I am already missing him. Prisha slept on my lap and I lovingly stroked her hair. We all arrived at our lavish home, thanks to my brother and sister-in-law's hard work. The terrace is my favorite spot, I spent some time exploring the house. After picking up Prisha, my sister-in-law showed us to our separate rooms. Everyone was exhausted, so we all went inside to rest.

It's already 2 o'clock! I reassured my sister-in-law that I would take care of Prisha in case she woke up at night. I'm tired too, so after freshening up, I put on a cotton suit and climbed into bed, closing my eyes for some relaxation. I picked up my phone and opened WhatsApp to message Adi that which he replied instantly as he was waiting for my message.

~•~

"I reached."

"Okay!"

"haven't slept yet?"

"Was waiting for you!"

"Actually buba I am tired today
Can we talk on the phone tomorrow."

"Yeah sleep well my love❤️"

"Bye good night ❤️
wake up early in the morning
because you've got a meeting!"

"Yeahhh!"

~•~

I woke up this morning like I usually do out of habit. After getting ready, I checked the time and it was already 7 AM. Adi's meeting was at 8 AM, so I started wondering if he was still sleeping and what about Karan? I dialed Adi's number while sitting on my bed with my head resting on the headrest and my knees slightly raised. Anxiously biting my nails, I waited for him to answer the call. As I glanced at my bedside, I saw Prishu sleeping soundly, completely unaware of the world.

I called again, hoping for an answer, and finally he picked up the phone in his groggy morning voice that I absolutely adore.

"Hmmmm"

"Uthna nahi hai aapko abhi bhi?" I asked softly.

(Don't you want to wake up now?)

"Hmmmm"

He's just humming and not saying anything, it's making me annoyed.

"Aad__"

I was gonna wake him up again, but my niece woke up all groggy and started looking around. When she spotted me, she slowly made her way towards me. I was still on the call, not hearing anything from the other person. She plopped down on my stomach and laid her head on my chest, falling back asleep. She hugged me tight, just like a koala.

"Fir se so gaye aap?"

(Again slept?)

I was caressing her soft curly hair and all, but instead of her, Adi replied again with a hmmmm which cracked me up.

"Aapko nahi kaha"

(I didn't said to you!)

"I'm talking to my niece!"

I replied, gently patting Prisha's back and she continued snoring while snuggling in  my chest. We stayed quiet for a moment. Back in college, I used to wish that I could spend endless hours on the phone with Adi, blurring the line between day and night. Now, even though it's the first time we're doing it, there's a peaceful silence between us.

"Wake up, Adi!

I was 'Trying to sound stern,' but he just chuckled and it made me huff.

"I am sleepy 'Cause last night I couldn't sleep on my pillow" His voice came out husky

I asked him why he couldn't sleep when he had so many pillows around him. And here was Prishu snuggling in my chest, making me smile.

"Only two pillow wasn't there on which i always sleep!"

"Which one?"

I asked him curiously not able understand

"Your boobies, my pillow wifey!"

I can totally feel the smirk on his face. Why is he so bold and doesn't filter anything he says? Actually, none of the Rathore cousins have a filter in their mouth.

"Suniye"

(Listen)

"Boliye"

(Say)

I managed to control my smile by taking my lower lip between my teeth.

"Come on, wake up, Karan."

I pleaded because I knew he had a habit of waking up late and I didn't want him to get scolded for being late to the meeting.

"Nah, I won't."

Ugh, I knew he would say that.

"Adi, come on, he's gonna be late!"

I was trying my best to make him understand, but he was just being stubborn.

"Nope."

"Adi, do it for me, please?"

Hoping he would listen.

"Ek baar aao idhar fir batata hoon tumhe bhot kaam karva rahi ho mujhse"

(Come here once and I will tell you, you are making me do a lot of work)

I laughed hearing his irritate voice.

"Marna nahi usse!"

(Don't beat him)

I know that he's in a grumpy mood and he's about to take it out on Karan.

"Yeah-Yeah"

I chuckeld listening him and disconnected the call.

I scooped up Prisha in my arms and she hugged me tightly, just like a koala. We all gathered in the living room, with me getting Prisha ready for school while Bhabhi was still snoring and Bhai was doing his workout. He recently started his own business, which is going pretty well.

Ishu was probably still fast asleep, so I decided to make breakfast for everyone. After a while, we all sat down together and had breakfast before going about our respective tasks for the day.

