The following day, on a sunny Sunday, Alexandra found herself standing in her new AlphaTauri garage, anticipation and excitement building as the Barcelona Grand Prix was about to begin. Paddy, her engineer from Mercedes, stood beside her, going over the race strategy one last time.

As the lights went out, the cars roared to life, hurtling down the straight, and Alexandra's heart pounded with adrenaline. Watching the race from her new garage brought a mix of emotions. She couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for the time she spent with Charles and the Ferrari team, but she also felt a newfound sense of belonging with AlphaTauri.

Throughout the race, Alexandra's focus was keenly on the track. The high-speed action and intense battles between drivers mesmerized her. She was eager to learn from her new team and observe their strategies, hoping to improve her own racing skills as she prepared for her debut season with them.

However, as the laps went by, her excitement turned to concern when she noticed Charles' car slowing down on the track. The live feed showed that he had a DNF due to engine issues. Her heart sank for him, knowing how much effort and dedication he put into each race.

Paddy noticed her distress and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It's tough out there," he said softly. "Things can change in an instant in this sport."

She nodded, trying to keep her emotions in check. It was part of racing, the highs, and lows, but seeing Charles facing disappointment weighed heavily on her.

As the race continued, Alexandra's focus shifted back to her own team's performance. She cheered on Pierre Gasly, watching as he fought hard for positions and showcased his skill on the track. Her admiration for her teammate grew, and she felt an even stronger drive to prove herself alongside him next season.

Throughout the rest of the race, Alexandra and Paddy worked closely together, analyzing the data and strategizing for their future races. Despite the disappointment of Charles' DNF, she was determined to stay positive and learn as much as she could from every experience.

As the checkered flag waved, Pierre secured a solid finish for AlphaTauri, bringing a sense of satisfaction to Alexandra. She felt proud of the team's performance and was excited about what the future held for her in Formula 1.

After the race, Alexandra made her way to the paddock, eager to check in with Charles. She found him standing outside his team's garage, a mix of frustration and determination in his eyes. She approached him, offering a supportive smile.

"Hey, Charles," she said softly. "Are you okay?"

He looked grateful for her kind words, a glimmer of a smile forming. "Thanks, Lexi," he replied. "That's racing, I guess. I'll learn from it and come back stronger."

"I have no doubt about that," she said sincerely. "And hey, maybe we'll have some great battles on the track next season." she teased, knowing how much he was secretly looking forward to competing against her.

Charles chuckled, the competitive spirit in him rising once more. "I'm looking forward to it," he said. "Just remember, I won't go easy on you."

She laughed, a sense of camaraderie between them. "Likewise. May the best driver win." she paused. "And by the way, that's me." she blew him a kiss. He mocked catching it and stamping on it with a laugh, before pulling her into a tight hug.

"You always make me smile, Mon Amor," he whispered into her shoulder.

"That's my job," she grinned. "Now, go, you've got media duties. I'll meet you back at the hotel." she smiled. He leaned in to kiss her gently, before pulling away with a small, mischievous grin.

"See you later, Mon Ange."

Honey, I'm home.

Later in the evening, after a long day of racing and media commitments, Charles entered his hotel room, looking forward to some much-needed relaxation. To his surprise, he found Alexandra sitting at the vanity, humming a song as she did her makeup.

He stood there for a moment, silently admiring her, before deciding to make his presence known. He moved closer, standing behind her, and leaned over to kiss her cheek softly. Alexandra turned her head, meeting his gaze with a warm smile, and they shared another sweet kiss before breaking apart.

"Ciao, Bella," Charles said, his voice filled with affection. "How was your day?"

Alexandra put down her makeup brush and turned to face him. "It was good," she replied. "Busy, but good. How about you? How did things go with the media?"

He let out a sigh, his frustration evident on his face. "The media was okay, but I'm still annoyed about the DNF," he admitted.

She reached out, placing a comforting hand on his cheek. "I'm sorry to hear that, Mon Cheri," she said sympathetically. "You worked so hard, and these things happen sometimes."

He appreciated her understanding and nodded. "Yeah, I know. It's just frustrating when things don't go as planned."

Alexandra leaned in and kissed him gently. "I understand, but remember, you're an incredible driver, and you have so many more races ahead of you."

He smiled, grateful for her support. "You always know how to make me feel better," he said, his eyes filled with admiration.

She chuckled. "That's what girlfriends are for, right?"

Charles wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. "Speaking of which, I was thinking, how about we go out for dinner tonight? Just us, instead of going out with the grid," he suggested. "I could use a distraction, and I'd love to show off my beautiful girlfriend to the world."

Alexandra grinned, feeling her heart swell with love for him. "You really know how to flatter a girl," she said playfully.

He shrugged, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "It's not flattery if it's true," he replied with a wink.

