AN: I've noticed a lot of my imagines are starting to get repetitive, so updates might be slower from now on as I think of different ideas.
Also, I hope you all enjoy this final part, just another note that the plot differs from the game slightly!♡
------------------------------------------------------------
After Luis left us, Leon and I began our journey through the villages and structures, fighting people and odd monsters along the way. Usually Leon would handle them easily as I stayed back, only helping when it didn't guarantee me another body to my rapidly growing kill count. When we weren't fighting for our lives we'd talk about general things, hobbies and our favourite movies, family and future plans. I noticed Leon and I were pretty similar, not just in our common interests but personalities, we'd both make stupid jokes and somehow understood each other without even speaking, working together in a team as Luis took his time telling Leon about the lab.
I wanted the corridors of the castle trailing Leon as he searches for a way out. A noise behind me captures my attention, and I spin around, grabbing a sword from one of the nearby knights. Leon rushes towards me, stepping in front of me as a nearby door bursts open and people trail out, not looking as dumb as the villagers we've been fighting, these people look infected but more high tech, wielding electrical weapons. I glance at Leon, my hands sweaty from the weight of the sword, I plant my feet a little wider as the people begin their attack.
I try and use the sword, swinging it as Leon shoots. The blade slices through flesh but not deep enough to cut off limbs, I strain from the effort, sweat coats my skin as I grow weaker and weaker. Since I learned of my infection and the Plaga inside of me, I've been getting sicker and sicker. My arms stiffen until I drop the sword, and all I can do is back away but even then I can't seem to move my feet.
Leon freezes, grunting as he turns and tries to reach me, but it's like we're frozen.
"Foolish lambs." A voice says from inside of my head. I try my best to move, but I can't. Leon's eyes find mine, for once he looks frantic, even scared as he keeps trying to reach me.
The people stop their attacks and walk towards me, grabbing my arms as they pull me away from Leon. A shrill noise rises out of my throat as I attempt to call for Leon, to resist and do something. But my feet move on their own accord, as if I'm being controlled.
"No." Leon grunts out, his brows more furrowed than usual, his hands shake mid-air as if he's desperately trying to fight back. Tears line my eyes as I round the corner, as soon as I do my vision goes black and then nothing.
...................................................
Everything hurts. My eyes feel glued shut. My wrists sting from the bindings and my shoulders ache from the uncomfortable potion I'm lying in. From what I can gather after being captured from the castle I drifted in and out of consciousness, only seeing glimpses of people watching me and carrying me, forcing me to drink something disgusting and then throwing me in this room, placing me on this bed as if they're only just going for the comfort angle.
Heads up, it doesn't work.
I don't know how much time has elapsed since I last saw Leon. My heart races even though I'm drowsy, I wonder if Leon's okay, or if he's even still alive.
My eyes fall shut yet again, but when I wake up I'm not alone. "Y/N, wake up!
Y/N!" Leon calls from above, I gasp and force my eyes open, but as soon as I look up there's nobody there. Great, now I'm going crazy.
With defeat I slump my shoulders, waiting for the inevitable. Turns out it doesn't take long, my eyes stay closed as the door to the room opens, and footsteps rush towards me.
"Y/N?" Leon murmurs, I whimper as I feel a sharp metallic sting on my neck, and seconds later my ache and pain disappears. I open my eyes to find Leon kneeling over me, his face full of concern. When his eyes meet mine a small smile tilts his lips. "Hey," he softly says, "still hanging in there?"
I lick my dry lips and nod as his hands find my ties and cut them. I sit up and rub my sore wrists, frowning as Leon lets out a noise of pain and clutches his head. I dart forward, and pull him onto the bed with me as he shudders and passes out, his head falling onto my lap. I stare down, to weak to move yet, so I grab his gun and reload then rest my other hand on his head, stroking his hair soothingly as I wait for him to wake.
Around half an hour later Leon comes around, groaning before sitting up rigidly, his eyes scanning the room. I grab his hand as he turns to me, then unexpectedly he throws his arm around me and pulls me to his chest. "I'm so fucking glad to see you." He mumbles as I hug him back, I smile and stand, holding out a hand for him to take.
"Thank you for rescuing me this time."
Leon's lips tilt up, "This time?" He asks playfully, "So what, did last time not count?"
