The Teen Titans and I all stood on the ground as we all stared up at the man we were fighting. "Your pathetic skills can't outshine the brilliance of Dr. Light!" Dr. Light shouted from on top of a tipped over truck. His glowing yellow hands sent a bright light at us and we all easily dodged. Robin threw a birdarang at the man and he easily dodged. "You're fast, but I doubt you'll enjoy moving at the speed of light!" He said opening the large lightbulb on his chest. A large light shot out of him and it threw Robin back.
I made multiple tendrils grab onto Dr. Light's ankles before hoisting him up into the air. "You're not really one for the spot light, are you?" Dr. Light said before sending his bright yellow beams towards the plants holding him up. The plants were burned as an explosion happened upon impact. A let out a hiss of pain as the plants went back into the ground. Dr. Light landed on his feet before sending another yellow beam towards me.
Thankfully, my reaction time had heavily improved with my powers since fighting with the titans. Roots grew all around me forming a barrier between my physical body and the blast. I was still sent flying back away from Dr. Light, bouncing back on the ground a couple times. As my body hit the ground, the now burnt parts of my protective barrier had crumbled where he hit me. The blow had hurt, but my physical body wasn't injured from the blast.
Beast Boy had ran at Dr. Light as a wolf. He went to bite the man when he easily dodged. "A wolf is no threat when it's blind as a bat!" Dr. Light said taking multiple glowing orbs from his belt and throwing them at Beast Boy. The various flashing lights ended up stunning him and he transformed back to normal.
Star fire tried attacking him from above, but he used some sort or shield to protect himself. He threw a device on the ground capturing her easily. "Watch yourself, lightweight." Cyborg said as he carried a large piece of a car with the wheels attached. (Not a car girly don't come at me guys.) "Things are about to get heavy!" Cyborg yelled barely missing Dr. Light as he swing the weapon onto the pavement. Dr. Light blasted his weapon making it break in half. A red light came from his hands and exploding behind Cyborg trapping him. "Hey! Let me-"
"Now, if nobody minds, I'll be taking the gold." Dr. Light said as he stood over Cyborg. "I mind." Raven said. "Azarath Metrion Zin-ah!" She yelled as she was blasted back with the same force that had hit me. "A bit of advice. Find shorter magic words." Dr. Light said and Raven threw a motorcycle at him. He easily made it explode before hitting her again. However...something seemed off this time.
"Don't come any closer." Raven warned Dr. Light. I had gotten up and quietly made my way over to hopefully land some sort of sneak attack on him. "What's the matter? Afraid of the light?" He asked. In that moment Raven had become something...well...not like her. She towered over Dr. Light with bright red eyes and had various different tentacles that appeared from under her blue cloak. All of them went after Dr. Light.
"No! No!" He yelled. I quickly made vines wrap around him, but I didn't move fast enough. Ravens tentacles had wrapped around him and the vines. The effect of them made his suit spark, and the vines around him die where Raven's magic had touched mine. "My suit! What are you-no! Stop!" He yelled as I tried to fight back with Raven. My efforts did virtually nothing as he was quickly dragged towards her. I did my best and had more and more vines try to grab hold of him, but it was no use. "You win! I surrender!" He yelled out terrified.
"What's the matter? Afraid of the dark?" Raven asked with a sinister look on her face that I'd never seen before. "I surrender! Uh, no!" He screamed. I was concerned for Raven, but I started to become more concerned for Dr. Light as he was pulled under her dark blue robe. I quickly noticed the vines I had attached to him started to die, the blackening effects creeping up towards me quickly. 'Can't let go! Don't let go!' I thought to myself as I turned my head away from the blackening effect that was almost towards my hand. I prepared myself for the worst not really sure if I was hoping to end up okay or not.
"Raven! Stop!" Robin yelled out panicked. A loud gasp was heard from Raven and I quickly noticed the blackening effect stop only a few inches away from the vines I held in my hand. Raven's form started to shrink and Cyborg helped pull Dr. Light out with me. His form appeared from under her cloak. He was curled up into a ball terrified. His suit was utterly ruined and he still had dead plant vines wrapped around him.
Robin and Starfire quickly ran up to the man trying to see if he was alright. "It's okay! You're going to be alright!" Robin tried to reassure him. "It was so...so dark. Make it stop. Make it stop!" Dr. Light said visibly shaking from whatever he had experienced.
I reached my hand up to my mouth to tear the dead plants off with my teeth when a hand stopped my wrist. "Here, let me get that for you." Cyborg said as he pull the dead plants off of me. "Uh, thanks, Cyborg." I said offering him a soft smile. "That was a close call you had there. You alright?" Cyborg asked and the question honestly caught me off guard a little bit. "U-uh, yeah I'm fine. Thankfully, Robin snapped Raven out of it in time." I said not really wanting to think about what could've happened to me.
