WARNING — long chapter
✧ ─── ・ 。゚✦ *.✧.* :✦. ─── ✧

The only things ( Y/N ) knows about this Miguel O'Hara guy are what she heard from Miles and Lyla. Other than that — nada. After leaving Margo, they entered a dimmer hallway full of little gadgets for and screens for surveying.

As they walked down the hall, Hobie took some items off some of the inventions around them, placing them inside his jacket. The other ( Y/N ) shook her head with a light smile, classic Hobie.

"Probably don't do nothing."

"Maybe it did before you ripped it out or the wall!" Miles exclaimed.

Hobie shrugged. "Propaganda. It'll distract you from the truth."

Miles grimaced with a scoff, glaring. "And what's that?"

"I ain't got a Scooby Doo, mate," he raided his arms up casually and went back to walking lazily down the hallway, hands sliding into his pockets. "'Cause that's what they want."

( Y/N ) was walking along side her variation; it felt weird, but at the same time — the nerd in her was freaking out ( in the excited way ). As they ahead, ( Y/N ) looked up at Stellar-spider with stoic curiosity, causing the other ( Y/N ) to look down at her with a smirk.

The other ( Y/N ) gave a light chuckle. "You alright, mate?"

"Uh — oh, sorry," ( Y/N ) stuttered. "I've just never seen another me before."

"Eh, it's alright," the other ( Y/N ) shrugged.

"So... how'd you become Spider-woman or stellar or... whichever one you are?" ( Y/N ) questioned.

"It's the same ol' story," stellar-spider replied. "Spider bite, someone dies, leap of faith and you're spider-something or whatever."

( Y/N ) frowned in confusion. "Hobie didn't have a leap of faith in his "intro" thing."

"Everyone's got their own thing, mate," the other ( Y/N ) shrugged. "Why do you want to be apart of this stuff?"

"I don't," ( Y/N ) stated firmly, glancing at the folded paper in pocket. "Gwen told me I have to come because it's important and Miles really wants to be here. I just... I just don't wanna lose anyone else — don't..."

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone," the other ( Y/N ) put her hands up in defense. "I get it, I'm literally you."

Being them, Hobie ripped some more parts off the wall. "Looking out for my drummers and girlfriend, is all."

"I don't want to be in a band," Miles stated. "I... I want to see my friends and I need a watch to do that."

"Guys, come on," Gwen calls out.

"Alright, squashed," Hobie moved behind Miles. "Just don't enlist until you know about who you're fighting with."

Once they arrived, they saw a hatch coming down slowly with blue light gleaming down from the window. Standing on the hatch was a muscular man in a blue and red spider suit. Miles and ( Y/N ) frowned at how slow it was, singalong to Gwen who quickly shushed them.

"I know, it's slow," Gwen whispered. "It's his thing. Miguel O'Hara, meet Miles Morales and ( Y/N ) Chase."

Miles laughed. "Hey! ¿Que tal, tio? I speak Spanish," a bright smile formed on Miles's features as he pulled out a box of food from the cafeteria. "Te traje una empanada-"

Before he could finish, Miguel turned around with bright red webs shooting out of his hands. He took the box of food right out of Miles's hands and threw it right to the ground. "Qué maravilla."

"Mashallah," ( Y/N ) sighed, slowly stepping forward at the sight of him like she was in a trance.

Miles deadpanned, shooting a web at her back and pulling her back. "Oh, right — boyfriend."

"Who's right here," Miles signaled to himself before readjusting himself. "That's not — Uh... me and ( N/N ) are really excited to get going. We got some..."

"Why are you including me in this?" ( Y/N ) mouthed.

"Oh? Great..." Miguel smiled through his gritted teeth, feeling his rage rising by the minute.

Miles stepped forward. "...fresh new ideas on how to catch the Spot."

The smile on Miguel's features shifted into a smirk stating he was annoyed, and rolled his shoulders slowly, nodding his head in fake agreement. "Oh, wow! Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh," he threw a garbage bin down at them with a grunt.

