•(Y/N) (L/N)•

After finally getting down from the building, with Mr. Aizawa allowed Hawks to fly me down under strict supervision, we began walking back to the school...awkwardly.

Now if it was just Mr. Aizawa and I or just Hawks and I, it probably wouldn't have been so awkward. However, with the extreme difference between the two heroes walking with me it was silent.

Hawks and Mr. Aizawa were complete opposites.

Hawks was popular, being the number three hero, and he had an impressive quirk. Now I'm not sure if Mr. Aizawa knew, but Hawks is pretty laid back.

On the other hand, Mr. Aizawa wasn't even ranked, he chose the underground hero life. He didn't have an impressive quirk on the surface. I knew him to be very hard working.

So...what do they have in common if even their occupation were pretty much opposites?

Apparently...me.

About thirty minutes into the walk is when Hawks, apparently, grew tired of the silence. It started with his feathers brushing against my shoulder nudging me slightly. As if we were in class trying to avoid being caught by a teacher, in this case Mr. Aizawa.

I couldn't help but feel laughter well up in my chest. I pursed my lips to try and prevent myself from laughing and getting caught, even if it wouldn't really get me in trouble.

"Stop bothering my student," Mr. Aizawa huffed.

"She's not in school, Eraser, relax," Hawks said, his arms going up to rest his hands on the back of his head.

"Don't you have work to do instead of wasting your time here?" Mr. Aizawa asked.

Ok. Ouch. Wasting time?

"I have the day off, so why not spend it with my first fan?" Hawks asked, ruffling my hair.

Mr. Aizawa's eyes narrowed at Hawks before falling quiet again.

"Oh, I forgot. The UA sports festival is coming up, no?" Hawks asked me.

"Mhm, it's in a couple weeks," I replied.

"And then there are internships, no? How would you like to come to my agency?" Hawks asked.

"Wh-what?" I stuttered.

"My agency in Kyushu," Hawks chuckled.

"Do you even know what her quirk is?" Mr. Aizawa scoffed.

"Of course I do," Hawks replied.

The two continued to go back and forth in their veiled insults and petty arguments. I felt very awkward standing between the two bickering adults.

I mean Hawks is twenty and Mr. Aizawa is thirty.

How is a fifteen year old being more mature than both of them?

Eventually silence fell between the two and Hawks turned to me. We began to talk a bit and I explained a little bit about USJ and what happened.

Once we finally got to the school we walked through the gate, which was already fixed, and through the mostly empty school.

As we got to the hallway where the principal's office resided I felt my nerves begin to pick up. My heart began to race and I felt as if sweat was pouring out of all my pores.

Principal Nezu.

How is this going to end?

Mr. Aizawa knocked on the door and Principal Nezu called for us to enter. When he saw Hawks his eyes widened in surprise.

"Hello Mr. Hawks, I must say I'm quite surprised to see you here," Principal Nezu smiled.

"Well I found out my favorite little fan got herself in trouble and I had to check up on her," Hawks said, putting his arm on my head and using me as an armrest.

"I see. You seem to know quite a few people, Miss (L/N)," Principal Nezu smiled.

Despite the smile he had on his face I could tell by his pointed tone that he was quite suspicious.

To be fair he had a fair reason to be suspicious.

"It seems so, sir," I smiled nervously.

"Now, I understand both of your concerns for the young lady, and I find no reason to kick anyone out, however I do ask that you do not interrupt our discussion without reason," Principal Nezu said firmly.

The pointed look he gave was quick to make the two heroes agree.

Principal Nezu then turned his pointed gaze towards me. The smile did little to prevent how intimidating the usually cute creature was.

"Now, I'm told that the main villain from the attack seemed...attached to you. Do you know why that is?" Principal Nezu asked.

"I...yeah, I do. I've met Shigaraki twice before," I said.

"Twice?" Principal Nezu asked.

"Both times were accidental, I swear. I...when I was about five I was going to a nearby grocery store to buy some snacks. It was raining that day so I was trying to hurry. I saw this kid sitting, huddled, into an alleyway wall. He was shivering and...well I felt awful," I explained.

"So you went to help," Principal Nezu said.

I nodded in response.

"I walked over and offered my umbrella to him. He took it, but it turned to dust. I noticed that anytime he touched something with five fingers it turned to dust. So I ran into the store and grabbed another umbrella and some gloves. I cut two fingers off the gloves and went back to Shigaraki," I explained.

