Wednesday.
While the kids had school, Camilla decided to snag Eda for a bit and take her to the store. "You brought me here to pay for everything, didn't you?" Eda set the last item on the fluffy conveyor belt, moving the cart forward.
"Noo~" Camilla giggled. "Just a few things for dinner. Lilith is coming over again, and the kids want their favorite to be waiting."
Eda ruffled Camilla's fur, sighing, "You're so lucky you're cute Cam." Eda pinched the tip of her beak and lightly tugged.
From griffin to a type of avian, Eda's muzzle opened as she yawned. Camilla blinked, poking Eda's tooth before flinching when Eda snapped her muzzle shut. "Oh you--" Eda's yawn was cut short. "C'mere-!"
Camilla gasped as she was pulled over, laughing when Eda poked her sides while nuzzling her cheek. The hound at the register cleared her throat, "Your total is 22 gold snails."

Luz howled, tail wagging as Hooty opened. Vee pushed her head down, barking at the beast who stomped in, "Auntieeee!!" Vee squealed.
"H-Hello Kiddos-" Lilith smiled awkwardly. "I-I'm your aunt!"
"We know!" Luz barked. "Hi Auntie Lily!"
King jumped on Vee's head and into Lilith's arms, tail wagging, "Eeee!"
Luz and Vee looked to eachother, then to Lilith, jumping up and on top of her. "WOAH!" Lilith fell back.
The kids laughed, tails wagging almost in unison before they started aggressively (but softly) nuzzling Lilith. The griffin chirped, grinning as, finally and for once, she had a new group of people to love. "I love these kids!" Lilith exclaimed.
Her wings fanned out, wrapping around the kids as she jumped to her feet. Luz cooed, Vee and King in awe as they were easily picked up. Eda scoffed, "I could do that.."
King clambered up Lilith's shoulder, turning so he would be facing the same way as her. "O-Oh I-" Lilith hummed, looking over her shoulder. "Where did I put it-"
Vee peeked up at Lilith, tail wagging as she held up the tiny bag, "Hehehehe-"
"Oh you little- Pickpockter." Lilith set Vee and Luz down, taking the tiny bag.
She opened it, King sniffing it before shaking his head, wiping his nose, "King, we talked about that!" Luz picked him from Lilith's shoulder. "No sniffing things before I have sniffed em!"
"Was Luz trained for that too??" Vee looked back at Camilla.
She nodded, "Luz always went to training camps, one of which was to train her to be a sniffer dog."
"What, like sniffing alcohol and stuff?" Eda asked.
"Yep." Camilla popped the p. "Drugs, alcohol, vodka, beer..Gunpowder too. But her Papa and I trained Luz to find things she's marked before."
Luz barked, "Like Amity!" She yipped, tail wagging.
"Like Amity." Camilla smiled.
"Is it different for you?" Lilith stomped over, offering Eda some papers. "Marking I mean."
Camilla shrugged, "It's different for all of us. Dogs like myself and Luz mark things by lying on it long enough that our scent lingers. Birds sing to display something is theirs.."
"Do you want me to sing something for you?" Eda tilted her head.
"No I already marked you."
Lilith nodded slowly, "Can you cross-breed?"
"Ewww!" Vee and Luz gagged.
"Mama, what's cross-breeding?" King gently tugged at Camilla's pants.
"Something you don't have to learn about yet." Camilla booped his nose. "Technically, I could. But only with my own species, like Luz's dad."
"You don't have to call him my dad, Mama.." Luz picked King back up. "While he still is, you can refer to him as you wish.."
Camilla ruffled Luz's fur, "Manny, wasn't the same breed as me, and we still had Luz as healthy and silly as can be."
Luz's tail wagged, the pup allowing King to go up her shoulder before he jumped and tackled Vee. "Have you ever seen any..Unusual ones?" Lilith waved her hand.
Camilla thought for a second, then shook her head, "Its one or the other. Unless they're similar in type, lions and tigers have ligers. Zebras and horses..Same animal family, I suppose."
"That's interesting.." Lilith hummed, sorting it in her brain. "We're free to roam about the cabin."
"Wait, does that mean Amity-"
"Nope, nope. We aren't talking about this yet." Camilla covered Luz's muzzle. "Too young. Toooooo young."
Luz jerked back and bit Camilla's hand, gripping her wrist and nearly flipping her before her neck was squeezed. Luz shook her head, releasing her mother and stepping back, "Sorry." Vee let Luz's neck go. "Mama told me how to stop you from flipping people."