"Whoa!"

"He's worried about the Spot," Miguel grumbled to himself, before pointing to his chest and yelling at the kids. "I'll worry about the Spot!"

Miles felt a little offended and Gwen went to the teens's defense. "Miguel, it's not their fault!"

"You blew another whole in the multiverse!"

"He doesn't know any better," Gwen added.

"I do know— what... uhh, not know," Miles stuttered.

( Y/N ) watched as Miguel took one glance her, a look of recognition flashed on his features. She wouldn't know how he knew her, but the multiverse was real so she's just gonna stop asking questions.

Miguel pointed at Gwen. "But you did, Gwen," his eyes drifted over to Hobie, who was chilling on the other side, while the other ( Y/N ) leaned against the wall near him, her arms crossed against her chest. "And you two... I'm gonna try and ignore you two. I can't..."

Hobie lifted his right leg over the other one. "I'm not even here."

"What's happening?" Miles frowned in confusion.

"I don't know, but I'm loving it," ( Y/N ) whispered, still staring up at Miguel, getting a look from Miles.

It was silent for the most part, in an uncomfortable way, but it was soon broken by a familiar voice of an old friend; Peter B. Parker. "Hey, Miguel! Come on, go easy on the kid. He had a terrible teacher!"

Peter B. Parker was hanging upside down along the roof, wearing a pink robe over his spider-suit, with a dark blue baby sling on his stomach and around his shoulders; he flipped right sight up, placing a hand on the roof, wiping off some food from his suit. "He had no chance, ( Y/N ) maybe."

"Peter!" Miles and ( Y/N ) exclaimed.

"Oh boy! Humbling reality Spiderman has arrived," Hobie said in a sarcastic tone, earning a jab in the ribs from the other his reality's ( Y/N ).

"Miles! ( Y/N )!"

Peter embraced Miles in a hug and then let go, his hands still on Miles's shoulders with a bright smile. "Don't be afraid of my friend Miguel, he just looks scary. He's got no bite."

He then went to ( Y/N ), wrapping his arms around the figure in a fatherly embrace; a much needed one, both of them for the same reasons. They all know Peter's ( Y/N ) died, so a visit was much needed, for both of them.

"Nice to see you," Peter smiled. "Look at you two! You're growing up on me! You look great kids!"

"Eh... you look solid. Y'know? You look good," Miles fumbled for a compliment, and patted Peter's shoulders after he let go of ( Y/N ).

"Define solid," Peter mused and gently fist bumping the boy, he then lifted up Miles's arms to see his new suit design. "What happened? You bleeding from the armpits?"

"Peter, you..."

"( Y/N )? Do you have a suit?" Peter questioned.

( Y/N ) pouted. "No. It's stuck in another dimension 'cause that stupid Nick Fury wouldn't let me keep it!"

"Don't know who Nick Fury is, but we'll make ya one," Peter chuckled.

Her eyes than drifted to the baby sling around him, widening in surprise. "Hold up. You're seeing this, too. Right, Miles—"

Then, a small figure with red curly hair flew across the room and onto the wall. The child squealed in excitement as she flipped onto the ceiling.

"You have a baby!" Miles gasped.

"I have a baby," Peter repeats his words in confirmation, squeezing Miles's shoulder with a gentle smile. "Don't forget to keep your little day pass on, honey!"

His eyes then drifted to Miles and ( Y/N ). "Hey, you guys have one two. I didn't know they made those for adults. Hold on, a sec. Mayday!"

In the back, Hobie looked up at Mayday with a light smile. "Kid's an anarchist."

"Peter followed Mayday up to the roof and eventually got her, hanging upside down. "Ha! I knew I was gonna regret making her that web shooter," the two were upside down. "I shouldn't have done that it was an actually mistake."

Mayday fell out of the sling and Peter swung down to catch her. A bright smile formed on his features. "You wanna see pictures?"

"I mean, she's right there, so..."

"Look at this pic!"