I shake my head as we begin to head for Luis' lab. "Nope, I pretty much saved myself at the church." Leon huffs and grabs my hand, pulling me to the doorway. It's only then I realise Luis isn't with Leon.
"Where's Luis?" I ask, biting my lip as I feel the bad news coming.
"He's...he cared about you until the end, and he told me how to use his lab and get rid of the Plaga." Leon solemnly says. I nod, feeling sad but more angry.
"Saddler needs to pay." I angrily spit out, my hands begin to shake. Leon nods but cups my cheek, leaning down as his nose brushes mine.
"He will, but you're my priority right now." Leon mumbles, then hesitantly he presses his lips to mine, at first it's delicate, but when I wrap my arms around his neck he deepens the kiss, groaning as he pulls away.
He grabs my hand once more and we head to Luis' lab. Once in we take it in turns using the machine, it's painful and we support each other as best we can, holding hands and hugging as the other cries out in pain. Once it's over we both feel better, and ready to get home.
Just as we reach outside Leon stops me, staring down at Saddler who stands in a wide open space, it seems like some kind of dock. Anger flares through me, hating the man responsible for my kidnapping and infection, who practically killed Luis and so many countless others, who wants to infect the rest of the world.
"Stay here." Leon orders, heading to an elevator. I step forward, my mouth already open to argue, but he gives me a pleading look, "I can't let anything happen to you again. Please." I nod and hang back, swallowing back my worry as I watch him go.
Leon makes it down there and I watch as Saddler changes, growing and morphing into a monster. Leon shoots and I silently watch, cheering him on as the bullets hit their marks. Suddenly I hear people behind me, I turn to see three people approaching, holding guns. I gasp and look at Leon, but he can't help me.
In a split second decision I think through my options, then devise a plan. I walk towards them, holding up my hands in a surrender as I force tears to fall down my cheeks. "Please, I'm ready to do what you say." I call out in a weak voice. Thankfully they lower their weapons, just in time for me to kick the first one and grab his gun, I shoot the others and use his body as I shield, bullets hit my human shield and I feel the moment he dies, slumping in my arms. He falls and I look to see the other two dead. I relax my shoulders, a proud smile on my lips.
I double take at the discarded guns on the ground, seeing what looks like a sniper rifle. With a grin I pick it up and run back to the rocks, resting it on a flat rock I look through the scope, I see Saddler bleeding out, his head in perfect view as Leon shoots, looking worse for wear.
I take a deep breath, them pull the trigger. Saddlers head explodes and his monstrous body begins to fall, Leon's shocked face turns to me, and I give him a thumbs up. He's too far away for me to hear, but I make out the words "fucking amazing" come from his mouth.
The ground begins to shake as Leon meets me at the elevator, as soon as the gates open I run to him, his arms envelope me as he picks me up and spins me around, chucking as he buries his face into my neck.
"I did good?" I ask, Leon nods as he pulls back and kisses me quickly.
"Once again, you had the high ground."
I laugh until rocks begin to fall near us, Leon and I both grab for each other at the same time, both of us rushing back the way we came and down to where a jet ski rests in the water.
Hours ago I hardly trusted Leon to catch me, but now I can't imagine not leaping into danger with him by my side. "Fan of thrill rides?" He teases as he climbs on.
I nod and get on behind him, wrapping my arms around him as he starts the ending and drives. Rocks fall and explosions boom around us, fires ignite our path until we're finally free on the open ocean.
The sunset is the prettiest I've ever seen, bright oranges and pinks line the sky as the sun dips into the water, behind us the entire facility blows up, along with all of the Plaga and monsters.
"Don't leave me when we get back." I murmur, resting my head against Leon's back. He turns around slightly and cups my chin, his eyes meet mine as he softly replies "Not in a million years."
Leon keeps his word, when we get back we're treated with medical attention, Leon never leaves me and insists on having me live with him, he uses the excuse of my safety but it's obvious he's smitten with me. We spend countless nights comforting each other, both of us more affected by Los Illuminados than we thought. We go out on numerous dates and it only takes a year before Leon proposes, asking if he can join the high ground with me.
I laugh and nod, embracing him as we sit on the beach watching the sunset, reminiscing about how we met and my reason why I don't want to get married in a church. Leon chuckles and wraps an arm around my shoulders, letting me lean on him.
