Mrs. Lee was in shock.
"I came here to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage," Y/n coldly told her.
It sounded more like a demand than a request.
- Y/N POV -
I could see Mrs. Lee thinking about my offer.
Me marrying Hyein would solve all her problems.
"You have mere hours left to live. I will take care of her and the company. I have the money, the connections, and I will make a family with Hyein if you allow me," I tried to convince her.
Mrs. Lee didn't care about anything else but money.
The only way to convince her to let me marry her daughter was to tell her about all the things I could do for her.
"None of that matters," Mrs. Coldly responded.
"What?!" Hyein suddenly exclaimed.
"That is the literal reason that you made me break up with Y/n in the first place!!!" She yelled at her mother.
I took a deep breath and gave Lee Daepyonim a death stare.
"Sorry," Hyein mumbled out.
"You allow me to marry her and your legacy, the company you built, your bloodline, live on. You die as successful chaebol. You decline my offer and you die a failure," I coldly negotiated.
Mrs. Lee looked at me coldly.
*COUGH, COUGH*
"Mom!" Hyein exclaimed, running up to make sure her mom was okay.
Mrs. Lee was weaker than anyone had ever seen.
In the last 5 years, she had done nothing but be as strong as she could.
I was very commendable...
But her body could only take so much.
"You ta-take care of h-her!" Mrs. Lee cough through her words.
"You keep me alive until the wedding and the full recovery of my company. I- I want to see my le-legacy. You understand!" Mrs. Lee kept trying to be strong.
"Understood," I coldly responded.
My guards suddenly marched into Mrs. Lee hospital room and started to grab her things, preparing to transport her.
"What's going on?" Hyein asked me.
"It's a set up!" Mrs. Lee exclaimed.
"You're being transported to another hospital to ensure you are given the best medical care," My assistant coldly told her.
Mrs. Lee just looked at me for a second before nodding in agreement.
I turned to look at Hyein and coldly said, "Meet me in your office in 2 hours", before marching my way out of the hospital.
- Hyein POV -
I felt slightly offended by Y/n's behavior.
Y/n was acting as if I was a proposal to get mom to ask them for help with the company.
"Thank you for doing this," Mom said as she squeezed my hand.
Y/n's team was transporting mom to the Kim's Hospital and Research Center. One of the top hospital for cancer treatment and experimental cures.
"Mom, I've loved Y/n this whole time. I am not doing this for you," I coldly responded to her.
I had always been as obedient as I could.
I always did as mother asked and did my best to respect her.
It felt like it was finally time to stand up for myself.
"Be careful, I can see how much Y/n-ssi has changed. That young, ambitious, cold look in their eyes. Power can make people do crazy things. Don't let your guard down, Y/n could be using you for vengeance," Mom tried to advise.
I wasn't going to let mom get in my head.
"You're using me too," I coldly told her.
"You've hated Y/n this whole time. The second they show up with the power and money to save your precious company.... you give me away as if you're selling me off to get what you want," I angrily stated.
"It's to save our livelihood! I'm doing this for you. So I can ensure I die and leave you behind with a good life! Mom yelled at me.
*COUGH, COUGH*
I sighed, watching mom try to catch her breath.
"The lady is on her deathbed and I'm bringing a brat," I thought to myself, disappointed in myself.
"You're right, thank you," I kissed Mom's hand in gratitude.
It didn't take much longer before we arrived at the Kim's Hospital.
Y/n's team set Mom up in their best room and gave me a run down of what kind of care mom would be given.
While the previous hospital was acting like more of a hospice, The Kim's hospital was going to start fresh with exams and possibly treatments.
Apparently Y/n had entrusted the hospital chief to do everything they could to help my mom live for as long as possible.
"Ms. Lee, you have a meeting with Sajangnim soon," Y/n's assistant suddenly stepped up to remind me.
"Right," I sighed out.
I wasn't sure how I felt about everything that was going on, none of it seemed genuine.
"Go. I'll be alright," Mom patted my arm.
"Okay, love you," I told her before following Y/n's assistant out of the hospital.
