were getting assigned to a mission, which wasnt very often.
They had just got word the night before that a group of them would be going to Privet Drive today to go and bring Harry over. Kirra had been extatic once she heard the news, however, the boys didnt like the idea one bit.
"You cant be serious! It's too dangerous," Jasper quickly spoke up, looking over at Mad-eye Moody as he stated who would be going on the retrieval mission.
Mad-eye Moody turned his magical eye toward the young Slytherin, and there was a discernible edge to his voice as he responded, "Not worse than what she's dealt with before. Besides, this is what it means to be a part of the Order."
The three younger boys who had all stood up once they heard her name mentioned were looking around at a few of the members at the table who they had expected to keep Kirra safe.
"If she's going than I'm going to," Mattheo said firmly
"I second that," Theodore and Jasper spoke simulataneously
"Sit down," Kirra spoke to them, her tone a little more firm than her usual cheery one. The three of them sat down instantly, looking at her with a mixture of surprise and confusion.
"You're way too young! You shouldnt be expected to go out on dangerous missions like this!" Jasper told her in worry
"The three of you need to remember that while I may technically be too young, I've been doing this for a long time okay. I was in the order before and I did plenty of missions, missions that were way more dangerous than this. Besides, we cant just leave Harry there, and I want to help bring him here."
"She can do it," Remus spoke firmly, "she's one of the most powerful witches in our ranks, we need her there to make sure that Harry gets brought back safely," he explained to the boys
"Bu-" Sirius spoke up to argue, also not wanting Kirra out in the danger zone, especially not yet. He already lost her once, she didnt plan on losing her again
Remus was quick to cut him off with a look though, making the man quiet down.
"I'll be fine," she promised the group of them
Kirra Potter was sitting on the end of her bed staring at the wall when Mattheo walked in. "Do you really have to go? I mean, why cant you just stay here?" he looked confused as he didnt hear an answer come from her, "Potter?"
A small sigh fell from his lips as he noticed her current state. He walked over to her, crouching down in front of her, "love?" He looked up at her face, she had gone a sickenly pale colour, her light green eyes replaced by a dark green colour. He grabbed her hands softly in his own, squeezing her hands in his own, "little badger?"
She blinked once, her head tilting slightly as she looked at the boy in front of her, a blank look on her face. "Love?" he repeated, confusion crossed her face before she inhaled, her eyes widening a little as she quickly pulled her hands away from him.
"Mattheo?" she asked him. She shivered slightly as goosebumps covered her skin.
"You need to tell me whats going on little badger, this is the like the 20th time I've found you like this in the last three weeks," he mumbled to her, bringing a hand up to cup her face, rubbing her freckled skin softly with his thumb.
She grabbed his hand softly, pulling it away from her face and standing up, "it's nothing Theo, I told you, I'm just tired," she mumbled out softly, beginning to walk towards the door. Mattheo caught up to her quickly, their height comparison giving him an easy advantage.
He grabbed onto her wrist softly, pulling her around to face him. "And I believed you the first two times, but you can't keep brushing this off kirra, I know that there is something wrong and i'm not the only one who has noticed it, we all have!"
"There is nothing to notice!" Kirra told him quickly, "there is nothing wrong okay?"
"Please... we're worried about you."
Kirra just shook her head, "youre all worrying about nothing okay? I'm fine," she told him, her fingers subconsciously reaching down to play with the yellow hair tye on her wrist. Mattheo rolled his eyes, a scoff falling from his lips
"Why won't you just tell me whats wrong?! We're all here for you and we are all worried!" he exclaimed, his voice beginning to raise as he looked down at her, a mixture of frustration and worry covering his face, "is it because youre worried about the mission or what? Is there something else? Please. Please just tell me."
Kirra pulled away from him, shaking her head softly at him. Her eyes were lingering on the ground, not being able to bring herself to look at him, "you dont need to worry, I can look after myself," she told him firmly. The last thing she wanted was for them to be worried about her.
"Can you?!"
Kirra looked up at him with a glare, "what the hell is that supposed to mean?"
"You know what I mean!" he snapped, "you're spacing out all the time and it's getting worse! All these years you keep telling us 'I can look after myself' but you havent exactly got the best track record do you?"
Kirra scoffed, "whatever," she grumbled
Mattheo sighed, not wanting to upset her, but wanting to push her enough for her to open up to him. "I dont want to argue with you okay! I just want you to help me understand whats happening so that I can help you!"
