"Mhm! Would you look at that!" Cyborg said catching Star, Robin, and Perci's attention. "A little sunshine, a little breeze. Only one thing could make this day better." Cyborg said before opening the barbecue. "Four and a half pounds of baby back ribs!" He said before walking over to the table setting his plate down.
"Man, I love picnic food!" Cyborg said before immediately starting to devour his ribs as soon as he sat down at the picnic table. Robin was already working on a sandwich he'd made and Starfire was slurping her drink. Perci Bloom was sat with her head resting on the table with her arm cushioning her slightly. Her eyes were closed peacefully and she wasn't asleep quite yet, but she was getting there. Small stems, leaves, vines, rose buds, and even full roses in bloom were growing visibly from her body in her peaceful and relaxed state.
"Agreed, Cyborg." Star said coming up for air. "This tangy yellow beverage is truly delightful!" Star said before slurping again making all three of the hero's look at her in slight disgust. "Uh...please tell me I'm not the only one that is seeing what I think I see." Perci said with a slight yawn as she rubbed her eye with her hand coming out of her tired state. "Uh...Starfire..." Cyborg started to say. "That's mustard." Robin finished with a questionable gaze on the girl. "Is there more?" She asked with a blush as she eagerly asked for more. "I really thought you were talking about lemonade for a minute there." Perci said with a soft smile as she watched the girl beam over the condiment.
"Aren't you hungry, N- I mean, Perci?" Cyborg asked and she shook her head no. "Nah, I'm good. Already ate technically." She said pointing up at the sun. "Can you not eat the regular human food?" Star asked and Perci shook her head no. "No, I can. But buying food? In this economy? Yeah, I'd rather just stick with what my body naturally does. Besides, it takes like three times as long for me to digest normal food." Perci explained.
"I do not run into that problem. Mine is quite the opposite." Star said making Perci raise a brow at her. "Really? Why's that?" She asked curious about the alien. "Yes. I have nine stomachs making my digestion process a lot faster than humans." Starfire said before taking a long sip of her mustard. Perci on the other hand stared at her with wide eyes as her mouth hung open. "You have six stomachs?!" She practically yelled before she composed herself. "I knew I liked you before, but it's official now, sweetheart. You're definitely my favorite out of all the titans." Perci said making a blush appear on Star's cheeks as she let out a soft giggle.
Cyborg quickly finished eating and ran into the open field with a football in his hand. "Alright, y'all! Who wants to play some foo-ball?!" Cyborg yelled and Perci couldn't help but watch in amusement as all of the teens dashed over. Well, except for Raven of course. "Oh yeah!" "I do!" "Oh yeah! Give me the ball!" The other titans all said as they ran over.
Raven stayed seated in her shady spot as the others waited for her response. "I'll be referee." She said in her normal monotone voice. Perci was a little surprised as the groups gaze turned to her. "You playing, Bloom?" Robin asked while Perci tilted her head to the side sort of confused as to why he'd even ask. "Your teams will be uneven if I join. So, I'll stick this one out. If someone needs a break I'll jump in." She said staying seated at the picnic table.
The teams were Robin and Cyborg vs Starfire and Beast Boy. Robin and Cy started off with the ball and got ready to play. "Red, 23! Hut! Hut! Hut!" Robin yelled and Cy passed the ball to him before running towards the other side of the field with Star right behind him. Robin got ready to throw the football as Beast Boy stood in front of him ready to block. "One Gotham City, two Gotham City." Beast Boy said and Perci couldn't help but smile at their antics.
"You can run, you can fly, but you can't catch Cy!" Cyborg said as he ran from Starfire who was now flying after him. "Four Gotham City, fIVE GOTHAM CITY!" Beast boy yelled. Robin let out a yell as Beast Boy changed into a triceratop and started charging at him. Perci couldn't help but laugh at the look on Robin's face from the sidelines.
Robin quickly reacted as he jumped on top of Beast Boy and ran over him with the ball still in his hand. He jumped off Beast Boy and threw the ball towards Cyborg. Robin had thrown by far the most perfect throw. Cyborg ran and held his hands out ready to catch it. "I got it! I got it!" He yelled when he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks. "What the hell?" Perci said softly to herself as she watched the football hit him right in the head. Cyborg started to tip towards the ground and Perci acted fast. A patch of soft plants appeared underneath Cyborg as he landed on top of them cushioning his fall.
