HE HAD BEEN SIX WHEN HE HAD BEEN BRAINWASHED.
He didn't remember what happened.
He remembered screaming, and then...nothing. Blank. The fact he couldn't remember scared him.
He sat in the corner of his cell, head against his knees, rocking back and forth. He hated HYDRA. This didn't feel like home.
He couldn't remember home; he only remembered flashes of light, laughter, and cries of happiness. He could remember sunsets and stars, but only barely. He could remember a song that had fallen from a man's lips—his papa?
"Brilla brilla la stellina
Su nel cielo piccolina
Brilla brilla sopra noi,
Mi domando di chi sei..."
He hummed it to himself quietly. If the scientist heard it, or anyone else...
He wasn't sure what would happen.
"Brilla brilla la stellina..." he sang quietly. His heart pounded, and he wasn't sure what he was feeling. Happiness? Love?
He had never felt love before.
"Su nel cielo piccolina..."
He could hear the click-clack of shoes walking down the hall. He shut his eyes, trying to drown it out.
"Brilla brilla sopra noi..."
The footsteps came closer and the boy clamped his hands over his ears.
"Mi domando di chi sei..."
The cell door opened.
"Winter Spider, follow me."
The boy didn't remember anything after that.

Yeah these chapters are going to be pretty short...but I update fast so I guess that makes up for it??
EDIT: Okay so I just added "Assassin In HYDRA" the prequel onto my profile. Check that out! I'll be updating that alongside this, but if I find that it's getting hard to juggle both of the books, I'll come back here to finish this since this is my main priority right now. <3
