Wednesday had been trying to focus on writing her novel for a while now but ideas eluded her. She was feeling frustrated, annoyed and couldn't pinpoint why and to top it all off, her eye felt warm and was throbbing. There were only 3 more days until they were expected back at Nevermore, and she would never admit she was anticipating being back in her shared room with...Enid... She would NEVER be caught dead admitting she missed the werewolf's colorful and bubbly demeanor...Why was she even thinking about this right now? Enid was in the same house she was in at the moment, it was ridiculous.

She got up letting out a frustrated huff...she paced in her room, she needed to get rid of...whatever she was...feeling...maybe she was...hungry? She could still hear noise coming from the first floor which was unfortunate but decided to go down either way. She had managed to change into something more comfortable, a black hoodie, a plain white t-shirt, dark gray sweatpants, and a pair of black sneakers. She looked at herself in the mirror and her black eye was there bright as day... She tilted her head and let a soft smile reach her lips, "Enid did this...I shall...don it with pride..."

She marched out of her room and down to the kitchen. On her way there, she passed the living room and saw Bianca and Divina, there was no sign of Yoko or Enid... They waved at her smiling knowingly, she frowned and gave them a single wave as she walked to the opposite side of the room. As she walked away she could hear Bianca ask Divina, "What's up with her eye?"

"Beats me! I hadn't noticed before...was it black a while ago?" Divina pondered.

Wednesday was glad she hadn't stayed to talk with them, she wasn't in the mood for explanations.  She opened the kitchen door and there they were, sitting on the ground, eating ice cream straight out of their containers.

"Tanaka, Sinclair..." She saluted stiffly. "Pay me no attention, I am just here for something to eat." Wednesday was craving something sweet, she decided to have some toast with honey. "Tanaka...Yoko, do you happen to have any honey?"

"Yeah, it's in the top cabinet on the right." She mentioned, licking her spoon. "It's actually from one of our hives, I can take you there one of these days if you like?" She added and paused to stare, "Woah! What happened to your eye?!" She questioned, "Please don't tell me you dungeons alone..."

"Uhm...not yet...Also, I have not forgotten your offer to take me there." She said frowning. "...This is Enid's doing...she elbowed me in the face..." Replied Wednesday with a scowl.

"The fuck Pup! Why the heck would you do that? I thought Addams was your friend..." Yoko said snickering.

"I...No! It was an accident... Wends got on me from behind...and I panicked!...Enid said in a rush, blushing profusely.

Yoko's jaw dropped to the floor, "...Please...don't...I...no!" They were spared further embarrassment when Bianca barged into the kitchen.

"Uhm?...Yoko..." Bianca asked, a slight alarm in her tone. "Div went to the bathroom and uhm...I think she got lost...I just heard a soft scream coming from down the hall..."

"DOWN THE HALL?!" Yoko exclaimed. "SHIT!" She ran out of the kitchen pulling Bianca by the arm.

Enid was a bit shaken and blushing hard by the abrupt encounter.

Wednesday just shrugged at her and went to open the top cabinet in search of the honey jar. She found it a little bit deeper than expected so she stretched on her tiptoes, her face scrunching up in concentration. Just as she was about to grasp the jar at the edge of the cabinet it slipped...and as fast as that happened she felt a gush of air and a body pressed up against her...Enid's hand wrapped over her's, both catching the jar before it actually fell...

Wednesday looked back at Enid and their eyes lock for a brief moment, both surprised by the sudden physical connection...Their faces flushed with a tinge of embarrassment once more as they set the honey jar down and withdrew their hands, mirroring each other's movements...They both let go of a suppressed breath they were apparently holding and backed away swiftly.

"...sorry..." Enid said shyly, looking at Wednesday's face and then down at her shoes.

"...No harm done..." Wednesday's heart was racing and her face flushed with a splash of color. She tried to shake it off by heading for the bread that was on the kitchen counter.

Enid didn't know what to do with herself...there was the soft smell of jasmines and dark chocolate again, it was so alluring, she needed to get a grip so she went to put the now melting ice cream away and sat at the table, staring right at the center of it. She couldn't move nor did she want to and hoped Wednesday couldn't see the very red blush on her cheeks and ears.

Wednesday's heart was still in a frenzy, skipping a beat now and then. She was sure this was due to some heart problem...She would have to consult that with her mother later. She took the bread, put some in the toaster, and waited. Her back pressed against the kitchen counter, staring straight ahead of her.

The toast popping up made Enid jump...*gasp* "Shit! That scared me!" vividly taken aback and clutching her chest.

Wednesday couldn't hold back a chuckle, "God Sinclair, you really are a puppy in a human body..."

Enid's ears perked, she had NEVER heard Wednesday chuckle and now she was adding it to her top favorite sounds...She wondered what other sounds she could elicit out of Wednesday, blushing a deeper shade of red...

Wednesday grabbed the honey jar and toast and walked to the table. She sat down next to Enid and attempted to open the jar, which unfortunately wasn't budging... "May I?" Enid asked timidly, holding out her hand for Wednesday to give her the jar. Wednesday hated help but for some unknown reason and almost automatically, she gave Enid the jar.

