Wednesday.
Luz made breakfast, and packed everyone lunch. "Have a good day at work Mama." Luz gently nuzzled her cheek, handing her the lunch pale.
"Thank you Mija, I'll pick you up after school." Camilla grinned, stepping out.
Luz nodded, "Bye!"
"Good luck at school!" Camilla waved, quickly getting in her car.
Luz closed the door, looking to her family, "Amor, no stealing." Luz walked over to King, picking him up, setting him in his baby chair. "Finish your veggies." She poked Vee's phone. "Eat."
Amity sat back down, holding her plate out, King glared and ate his veggies, Vee set her phone down and continued eating. Luz took Amity's plate, walking to the stove, "More chorizo and one tortilla please!"
"Of course Amor." Luz scooped up some steaming chorizo, setting it in the bowl.
Luz set a tortilla on the stove, handing Amity her plate which she began prepping. Luz flipped the tortilla, yawning as she tossed it lightly in her paw before setting it back down. It began to steam, fluffing up before settling down and expanding.
Pulling it off the stove, Luz switched it off and offered Amity the tortilla. She carefully took it, wincing at the heat and setting it in her plate. "You'll get used to it."
"Yes, I had to get used to it while pretending to be Luz." Vee gulped down the tortilla. "Gwu-" She swallowed, eyes widening at the message she recieved. "Uh-Oh."
A knock came at the door, but it was cut off and the door opened. Masha stumbled in, skittering about and rushing to the couch. Clara growled from outside, glaring, "You can come in." Luz said, turning the stove back on.
Clara barked sharply, jumping in and grabbing Masha, "What have I told you about entering without permission?"
"To do it so I can run!"
"Masha! You can't run inside like that, especially opening other people's doors!"
Masha yowled, biting Clara's arm. Luz grabbed Clara's muzzle, the golden retriever nearly biting Masha's neck. "And this is why we don't get into fights with other species." Luz grabbed Masha's scruff. "Because they risk permanent injuries from a single bite."
Clara growled softly, glaring at Masha as Luz closed the door. "She started it.." Masha uttered.
"Masha, I like you. I'm a biased pup, I favor cats over my own kind because of my girlfriend." Luz placed her hand over her chest. "You care for my sister when I'm not around. But lying and hurting my kind in my home?" She sat Masha down on the ground. "Isn't allowed. Apologize."
"Luz.."
"Cállate Vee. Tiene que aprender." Luz growled softly.
Masha lowered her head, ears pinning back, "Sorry. Clara's just fun to mess with.."
Luz picked her up, setting her down when she could stand, clapping. "Breakfast anyone?"

Masha came to notice something when Luz handed her breakfast, and kept staring at her throughout it. A tail slinked around her neck, the lavender fur taunting her to bite. Which she tried, of course, but her muzzle was wrapped with it. "Masha, I want you to be aware that's my girlfriend you're staring at." Amity spoke softly, drinking some horchata.
"Gwoh mnghh bradd." Masha shook her head, drawing back.
Amity's tail drooped, tucking under her chair, "Hm?"
"My bad, it's just.." Masha hummed softly, ears twitching. "Clara listens to Luz."
The group looked to her, King yapping, "Duh! My sister is so cool!"
"No, well yes- But it's not that." Masha shook her head.
Vee let her food pass before piping up, "Because it's our house and Clara's a guest?"
"Wh- Camilla said I was basically her daughter because I left this morning to buy groceries." Clara set her fork down.
"She doesn't mean that." Luz snarled softly. "The food I made for you will get cold, continue eating til you're full."
Clara huffed, picking her fork up and angrily eating. "See!" Masha pointed. "Last time I told Clara that she jumped at me and lied on top of me til she got hungry!"
Luz sighed, "Dogs are a dominant species, Masha." Luz stood, walking around the table. "An old term, but the word you're looking for is alpha. I take charge, I care for those under my paw and will go to an extreme to make sure they'll be okay."
Amity gasped softly, "Is that why you bully Jerbo-"
"That is exactly why I bully Viney." Luz picked Amity up. "I bully Jerbo because he makes a fun target, I like chasing him around."
Amity purred loudly, nuzzling into the crook of Luz's neck, "Cuddles for me~"
Luz's tail wagged, ears going from perked to lazed, "Anyone want to go lie in the sunbeds outside before school starts?"
. . .
"You guys didn't have to come." Luz looked back, King's paw in hand.
"It's just an extra street or eight, no worries." Clara pressed the crosswalk button. "Besides, I need the steps."
King looked down the street, looking to his left. He yipped, tail wagging as he saw one of his playmates. "Hey that kind of looks like--"
"François!" King jumped up.
The bunny looked up, ears perking, "King!"
Dropping his bag, the bunny jumped on all fours and hopped over to King, tackling him. The group snickered, Luz helping them up, "François you eager bunny." A buck walked over, ruffling his fur. "No tackling, remember?"
François nodded, arms up as his father slid the backpack on him. "We're doing arts today! Did you bring your gloves?"
"Always do!" King yipped, hugging Luz's leg. "I can walk with François from here, I'll see you after school!!"
"Alright, make sure you give the teacher the slip Mama gave you. No biting- King, no biting." She picked him up. "Take care of yourself, and if you need someone to call anyone, call me, okay? Mama is busy and the school gives me permission to go take care of you."
King nodded, nuzzling Luz's cheek, "I'm going to be late, I'll see you later!"
Vee pat his head, King's tail wagging, the demon being set down. He took François's paw, his father waving at the girls and walking across the street with the boys.
Amity nuzzled up against Luz, purring softly, "No need to cry Amor, he's a growing boy."
Luz sniffled, "He uSeD tO lOvE mE mOrE!"
King gasped from across the street, turning, "Luz, Vee! I love you!! Good luck at school today!!" He waved.
Luz took in a breath which allowed her to sob, the mutt waving frantically at her little brother. Vee wailed, turning to Clara who flinched and held her arms out. "There there Cariño." Amity wiped her tears, licking her cheek. "It's okay, it'll be okay."
Sniffling, Luz nuzzled into the crook of Amity's neck, holding her tightly. "He's all grown up- He's confident in saying he loves us in public- He lOvEs mE!"
"He lOvEs uS!" Vee wailed, burrowing her snout in Clara's shoulder.
The golden retriever walked over to Luz, patting her shoulder, "When Masha first said she cared about me I had the same reaction. But come on, the sooner we get to school, the sooner you can come back and tell King you love him."
Luz gasped, "KING I LOVE YOUUU!!" Luz howled.
Vee and Clara perked, howling along with Luz. Their ears flicked, tail wagging when a soft, "Awooo~!" Was sent back.
Luz wiped her snot, turning, "I'm gOnNa gO cRy nOw.."
