CHAPTER THREE
"WOAH, RETRO"

BROOKLYN put down three glasses and a bottle of chilled white wine.
"so, what's everyone gonna paint?" amanda asked, reaching for a glass.
"i'm not sure yet." brooklyn said as she opened the wine bottle. "what about you, angela?"
angela laughed. "i have no clue." she said as brooklyn poured wine in all three glasses.
"well, i'm going to paint a cute little fall scene with trees and pumpkins." amanda said, taking a sip.
"good luck with that." angela said. brooklyn chuckled.
"hey!" amanda exclaimed, trying to hide her laughter.
"i love you 'manda, but i watched the figure painting stream." brooklyn sat down. "and angela was there."
amanda and angela laughed as brooklyn took a sip of her wine. the three of them began painting, focusing hard on their creations. the sound of mean girls was practically tuned out, with the occasional laugh from the three women.
a couple hours later, the movie was over, their paintings were drying on the table, and the wine was all gone. amanda, angela, and brooklyn moved to the couch.
"so, how's married life?" brooklyn asked amanda. amanda smiled.
"oh, it's the best." she beamed. "i'm having a great time."
"what's going on with you brookie?" angela asked.
"not much." she answered. "but i don't mind being single."
"did amanda tell you she's trying to get shayne topp to ask you out?"
brooklyn's face went red. "amanda! you talked to him too!?"
"well, yeah." amanda said. "i'm trying to spread the word to both parties." angela laughed. brooklyn pressed her face into a throw pillow.
"all i said was that i have a friend he might get along with." amanda defended herself. angela made a face at amanda but quickly stopped when brooklyn moved the pillow.
"i didn't even tell him you think he's hot."
"you think he's hot!?" angela yelled, practically jumping off the couch.
"objectively!" brooklyn said. "i mean, we've all seen him."
angela and amanda cackled as brooklyn groaned in embarassment.
"i'm never telling either of you anything ever again." brooklyn declared.
amanda swatted at the air. "you say that all the time."
"okay, but is it not weird to date him if i watch smosh?" brooklyn asked.
"you're not like a super fan though." amanda said. "you didn't even know what eat it or yeet it was."
angela laughed. "you didn't know about eat it or yeet it?"
"hey! i watched every blank ever when amanda joined!" brooklyn defended.
"woah, retro." angela joked.
"and now, every monday i listen to smosh mouth, for amanda." brooklyn emphasized the last part due to the looks on amanda and angela's faces.
"but that puts me in fan territory with shayne."
"what's his middle name?" amanda asked.
"how am i supposed to know?" brooklyn asked.
"because it's very public information." amanda explained. "obviously you aren't a huge fan if you don't know his middle name is..." she gestured toward angela.
"robert." angela said.
"mmh." brooklyn said. "well, stop harassing shayne robert topp at work." she said.
"it wasn't harassment!" amanda said.
angela laughed. "it was light harassment."
