2YEARS LATER....
SOLEA
Waking up to the harsh and scruffy voice of a mid 40 year old man over the intercom, Solea could hear the pilot from her slumber, alerting her that they have landed back in her hometown Houston,Texas.
With drowsy eyes Solea starts getting her stuff together and text her brother that her plane has landed.
Solea was so excited to see her brother, faceTiming for 2 years while she was away was hard on her, but with the encouragement of her family she was able to push through and continue.
Being in Barcelona was everything she hoped for. Down to the tourist sites, food, history and friends she made that became family to her. It was an experience of a lifetime that she will never forget. She plans on going back but she needed this time with her family, to see where she wants to plan out her life in the future.
Being away from her family after a big event was not apart of her plan, but she had dreams and more of life she wanted to see.
20minutes later after unboarding the plane and gathering her luggage she was walking out the terminal and outside to pickup
Walking out of the double doors with the wind blowing her 30" buss down unit Solea kept her head on a swivel. Looking back and forth trying to spot a familiar car with her family she was left with no luck.
Taking her phone out to browse her socials since it was clear her brother wasn't going to be picking her up on time, she started to open up her Instagram to updated her followers she landed.
Solea was very known in the influencer community, with 1million subscribers on her YouTube channel (that she has yet to get back into the groove of after taking a mental break 2 months ago), 300k on TikTok and having 654k Instagram followers wasn't something she took lightly.
Solea was blessed everytime she thought about the opportunities she was handed from being an influencer; to meeting celebrities, being invited to award shows, exclusive vip party invites and more.
After pulling out her phone and taking a picture of herself at the airport she continued scrolling through on her device. After seconds of scrolling through Instagram stories from friends her heart skipped when she came across Sante' on her brothers close friends. It was a screen recording of them on FaceTime with the caption Ready for my bro to touch down.
Showing all 32 with a Colgate smile, Sante' was rolling up a wood in the Instagram story, laughing at whatever her brother was saying. Solea couldn't even comprehend what he would possibly laughing at. All she could do was stare at her screen as her stomach clenched and heart sank.
The last time Solea and Sante' talked was the day of her flight to board for her trip. She called him that morning to express her feelings and get everything off of her chest, to let it be known how she feels and that if it's not mutual she respect it and wouldn't mind continuing a friendship .
However, after the forth ring a female picked up. Somebody she didn't know and somebody she didn't think was family considering she was calling at 7 in the morning.
With a uncertain tone she asked her was Sante' around, which she replied "no he went to the gym, did you need me to send a message ?".
Although her response was polite Solea just couldn't go through with it so she declined the offer and got off the phone.
After ending the conversation she decided to block his number. She knows it probably would've been better if she waited till he called back but she felt like it wasn't her right to question him about another woman.
With a queasy stomach and sweaty hands she blocked and deleted the messages they've shared and walked through the doors to the airport.
Seeing Sante' and his smile definitely brought back feelings she thought she pushed down and got rid of. Feeling her stomach turn reminded her of the same feeling from two years ago. She could only imagine how it would be to have him in her presence physically with the reaction she was getting from just seeing him on her phone.
While stalking her man her man her man in her head she gets a text from her brother.
Rashad🤞🏾: Look up big head
With a slight laugh she looks up and see her brother waving her down in his black 2023 Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Walking up to the car Rashad gets out and hugs his little sister in the tightest hug he could muster up. "Hey lil sis" he says while hugging her.
Looking at his sister he can see how much she's grown. Her brown skin glowing in the sun, her smile bright as if she just saw a shooting star the night before. She looked more content with how her life has gone since he last seen her. Radiating warmth and positive energy.
Stepping back from their hug he helps her put her bags in the car while she gets in, not having to lift a finger.
"Oooo Okk then bro, you got this nice ass car. What you been up to? " Solea says in shock. Not knowing that he had love for cars with an expensive taste.
With a deep laugh he looks over to her "This that hard earn money ".
Starting up the car they start their drive back to his house. Talking and laughing is all you could hear in the car from the brother sister duo. Both of them missed their sibling and was happy to have some time to catch up on life.
"So what's been up with you ?" Rashad questioned. Trying to really see where his sister's head been at while gone. "You got a man while you been m.i.a from the family?."
With an eye roll Solea looks at him with an unamused expression. "No, I've been busy on my brand and trying to build it.My goal is to really have a all beauty salon here".
Looking over at his sister with a smile, he couldn't help but feel proud. "That's what's up Solea I'm so proud of what you've been doing , real shit."
Smiling she looks over to him "Thank you ugly" as they both laugh.
Pulling up to his house they both unload the suv and make their way into the 2 story house.
