𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐄 "𝐀𝐃𝐃𝐘" 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐆𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐔𝐋 𝐌𝐀𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐇𝐄𝐑. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" She asked, seeing her friends and enemy walking over.
He looked at her up and down, making her blush despite her mental protests. She did, however, stay strong in not trying to hide herself behind her arms. "I miss you, Addy." He says, trailing his fingers up and down her arm making her shiver.
His eyes finally found hers and she almost melted under them, feeling the intensity of his look. She knew what he was doing. She knew he only wanted her for one thing.
But maybe she wanted that one thing, too.
She could do that. Spend one more night with him, then be done with him forever. Call it closure.
Adelaide Griffin was officially in the third step of grief: bargaining.
She looked at his eyes through her lashes, chewing on her lip. "I misse-"
"Davis! My friend! What the hell are you doing here?" James Potter exclaimed, wrapping his arm around the boy that was around the same height as him, ignoring the glare he was getting from Addy.
"Potter! Who the hell said we were friends?" Garrett exclaimed back, in the same fake enthusiastic voice that James used.
Elaine looked at her brother who nodded back at her. It was like she was looking at a pair of brothers, only one had glasses and one didn't.
"Listen," Sirius cut in, wrapping his arm around Addy's waist, making the green eyed boy without glasses feel something, and his face showed it. "Seeing as this is a party, I think we can all get along."
"Right, I agr-"
"As long as you stay away from our dear Addy, here." Sirius cut Garrett off, making him narrow his eyes.
"How about you lot actually allow Addy to make decisions herself?" Garrett asked, still eyeing the contact between the small girl and Sirius.
Remus actually agreed with Garrett. "He's not wrong," He spoke up, making both James and Sirius turn and glare at him. "Addy is perfectly capable of making a rational decision."
Adelaide was just eyeing James, confused as to why he was trying to help Sirius break the two up. Doesn't he want Adelaide miserable?
James was also not sure why he was helping the small girl. It just felt like the right thing to do, perhaps.
James did have a savior complex, after all.
"No, I don't think she is." James replied, making Remus smack him on the head of the third time that day.
"Addy, what do you want to do?" Peter spoke quietly, reaffirming his sisters knowledge that he is actually a decent guy.
She sighed looking around at her friends, making prolonged eye contact with the blonde girl. It was as if they were having an entire conversation with just their eyes, and actually understanding each other.
Adelaide begrudgingly turned back to look at her ex boyfriend of two years. "Garrett, we can't do this." She spoke softly, feeling her heart break even more with every word.
All of her friends beamed proudly at her, but she did not feel the same happiness they did.
"Come on, now. Addy, I know you love me." He responded, once again grabbing her hand and squeezing it, attempting to make her feel something positive towards him.
She shook her head and pulled her hand away. "You broke up with me! In front of our entire class. Everyone saw how stupid I looked and how smug you were. I do love you, Garrett, but i will never show you that love, again. Ever."
Her lip quivered as she walked away, and all of her friends (and enemy) stared proudly at her, then turned back to the boy who stood there with his mouth agape.
"Well, I think that settles that! Stay the flip away from her, Garrett." Elaine stated, walking away to go find her friend.
Sirius snorted at the lack of the blonde's cursing, and found himself following her, the rest of the marauders in suit.
They found the two girls together, taking a shot.
And then another one.
"Hey, why don't we slow down, a little." Remus said softly, grabbing the cups they both had in their hand's, and handing them to James who looked at him confused.
What was James supposed to do with these?
"No, I'm gonna get sooooo drunk tonight." Addy said, already feeling the affects of the two shots she just took.
Sirius grinned. "I'll be right there with you, my love." He grabbed three cups, despite Remus' glare, and filled them up with some type of juice.
The two girls happily grabbed the cups, and walked over to where people were dancing.
Sirius followed them and the three of them started dancing together.
Somehow, Addy's back ended up on Sirius' front.
James just shrugged, and went to join the dancing, Peter following. Remus groaned, knowing this wasn't the smart thing to do, and a very unhealthy way to cope for Addy, but he went against the better of his judgement and joined the group to start dancing.
As addy lifted her arms up behind her head and onto whoever it was behind hers shoulders (it was Sirius, but she was too drunk to know that) (he was well aware it was her who was dancing on him), she was staring into none other than James Potter's eyes.
It was as if the two were both speaking with their eyes, but having completely different conversations.
Addy had no clue what James was thinking. Why did he stand up for her, and try to not let her go back to Garrett? In some sick way, did James care for her? That isn't possible. But, she wanted to know. If someone broke up with James, she sure as hell would've taken the girl's side and try to work with the girl to make his life hell.
So why did he try to get Garrett out of here?
Is she just overthinking this? James said at lunch that he didn't like Garrett, maybe he just didn't want him here because of that reason.
She never noticed how pretty James eyes were.
Wait, what? Did she actually just think that?
She shook her head and broke the eye contact, continuing to dance and drink the night away.