She laughed, feeling lighter and more at ease. "Alright, let's go out then," she said. "But if at any point you want to call it a night and stay in, just let me know. We can order room service and have a cozy evening together."

He shook his head. "No way. I want to go out and have fun with you," he said. "You always know how to make me smile, and I can't resist showing you off."

With that, they finished getting ready, both feeling a sense of excitement for the evening ahead. As they stepped out of the hotel, hand in hand, Charles felt a renewed sense of joy and gratitude for having Alexandra by his side.

As they stepped inside the small, charming restaurant, Alexandra was immediately enchanted by its intimate decor. Soft, warm lighting created a cozy ambiance, and the walls were adorned with vintage photographs and paintings, hinting at the rich history of the family-owned establishment.

The wooden tables were elegantly set with fine linens, and vases of fresh flowers graced each one, filling the air with a delicate floral fragrance. The walls were adorned with shelves displaying vintage books, adding a touch of sophistication to the quaint atmosphere.

The restaurant's rustic charm was accentuated by the soft melody of Spanish guitar music that wafted through the air, creating a delightful background soundtrack for the evening.

As Alexandra settled into her seat, she couldn't help but feel a sense of tranquility and warmth in this enchanting space. She turned to Charles, her eyes sparkling with appreciation. "This place is perfect! How did you find it?" she asked.

Charles smiled, pleased to see her enjoying the ambiance. "I asked Carlos for a recommendation," he confessed, a hint of bashfulness in his voice.

Alexandra chuckled softly, finding his gesture endearing. "You asked Carlos?" she said playfully. "That's incredibly sweet of you."

He grinned, feeling gratified by her response. "You deserve the best," he said sincerely. "And I wanted tonight to be special for you."

Their drinks arrived, and they raised their glasses in a toast, savoring the moment together. The soft glow of candlelight flickered, casting a gentle glow on their faces as they raised their glasses. As their glasses clinked, Charles brought up the topic that had been on his mind earlier. "By the way, have you picked a driver number for next year yet?"

She paused for a moment, feeling a rush of excitement and anxiety. "Oh no, I completely forgot about that!" she exclaimed, a touch of panic in her voice.

He gently placed his hand on hers, calming her nerves. "It's alright. You still have time, and there's no need to rush," he reassured her.

She took a deep breath, trying to relax. "You're right. I just want it to be something meaningful," she explained.

Charles nodded in understanding. "I get it. It has to be something that resonates with you," he said thoughtfully. "How about we look for a number together? It could be a fun process."

Alexandra's eyes brightened, appreciating his suggestion. "That sounds perfect," she said, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. As they continued their delightful dinner in the charming restaurant, Charles and Alexandra engaged in playful banter while trying to find the perfect driver number for her upcoming season. Charles suggested various options, but none seemed to resonate with Alexandra.

He playfully offered the number 25, to which Alexandra shook her head. "No, it doesn't have any personal significance to me," she said with a smile.

Charles then suggested 35, but again Alexandra declined. "Still not quite right," she replied, sipping her wine thoughtfully.

They pondered on a few more options before Charles randomly mentioned another number. "What about 13? Nobody ever really picks it because it's supposed to be unlucky, but-," he paused as he saw a flash of an unknown emotion cross her face as she held the wine glass.

He chuckled and teased, "Of course, you'd be tempted by a superstitious number."

Alexandra laughed too, but her eyes sparkled with a hint of mystery. "Actually, there's another reason why I'm interested in the number 13," she said, setting her wine glass down. "It holds meaning for me."

Charles raised an intrigued eyebrow. "Oh? What's the reason then?" he asked, genuinely curious.

She hesitated for a moment, feeling a mix of emotions. "It's my mother's birthday," she revealed softly.

Charles' expression softened, understanding the significance behind the choice. "I didn't know that," he said gently. "It's a beautiful way to honor your mother's memory."

Alexandra nodded, a warm smile gracing her lips. "Yes, I think it's a fitting tribute. She has always been my biggest supporter and this way, she'll always be with me on the track." she smiled at Charles. "Good suggestion."

Charles reached across the table, taking her hand in his. "It's a great choice," he said, his eyes filled with admiration. "I know I never met your mother, but I think she'd be really proud of you, Lex."

Her heart swelled with affection for him, grateful for his understanding and support. "Thank you, Charles," she said softly, feeling touched by his words.

He smiled warmly, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "13 and 16." he smiled softly.

As the night continued, they agreed that the number 13 felt like the right choice. Alexandra knew that, with Charles's support and her mother's memory driving her forward, she was ready to embrace the challenges and adventures that awaited her in the world of Formula 1.

Their dinner ended on a sweet note, with both of them feeling a sense of contentment and excitement for the future. As they stepped out of the restaurant hand in hand, they knew that their love and passion for racing would intertwine, making their journey together even more exhilarating and meaningful.
