Alyssa led Adalynn in and turned around to close the door. She let out a gasp of surprise as the lights turned on out of nowhere. Alyssa turned around seeing her mother and father, Amy and Christopher standing in front of her.
She watched as her mother's eyes teared up before her mother ran towards her and threw her arms around her. "My sweet child, your home! Please forgive us, we wanted a baby for so long we didn’t care what happened." Amy said as she sobbed.
Alyssa froze before hugging her mother back. It wasn’t like she wasn’t glad to see her mother but her mother is the reason Alyssa is in this mess, Alyssa gently pushed her mother back before turning to her father who had welling up tears in his eyes but not letting them fall.
"Hey dad." Alyssa said as she watched as her father walked over to her and hugged her before pulling back, wiping his tears away, he cleared his throat.
"Lyss, how are you here? Does he know you're here? Who is this lady you brought with you?"
Her dad asked her.
Alyssa shook her head.
"No Eli-" she cut herself remembering her parents didn’t know Elijah by his real name.
"One question at a time dad, no Lucifer doesn't know I'm here."
she pointed to Adalynn before continuing. "All you need to know is that her name is Adalynn and she helped me escape hell, now we don't have long to chitty-chat. I'm sure by now Lucifer has noticed I'm gone, where is my car? If I wanna escape him for good, I need to go on the run until he decides to give up." Alyssa explained.
Amy frowned and teared up looking at her daughter. "Lyss. There is no way you can out run him, he is the devil. He didn't get that title just because he could."
Alyssa sighed before opening her mouth to speak. "Mom, I know how he is. In case you forgot I've been with him for two months! He may not have hit me or worse but I'm not stupid, I know he's a ruthless asshole." She snapped at her mother, noting paying attention to her mother’s tears before looking at her father.
"Now where is my car? We have wasted enough time talking."
Christopher sighed before walking into the kitchen. She heard him pick up what sounded like keys before coming back to where she stood in the hallway. "No matter how much I dislike your mother she is also right but I believe you know what you are doing. Your jeep is in the garage, we didn't want to get rid of the only thing we had left of you." her dad explained.
Alyssa grabbed the keys from her fathers hand and motioned Adalynn to follow her before looking at her father and mother. "Your guy’s selfish reasons to have me is the reason why I am running from him. I understand why you did what you did but thanks to you guys, I'm now bound to him for God knows how long, maybe forever. So sorry but I cannot and will not forgive you guys." Alyssa said before she walked to the garage hearing her mother start to sob behind her.
Alyssa got in the jeep and started it as Adalynn got in the passenger seat, Alyssa pressed the button for the garage watching as the door to the garage slowly started to go up. Alyssa put the jeep in drive and began to drive away from her parents house.
Alyssa and Adalynn had been driving for three hours. Adalynn turned to Alyssa before speaking in a soft sympathetic voice.
“Don't you think you were a little hard on them? From what you told me it wasn’t easy for them to give you, think about how they feel.” Adalynn looked at her as she said the words.
Alyssa gripped the steering wheel in her hands as she felt anger flow in her veins, she looked over at Adalynn with anger in her eyes.“Think about how they feel?! Are you fucking kidding me right now?! What about me?! I was forced to leave everything and everyone I love and yet they got to live on earth like nothing ever happened!”
Alyssa shouted as she started crying. Adalynn stared at her in shock as she watched each tear roll down her face.
“Well let's talk about how you're feeling then.” Adalynn said calmly,
Alyssa stared at the road ahead of her for a few minutes. "Shouldn't you know how I am feeling? you are the witch after all, I'll tell how I'm feeling, I'm pissed at both my parents and Elijah. I'm pissed at my parents for selfishly thinking they could keep this from me, like they couldn't just say 'oh yeah. On your eighteenth birthday the devil is gonna come and steal you away, but hey it's no big deal.’ I'm also pissed off at Elijah for actually going through with it, why couldn't he just pick another girl?!" Alyssa screamed while gripping the steering wheel as she teared up.
Adalynn stared at Alyssa for a second before speaking. "I don't know why you think just because I'm a witch that that means I have all the answers, I'm no crystal ball, even those things get stuff wrong." Adalynn said.
Alyssa was quiet for some time and Adalynn took this time to climb into Alyssa's mind.