Lately, we've been getting a lot of new contracts for our website. It's surprising because we didn't do anything special or advertise much, but more and more people seem to be liking our designs and work. Rehan was also amazed by this development. I guess it's true what they say - quality speaks for itself.

I'm just happy that the more satisfied we make our clients, the more demand we'll have, and the sooner I can clear the payments for the jewelry I borrowed. I worked non-stop till evening, alongside Rehan, making sure everything was in order on the site. In the middle of it all, Adi called to ask if I had eaten lunch. It should've been me asking him, but I told him that I was busy working on new decorations.

He said he will pick me up but i denied immediately knowing that it would be very tiring for him so he need rest too moreover rn my new home and my sasural path are totally opposite in the directions. In the evening we all went out together to have dinner where we all spent great time together.

"Finally, someone actually missed me!"

He said jokingly as he lounged on the bed, lying on his stomach with no shirt on and dim lighting in the room. Siya chuckled, balancing her phone on her shoulder as she made the bed.

"Dil ki itni acchi joh hoon kisi ko ignore nahi kar pati"

(I have such a good heart that I cannot ignore anyone)

She played along.

"Kisi ko nahi yaa mujhe nahi?"

(Not anyone or me)

He asked with a small smile. Siya abruptly stopped her work in the middle and continued to make the bed, blushing.

"Had dinner?" she asked.

"I see someone is trying to change the topic. Anyway, I did. Did you enjoy today?" he asked.

"A lot, buba. You know..."

She started narrating everything she did today and he patiently listened, not getting bored because of her excitement in her tone. She grabbed the wood attached to the net on all four sides. She was about to set up the net to prevent mosquitoes from entering, but then she saw Ishu and Aardhana approaching her.

"Aadhi bhabhi and Ishu are coming, I will call__"

She just dropped the phone on the bed and pretended to be taking a deep breath, even though it was late at night. Adi already knew that his wife's shyness had taken over again. He was about to end the call when Aardhana, munching on banana masala chips in the evening to satisfy her craving after convincing Amar with puppy eyes, asked.

"Siya! We saw you talking on the phone, and by the way, who are you talking to?"

"It must be jiju." Ishu chimed in.

"Aree nahi voh bas aise hi"

(It's not like that)

"Seriously, can't she just tell them that she's talking to her husband?" Adi thought, getting more and more annoyed while still on the call.

Siya sat down on the bed next to her Ishu, while Aardhana was sitting on the chair.

"What have you learned so far from jija ji?"

Aardhana asked playfully, making Adi ready to end the call but their questions made him pause. He desperately wanted an answer from Siya.

"What do you mean?" she asked, confused.

"Well, I get to witness the romance between jija-ji and di every day. Anyway, tell us something about yours, bhabhi"

Ishu said, catching Siya off guard.

"I've learned how to create a loving home and have lots of sex with your bhai"

Aardhana said with a mischievous grin on her face, causing Siya to widen her eyes and Ishu to chuckle. She second-guessed her own sentence, thinking that 'Sharma's don't have filters in their mouths.'

Meanwhile, Adi was staring out at the balcony and his phone was lying beside him as he anxiously waited for Siya's answer but instead, he overheard something else. He opened his eyes, a slight frown visible on his face. The conversation he was listening to gave him different thoughts, but he shrugged them off and was about to hang up when he heard Siya's response.

"Ewwww, dii"

Siya exclaimed, completely wrapped in a blanket, hugged by Ishu.

"What's 'eww' about this? In the future, we're gonna do it!"

Adi thought, shaking his head in disbelief. He disconnected the call and went to sleep with a grumpy mood.

"If it was 'eww', then my little Prishu wouldn't have come, and there's a second one on the way," Ardhana rolled her eyes.

"Dii, don't tell me you're not gonna give us! I want to become an mausi!"
Ishu whined.

"And also a maami!"

Ardhana added, munching on chips.Siya is totally perplexed and doesn't know how to respond. She's always been shy, so saying 'chii' just comes out of habit.

"But when did I ever say that I don't want a baby?" Siya asked.

"How are we even supposed to conceive if you're referring to the process
as 'chii'?"

Ishu said it in a sarcastic tone, and Aardhana just nodded in agreement. Siya reacted with a 'chii' because of the way she blurted it out so bluntly.

"Areee, I mean, I didn't mean anything by it"

Siya corrected herself.

