"OH YOU weren't kidding about the fit" matt walks out of his house chuckling.
im wearing a cropped white shirt with speak now written across it. along with a purple bow in my hair. im taking today seriously, im happy and nothing can ruin it.
"today is just the best day of my life" i shrug.
matt unlocks the car and i hop into the passenger seat. matt opens his door as i plug my phone in and open spotify. i select long live and press play. today we are playing nothing but speak now.
"we haven't even left the driveway and you're already playing taylor swift." he gives me a what the fuck look and proceeds to back out of the driveway.
"matt you just dont understand. today is all about taylor."
"i dont think i will make it through today then." he laughs.
the rest of the car ride was spent in random conversations and a lot of laughter.

ME AND matt going to the mall alone honestly wasn't the best idea. the amount of anxiety in the atmosphere is astronomical. the feeling of being surrounded by so many people and not knowing what could possibly happen next is horrifying.
especially when it come to talking to employees or meeting fans. i freeze up because i just feel awkward and like i sound stupid, then i overthink that they thought i was being rude or something.
its just too much.
i think matt doing a little better than i am. he looks perfectly fine, like hes just somehow unaffected right now.
meanwhile im biting my nails into bits and pieces as i quickly look through the clothing racks hoping the an employee doesn't try to make conversion with me.
"emmy? you okay?" matt asks, recognizing how anxious i am.
leaving the rack he was at, matt walks over to me. he moves the hair out of my face and tucks it behind my ear. my heart skips a beat.
"uh.. yeah, im just a little anxious but i'll be okay" i look matt in the eyes and give him a reassuring smile. then continue to pull out a top that i had thought looked cute online but i just need to see it in person.
"hey, how does this look?" i hold it up to my body waiting for answer.
"uh.." he's struggling to say something as he stares at me.
"okay so its ugly." i huff, putting the top back onto the clothing rack.
"no, em, it looks perfect on you." he grabs the hanger and puts back in my hands. "now go try it on, you'll love it for sure if you don't already."
"ok good because i really wanted to get this." i say walking off into towards the area labled changing rooms.