Peter wrapped his arm around Miles, Gwen and ( Y/N ) as he showed his camera roll full of photos of Mayday. "Oh! You got... okay, wow."

"Um, wow." ( Y/N ) chuckled nervously.

"Look at this special kid! Oh, she's incredible!"

"Mm-hmm."

"That's her mad face. This one is the studious one," Peter listed off.

Peter swiped through his camera roll showing various photos of Mayday. One photo showed them visiting his ( Y/N )'s grave which he quickly swiped passed. Miles and ( Y/N ) turned to each other awkwardly, shrugging.

"Watch out, the next one, you're gonna crack up! You're gonna crack up," Peter chuckled. "Oh, Miguel's gonna die."

Peter shot a web up to the ceiling and and swung to where Miguel was standing. Mayday was sitting on his shoulder, before crawling to this other side.

"Miguel, look at this one!"

"I'm trying to hold a serious adult conversation," Miguel stated.

"You know, you're the only Spider-Man who isn't funny," Peter said as Mayday crawled around Miguel and over to his other shoulder. "We're supposed to be funny!"

"The fate of the multiverse—"

Peter groaned at the response. "You always lose me with that! You say: the fate of the multiverse and my brain dies!"

Miguel held his arms with Mayday in his hands, out to Peter, signaling for him to take Mayday back. The smile on Peter's features fell, smelling something coming from Mayday.

"You guys smell that? Mayday took a crap," Peter sighed as he swung back over to them. "She's a Parker. That's what happens when a Parker eats an avocado."

"Miles. You'd disrupted a canon event," Miguel informed him.

"Canon event?"

Peter quickly came to Miles's defense, still behind with Mayday. "The kid wasn't thinking! That's not how he works!"

"That's insulting,"

In the corner, Hobie held Mayday in one arm and made a two fingered salute in the other. "Taking a crap on the establishment, I salute you."

"Come on, you little anarchist," the other ( Y/N ) chuckled, taking Mayday in her arms using her web shooters as Hobie wrapped an arm around her with a smile.

"What are you talking about? I saved those people," Miles defended.

Miguel leaped down. "And that's the problem. Lyla, do the thing."

Lyla's hologram appeared besides him, frowning in confusion. "Huh? What thing?"

"What- what do you mean what thing? The information explaining thing!"

"...Okay," Lyla trailed off.

She raised her arms and made everything in the room disappear, one single dot of light darkening the empty space. The dot flew down, flickering right in front of Miles.

"What's this?" Miles questioned.

His scarlet eyes drifted down from the light, answering, "This... is everything."

The light plopped down on the floor like a raindrop, causing a ripple effect; a hologram of a blue tree, sprouting from the floor with many different branches.

( Y/N ) a tilted her head, frowning in confusion. "Can you be a little more specific?"

"Can you not talk for a second?" He asked in a sarcastic tone, raising her eyebrows at her with a roguish smile.

"Yeah — yeah."

"This here..." as the tree disintegrated, orange lines crisscrossed around the room, weaving like a spider's web. "This is all of us. All of our lives woven together, in the beautiful web of life and destiny."

Miles gasped. "The Spider-Verse."

"Spider-Verse? Huh," Miguel repeated with big eyes, looking to the other side of the room. "It's called the Arachno-Humanoid Poly-Multiverse... which sounds stupid too, I guess."

A light smirk formed on Miles's features as he looked back at one of the webs. "And these nodes, where the minds converge?"

"They are the canon. Chapters in every spider's story, every time," Miguel explained as he stood behind Miles. "Some good, some bad — some very bad."

Miguel moved a small object, moving all the webs down with them. Then, he showed a line of Peter's and other spider-man sitting above the dead body's of loved ones, all leading up to Miles and Uncle Aaron.

"Uncle Aaron," Miles muttered.

"This one, event ASM-90," Miguel motioned to a web hologram showing a man in a red suit rushing over to rescue a child. "A police captain close to spider-man dies. Saving a kid from falling rubble during a battle with an arch-nemesis."

