"Come on, I feel like I'm the only one eating here. Try some of that. Have some eggs."
Cecelia was staring at Bruce Banner, who was now big, and green. She was shocked. 5 years ago he was normal sized and in a big body of armor.
In front of him was portions of eggs, bacon sausage, pancakes, any kind of breakfast you could think of times 2.
Everyone was confused, how had he done that? Put all of his brawn and all of his brain into one person. How can that work? They all wanted to ask, but refrained, we'll everyone but Scott. He didn't filter his thought.
"I'm so confused." Scott said, his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes staring confused.
"These are confusing times." Bruce laughed out as Cecelia looked over at Natasha. Her eyes were confused, and she almost looked like a deer in headlights.
"No, no that's not what I meant..." Scott trailed off, shaking his head.
"Nah, I get it. I'm kidding! I know, it's crazy. I'm wearing shirts now." Bruce said, Cecelia scratched her eyebrow as she bounced her knee up and down. She was stressed. She didn't quite know why, she just was.
"Yeah. What? How? Why?" Scott asked, Bruce started to eat some big cinnamon rolls as Scott asked his questions.
"Five years ago, we got out asses beat. Except it was worse for me...'cause I lost twice. First, Hulk lost, then Banner lost...and then we all lost." Bruce listed as Steve looked at Cecelia and her anxious state. He put his hand on her knee cap to stop it from bouncing. It slowed, and his hand rested there.
"No one blamed you, Bruce." Natasha said, looking up at him.
"I did." Bruce said, Natasha looked down. Bruce put a grin back onto his face as he spoke.
"For years, I've been treating the Hulk like he's some kind of disease...something to get rid of. But then, I started looking at him as the cure. Eighteen months in the gamma lab. I put the brains and the brawn together...and now, look at me. Best of both worlds." Bruce said, his hands coming out at his sides. 3 kids walked up to Bruce with nervous expressions and smiles.
Cecelia looked over to see them. They weren't much older or younger than Cecelia was. Cecelia looked at Natasha who was staring at her hands that rested in her lap.
"Excuse me, Mr. Hulk?" The girl asked, Natasha looked at the girl who was nervously speaking. She didn't remind her of Cecelia, not at all. No kid reminded her of Cecelia. This girl was nervous, but not Cecelia's nervous.
There was the excitement nervous. When you're jittery and excited for something. Like when you see your favorite celebrity, and you want a picture. But your nervous of what they'll think of you.
Then there was your anxious nervousness. Like something was blind to jump at you at any given moment.
"Can we get a photo?" She asked, her phone in her hand. She held it toward him, hoping he'd say yes.
"100%, little person." Bruce said, taking her phone. "Come on, step on up. Do you mind?" Bruce asked Scott, handing the phone to him.
"Oh, yeah, yeah." Scott said, taking the phone.
"Say "green." Bruce said as Scott took the pictures. Cecelia looked over at Steve as he traced small circles onto her knee with his thumb. Natasha was across from them sitting next to Scott, she gave a reassuring smile to Cecelia. She took a deep breath as she watched Scott take the picture.
"Green." They all said with smiles on their faces.
To say Cecelia was jealous was an understatement. She didn't get to have that when she was a kid. She didn't have the glory of smiling and taking pictures with heroes, and she still didn't to this day. She was a hero, except she still never felt like one.
"Did you get that?" Bruce asked, Scott handed them the phone with a nod.
"Did you want to grab one with me? I'm Ant-Man." Scott said, the three kids looked confused. "They're Hulk fans. They don't know Ant-Man. Nobody does." Scott said as Bruce tried to get them to take a picture with Scott.
"No, he wants you to take a picture with him." Bruce said, pointing at Scott with his big finger.
"I don't want a picture." Scott said stubbornly.
"Stranger danger." The boy said, shaking his head. Cecelia felt so awkward, and almost embarrassed. She had nothing to do with the situation.
"Yeah, look, he's even saying no, he doesn't. I get it. I don't want it, either." Scott said, putting his hand out.
"But come on. The kid..."
"I don't want a picture with them." Scott finalized, Cecelia looked at Natasha who was shaking her head. Her eyes were rolling in annoyance. They were wasting time.
They argued for about a minute as Scott tried to give them the phone. "Take the god damn phone." He said, Cecelia grabbed her glass of water and took a sip, hiding her smirk in the cup. She knew she shouldn't of had found it humorous, but she doesn't get a whole lot of humor with the life she lives.
"Thanks Mr. Hulk."
"Hulk out!" They all said, Hulk posed for them, dabbing, and then pointing. "Listen to your mom. She knows better." He said as Steve tried to put it to an end. He was happy for Bruce, he really was, but the more time they wasted, the more off track they'd be.
"Bruce. About what we were saying." Steve said as Bruce turned back to them.
"Right. The whole time travel do-over? Eh, guys, it's outside of my area of expertise." He said, Cecelia leaned her head back. She swallowed back her tears. Steve gave her knee a squeeze as she stared at the ceiling.

"Well, you pulled this off. I remember a time when that seemed pretty impossible, too." Natasha said, a small shrug as well.
"Please, Mr. Banner. I lost someone important, we all did. We've got a chance to bring them back..." Cecelia trailed off, Bruce nodded his head seeing the expression, and her eyes. They were glossy, and they saddened him.
"Time travel it is."