"Cyborg? Cyborg!" Robin yelled and everyone in the team quickly ran over to his aid. "Cyborg? Cyborg!" Starfire called out. "What's wrong with him?" Raven asked with a slight hint of concern in her voice. "Isn't he normally...bluer?" Perci asked as she tapped the normally blue parts of him with her hand. "Is he gonna be okay?" Beast Boy asked the most concerned. "Shh...I think he's coming to." Robin said as he pulled away from his friend slightly.
Cyborg saw all of his friends looking down on him in concern. Even Perci seemed a little concerned for his state. "Cyborg, are you alright?" Robin asked. "Yeah. Ugh! Thanks." Cyborg said as Star and Robin helped him up off the ground. "What happened?" Raven asked. "Something must have gone wrong with my systems." Cyborg said before checking something on his arm.
"Aw, man. My power cell's dying." He said more annoyed than concerned. "Dying?!" Star exclaimed as she heard the worst. "It's only a battery. I'm fine. Happens every couple of years. Just a natural part of being unnatural." Cyborg said with a shrug of his shoulders. "So what do we do?" Robin asked. Cyborg picked up the ball and handed it over to Robin. "You keep playing. I'll go home and change batteries." Cyborg said already starting to walk away. "You sure you don't want any help?" Beast boy asked his best friend. "Just cause I can't have fun doesn't mean y'all can't." Cyborg said as he walked away.
"Guess this means you're on my team, Perci." Robin said before throwing the ball to her. She fumbled with the ball for a second before finally catching it in her arm. "Who said I wanted to be on your team, bird brain? Beast, teammates?" Perci asked the green hero with a raised brow. "Uh, sure, why not." He said with an unsure smile. Perci smiled before tossing the ball to him which he easily caught.
The group got into their positions. The game was just about to start when everyone in the group started having an alarm and a red flashing light appear on them. "Uh...why are you guys all glowing red and beeping?" Perci asked as she held the ball in her hand waiting for an explanation. "It's the Titan alert. Titans, go!" Robin yelled and the group immediately followed him. "Uh-no knowledge about what's going on or anything? Okay, cool, cool, cool." She said making a root grow from the ground and placing the football on top of it. The root pulled the football into the ground for safe keeping. Perci turned around to see the titans running away from the park without her. "Hey! Guys! Wait up!" She yelled as she ran after them.
(Y/n)'s pov:
We ran all the way over to a local junkyard after chasing someone who robbed a jewelry store. I was slightly out of breath. 'Crap, maybe Robin's right. I am a bit out of it. I forgot how much running being a hero involved.' I thought to myself as I quickly recovered. I saw a blue skinned man in what looked like a magician outfit. "Mumbo?" I asked to the others and they nodded. We all watched as he pulled out a diamond and started to examine it. "Not bad for a matinee." Mumbo said staring at the large shining diamond.
"Shows over, Mumbo!" Robin yelled to the magician making him gasp before a large vein appeared on his forehead. I stood next to Starfire who was already in the air. I glanced at the others and noticed they were in their classic super hero poses. 'Ugh, what's up with super heroes and their poses?' I asked myself as I rolled my eyes. "Now hand over the jewels before the critics decide to trash your performance." Robin said as he glared down at Mumbo. "Now, Robin, I'm sure there's a peaceful solution here, but this isn't!" Mumbo said as bombs appeared in his hands. He quickly threw them in our direction and we all easily dodged out of the way.
I was able to jump out of the way and ran somewhere to take cover while explosions happened near me. Glancing up I noticed Robin get dragged down for cover by a blue metal arm. Coming out of my spot I was able to lean against an old car. "Who said you could start the party without me?" Cyborg said and I rolled my eyes at the cheesy lines. 'What's he doing here?' I thought to myself. "Cyborg?! What about your power cell?" Robin asked just as a few explosions happened right in front of them.
Starfire shot green energy beams at him while Raven threw various large amounts of garbage from their own hiding spots. I couldn't help but smirk as Mumbo dodged all of their attacks, even Beast Boys. "Go home, get fixed. We can handle this without you." Robin said to Cyborg making me roll my eyes. "I won't let you guys fight alone." Cyborg said trying to defend himself. "And I won't let you put yourself in danger." Robin said looking out for him. "I got it covered. External batter pack." Cyborg said revealing a large battery system attached to his back.
"Will you guys stop flirting already and get your heads out of your asses?" I asked loudly as I jumped down between them. "We weren't flirting!" Both guys yelled at me making me smirk and shrug my shoulders. "Damn, sorry. Could've fooled me." I said making Robin let out an annoyed groan. "Teen titans, go!" Cyborg yelled before jumping out of the ditch. I glanced towards Robin as I smirked. "Regret your decision yet, wonder boy?" I asked as he shook his head no. "Why don't you take your own advice and get your head out of your ass." He said before jumping up after Cyborg. "Oooh hit a nerve." I said before jumping out of the ditch.