"You cant help me Mattheo okay?! Nobody can help me!" she finally snapped. Mattheo looked down at her, confusion flashing over his face. He stepped towards her, trying to hold her, but she stepped back from him
"I-I dont know why i've spaced out a few times, but im sure its nothing to worry about, its just the stress okay?" Kirra told him with a firm nod
"you should tell him."
She shook her head softly
"Just tell him, he is worried about you, look at him."
"I can't" she whispered under her breath, "please just stop."
"What?" Mattheo asked her in confusion. Kirra looked over at him, "nothing, I didnt say anything," she said quickly, going to walk out of the door. He grabbed her once again, picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder
"Hey! What!" she exclaimed as Mattheo carried her over to the bed, dropping her down and then climbing on top of her, laying down and trapping her with his body weight. "Mattheo! Ge'roff me- Ca- Cant breath."
Mattheo rolled next to her, wrapping his arms tightly around her, holding her against him. She tried to pull herself from his arms, but it was no use. "Mattheo, I need to go, theyre probably waiting for me down stairs," she complained, a small huff falling from her lips
"I hate it when we argue," Mattheo muttered to her. Kirra didnt say anything, but the sad look on her face told him that she hated it too. "You know I didnt mean to upset you..."
Mattheo leant forward and began to place kisses over her face. "Theo no... I need to go," she complained. Mattheo kept kissing her, "Mattheo Riddle." She warned him but he just smiled softly at her
"Kiss me," he muttered, placing a kiss on her nose, "please?" he pleaded with her, his chocolate eyes gazing into hers. A small sigh fell from her lips, a kiss tugging on the corner of her mouth as she leant forward, placing her lips against his.
Their lips met in a tender, affectionate kiss that conveyed all the emotions they felt for each other. Kirra's initial resistance had given way to the warmth of Mattheo's affection, and she kissed him back, her lips fitting perfectly against his.
Mattheo deepened the kiss, his hand gently caressing her cheek, while Kirra's hand rested on his chest. Their breaths quickened as the kiss deepened, a subtle heat building between them.
As the kiss continued, their hearts raced, and the world around them faded into the background. It was just the two of them, lost in the sweet and passionate connection they shared. Mattheo's fingers gently ran through Kirra's hair as they kissed, savoring the taste and feel of each other's lips.
Eventually, they broke the kiss, both of them breathless, their eyes locked in a moment of shared affection. Mattheo's voice was soft as he whispered, "I love you, little badger."
Kirra smiled, her heart filled with warmth and love. "I love you too, Riddle."
"Stay with me," he begged her, "I dont want you to leave."
"You know that I need to go sweet boy," she whispered to him with a sigh, burrying her head into his chest. They were interupted by a knock on the door
"Kirra? Hate to ruin whatever you two are up to in there but we gotta go!"
Mattheo let out a sigh but Kirra chuckled softly, "okay Tonks, I'm coming out now!"
She turned to Mattheo, placing one last kiss on his lips, "dont worry, ill be back soon," she said, placing a kiss on his cheek. "Keep the other two in check and make sure they dont get into one of their stupid arguments, I think theyre gonna give Pads grey hair," she giggled. Mattheo put on a fake smile, loosening his grip around her
"Remember if you die-"
"You'll kill me?" Kirra cut him off with a grin, climbing off the bed. She blew him a kiss before pulling the door open, "see you later love," she called, pulling the door shut behind her and running down the stairs
Mattheo rolled onto his back, staring up at the ceiling for a moment before closing his eyes, just listneing silently to the house around him
"Hey! No running down the stairs!"
"Sorry Rem!" he heard her reply and then heard a small thud, followed by an 'ow'
Mattheo cracked a small grin, "clumsy as ever," he muttered under his breath. His grin faded again as he thought back to the look that was on her face when he had walked into the room. The blank look on her face... and when he had crouched down in front of her, looking at her eyes... they werent their usual bright green... they were a dull, foggy green.
He had spent hours awake at night trying to figure out what the hell was going on with her, but in all the books that he had read over the years, there was nothing that could help. Her case was... special... to say at the least.
And the worst part was when she would snap out of her trances and for a few moments when she would look at him... it was like she didnt recognise him. He rolled over to face her side of the bed, grabbing her pillow and wrapping his arms around it.
He wanted to help her. But everytime that he would bring it up, she blocked him off straight away, shutting down the conversation instantly.
A frustrated groan fell from his lips, his hand running through his brown locks.