Cyborg, Beast Boy, and I carefully approached Raven. "Dude! Raven, what did you do?" Beast Boy said not being sympathetic in any way possible. As a result she turned towards us showing sharp teeth and glowing red eyes. Beast Boy let out a loud scream and ended up jumping into my arms which made me roll my eyes. The three of us watched as she walked away.
"What's her deal?!" Beast Boy said from my arms. "The real question is, why are you so light? Wait...are you light or am I just that strong? But why didn't you jump into Cyborg's arms? He was right next to you." I questioned making him look at me. I couldn't help but notice the slight red color appearing on his cheeks. "Uh...Cause I knew you'd protect me?" He tried to justify making me roll my eyes. "Aaand I'm gonna drop you in three, two-" I couldn't help but let out a slight smirk as Beast Boy scrambled from my arms and almost face planting in the process. My gaze turned to Raven who was walking away. I couldn't help but feel worried about her. She's normally so calm and collected...I wonder what happened.
We were all making our way back to the tower. I was walking behind everyone else with my arms behind my head as we walked. Robin ended up slowing down his pace until we were next to each other. "Any idea as to what happened with Raven?" I asked softly just for him to hear me. "Not a clue." There was a cold silence between us for a couple minutes before he broke it.
"You should really be more careful." He said making me glance at him from the corner of my eye. "Aw, were you worried for me, wonder boy?" I teased with a smirk. "I'm serious. You need to be more careful especially when dealing with Raven and her powers. With what she did to your...whatever they're called, I can only imagine what could've happened if she didn't stop." His voice was stern as he talked, but there was a part of his voice that actually made him sound a bit worried for me.
The feeling of him worrying about me made me feel...uncomfortable? I'm not really sure what it was. But I didn't like it. "Do us both a favor and stop worrying about me." "Do me a favor and stop being so reckless?" His voice came out rather harsh. "You do realize I was the only one in your precious little team that decided to try and help Dr. Light." Robin's head turned towards me slightly as he sent a glare that had matched his previous tone. "That's because they know just how powerful Raven can be." He tried to defend the others.
"Will you make up your mind already?" I asked turning my head, sending his glare back. "You can either want me to be a hero, or not. So, please, for the sake of my sanity, pick one and stick to it." There was another string of silence between us before I spoke up again. "I'll be out of your business in about 3-4 more days. Make sure you stay out of mine." I said harshly before jogging up to where Starfire was, leaving Robin behind.
"Rise and shine, amigos!" Beast boy said from the kitchen. He was wearing a little white chef hat while Cyborg, Robin, Star and I sat at the table. It was the next morning from our strange fight with Dr. Light. I sat between Star and Cyborg at the table. I let out a yawn as I stretched before placing my head on Star's shoulder. I had gotten a bit closer to all the titans in my few days here. Mainly Starfire though. My arm is getting close to being fully healed as well. I'm only a few inches away from having my wrist back. Once I have the fundamentals of my arm back, then it's just the surface layer that has to grow back fully. That part will only take about a day, if I'm lucky.
"Breakfast is served!" Beast Boy said turning around with a pan as he walked over to the table. "Thanks, Beast boy. Everything looks great." Robin complimented as Beast set the pan onto the counter. "On my planet, such a feast would mark the arrangement of a marriage. Tell me, Beast Boy, to whom are you engaged?" Starfire asked making me let out a small laugh while Beast Boy let out a panicked yell. "Yeah, Beastie, who's the lucky girl?" I said making him glare at me.
Cyborg started shoveling the food Beast Boy made into his mouth before spitting it out in disgust. "That's not eggs! That's that tofu stuff!" Cyborg yelled before chugging down what was in his cup. It didn't stay in his mouth long as he spit it out onto the floor. "Bleh! That's not even real milk!" Cyborg yelled again making me laugh while Beast Boy looked annoyed.
Raven ended up catching all of our attention as she quietly walked into the room. "Hey, Raven. Want breakfast?" Robin asked. "It's good! Wakey wakey tofu eggs and bakey." Beast Boy said trying to persuade her. "Herbal tea." Was all she said as she poured herself some of the tea I had made. "Come on, just one little taste. You could use a little food after the way you cooked Dr. Light." Beast Boy said trying to lighten the mood. He ended up doing the opposite as Raven turned to him with a harsh 'no'. Her powers ended up effecting the pan of tofu and it shot up all over Beast Boy and onto the floor making all of us stand up. Just as quickly as she had entered the room she left.