Enid gave her a tentative smile and opened the jar with ease. "Here you go..." She handed it back to Wednesday.

"I see you are useful after all..." The sly remark came out softer than Wednesday intended, like a whisper even. What was happening to her? She grabbed a toast in order to distract herself and started to spread honey on it. "Would you care for one?" She asked Enid to which she nodded. Wednesday handed her a warm toast with honey, her perfectly steady hand betraying her, having the slightest unperceivable shake.

Enid took the toast and bit into it, it was nice, warm, and very delicious. She loved the delightful contrast of textures and flavors. The slightly crisp exterior of the toast yielded to a tender, fluffy interior, while the smooth, honey glazed her tongue, leaving a lingering sweetness behind. The combination of textures and flavors created a delightful mouthfeel, making each bite a moment to savor. "It tastes amazing..." She said closing her eyes and savoring every bite.

"It does..." Wednesday was mesmerized by Enid's way of enjoying the simplest taste of a toast with honey. She was fully staring at her at this point...Enid hadn't noticed because her eyes were still closed. Then Wednesday realized a bit of honey dripping on the side of Enid's mouth...she unconsciously reached out and wiped it delicately with her thumb...Everything froze yet again...

Enid stopped chewing when she felt the softest touch on her lip, it was warm and feather-light, she opened her eyes and looked for the source of said touch...but as fleeting as it came, she was gone...

Wednesday slid down the closed door of her room... "I must be going mad..." she whispered to herself. "Yes, that must be it...definitely... " Her hands felt clammy, cold and they were shaking, her heart was beating hard and fast against her chest... "I had forgotten I had...you..." She sneered looking down at where her heart was... She hugged her knees in an attempt to calm down, she bent forward letting her forehead hit her knees..."I have to get whatever this is out of my system...fast..." She wondered if the honey she ate had been poisoned or maybe she had been bitten by one of the scorpions she had dug up... She couldn't pinpoint what it was so she decided to call her mother.

"Mother..." She exhaled. "I am afraid I have come down with something I cannot identify..."

Morticia paid close attention to her daughter's words. "What are you feeling, mi tormenta?"

"My hands are clammy, cold and have the slightest shake to them...my heart feels like it wants to jump out of my chest, beating hard and fast...and I feel...as if I had eaten a dozen spiders...am I dying mother?" Wednesday asked a bit panicked though no one would ever know.

"Oh my dear tormenta, what were you doing when you started feeling this way? Had you perhaps been experimenting with any toxic plant or poison? I know you are immune to most of these but maybe something..." wondered Morticia.

"I...I was in the kitchen...eating toast and honey..." Wednesday answered quickly.

"Was there anyone with you? Someone who could have tampered with the honey maybe?" Morticia asked.

"...Enid...and Yoko were there when I arrived...Yoko left briefly...leaving Enid and I alone...I do not think they had the time to tamper with the honey while I was there or beforehand for that matter..." Wednesday remembered.

At this Morticia wondered, "Wednesday darling...if not poisoned, I believe you have fallen for the oldest and most powerful curse that could ever fall upon an Addams..."

This newfound information didn't sit well with Wednesday... "This cannot be it, Mother! It is impossible! My whole life...I have done everything in my power to avoid...THAT curse...No! I cannot accept this...it mostly likely is poison..."

"Mi querida tormenta..." Morticia's voice was as soft as ever. "There's no running from this curse, for once it falls upon an Addams, we are bound to endure it for life...It will grow...and consume you...you know this cariño."

Wednesday was sweating cold...Why her? Why now? Damned Addams curse, which she did know was as old as time... "...Is there...anything I can do...to stop it...?" Her throat suddenly very dry.

"I'm afraid, not cariño..." Morticia paused, pondering for a moment. "Does...Enid feel the same way towards you?"

Wednesday went wide eye, her hands shaking again. "...I...You...knew...?"

"I...might have had a vision..." Morticia smiled at the memory. "...You both looked very beautiful...I hadn't seen you as happy as I had in my vision...But that is a story for another day my dear..."

"...I...I do not know mother...How does one know...these things?" Wednesday was completely lost in this topic, she had read and informed herself as best as she could but nothing prepared her for actually living through it.

Morticia let a soft giggle leave her lips. "There are subtle signs...you would have to focus your attention and inquisitive manner in trying to identify said signs, mi tormenta...Also, you are your father's daughter, once you adapt to the curse, it will flow out of you and you will be able to see these not-so-subtle signs..."

Wednesday had a lot to process, "...Mother, I have a lot to think about...May you have a dreadful night..."

"Terrible dreams cariño. Do not forget you will always have our devoted support. Give dear Enid my regards will you..."

Wednesday hung up the phone, this was going to be a long night...She sat on the floor until her legs felt numb. Then she got up abruptly and fumbled towards her typewriter...She had to write...Wiritng would get these...feelings out of her system...