I got out just in time to see Cyborg hit Mumbo sending him flying into the garage. The man was quick to get back on his feet placing his hat back on his head. I watched honestly kind of impressed as colored cloth started to pour out of his sleeve. "Nothing up my sleeve, and presto!" Mumbo said as the cloth wrapped tightly around Cyborg sending him to the ground.
Robin snuck up on him getting ready to kick him when Mumbo noticed his battle cry. "Need a hand?" He asked as he stuck his hand through a pipe. Mumbo's hand appeared through a different pipe grabbing Robin by his cape. Robin was stopped in his tracks and I couldn't help but laugh at how he was stuck hanging there. Multiple hands came through different pipes successfully hitting Robin.
Deciding he had enough torture for one day I decided to step in. "Mind if I join your act?" I asked running towards the magician. My hand had been wrapped in hard wood with sharp thorns covering the surface of the wood. "How about a bouquet of roses for the lovely lady?" Mumbo said with a smirk as he reached into his hat. I felt something grab my ankle, but I didn't have enough time to react. My leg had been pulled into the ground, but I was surprised to see Mumbo's hand wrapped around my foot as he held it slightly out of his hat. "How peculiar." He said staring at my leg. Mumbo made the mistake of holding it close to his face and I was able to kick him square in the mouth. He dropped the hat and I was able to get my foot back above ground.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" Raven yelled sending more large pieces of garbage flying towards Mumbo. I wasn't even surprised at this point as he easily stopped the items mid air. He easily turned them into rose petals. 'At least he sticks to his theme really well.' I thought to myself as I went for cover of some kind.
"You think that's good? Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat! Hocus-pocus!" Mumbo yelled as rabbit stuffies shot out from his hat attaching themselves to Raven. Beast boy charged at him as a ram and he pulled a deck of cards out of his pocket. "Pick a card, every card!" Large cards shot towards Beast Boy knocking him back.
"For my next trick, I'll require a lovely assistant." Mumbo said revealing a large cane. "What is he-" My question was answered as he pulled Star down from the sky. She was quickly captured inside a large box as Mumbo pulled out a giant saw. "It's only fair to warn you, I have no idea what I'm doing." Mumbo said. I raised my arm up and plants surrounded the box protecting it from the saw. "Huh? What the-" Just as he was about to finish his sentence, Cyborg tackled him. I made the plants pry open the box setting Star free. As she flew out she gave me a nod of thanks.
"I hate fighting dirty. Shall we clean you up?" Mumbo said to Cyborg with a smirk. The flower on his shirt let out an overflow of water sending him flying into one of the garbage trucks. Robin was quick to run after him. "Cyborg?" He yelled. I followed after him just as Mumbo started the engine of the truck. "Exit stage left." He said and started driving right for me. Roots around my feet immediately pulled me underground making me avoid the truck.
I appeared back on the surface and brushed myself off. "Kinda rude the guy almost ran me over, but that's villains for you, huh." I said as I walked over to the other titans as they watched the truck drive away. "Everyone okay?" I asked while we all looked at each other. Robin quickly turned to us with a determined look in his eyes that I'm all too familiar with. "Titans, he's got Cyborg!" Robin said and we all quickly started to run after the truck.
"Any idea where the truck is?" Robin asked as I ran next to him. "Uh, give me a second." I asked before diving head first into the ground. The large root system I made was right below the streets. It was connected to various different places and plants. This was how I receive most of my intel. I placed my hand on the root sending my message trying to find the blue garbage truck. I couldn't help but smirk as I quickly got a response.
I shot up from the ground starting to run right next to Robin again. "I got word that there was a blue garbage truck headed north. It just crashed not too long ago." I said and Robin nodded. "Perfect, lead the way." He said and I nodded. "Titans, follow Perci!" Robbin yelled to the other titans. It took me about a minute to figure out the best route there. Once I did, I was weaving in and out of alleyways. Branches coming up from the ground lifting me up on top of buildings before disappearing back into the ground. Robin was right on me as I continued to run. "Gotta admit...it's kinda nice using my powers out in the open again." I said glancing over to him. "We have more pricing matters right now." He said making me roll my eyes. "Fine, but you better remember how to keep up, wonder boy." I said increasing my speed.