"You understand, Ishu, it just means she also wanted to have s__."

Before Aardhana could finish their playful sentence, Siya interrupted them.

"Chup!"

(Shut up)

Siya enveloped her entire body with a blanket, her cheeks turning red.

"Please fetch a mosquito net, Nanad Ji, for it wouldn't please our Jijaji to see his wife being bitten by mosquitoes"

Mischievously mentioned Aardhana. Ishu joined in later, as they all departed to their assigned places. In the meantime, Siya and Ishu slept side by side on the terrace. She felt remorseful for not being able to spend quality time with her husband. However, she promised herself that she would make an effort to do so from now on.

Unbeknownst to them, six days went by in this manner. They always found solace in their phone conversations, and they grew closer with each passing day. Siya would eagerly share every detail of her life, including the progress of her small business and how she initiated it. Adi would listen intently and smile, regardless of how exhausted he was, for Siya's voice alone served as a source of comfort for him.

Adhiraj has turned into quite the flirt, especially when it comes to Siya. She always makes sure he's protected from dust and traffic pollution by reminding him during phone calls and even ordering him not to work too late at night but when it comes to work, he only listens to himself. Like, they were chatting on the phone every night, you know? And then, Siya heard this loud thud noise coming from the corner of the terrace, and she quickly sat on the bed, leaving her internet aside.

"Wait a sec, Adi!"

Siya whispered, and he asked with a frown.

"Are you okay? What happened, Siya?"

He was getting impatient because sudden fear started bubbling up inside him.

"I think someone's there!"

Siya stammered.

"Damn it! Don't go anywhere, just hide!"

"Yeah, I'm trying!"

He was trying to calm down, but deep down, he was freaking out. He griped his keys, ready to leave the room, but upon hearing Siya, he furrowed his brows in frustration.

"Karan?"

Siya whispered, ready to beat his ass, but Adi stopped her.

"Don't, Siya, and let him do whatever he's doing!"

He slumped back onto the bed.

"Nahi karu mera kidney, dil, lung sab haath main aa gaya tha."

(Why not, my kidney, heart, lungs all came out in my hand)

Siya quietly shouted at him and he laughed. He had already made up his mind to thoroughly beat up Karan because his body has been itching like crazy for days now.

"Why is he jumping around like a monkey? I'm telling you, he is looking like completely thief"

Siya whispered, while hiding behind the wall and watching him enter the house.

"Yeh toh andar jaa rha hai"

(He is going inside)

He told her, but he ignored his inappropriate thoughts after twisting her sentence to have a double meaning.

"I'm telling you, his symptoms aren't showing correctly"

Siya said again, making him laugh a bit.

"Let them have fun!"

He purposely hinted to her.

"Wait, who?"

She asked.

"Karan and Ishu"

He replied with a smile.

"Are they...?"

She asked for confirmation, to which he muttered yes.

"When, how, and why hasn't Ishu informed me about it yet?"

Siya exclaimed, feeling betrayed. Ishu had always shared everything with her, no matter what. The fact that such a big thing was hidden from her, especially by Karan and Ishu, made her feel hurt. He could sense the sadness in her voice, which instantly dampened his mood.

"You also hid it from me!"

Siya murmured sadly. Adi's eyes widened in shock as he jerked sitting on the bed.

"Never! I found out about it myself just yesterday."

He sorted out the confusion instantly. Both of them stay loyal to each other and never trust anyone else, even if that person is incredibly close to them. They want to avoid any misunderstandings caused by a third party.

"Kaise?" She asked

(How?)

"It was pretty late when I was coming home yesterday, and guess what? I saw him sneaking out! So I caught him and he confessed that he has feelings for Ishu and plans to confess soon."

"Huh, WHAT!"

He pulls the phone away from his ear, stunned by her reaction.

"So now he's going to propose to her at night, like a stealthy thief?"

She asked, bewildered.

"I have no idea what's going on"

He shrugged.

"I'm going inside, Adi!"

Siya said as she got up from the bed, but he reassured her.

"Siya, they're enough matured to make their own decisions"

He tried to reason with her.

"I trust them"

Siya whispered, making him smile. They both talked a bit more before falling asleep.

Amar found out amidst all the chaos that his mom and dad had kidnapped Ishita and now they're in jail. Initially he felt a heartache, but then he realized that they deserved it because of all the wrong they had done. So, he quickly backed away, understanding that it was simply karma catching up to them but somewhere hus heart still ache.