"This how y'all living?" She questions in shock. "I know you lying this is a nice house rashad" Solea says looking back at her brother then back at his 2 story home.
"Yea me and nova was working really hard to get the house we been dreaming for, lil mama was so adamant on getting a 2 story house with a arch in-front of the door and a garage" he ends off with a laugh
"As she should" she says with a squeal. "My sis got some good taste"
"Alright now hold on cause i helped too let's not do all that" Rashad mentioned with a wary side eye. As he was talking Solea was halfway up the steps to the door, not bothering to even hear what her brother was trying to say.
Walking in the the duo put Solea's luggage in the guest room and continued their talk. After getting everything together Solea notice that the house is quiet.
"Where's nova ?" She ask
"Oh she went out to run some errands but she gonna come back and cook, all she been talking bout is you being here trust" he shook his head thinking back to his wife's excitement of his sister coming home.
With a smile Solea turns around "ahh i missed my girl too we bout to cause hell" she says with her tongue out. After hearing those words he groans, already knowing she wasn't lying.
"We'll I'm gonna go take a nap until dinner ready, I'm tired from my flight" with a nod and a hug from her brother she goes back to the guest room for some much needed rest.

Waking up from her nap feeling refreshed and no longer drowsy. Solea instantly smelled the aroma of the house, the sound of pans moving around and grease sizzling helped her get up and get in the shower to freshen up.
After her shower and putting on some comfortable sweats and a old t-shirt she got from Barcelona she headed down the steps.

Hearing Jill Scot's song "Fools gold" playing all around the house with the mixed smells of cornbread, fried chicken and collard greens she couldn't help but smile with her hands on her stomach,knowing she was gonna eat good tonight.
Rounding the corner with a loud "heyy bitch" and scream.
Nova instantly put down her golden cornbread that she just got out the oven and headed over to Solea with the same energy. "Heyy boo omg I'm so glad your here."
The two girls screamed and hug as if they haven't seen eachother in five years instead of two. You would think they was on the verge of tears by how tight they were screaming from excitement.
Standing on the side watching the two girls fan girl over how much each others grown and their physical features, Rashad shook his head already knowing they both was gonna be a force to be reckoned with.
While continuing her cooking, nova and Solea caught up on what's been happening in each others life that they couldn't express over FaceTime or text message since she been away.
Once the food was done everybody gathered to the table with their own portions of food.
"So how's the dating life been ? Have you been dating?" Nova glances over at Solea with a smile.
"Actually.... no i haven't i been busy girl, just trying to up my brand" she shakes her head
With a knowing look nova was ready to say what she's been thinking since Solea showed up."Well you know Sante' suppose to be coming down soon."
Looking up once hearing Sante' name Solea starts to fidget with her fork and move around in her seat a little. Suddenly getting hot and have to drink some of her water that nova gave everyone before dinner.
"Really? I didn't even know, rashad didn't bring that up." She says trying to sound convincing that hearing his name didn't send something through her body. But knowing her bestie like the back of her hand nova knew, it was Rashad that was oblivious to it all.
With a roll of her eyes Nova looked at her husband and nudged his shoulder to engage in the conversation, since he was too busy tearing up his fried chicken wings to hear.
"Yea sis he suppose to be coming down this week, he actually moved to the DR four months after you left but he come down to visit from time to time" Rashad voices while stuffing his face with more greens. Unaware of his sis going through the motions of just hearing his bestfriends name and his wife giving her a smirk.
With a sigh Solea finally speaks up "Wow that's good for him im happy he got out of Houston too" with a slight smile, not quit reaching her eyes.
Looking up at Nova she knows this is not the end of this conversation, so while Rashad got up to wash everybody's plates she whispers to her.
"I told you what happpened before i left it's nothing more i have to say to him" with a shake of her head in a stubborn tone.
"Yea yeaa but you don't know who that girl was, i honestly don't think he even had a girl at the time and he definitely doesn't have one now." Nova informs her with a knowing look.
"He doesn't?" Solea questions, slightly interested on what was going to be her response.
"Girl hell no, they be on the phone all the time and he don't bring up no hoe that's worth bringing to the forefront" Nova proudly states to her sis.
Nova didn't want Solea to think she couldn't get with Sante if she wanted, she was a beautiful girl she was just reserved and shy at first when it came to her emotions.
"Mmmm we'll see" Solea reluctantly shoots back.
After cleaning up and winding down everybody said there goodnights and headed to bed.
As Solea slipped into her queen sized guest bed, black soft Cotten sheets tucked from end to end, and air blowing the last thing she could think of was how Sante' would react after seeing her since they last saw eachother.