Another hologram appeared with a Spider-Man hugging Captain Stacy's dead body, sobbing softly over his death. ( Y/N )'s heart ached for all of the spider-men who she saw, not knowing every time they tried to save someone; it was set in stone that they couldn't do anything about it.

The duo looked around them as they watched the spider-men turn away from the holograms and images of their fallen loved ones. ( Y/N ) caught a glimpse of the other ( Y/N )'s eyes turn glassy from fighting back tears. She then caught her glimpse, blinking and the emotion was gone within a second.

"What about it?" The other ( Y/N ) shrugged as Hobie placed an arm around her.

"That's how the story's supposed to go," Miguel's tone softened as he motioned to the holograms around the room. "Canon events are the connections that bind our lives together. And those connections can be broken."

Miguel sighed as his eyes drifted away from the holograms to Miles to continue explaining. "That's why anomalies... are so dangerous. Gayatri Singh's death was a canon event," a new hologram began to appear behind him. "You weren't supposed to be there, you weren't supposed to help Pav save her."

The hologram grew around the room to see the bridge collapsing as Gayatri was stuck on the bus, while Pav was trying to hold onto her. It then showed Miles being stopped by ( Y/N ), who was then being stopped by Gwen. "That's why Gwen tried to stop you."

"I thought you were trying to save me?" Miles breathed out, glancing at ( Y/N ).

"I didn't know — I didn't..." ( Y/N )'s voice cracked, trailing off.

"And now, Miles because you changed the story, Pavitr's dimension is unraveling," Miguel walked forward and showed a hologram of the hole appearing in Pav's dimension, glitching all over. "If we're lucky, we can stop it. We haven't always been lucky."

Miles looked around before pointing to himself and then the hologram. "That — that wasn't me. That was the Spot."

"That's what happens when you break the canon," Miguel stated, stepping towards Miles.

"How do you know?" Miles questioned.

"Because I broke it once myself," he replied as a hologram of the other dimension appeared. "I found another world where I had a family. Where I was happy. At least, another version of me was. And that version of myself was killed, so I replaced him. I thought it was harmless, but I was wrong."

Another hologram appeared of people running and screaming as buildings glitched away into nothing — and so did they. One Spider-Man tried helping a woman up, but she faded away with the others. Miles and ( Y/N ) looked at the hologram in complete terror, but then Miguel appeared in the hologram with a little girl in his arms that looked just like ( Y/N ).

( Y/N )'s eyes widened seeing her other self glitch away into nothing as Miguel stood, staring down at his empty hands; frozen. Besides him, was Peter B. Parker and a few other spider-men.

"Isn't that right, Peter?"

"Yeah."

"You break enough canon, save enough ( Y/N )'s, we could lose everything."

The holograms of the webs started to break off of one another, flowing down below Miles like snow. ( Y/N ) couldn't believe it, starting to put everything together, she was going to die. That's why Gwen brought her here; to let her know. It's not like she could do anything about it, she okay with it.

Silence filled the room as the spider-men all glanced at Miles. Miles's breathing was picking up as he felt his spider-senses appear. He placed his hands on his head, scrunching his eyes shut.

( Y/N ) slowly stepped forward. "Miles?"

A new vision appeared into view. He saw the Spot in Brooklyn, forming holes as he threw objects from the city into them which caused an explosion. Then the same vision of ( Y/N ) falling off a crumbling building as people run below, trying to avoid the rubble.

"I'm going to take everything from you," the Spot stated. "Just like you took everything from me."

His eyes shot open with a gasp, panting for breathe, his eyes drifting to ( Y/N ) then back at the floor. "The Spot does it. He kills her."

"When does it happen?"

Miguel didn't answer, instead looking down at the floor. Miles's eyes then drifted to the other spider-men, hoping he could get an answer from them. "When does it happen?"

"In two days," Miguel finally answered.

"That's what the model says," Lyla added, giving ( Y/N ) a sorrowful glance.

"I'm sorry, Miles."

"Send us home," Miles demanded.