I got in the backseat of the Rolls Royce and did my best to maintain low expectations towards me and Y/n's meeting.
"Wardrobe change?" The assistant asked.
"Sure," I lowly responded.
- Y/N POV -
I was nervous as hell.
I was pacing back and forth in Hyein's office, trying to figure out where I should place my bouquet of roses.
I was starting to sweat as I waited impatiently.
"Maybe I should do it in the conference room, since that's where we first met!" I mumbled to myself.
"No, that's cheesy!" I told myself.
*DING*
My phone suddenly went off.
It was a text from my assistant.
"She's coming up," it read.
I started to hyperventilate, panicking at the thought of what I was about to do.
"Be cool, be cool!" I told myself, taking a deep breath.
Soon enough, Hyein walked into her office.
"She looks gorgeous," I thought to myself as my heartbeat began to race.
- Hyein POV -
I walked into my office a bit confused on where Y/n-ssi was.
"Hello, Miss Louis Vuitton," A cold husky voice suddenly said.
It was Y/n, leaning against my desk.
My heart dropped when I saw Y/n holding a huge bouquet of red roses and a small box in their hands.
"You didn't think that was my official engagement proposal, did you?" Y/n smugly asked, walking up to hand me the roses.
"So what if I did?" I smirked, taking the rose bouquet in my hands.
"Then you clearly don't know me," Y/n smirked back, slowly getting down on one new.
Y/n then opened up the box in their hands, revealing a massive Cartier ring.
"Will you-" Y/n started to ask me the question I had been waiting to be asked all my life.
"Oh my god, YES!" I interrupted, way too excited.
"Let me finish," Y/n chuckled.
"Okay, okay!!!" I giggled out, trying to be patient.
"Will you m-"
"YESS!" I interrupted again.
"Deapyonim!" Y/n whined out, like they always did when they were getting upset with me.
"Oookkayy!!" I whined out myself.
"Lee Hyein-ssi, will you please marry me?" Y/n finally managed to get all the words out.
"YESSS!!!" I squeal out, pulling Y/n up into a kiss.
My whole heart sighed out in relief once our lips touched.
Mom had tried to get in my head but deep down I knew that Y/n was still the same at their core.
"This is huge. You shouldn't have!" I looked at the ring Y/n had bought for me.
"Only the best for my girl," Y/n responded.
I felt really excited and nervous as Y/n tried to put the ring on my finger.
"Wait, this is too much. Go get a new one!" I snatched the ring box from Y/n hand.
"Hyein!!" Y/n complained.
I took a seat on the sofa in my office and excitedly stared at the ring.
A part of me had forgotten who Y/n had become for a second....
To me Y/n was still the person I fell in love with.
That broke college kid who barely had money to even get to the board meeting we first met at.
"Do you not like it?" Y/n suddenly took me out of my thoughts.
"I love it," I sniffled out.
Y/n sighed, as if relieved, and smiled widely.
"Can I put it on you?" Y/n cutely asked.
I took a deep breath and shyly nodded.
Y/n stepped up and slowly got on one knee, grabbing the ring from its box and taking my hand in theirs.
Suddenly, my heart fluttered when I noticed Y/n was wearing the watch I had gifted them on their graduation day.
"You're wearing your watch," I shyly whispered.
"Of course, it came from you," Y/n smiled at me, looking me in the eyes as they slid the ring into my ring finger.
I couldn't hold my tears of joy anymore and started to cry.
"I love you so much!" I cried out as I pulled Y/n into a kiss.
Y/n kissed back tenderly and with care.
"I'm happy to finally have you back," Y/n whispered against my lips.
The kiss deepened and I suddenly found myself being picked up.
I wrapped my legs around Y/n's waist and kissed them as if we had never kissed before.
All this time, craving, wishing, and daydreaming about my lips on Y/n's... and now.... I finally had what I wanted.
All of it.
"I love you," Y/n moaned against my lips.
Kisses started to trail down my neck and I found myself being laid down on the sofa.
"I can't wait for us to get married," I thought to myself as Y/n showered me with kiss.
"I love you," ..... "I love you too".