"And?" Principal Nezu asked.

"It worked. He grabbed the umbrella and it didn't disintegrate. I told him to stay still while I went to get my dad. When we got back he was gone. I didn't even know his name," I replied.

"And the second time?" Principal Nezu.

"The day before the attack," Hawks realized.

"What?" Mr. Aizawa asked, glaring over at Hawks.

"I...when everyone was evacuating it was chaos. People were getting shoved and trampled and accidentally hurt. Hawks pulled me into the nearest empty hallway. It shocked me, but I was thankful," I said.

"Hawks?" Principal Nezu asked.

"That feather necklace you had, right?" Mr. Aizawa asked.

I nodded and Hawks puffed up his chest in silent pride.

"Anyway, I saw a boy exit a door up ahead. I thought he was a third year student who managed to escape the chaos. I went to greet him when he turned and pinned me into the wall. I didn't really recognize him at first, it had been so long, and before he or I could say anything Hawks' feather began to attack Shigaraki," I said.

Principal Nezu and Mr. Aizawa turned to look at Hawks for an explanation.

"I was already attuned to the feather. With it being the only one I've ever given out it was easy to notice what was happening, especially since I was on break at the time. So when my little fan's breathing changed I was quite sure she was in danger. So I stabbed his hand," Hawks shrugged.

"He turned Hawks' feather to dust after ripping the necklace off. I was scared that if I tried to call for help or attack him or even if I moved he would've turned me to dust. Obviously it was a simple matter to him," I said.

"But he didn't," Principal Nezu hummed.

"No. He...he kept asking for my name. He was sure I recognized him, and I did. I tried to act clueless, hoping that if he thought I didn't know he'd waste time trying to explain himself, giving me more time to figure a way out. But, he figured me out pretty quick," I said.

"Then what happened?" Principal Nezu asked.

"He reached out for me, so I put up a shield instinctually. He began trying to break the shield. Putting his hand against the shield before retracting his hand and trying again. It was working. He almost broke my shield," I said.

"But?" Principal Nezu asked.

"That portal villain showed up and said they had to go. I wanted to tell you, I really did, but-" I began.

"They threatened your family, didn't they?" Principal Nezu asked.

I nodded and hung my head in shame.

"I thought I'd have time. My dad was in another district, so I didn't have to worry about him, but my mom was at home for the night. She left mid afternoon, so I thought I'd be able to make it after the USJ training to tell you," I semi-lied.

My parents truly were where I said they were, but I knew I wasn't going to be able to warn Principal Nezu in time. Plus, the outcome of the attack was far better than in the anime. Who knows what would've happened if I had warned the school. They could've done something far more drastic knowing Shigaraki's childlike personality and murderous tendencies.

I couldn't risk it.

"I see. Telling us would've been the best plan, but I suppose you were filled with fear induced adrenaline. I can't expect a first year student to know how to handle such a situation," Principal Nezu said, closing his eyes in thought.

He then opened his eyes and gave a smile. His eyes had softened to show sympathy and understanding. There was a hint of intrigue that appeared as our eyes met.

He seemed to believe my story, at least most of it.

"We'll have some extra heroes patrol your neighborhood just in case Shigaraki or any villains appear. Has Shigaraki ever said anything strange to you either during the attack or during your run-in before?" Principal Nezu asked.

"Strange?" I asked.

I thought back to our conversions and furrowed my brows in thought.

...

"No, that look...you do remember. They've just poisoned your mind."

...

"Irritating. Heroes truly have meddled with that mind of yours. You used to be so...perfect. You were meant to be on my side, not theirs..."

...

"Yeah, he's said a couple things actually. Mentioned that heroes have 'poisoned' my mind and a couple other things," I hummed.

"It's possible you accidentally made a deep connection with Shigaraki, one he obviously hasn't forgotten," Principal Nezu said.

"You're not insinuating that she's working with the villain are you?" Hawks asked, his tone defensive and his eyes narrowed.

I'll be honest, his protectiveness was touching and surprising. We hadn't exactly talked often and we barely knew each other.

But, it was appreciated.

"Of course not. I only meant that Miss (L/N) might've been very young, but he was older. His memories of that time are much clearer than what yours would've been," Principal Nezu said.

Not really, I was mentally a teenager and I remember it very clearly.