~I don't know where we are gonna stay, hell I don't even know if I can trust Adalynn. She looks and sounds just like Josie. Could she be Josie? No, she promised she wasn't. But what if she was lying? You know what I just gotta take a chance, she's the first kind of friend i had made in hell and she's risking a lot to help me, god knows what Elijah will do to her once he finds out she helped me~
Adalynn rolled her eyes as she heard the thoughts coming from Alyssa, she closed her eyes and pushed the thought ~we should go to the Creekside motel~ in Alyssa's mind, Adalynn backed out of Alyssa's mind.
A few hours later and the sun was starting to set, Alyssa had pulled up to the motel. They got out of the car and walked in. It felt like no time at all that they had a room with two beds. It was now night time and the girls were tired, Adalynn had to use her magic to control the desk clerks mind and she was tired but knew she had to keep Alyssa safe.
Alyssa came out of the bathroom to see Adalynn placing small stones and crystals near the window and in front of the door. Alyssa raised her eyebrow.
"What in the world are you doing?" Alyssa questioned Adalynn. Adalynn looked up from what she was doing to look at Alyssa before she went back to placing the stones and crystals near the window.
"I'm placing runes and crystals in the window so Elijah can't trace you and these crystals-” Adalynn paused before holding up a medium sized piece of black tourmaline.
“And this is just for extra protection.” Adalynn said before turning away continuing what she was doing. Alyssa gave her a grateful smile watching as she finished placing the last set of crystals by the windows before grabbing a marker.
Adalynn walked over to Alyssa. "Okay, now I need to draw on you. It's a protective sigil, I can also make you a protective necklace but that one will take time as I don't have the stuff I need to make it with, since we left hell so quickly." Adalynn said before grabbing Alyssa's arm and began to draw the protective sigil on Alyssa’s wrist.
Adalynn placed the marker back on the desk before closing her eyes and started mumbling to herself as the mark she drew on Alyssa began to glow, the words coming out of her mouth was coming out too fast for Alyssa to understand. Alyssa watched as she opened her eyes, looking at her as Adalynn blew out a deep breath
"Okay, that should keep you safe from Elijah." Adalynn said as Alyssa nodded letting out a yawn and took off her shoes placing them by the bed before climbing into bed, she watched as Adalynn climbed into the other bed and shut off the lamp, slowly drifting off to sleep.
Alyssa looked around her, seeing nothing but pitch black with the moon shining high in the sky telling her she was in the forest. She jumped as she heard a laugh.
"You silly little girl, you actually thought that I would let you leave? Ready or not, here I come."
Elijah said from behind her, she started running, unsure where she was going but she didn't care. All she knew was she had to get away, she unexpectedly tripped over something as she ran, she looked back as she heard Elijah's footsteps, crawling backwards as he slowly started to walk towards her.
"Just like I told you the first time, I'll drag you back kicking and screaming.” He said.
Alyssa let out a scream as she jerked awake sitting up quickly as her fingers worked rapidly to turn on the light, she ran her fingers in her knotty hair nervously as her eyes scanned the room. She let out a gasp.
The air around her felt thicker than usual, feeling like it was hard to breathe. Alyssa dropped her head into her hands as she felt her heart beat fast like she was running away from something or someone. Her body started to shake like it was going into shock. Her panicky eyes went to the bathroom door as Adalynn ran out of the bathroom. Adalynn's eyes looked around the room in fright before locking her eyes on Alyssa’s. Alyssa could feel her body relax at the sight of Adalynn. Adalynn walked over to Alyssa and sat down pulling Alyssa into a hug as she started to sob.
Alyssa pulled away from her, wiping her tears. "Sorry…I had a bad dream.” She said, taking in a deep breath before continuing. “Now what's the plan for today?"
Adalynn sighed. "First, we are gonna go eat in the diner next door. cause I'm not sure about you but I'm hungry then we are gonna go to the mall cause we both have been in these clothes for about two days and we need new clothes, we also need to cut and dye your hair and get contacts for your eyes." Adalynn said. Alyssa nodded yawning before she got up putting on her shoes, walking towards the door. "I don't understand why we need to change my hairstyle and color and my eye color, won't Elijah recognize me if he looks at my face, if he ever comes to find me?" Alyssa questioned.
Adalynn smiled a cheerful smile. "Let's stay hopeful that that won't happen, okay? Besides you got a witch on your side, you're a badass bitch!" Adalynn said cheerfully. Alyssa laughed softly as she did one last wipe under her eyes to wipe the rest of her tears.
"Bad bitch? No, a doomed bitch? Hell yes. Now let's go." Alyssa said before opening the door and walking out.