"I forgot about that training.." Camilla pat Luz's head. "Sorry Mija, that was me."
Luz shook her head, "Reaction. That was me. Training sticks, y'know.."
Eda lowered her head, meeting Luz's gaze, "Do you need a minute, Kid?"
"No, I'm okay. Can we have dinner?" Luz's tail began to wag at the thought of dinner, smiling brightly at Eda when she nodded.
King shook Vee roughly before jumping up to Luz's shoulder. "Guh-" Vee fell back.
"King. How dare you." Camilla crossed her arms.
"How dare you." Eda nodded. "Do that without me! C'mere Vee-"
"Edalyn Clawthorne." Camilla spoke softly. "You touch a single fur on Vee's head with malintent, and you don't get your nest."
Eda scoffed, "This is my house."
Luz, Vee, and King, stepped behind Lilith. "Whats going on-" Lilith looked back at them.
"Hide us please." Luz whispered.
Lilith thought no further and fanned out her wings, shielding her nieces and nephew. Camilla turned to Eda, ears pinned back, tail drooped. "Say that one more time but look me in the eye."
Eda turned, leaning down, "This. Is my house."
Camilla nodded slowly, "Who's on your residence list, Edalyn?"
She paused to think, then hummed softly, tapping her lower jaw. "I think it's just Hooty.."
"Are you sure?" Lilith pointed to the papers. "You did request it."
Eda blanked, opening the papers, "Hey-! These were not the papers I asked of you!"
"No, cause I requested them." Camilla took the papers, flipping through them and showing Eda a line. "Read up on Isle Laws, I've been here long enough to have leverage over the property. So far, your kitchen, living room, and bedroom are mine."
Eda's jaw dropped, Lilith nodding, "If a guest is a guest too long, they become residences."
"Ah-! Does that mean we're legal residencies??" Luz peeked under Lilith's wings.
"Yes it does," Lilith pat Luz's head. "So you can technically be-"
"Shh-" Eda zipped her mouth shut. "Not yet!"
Lilith covered her beak, shaking her head. Camilla looked over at the clock, pulling her phone out and checking the time there. "Ah, we need to finish dinner quickly. You have school tomorrow."
King yipped, "I get to see François again!!"
"Masha and Clara too!" Vee grinned.
Luz wailed, "I hAvE tO sAy gOoDbYe tO mY gIrlFrIeNd-" She sniffled. "I'll go get the Crow.."

Lilith handed Vee her bag and a gift, winking down at her before stepping back. "I'll see you kids next week, then?" Lilith looked to Camilla.
"You're free to visit whenever! Amity gets the same privileges when her and Luz's work is complete." Camilla smiled.
"I'll see you Monday Cariño," Luz nuzzled her cheek. "After work though, okay?"
Amity nodded, "That's just fine, I'll be waiting with lunch."
Luz smiled, tail wagging, "I looooove you~!"
Amity giggled, "I loooove you too Luz. I'll see if I can visit Sunday night." Amity licked Luz's cheek, grooming her fur.
Luz lowered her head, growling softly as she recieved her much needed loving. "Bye Momma!" King hugged Eda. "We'll be back soon!"
"See ya King." Eda kissed his skull. "Cam will take care of you while I get some stuff done."
"Oh and," Lilith pulled a paper from her small bag, handing it to Camilla. "There's a basilisk on the loose, we don't know where it could've gone and we've been looking for it."
Camilla swallowed, "Oh. Thank you."
"It shouldn't be dangerous, but you never know. Take care of yourself, Children."
Vee nodded, King waving at Lilith while Luz just hummed softly.
Finalizing a few things, Eda opened the portal door, Vee and King walking through. "Luz, you're--" Eda snorted. "Goodness gracious."
Luz smiled, tail wagging as her fur was slicked back and damp. "Does this mean I don't have to shower??" She giggled as she walked through and waved at Amity.
Camilla rolled her eyes, smiling and waving at Amity and Lilith. "Saturday for dinner, don't forget." Camilla pointed to Eda. "We'll be back Monday."
"Alright, I'll see you soon Cam."
Camilla sighed, "Ay no me puedo quedar enojada." Camilla waved Eda down. "Come here."
Eda lowered her head, "Are you going to slap me?"
"Not today." Camilla nuzzled her cheek. "Keep the nest warm while I'm gone, okay?"
Eda slumped, "I will.."
Lilith and Amity looked to eachother, shrugging and turning, "So, tell me apprentice of mine," Lilith walked out. "How is it you came to date my niece?"
Amity perked, then smiled brightly, "So awhile ago-!"