~🦋~

Tomorrow Siya will be leaving, so everyone thought it would be a good idea to take the day off and you won't believe it, Amar wants to tell her something super important that might hurt her big time. He's worried about seeing her sad again, but Ardhana convinced him that she deserves to know. Prishu is fast asleep, so they decided it's the perfect moment to spill the beans. They all gathered in Amar's room.

"Siya, there's something you really need to know"

Amar said. Siya and Ishu looked at him with confusion, but they nodded and urged him to go on.

"There was lady called 'Sumitra sharma' who used to live in our house and she happened to be our grandma. She was more of a traditional and old-fashioned thinker, you know. Our family dynamics weren't great right from the start. Everyone was just doing their own thing, it felt like love had been forgotten. Your mom, Meera aunty, was a really carefree person, and so was your dad, although he had this not-so-great habit of drinking a lot but he loved your mom to bits. Your Nani was the only one who supported your mom, but unfortunately, she passed away due to old age."

Siya's eyes were filled with new tears as she recalled her mausi's words about her mother when she used to tell young Siya about her. Amar gently brushed away her tears and carried on.

"Meera aunty had a pregnancy but unfortunately, they couldn't save the baby and it turned out to be a boy. Then, I was born and became the heir of our house. One day, we found out that your mother was pregnant again and everyone was super excited. However, after nine months, it turned out to be a girl, which made everyone abandon your mother because they wanted a boy. When aunty came home with your father, everyone treated her with indifference. Dadi really wanted a boy to be the eldest heir, but that didn't happen, so she became upset. She started mistreating and verbally abusing your mother. One day, your mother caught dadi attempting to harm you, but she managed to save you."

She doesn't know what to say from the beginning because they're trying to kill her. She's just listening, trying to picture her mother in her mind.

"Ya know, dadi used to be in your dad's ear all the time, spewing all kinds of nonsense. It got so bad that he couldn't even focus on his work, and all his frustration ended up taken out on your mom. So, to spare you from all that drama, she handed you over to her Best friend, Ishu's mom. She made her promise to take good care of you and never give up little Siya to anyone else."

Ishu gave Siya's hand a little rub. She didn't want her to cry, but she couldn't help but cry herself while listening to their super tragic story.

"Your mausi is super happy to accept you. When your mom came back home, nobody noticed if you were with her or not. Nobody bothered to ask, and your mom didn't say anything either. It was a regular thing for your mom to meet you secretly without anyone knowing, while your dad would always come back home drunk. When you were 1.5 years old, your mom got pregnant again and this time everyone hoped for a boy like your dad, but it turned out to be another girl."

Her eyes got all wide when she found out that she has a little sister too.

"Meera aunty stayed with your little sister for just 6 months and it turned out later that she had cancer. Unfortunately, your father had to take a loan from some people but couldn't save your mother. He didn't even know where you were and never made an effort to find you. Suddenly, one day he vanished from home along with his little daughter."

S

iya just sat there, tears streaming down her face. She couldn't help but feel suffocated, realizing that her father never made an effort to find her. And where is her sister? What happened to that little one?

"Meri maa ki koi tasveer hai?"

(Is there any picture of my mother?)

Amar wiped away her tears and grabbed a photo from the drawer, placing it on the coffee table. Siya's eyes became blurry as she looked at the photo.

There was this one photo where her parents were just sitting there, not showing any emotions in their eyes. Siya couldn't look away from her mother's face, who had been through it all. She lovingly caressed the photo and gave it a kiss. She then shifted her gaze towards her father, but found nothing there but emptiness.

father is father only.

She glanced away from the little child who was sucking her thumb and smiled at the display of innocence.

"Yeh main hoon yaa chhoti hai?"

(Is it me or my little sister?)

Siya asked still admiring the photo.

"Your little sister"

"How did you find out about this?"

Siya asked, looking perplexed.

"When I came to get married, I found out that you had already left that place. That's when my mother-in-law started telling me everything, and my perspective started changing over time"

Aardhana explained.

"Bhai, I don't want to, but right now I need Aadhi with me. Can I go to my in-laws' place?"

Siya whispered softly enough for them to hear. They all nodded, getting the situation that she was in. Ishu will now be living with Amar because he wanted her to be his forever sister. Aardhana also chimed in and started feeling at ease with them. Ishu agreed.

Why siya's dad disappear suddenly?