"Maybe you should go apologize." Robin said as he stood next to Beast boy. "Me?!" Beast boy asked in disbelief. "I'm not the one who just turned breakfast into a battlefield!" Beast Boy tried to defend himself. "Yeah but after the weirdness that went down last night, you should know better than to go messing with her." Cyborg said as he put his dishes into the sink.
"I gotta say I agree with them, Beast." I said standing on the other side of him taking the pan from his hands. "Didn't she try doing the same to you?!" Beast Boy asked and I rolled my eyes. "Cmon, it's not like she was doing it on purpose. Besides, if anything would've happened, it would've been my own fault. I decided to try and grab him. You just gotta cut Raven some slack." I said placing the pan into the sink for him.
"I was just trying to be nice, but no matter how hard I try she still treats me like tofu eggs! You know, she's never once laughed at any of my jokes?! Even Perci has laughed at my jokes!" Beast boy said and the group looked at me with a raised brow. "What? Sometimes they're so stupid they're funny." I said defending myself. "At least Raven listens. I kinda just tune you out." Cyborg said next to me while he started doing the dishes.
"Raven is...complicated. There is much about her we are not meant to understand." Starfire said defending her friend. "Then how are we supposed to deal with her? How can we even trust her? I mean-" "She's our friend." Robin said interrupting Beast Boy from his rant. "What more do we need to know?" Robin said and I nodded. "As someone whose entire personality revolves around secrets, Robin's right. Sure you guys don't know much about her, but you can tell she has good intentions. Believe me, she knows she's surrounded by people who would take the time to listen to her. So, once she's ready she'll open up more to you, Beast." I said offering him a smile while he only rolled his eyes and crossed his hands over his chest. 'He'll come around.' I thought to myself.
Cyborg and I had finished the dishes and were walking down the hall, when we noticed Beast Boy in front of Raven's door. "You think he's gonna apologize?" I whispered and Cyborg gave a quiet laugh before sending a smile at me. "Not a chance." We both watched as Beast Boy placed the quietest knock I've ever heard on her door. "Oh well, nobody's home." Beast Boy said before running right into Cyborg.
"You might wanna knock a little louder." Cyborg said to Beast Boy. I leaned against the wall with my arms crossed as I smirked at Beast Boy. "Or are you too scared?" Cyborg sent me a look that practically screamed 'you're not helping.' I walked over as Cyborg pushed Beast towards Raven's door before raising his metal hand to knock loudly.
What surprised all of us was when the hard metal door slowly fell to the ground. "Oooh Raven's gonna kill you guys." I couldn't help but tease them as they stared terrified at the metal laying on the floor. "At least now we all have to apologize." Beast boy said looking at Cyborg and I. "Since when did I become part of this?" I asked while they both sent me a glare. "Ugh, fine. I'll apologize too."
"Uh, Raven? Sorry about the door. Raven?" Cyborg called out as we all looked into her room. It was dark and kinda looked like what you'd imagine a dark wizards room to look like. "Dude, she's not here. Come on." Beast said making me roll my eyes. "Ah yes just go waltzing into Raven's room because privacy just isn't a thing." I said sarcastically. "Looks like Halloween came early this year." Beast said as he walked farther into the room. Cyborg carefully snuck into the room and he seemed paranoid.
"We're in Raven's room. We should not be in Raven's room." Cyborg said whispering as he tiptoed into the room. "Yeah, Beast, this is an huge invasion of privacy. And trust me I don't want to be on the other side of the stick when Raven finds out." I said making sure not to touch any of her belongings. "She doesn't let anybody in here, ever!" Cyborg whisper yelled to Beast Boy. "So this is our big chance to find out more about her!" Beast tried to excuse his actions. "Yeah, you can do that, or she'll never trust anyone ever again with anything ever." I said while he brushed me off exploring the room more.
Beast rummaged through some of her stuff making me sigh. "She's gonna kill us. Like dead dead." I said face palming while Cyborg nodded. "This is gonna be it for the teen titans." "Check out this beauty mirror." Beast laughed as he held up the mirror. "Who would've thought Raven spends time sprucing?" Beast Boy said as he stared at his reflection. "Maybe she just likes having a hand mirror, Beast. She probably uses it for her eyeliner. God her eyeliner is always so perfect." I said thinking about her makeup skills.
"Ah! Is that a zit?!" Beast boy yelled and I rolled my eyes. What caught my attention was the high pitched scream he let out. "What is-okay...that can't be good." I said staring up at the large black and red essence coming from the mirror. A large hand formed and grabbed Beast Boy starting to drag him towards the mirror. "Cmon, B, we should really get out-" "A little help, Cy!" I said as I had vines wrapped around the hand holding Beast, but I was getting pulled in with him. I felt myself get raised into the air before Cyborg grabbed my foot. Unfortunately, both of our efforts were useless as we were all pulled into the mirror.
