There was a break in the Siren lines, this was their one chance to escape.

"Blow smoke! Cover us until we can escape!" Captain Lindemann shouted,

"Aye Captain!"

———————

Fuel oil was injected directly into the funnel, making it evaporate in the hot gases, producing a huge cloud of acrid black smoke.

It created a huge smokescreen, which helped to disguise the ship visually,

Unfortunately, the smoke would blow around and get in the way of gunsights, making it much harder to actually aim at your intended targets,

But shooting wasn't the priority at the current moment, escape was.

Surprisingly, they didn't seem to give chase.

—————

POV, Observer & Tester

"They are putting oil into their own exhaust.. to create what I assume to be a smokescreen." Observer said.

"I have to admit, I have never seen such a tactic be used, even in universe #8261, where they still used steel hulled ships, they used actual generators to create a smokescreen." Tester said,

"Either they are desperate, or they are trying some tactic we haven't seen before." Observer said,

"Well, their technology level is extremely crude in comparison to their surroundings. Maybe they don't have access to such devices..." Tester said,

"No access to a smoke generator?" Observer said,

She chuckled a little, quite a rare occurrence.

"It's so cute to see them fight with technology so primitive." Observer said,

"But these ships that we are using are geared past what most all shipgirls up to this point were able to handle. They are approximately fifty levels above what fully limit broken shipgirls were able to achieve, yet they are destroyed with a single shot." Tester said,

"Perhaps they invested their efforts into making advanced weapon systems rather than making "computers"" Observer said,

A siren battleship (unit B5275) was hit directly by a shell from the battleship, the projectile seemed to run straight through the metal skin of the ship, and then there was a massive explosion, and the whole front of the vessel was turned into a mangled mess.

"Hmmm, unit B5275 took a direct hit" Observer said,

"These drone units should have onboard damage control sensors, see what happened when the projectile from Code-B hit."

"Unit-B5275 damage record." Tester said to her tablet she was holding,

.
.
.
Tester's eyes started to open slightly, in a surprised fashion

"It seems that there's nothing advanced about Code-Bs projectiles" Tester said.

"Really? Then why do our ships get destroyed in only one hit?" Observer said, raising an (artificial) eyebrow

"The projectiles are just, really big." Tester said.

"How big?" Observer said,

"The shot that hit B5275 was Fifteen centimeters wide, and traveling at a much faster speed than an average shell from any nation's KAN-SEN units." Tester assessed

"How much is that?" Observer said,

"Around 800 meters per second, fast enough to where it becomes difficult to register it visually"

"That fast? With what?"

"Based on the filler of the shell, and the muzzle flashes. Probably a form of "gunpowder"" Tester said.

"the size and kinetic energy of the projectile hit B5275 with an extremely high force, and the internal structure gave way, and then the projectile hit the main power stowage for the primary weapons inside, and it all went off in one chain reaction." Tester then said,

"Hmmm. So this was the primary armament?" Observer asked

"Perhaps, most of our ships that are destroyed have their ammunition batteries destroyed, so it is hard to tell what destroyed them." Tester said,

"Interesting... to think that weapons of this power could be so primitive." Observer said,

.
.
.

"Or maybe...." Observer began

"Observer? What is it?" Tester asked

"Is the rouge wisdom cube still aboard?" Observer asked,

.
.
.

"It is...." Tester said.

"It is?"

"Yes, the readings are popping up a whole lot, around the second surface layer of Code-B, on one of the guns." Tester said,

"Well, considering wisdom cubes have the essence of a human inside of them, it would make sense why it is helping fellow humans....." Observer said, putting her thumb near her chin in a thinking pose.

"But our goal stays the same," Observer then said,

"We need to run tests on the cube, and perhaps run tests on Code-B, find out just what size this vessel is, I do not care if we destroy the Ironblood in the process, there are plenty of other universes to choose from." Observer said.

"Is purifier in place? did we buy the correct amount of time?" Observer then followed up, eyeballing tester.

"Yes ma'am she is, she just boarded Code-B now." Tester said.

"Excellent,

Now to go visit our soon-to-be allies in the Royal navy. I wonder how Code-B will stack up against them.." Observer said.

Tester raised an eyebrow.

"I mean, a large Iron Blood super battleship is about to escape into the Atlantic if they don't do anything." Observer said with a smug smile

Daniel slammed his hands over his ears,

*THOOOOOOOM!

He could feel the recoil of the massive gun in his chest.

The red wisdom cube possessing the gun was able to easily target siren ships through the smoke coming out of the funnel.

It was at maximum elevation, shooting at the furthest distance it could possibly shoot.

The large ship had been on full flank speed for almost two hours, and it was making impressive speed despite the terrible conditions.

The already very misty fog plus the extremely heavy waves and the smokescreen combined with Siren ships in all directions made the conditions a nightmare for even the most experienced of sailors.

However....

It stopped,

The constant laser fire stopped.

At first Daniel thought that he was just failing to process the sound because he was hearing in constantly,

but eventually it dawned on him that they weren't under fire anymore.

"Is it over?" Daniel said almost silently to himself.

Bismarck at this point was getting used to lifting individual shells and operating like a loader, so she naturally had more that she found in a stockpile right next to one of the turrets, only to find Daniel standing there staring off, almost as if he was expecting something.

But one by one, the other guns started ceasing fire,

And then the soupy fog started to clear,

Revealing an absolute grave site of Siren ships,

Wrecks of all sizes were in the water, riddled with holes.

Battery acid was leaking into the water, mimicking oil slicks.

A few short cheers from the crew on deck echoed out as they stared at their handiwork.

Daniel smiled a little, feeling an overwhelming sense,

Relief? Not really.... He didn't seem to have anything to fear for the past while,

And then, his legs gave out from under him, sending him cascading down onto the deck.

*FWTHUMP!

He was exhausted from the constant running, heaving heavy objects, and was constantly gripped by adrenaline.

His eyelids flickered open and shut, he was dead tired.

His eyelids seemed to gain upwards of fifty pounds,

And then he saw a blonde-haired Angel from Heaven descend down upon him,

"Did.... I get hit?" Daniel said

About three seconds of thinking that he was dead later, and he realized that the "Angel from Heaven" was actually just a concerned Bismarck, shaking him because she thought he was dying.

"Ugh! I'm here! I'm fine!" Daniel spat out, mustering the strength to sit up,

He rubbed his head,

His ears were still ringing mercilessly from all the shooting,

Bismarck was literally saying something into his ear, and he was unable to hear it.

"What?.."

Bismarck tried yelling

"WHAT?!" Daniel shouted, cupping his ear.

And then was the moment the ringing died down to the point where he could hear slightly again.

"Are y... Kay!?......"

Probably trying to ask if he was okay.

"YES I AM OKAY!" Daniel shouted (unknowingly)

"MY EAR IS RINGING SO LOUDLY RIGHT NOW THAT I CANT HEAR YOU!" Daniel said, pointing to his ear

Bismarck sighed a little.

———————

At least he was okay?....

——————

Bridge, 30 minutes after evading the siren trap

"Herr Käpitan! Land in sight!"

"Land?" Captain Lindemann said,

"Yes sir! We should be nearing the Norwegian coast by now!"

"Good job spotter, man your station." The Captain said,

"Hopefully they would have some facilities we can use to drop off these refugees, or perhaps a port." Captain Lindemann said to himself

"Inform the Admiral! Coastline spotted!"
