Your best friend Abigail brushed her hand across your back in comfort.
It's been a rough few days that you've spent mostly in bed, crying your eyes out over the fact that your recent relationship had come to an end.
It was a bad breakup and has left you feeling heartbroken, almost as if there's a hole in your heart that might never heal.
Abigail has been by your side through it all.
The moment you called her telling her that you and your girlfriend ended things, she dropped everything and came over to comfort you.
She hasn't seen you like this before and it's breaking her heart.
"Can I get you anything?" She asked, only for you to shake your head. "Come on, Y/N. We need to get you out of bed and back into the world again."
"I don't want to." You mumbled and dropped her hand as she grabbed it.
You appreciate her being here for you, you truly do.
It's just that you don't have the energy to do much after spending so long hurting and wallowing in your shattered heart.
"I'll be right back, okay?" She said before getting up and leaving the room.
You and Abigail have been friends for some time now and she knows how much you adore Taylor.
Of course, that's not the reason at all that you became friends with Abigail in the first place but rather the bond that you both have over the same interests.
But you did make it clear that you're a huge fan of Taylor and she wasn't surprised by that at all.
You haven't met Taylor before but Abigail was determined to change that.
She knows that if you met Taylor, it would help cheer you up, and right now, as one of your closest friends, that's all she wants for you.
She grabbed her phone and placed it against her ear as she called Taylor.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Taylor. How are you doing today?"
"Good! I've got a couple of days off so I'm just playing with the cats."
"That's cool," Abigail replied. "Are you busy right now?"
"No, why?"
"I have a friend who is going through a terrible breakup right now who is a huge fan of yours. I haven't ever seen her this way before. She has barely left the bed since everything ended. I was wondering if you'd feel up to meeting her. She looks up to you a lot and you two have a lot in common as well. If you'd be up for it, I think it would mean the world to her."
"Sure, I'd be happy to," Taylor said cheerfully. "Just send me her address and I'll head over."
Abigail thanked her before ending the call and sending Taylor your address.
"Okay, come on. Out of bed!" Abigail spoke as she entered your bedroom.
"I'm sleeping."
"You can sleep later. Someone's coming over, so get ready."
"What? Who did you invite over?" You asked before going wide-eyed. "Please tell me you didn't contact my ex! I know I've been devastated about everything but I don't want to make up with her."
"No, not your ex, don't worry." Abigail chuckled. "But you will like this person. So get up, get dressed, brush your hair. She'll be here soon!"
You dragged yourself out of bed and took a quick shower and after, you got dressed and brushed your hair and your teeth.
When you were finished, you heard a knock at the door and you watched as Abigail's eyes lit up.
"She's here!" Abigail excitedly said as she pulled you down the stairs with her.
"Please tell me you're not trying to set me up with someone already."
"Not exactly. But who knows, maybe you'll hit it off with her." She grinned before opening the door.
And your jaw dropped when you saw Taylor Swift entering your house.
"Taylor, thanks for coming!" Abigail said as she gave her a quick hug.
"No problem at all." Taylor smiled.
They pulled away and looked over at you and as soon as you locked eyes with Taylor's beautiful blue ones, you became weak in the knees.
"Y/N, this is Taylor. Taylor, this is Y/N." Abigail introduced.
Taylor gave you a hug and you felt all of the sadness you felt fade away, replaced with a feeling of pure happiness.
"It's so nice to meet you, Y/N." Taylor smiled.
"Come on, let's all sit down," Abigail said and you all entered the living room.
Abigail sat in a chair across the room while you and Taylor sat on the sofa.
"Abigail tells me you're a huge fan of mine," Taylor said.
"I am! I love your music so much."
"Thank you!" She smiled brightly. "I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I know how hard breakups can be."
"Yeah." You quietly spoke as you stared at your lap. "We weren't together for too long, just a couple of months. But she meant a lot to me."
Taylor gently placed her hand on your shoulder in comfort.
"I'm so sorry." She said. "It sounds cheesy but it will get better. I promise, someday, you'll find someone better. Someone that loves you and cares about you and doesn't ever want to let you go. You'll find the one, I promise."
Your heart was pounding against your chest.
Not out of nerves or of a rush of the situation but rather from her touch.
Even though having Abigail by your side has been a huge help over the last few rough days, you already felt better because of Taylor.
Your eyes met and you watched as hers lit up.
"Taylor?"
Taylor looked at Abigail as her friend spoke her name.
"Her ex broke up with her because she had fallen out of love with Y/N and found someone better," Abigail spoke and Taylor's jaw hit the floor in shock.
"What? That's crazy!" Taylor said as she looked at you. "Better than you? She's gotta be blind."
You chuckled over Taylor's words.
"You deserve so much better than that. Don't cry over her. It sounds to me like she did you a favor." Taylor told you. "I mean, I know we haven't known each other for too long but better than you? I don't think that's even possible."
Abigail watched from across the room with a bright smile.
She was watching you and Taylor hit things off.
She saw something more than just being friends between you.
Of course, it was still early and your breakup wasn't long ago, but she knows you deserve better than your ex and Taylor is exactly everything you need.
You two have so much in common and you seem to be hitting it off well.
And Abigail swore that she saw sparks flying between you already.
"No, don't waste another tear on her. Be thankful because she's letting you move on from her. You're going to find someone that treats you like a queen. She sounds like she couldn't treat you that way."
"I know someone that could and would," Abigail spoke up, looking between the two of you.
"Are you trying to set us up?" You asked.
"What? No." Abigail lied. "But, I mean, if it happens then I wouldn't complain."
Taylor shook her head with a smile.
"Has she tried to set you up before?" You asked Taylor.
"No. You're the first."
"Because I know you both very well. You'd be the perfect person for each other."
"Don't get carried away. She's still reeling from a breakup." Taylor chuckled.
"This is the happiest I've ever seen her," Abigail said as they both looked at you. "I see that smile and that sparkle in your eyes. I think she might already be falling."
"Alright." You chuckled.
"Look, we don't have to rush into anything, even if people might want us to. We can be friends and if something happens, then it happens." Taylor told you. "Right now, you need to focus on yourself. Don't be too quick to jump into another relationship."
You nodded.
"Tell me more about yourself." Taylor smiled as she stared at you, her own heart pounding against her chest as she started to fall for you.
She didn't say anything because she knows your breakup is still new.
But she can't deny that the minute she saw you, she was head over heels.
And hearing you tell her more about yourself just made her fall even harder.
And she wondered if you felt the same.
Only time would tell but she hoped that, someday, she'd be able to call you hers.