"I can't do that,"

( Y/N ) turned to Gwen. "This is why you wanted to see me?"

"I... I thought you should know," Gwen sighed, looking down, thinking of her ( Y/N ).

"What am I supposed to do? Just let her die?" Miles yelled, turning to ( Y/N ). "( Y/N ), you're okay with this?!"

( Y/N ) only glanced up at him with her arms crossed against her chest, giving him a shrug in response. Miles gave her the same sorrowful look Lyla did before turning to Gwen.

"What about your ( Y/N )? You two got back together, right?"

"...Yeah."

"And that's it? You just aren't gonna do anything about it?" Miles snapped. "Okay, what about Uncle Ben? That have been okay if you knew and you — you just let it play out?"

Peter placed a hand on Miles's shoulder with a light smile as he turned to the hologram of webs. "If not for Uncle Ben, most of us wouldn't be here, Miles. And all the good we did, it... it wouldn't have been done."

"So we're supposed to let people die," Miles moved Peter's hand off his shoulders. "Because some algorithm says that that's supposed to happen?"

Miles didn't even realize the majority of the spider society began to surround him, closing off any escape route if he had any plans to flee.

"You have a choice between saving one person and saving en entire world, every world," Miguel informed.

"I can do both!" Miles stated. "Spider-Man always..."

"Not always," Peter cut him off. Miles turned to face Peter who gave him a sad glance, making it clear in Miles's mind that Peter wasn't on his side.

Miguel placed a hand on Miles's shoulder to turn him around. "Miles, we all want to live the life we wish we had. Believe me, I have tried. And the harder I tried, the more damage I did."

"You can't have it all, kid."

As Miles stepped back, he noticed the group of spider-men starting to close in on him. The feeling of betrayal washes over him like a wave; his friends weren't on his side — ( Y/N ) didn't have much time left, everything was falling apart.

"Behind Spider-Man is a sacrifice," Miguel continued. "That's the job. That's what you signed up for."

"Miles, ( Y/N )," the familiar voice spoke from the crowd.

( Y/N ) noticed from her spot besides Peter and Gwen a new robot as it lifted its helmet to reveal Peni, a little older was inside. She was different, like, really different. Peni didn't have her usual beaming smile or energetic persona ( Y/N ) and Miles saw when they all met.

"Peni?" Miles and ( Y/N ) asked in disbelief.

"What is this?" Miles furrowed his eyebrows. "Is this an intervention or something?"

"We know it's hard, but it's the truth, Miles," a spider-man thwt was a little smaller with a bright red and blue suit spoke up in the crowd.

Miles turned to Peter. "Is that why you're here? To let me down easy?"

"It worked last time," Miles added. "Why not run it back, huh?"

Peter raised his hands up to try and calm him down. "Hey, hold on, hold on,"

"You were right, Gwen. You should've never come to see me," Miles's tone was laced with venom.

"Kid—"

"Stop calling me that,"

"There we go," Hobie gave a nod of approval.

Jess frowned at him. "Hobie, you're not helping."

"Good."

"Miles, please understand..."

"You can't ask me not to save my girlfriend,"

"I'm not asking,"

Just then, Miguel slid a device under Miles and a red forcefield cage appeared from under him, trapping him inside. The other spider-men began arguing with Miguel as ( Y/N ) walked up to him, placing her palms on the cage. "Miles! It's gonna be okay!"

"What the bloody hell was that for, O'Hara?" The other ( Y/N ) snapped.

Hobie stepped forward, putting his palms up at Miles. Then, Miles's eyes drifted to Miguel who was starting to walk away. Miguel calling him kid pushed him, placing his palms at the cage, electrics sparks coming from his hands. "I said not to call me that!"

The action sent a massive wave of electricity across the room, causing the spiders and ( Y/N ) to move back. In the back of the room, Hobie smirked proudly at him.

Everyone in the room was silent, Miles looked up to see them all on the floor. Miles didn't waste one second to run and never look back. Miguel got up, seeing this and began trailing behind him.

"Miles!"