"You should know, (L/N), that to mentally unstable individuals anything can spark a connection. Whether that connection is deep hatred or deep care depends on the person," Principal Nezu said.

That statement made me shudder.

"But it's possible that seeing you simply caught Shigaraki off guard to see someone familiar. I'm sure that it'll pass," Principal Nezu smiled.

"Right," I said, sighing in relief.

He's the smartest person in this world, so what he's saying must be true...right? It's a temporary interest.

Just temporary.

"Now, I should let you go. You must be exhausted from this serious conversation. I'm sure Hawks would be more than willing to escort you home," Principal Nezu smiled.

"Sure, maybe we'll go out for some ice cream to catch up," Hawks smiled, resting his hand on my head.

I smiled up at the pro and he winked down at me.

"Aizawa, we have some other matters to discuss, so if you could stay," Principal Nezu said.

Mr. Aizawa looked over to Hawks and I in hesitation. I gave him a comfortable smile and he sighed in defeat. He nodded to Principal Nezu who hummed in approval.

"Well then, until we meet again, Miss (L/N). Try not to let it happen too soon," he said.

As our eyes met I could tell the playful sentence was more serious than his tone suggested. He wasn't threatening me, but it was clear he was hoping that no more trouble would happen anytime soon.

"I apologize for any trouble I've caused," I bowed my head.

An apology for the future trouble I was sure to bring.

"No need. You're a student of the school, and it's my duty to make sure you're all safe," Principal Nezu replied.

An acceptance of the apology.

As Hawks led me out of the room I couldn't help but smile fondly. Principal Nezu definitely knew I wasn't telling the entire truth, but he also knew I didn't mean any trouble for the school. At least I hope he knew.

There was a silent understanding that we both knew the hidden messages in our words and gazes.

And if I was honest it was quite fun to talk with the principal.

Until we meet again.

•Shouta Aizawa•

I watched as Hawks and (L/N) left the room and heard as Hawks began to chat with my student cheerfully.

"You look concerned, Aizawa," Principal Nezu said, drawing my attention.

"She was badly injured in my place. I can't not be worried," I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

Principal Nezu chuckled as he made us some tea. He put a cup in front of me and smiled.

"Luckily none of the injuries are permanent, yes? She'll be able to heal quickly," Principal Nezu said.

"It doesn't make it better," I replied, taking the cup.

"What are your thoughts on Shigaraki's attitude towards Miss (L/N)?" Principal Nezu asked.

"He seemed genuinely...excited to see her. There was this spark in his eyes. You don't think she was involved in planning the attack, do you?" I asked.

"No. She looked genuinely relieved when I told her Shigaraki's interest would be temporary. Not with how fiercely she protected those around her, I have no doubt on where her loyalties lie," Principal Nezu said.

"But?" I asked.

"I'm not sure how true my statement was," he said, a frown etching itself on his face.

"Your statement, sir?" I asked.

"I'm afraid Shigaraki could be more intrigued by our young student than we might think," Principal Nezu said.

Concern spiked through my system.

"I didn't want to overwhelm her with what's happened nor did I want to scare her, she's only a child. In truth, she might be in more danger than we all realize. Only time will tell," Principal Nezu said, looking at the tea in his cup.

(Y/N): *Enters the principal's office a couple weeks later after internships*

Principal Nezu: Miss (L/N), please have a seat. How have you been? (Translation: Why the fuck are you in my office again already?)

(Y/N): I've been alright sir. I must say I find your office quite calming and cozy. (Translation: Get used to it. I'm gonna be here a lot.)

...

Well, well, well we finally got an Aizawa POV!

Well, what do you think of the little interrogation? And who's excited for ice cream?! Tell me what flavor (Y/N) should get in the comments!

Now, I'd like to apologize again for not posting last week. To give a bit more context I just traveled to visit my grandpa and help him with an auction he held yesterday. I was busy helping him move things, since he can't due to cancer.

So thank you for being so considerate in the comments and for the early birthday wishes. It's why I definitely wanted to post a chapter as a reverse birthday present, since you were all so amazing and kind.

So happy unbirthday! Lmao.

Anyway, I should be back to my normal schedule since I'm traveling back home tomorrow. I'll try to keep you updated on anything else that might affect future posts.

ANYWAY!!

Tell me what you think about this chapter, I always love hearing what you all think.

Till next time: stay safe, don't forget to take care of yourself, and have an amazing day/night! 🤍
